THE VALUES OF YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE ONLINE ENVIRONMENT- ITALY


HOW MUCH ARE YOUNG PEOPLE INFLUENCED BY MASS MEDIA? • The media have changed the daily habits of more and more people. • Some data found on the net show how generally young people, aged between 17 and 34, prefer to use Messenger, Direct Instagram and WhatsApp to exchange messages, while social networks themselves are preferred only at a later time and exclusively to share likes, videos or photos.


HOW HAS THE MEDIA CHANGED OUR LIFE? • On the one hand, technological progress has made it possible to improve communicate by providing more means and more opportunities to get in touch with other people, but it has also created a situation in which different types of communication are increasingly remote and increasingly silent.


THE NEGATIVE ASPECTS OF ONLINE-LIFE • Social, sometime, includes violent, racist or sexist images and videos, which often end in humiliation or defamation. These contents are very dangerous, as they can lead to anorexia and eating disorders, to self-harm or, in concerning cases, even to suicide. • this is because there is a constant tendency to perfection and unfortunately we do not appreciate what is beautiful. Simple things are no longer appreciated and especially young people tend to feel bad because of the personal dissatisfaction that is generated.


THE KEY TO HAPPINNESS IS LETTING GO OF THAT IDEA OF PERFECTION DEBRA MESSING


THE POSITIVE ASPECTS OF ONLINE-LIFE • Using the Internet is similar to a game: that is why the Internet has made culture within reach even for the laziest people. It even becomes easy and fun to wander around the virtual rooms of a museum. To the extent permitted, expressing your opinion is easier.


THE IMPORTANCE OF ADVERTISING • Advertising, as a part of the marketing promotion, influences our lives, imperceptibly accompanying every moment of our activities, adapting to our behaviors, conforming to the anthropology of the masses, therefore to new technologies and social dynamics. It is young people who are most fascinated by advertisements and remote tools,or e-commerce sites such as Amazon.
