Running the activity
For the organizational moment, the students received a day before the event on the whatsup group and on the class platform, the link where the meeting was to take place at the set time. We established the rule to keep the video camera open and the microphone closed. At the request of the teaching staff, the students opened their microphones to answer the nominally addressed questions.
In order to get the students' attention and introduce the term tolerance, I accessed the classroom application and shared the video "Dark chocolate". In the mentioned video, attention is drawn to the lack of tolerance of the students towards a female colleague of another ethnicity and to the ignorance of the teaching staff towards the student. https://youtu.be/UHHN-mYYQ1g
Running the activity
Discussions - each student is asked to answer some questions: what they liked, what they didn't like, what they would have done in the place of the children and the teacher, what conclusion they drew about the students' behavior vis-avis the differences that they were doing In the end, all the students agreed that ALL CHILDREN are the same regardless of ethnicity, religion, culture and have the same rights, first and foremost to education.
Personalization - Each student then exemplified through their own life experiences situations where they were tolerant and when they were intolerant. It is observed that conflicts arise most often when students get offended or tease each other on racist topics
The golden rules for becoming more tolerant and accepting differences - were selected by students from a table in depending on the particular situation of each one.
