What makes us jolly this holiday season and all year round?! It is capturing the festive celebrations around the Eastern Shore and telling the stories of some of those who make The Eastern Shore merry and bright.

In this issue, we bring you an assortment of events that supported a wide range of causes including conservation, healthcare, and more. Fairhope Film Festival celebrated 10 years of bringing world class cinema to The Eastern Shore, and the first Cowboys and Cocktails hosted by The Future Founders of Thomas Hospital Foundation was ace-high. We hope you enjoy these and all of the other great events in this issue.

You will notice that we focused on those who provide us with one of the most important things in life...home. We are excited to share all the good that Baldwin County Homebuilders Association does in our community. We will also introduce you to an accomplished veteran who is helping shape the future of American Legion Post 199. It was a joy to put these together along with all of our other editorial features this month.

“What better project could a community have than supporting the veterans and the community and restore a historic building that has supported these individuals for many years?” Sumrall goes on.

“Our freedom depends on the men and women who stand on the front lines to defend our nation. We owe a debt that can never be fully repaid. This building is a monument to those who served and returned as well as to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our state and our nation. This is a monument to our community’s hometown heroes, which is what makes this such a vital undertaking.”

Clearly, Sumrall is impassioned. But passion isn’t all he brings to bear in his position at Post 199. He also brings the experience of his time in the Army as well as that which he gained as the CEO of ProSphere in Alexandria, VA, where he and his wife lived after his retirement. During his time in Northern Virginia, he was also a contributing member of Post 176 in Springfield.

Reading over the achievements of Major General (Retired) Michael H. Sumrall’s military career, the commendations and awards he received during his 44-year career in the Army, the tours he completed in battle zones and the time he spent in positions of leadership, the man is undeniably imposing. His dress uniform attests to his accomplishments, boasting an impressive “fruit salad” of ribbons that tell the story of his time in service.

Now that he’s hung up the uniform, he continues to be a force, having taken up the mantle of Senior Vice Commander at American Legion Post 199 in Fairhope. Over the past 18 months that he’s served in the position, he’s used his passion, drive and motivational skills to eff am leader for the project, and my challenge with this is getting to know people who will support our fund-raising efforts,” says Sumrall. “We have a magnificent plan for the restoration of the building, but we need about $2.5 million in contributions to provide the community with a wonderful facility to be utilized for the Legion as well as the public. Our veterans served and fought for this nation, and we need the community to help us fight to complete this project.

With his move to Baldwin County two years ago, Sumrall decided he wanted to do more for the American Legion than simple membership. “I wanted to continue supporting veterans, active-duty personnel, and the local community, and taking this role as Senior Vice Commander gave me that opportunity,” says Sumrall. “Veterans almost always want to continue service to the nation, and I’m no exception.”

Being Senior Vice Commander indeed brings him to a position of service, as he is responsible for membership retention and recruitment. He also serves as a backup to the Commander and assists them with any duties they may assign Sumrall to accomplish in addition to being in line for service in the place of the Commander in their absence. “I am also a teacher and presenter of information about ‘democracy,’” Sumrall notes.

During his time as Senior Vice Commander and team leader of the Capital Campaign, Sumrall has been instrumental in helping to raise the necessary funding for the project and find alternatives to meet their needs in the interim. “Our team continues to make changes in response to the devastation of Hurricane Sally that essentially destroyed our facility,” he says. “Thanks to the generosity of neighbors in the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge #1879, we have been able to meet in their facility and support continuous operations of the Post. We have also been able to install a temporary building as a canteen to provide beverage and food service to our members and the public. Additionally, we have developed final plans for the renovation of our building, which was originally built in 1913. We have also implemented improvements for the Tiki Bar which is located on the beach in front of our building. Just take a look at that American Flag that flies at the end of the pier at Legion Beach and think of the men and women who defend our country across the globe. This is a place where many of the community’s heroes gather, and we need to restore it to the glory it so deserves.”

Chukkers for Charity was a polo event that all ages could enjoy. There were pony rides and inflatables for the kids, and half-time divot stomps with champagne for the adults. This fun afternoon also featured food trucks, an award presentation for best tailgate, and an opportunity to get player autographs and photos in addition to two great polo matches.

While growing up in St. Louis, Kelly always longed for the day she could live close to the beach. Every year her family would head South for their annual vacation, and she knew early on that she wanted to chart a path that ended close to the water. Her life has taken her from St. Louis to Little Rock, and when the opportunity presented itself, Kelly made the decision to call Fairhope home.

Going back to her childhood, Kelly has always had a passion for all things beauty related. At a very young age, her enthusiasm inspired her to jump into the cosmetics industry in which she has built an impressive resume. Kelly's desire to open her own boutique began to cultivate. Who, specifically, in your life influenced your decision to become a teacher?

My elementary 5th Grade teacher, Martha Mixon, had a tremendous impact on me. She was always fun, happy, and included us. I felt like I belonged here. Also, Martha Robertson had a huge impact on me as well. Her daughter Julie and I were best friends growing up and spent a lot of time in her mom’s classroom helping out. Julie and I both later became teachers.

What is your biggest challenge as a teacher?

My biggest challenge is the evolving requirements coming from the state and federal governments. There is always something new coming in for us to implement. Therefore, this is why time is a factor for so many teachers - trying to get everything in that we are required to do.

What do you feel is the biggest reward?

I feel that the biggest reward is seeing my students enjoy learning. Also, when you see the progress that they have achieved over time is such a great feeling.

How do you make learning fun for your students?

In order to make learning fun, I incorporate hands on activities, group activities, let students have a “voice”, and I just get silly and start singing sometimes to keep their attention.

If you could leave your students with one message, what would it be?

If I could leave my students with one message it would be to go out in this world and make your mark. One of my favorite quotes is from Ralph Waldo Emerson- Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

RED CARPET Party

Fairhope Film Festival wrapped up its 10th year of bringing fantastic films to Fairhope with a Red Carpet Party featuring food, drinks and live music. The party was the culmination of four days of feature length films and documentaries as well as an assortment of short films.

No matter the country or the culture, home is a concept that touches close to the heart—one that finds its place both in the literal and the abstract. Homeownership, by extension, is something of a dream for so many people, though finances and circumstances can make that dream seem unattainable. As a professional trade association serving the local home builders, developers, remodelers, suppliers and service providers of Baldwin County, the Baldwin County Home Builders Association was created to provide and expand the opportunity for all consumers to have safe, wellbuilt and affordable housing throughout Baldwin County, Alabama—making homeownership a dream that can be more easily realized.

Chartered in 1973 by the National Association of Home Builders, the Baldwin County Home Builders Association keeps building industry professionals informed of critical issues that they may face in their work in addition to providing education opportunities that further enhance their skills and better their abilities to meet the industry challenges. “The Association provides its members services in the areas of advocacy, professional development and education that affect the local business community,” says Marsha Jordan, Executive Vice President of the BCHBA. “We also serve as the voice for business-related information, peer-to-peer networking opportunities and making regional level connections to benefit businesses in our area.”

While it may be a trade association, the BCHBA’s work causes a ripple effect that reaches the community and impacts the lives of its citizens. “Our goal is to make affordable housing more available and more attainable to

the people who live in Baldwin County and want to make a real home here,” says Jordan. “A home is the simplest, yet most essential item in people’s lives. It is a comfort and a safe haven at the end of a long day, and a place for them to call their own that gives them independence. That’s an incredible thing that can really change the quality of someone’s life.”

Boasting 905 company members with 22,466 employees, the BCHBA is a sizable organization, with a sizeable reach and a strong ability to make an impact. Still, there are challenges that impede its ability to accomplish its mission—many which have been amplified over the past few years due to political and environmental factors. “We face challenges like supply chain issues, Canadian lumber tariffs, labor shortage and interest rates,” says Jordan. “All of these complicate timelines, increase prices and slow progress. It can feel like an uphill battle as we try to make headway in meeting our community needs.”

Still, the members of the BCHBA collectively and individually have affected incredible change in the affordable housing of Baldwin County. “We worked along with the Home Builders Association of Alabama in getting the building industry deemed essential during COVID, which kept construction moving forward even during the lockdown,” says Jordan. “As we look to the future and invest in the upcoming generations, we have awarded $129,600 in scholarship to high school seniors going into the building industry. In an effort to get more women in the building industry, our Professional Women in Building is teaming up with the BCBE to host an all-girls’ camp, Baldwin Girls Build, in June 2023. We see the incredible potential of these young women to make their mark in the industry and want to encourage them to follow their dreams.

“We believe in giving back and do so in as many ways as we can,” Jordan continues, noting that all of their finding comes from membership dues and sponsorships. “To provide for the special needs of some of our community members, the BCHBA’s Charitable Foundation built a home for a local wounded veteran and is currently building another home for a disabled couple in Fairhope. In addition, we give back to the community through our fishing tournament, Christmas tool tree, Young Professionals and Board of Directors. We also just celebrated our 33rdAnnual Parade of Homes where we showcased our builders and their homes to the public, which helps create greater awareness of what we do.”

INSPIRED by NATURE PASSION for DESIGN

HUNTER BRIDGES, Interior Designer & Owner, is well known for his knowledge of European antiques and his impressive interior stylings. Hunter has experienced years of success as an interior designer and European antiques wholesaler. His distinctive vision, paired with his entrepreneurial spirit, challenged him to create Gulf Coast Staging, LLC in the early Spring of 2022. Based in Fairhope, he has received tremendous love and support from the Eastern Shore for his staging of real estate properties. A high demand from interior design clients followed shortly.

Gulf Coast Staging, LLC will be transitioning into an interior design firm in 2023. Hunter Bridges Interiors, in collaboration with Interior Designer Carolina Subirats, focuses on capturing the essence of the clients' wants and desires thus creating timeless, earthly design concepts with sparks of curiosity throughout each home...something to pique the interest of even the most well-traveled.

The team has worked with clients on luxury properties in Fairhope, Orange Beach, Mobile, and Tuscaloosa AL. The team at Hunter Bridges Interiors also specializes in commercial properties. Luxury boutique BEIGE on the Bay on Fairhope Avenue is their latest project.

With a focus of incorporating natural and architectural elements into their design concepts, Hunter Bridges Interiors will also be adding a collection of their favorite items called “Objects of Curiosity” on their Instagram and upcoming website in Summer 2023.

Knockout Inspections opened in August 2013 in Fairhope, AL. It consists of licensed Certified Master Inspectors, Home Inspectors, and FORTIFIED Evaluators. The company offers standard home inspections, bank loan draw inspections, 203K loan inspections, and FORTIFIED evaluations. The company is focused on its mission to ensure safe living one home at a time. It uses technology in the field to generate reports, documents the condition of the property through photos and videos, and ensures that standards are met to safe living conditions.

Nathan Lippincott, the Founder of Knockout Inspections, came from a long line of contractors and builders and was a framer in his early career. He has built many homes, even several of his own for his family, and knew the ins and outs of the construction industry. The last few homes he framed were actually built to the FORTIFIED standard when it was still in its infancy. In 2013, he decided to leave the construction industry to pursue his dreams of entrepreneurship by becoming a Home Inspector.

Knockout Home Inspections started as a one-person show. He grew the company by visiting many local real estate offices and making connections with realtors. Many of the custom new construction homes that he inspected were built to the Gold FORTIFIED standards. One of the requirements to become a FORTIFIED Evaluator is to be a licensed home inspector for several years, so Nathan became a certified FORTIFIED Evaluator in 2015.

Knockout is continuing to educate, grow, and expand the FORTIFIED program. Nathan said, “We have seen great success in the standards and truly believe that FORTIFIED is the future for safer, more resilient construction.” The company recently had an update issued by IBHS that ensures even greater protection by adhering to the 2018 IRC Code. In some states, legislation has been passed that requires homeowners to receive a discount for the fortification of their homes. For example, homeowners with a FORTIFIED built home can receive a discount of up to 55% on their homeowner’s insurance premium. The only requirement is to have a valid FORTIFIED certificate which must be provided to the insurance company.

They say that life imitates art…or, in the case of Ebie Douglas and Gaines Bates, life imitates prankery. “Gaines and my older brother, Taylor, were friends growing up,” says Ebie, telling the tale of how she and Gaines came to be a couple. “Once when Gaines was visiting my brother, my family and neighbors all ended up doing karaoke on the Wharf. Later that night, my dad told my mom that he thought Gaines and I were going marry each other. My mom thought that was so silly because we never even talked that night. But a couple months later, Gaines asked me to his fraternity party. One of his friends took me aside and told me that it was going to be a fake wedding with a fake bride and groom and that Gaines had been selected as the groom, so he had to propose to me. Halfway through the party, Gaines dropped to one knee with a fake ring and asked me to ‘marry’ him. Luckily, I’d had some warning, so I played along with it. It was a fun night, and the fraternity planned our fake wedding, down to the bridesmaids and groomsmen, for the next night. Unfortunately, they had to call off the party because of tornado warnings. But I still have the fake ring! Who else can say they were proposed to on their first date? Because of our schedules, we didn’t really start dating until the next fall.”

Three years later, the fake proposal was replaced by a real one—this time, with a ring as genuine as the love that had grown between them. “Gaines’s plan was to pick me up Saturday morning so we could go for a walk on the Avenue of Oaks at Spring Hill College and then go to my parents’ bay house,” says Ebie. “Unfortunately, it was pouring rain, and I was hungry, so I suggested that we just go to Waffle House instead. After we ate, Gaines took me to my house so I could pack up to go to the bay. I’d been in my room, but Gaines called me into the living room. When I did, he was down on one knee. I started crying, I was so happy.”

Tears were plentiful again on June 4, 2022, when Ebie walked down the aisle at Sacred Heart Church in Mobile, wearing a fit-to-flare gown with a ruffled train and a removable lace overlay to marry the love of her life. After being pronounced married, the couple joined their guests for a reception at Ebie’s parents’ home on Mobile Bay—though getting there came with some complications. “The plan was to get on a golf cart right after the ceremony, ride down to a neighbor’s wharf and hop on the boat to ride to our wharf,” says Ebie. “When we got on the golf cart, it didn’t start. My uncle Robert finally got it to start and gunned it, so drinks flew everywhere! We drove down and got on a boat to ride to the reception, and all of our wedding party was waiting on the end of our wharf when we arrived. Our neighbor shot off a cannon to get the guests’ attention, then we did a second line down the wharf into the reception with the Blow House Brass band leading the way.”

After dining on a buffet of various seafood options, the party was in full swing, with dancing and even a late-night snack of Buck Dog from the Battles Wharf Mini Mart. And, of course, the cake—a five-tiered confection of different flavored layers including almond, butter, strawberry, coconut and cream, covered in light blue butter cream and adorned with sugar flowers.

As the festivities came to a close, the newlyweds were sent off with wishes of a happy future—and plenty of confetti. “As we were leaving, the guests threw so much we could barely walk through it!” Ebie laughs. “We finally made it down the wharf and hopped on the boat while fireworks went off.”

After spending their honeymoon in Jumby Bay, Antigua, the couple is back home in Mobile, looking forward to real life together.

The Future Founders of Thomas Hospital Foundation hosted their first Cowboys & Cocktails event at Oak Hollow Farm. The event featured members of Thomas Hospital’s pediatric care team, with live music, corn hole, drinks from around Fairhope, and dinner. Proceeds will help support Thomas Hospital Foundation’s mission to provide resources for highquality healthcare to our community.

KEITH WALL

Keith Wall is a Gulf Coast native from Mississippi. He has lived in Mobile, Alabama for over a decade, completing a BFA in Graphic Design and an MFA in Creative Technologies and Practice at the University of South Alabama. Wall’s work is inspired by his love for the natural environment and by his pursuit of authentic connections with others. In this manner, it is his original voice— sharing his experiences, memories, and point of view in hopes of influencing and communicating beyond ordinary means.

He has a vibrant sense of awareness for design and artistry that echoes his interests in the unconventional. Keith Wall is an explorer who values the beauty our natural environment has to offer. As a result, expressively colorful artwork develops within his practice, filled with poetic movement and alluring textures. For this artist, each piece is an artifact of past endeavors and a guide for a visual voice— a mind map that works like a web. His art circles through a lifetime of thoughts about society, self, place, and the connectivity of all the unusual dots in-between. As Wall continues forward with his heart and mind open to new experiences, he loves to share the journey through social media, artwalks, markets, festivals, and exhibitions, featuring his artwork that celebrates the magical moments all around.

In addition to selling his canvas paintings, Wall is interested in painting murals. For him, they are the ultimate opportunity to cultivate his passion for connecting with others through his artwork. In fact, keep an eye out, because he is currently working on a mural in Daphne, Alabama that will be completed soon.

SUPERMOM Michelle Murrill

As the CEO of Southern View Media and the owner of Pelican Promos and Daphne Cowork, Michelle Murrill has an incredible amount of responsibility vying for her attention at any given point during the day—and it doesn’t stop when she walks through the door at home. The mother of three kids between the ages of 21 and two years old, Murrill may qualify as a “working mom”—but you won’t hear her using that term of her own accord.

“I feel like as women, we are forced to label ourselves as either stay-at-home or working moms,” she contends,

“but we are all working moms. We are either working outside of the home or inside the home. I choose to work outside of the home because I feel like I am making a difference in my community. I get to help local business owners see their dreams come to fruition. Helping other families achieve their goals is what makes me know I am doing the right thing each week. I do miss being home with my kids—the youngest especially—but I focus on quality time instead of quantity. Being a mom working outside of the home means making the most of every moment.”

With her two older children especially, Murrill has been able to reinforce her choice to pursue a passion with an example of also fulfilling a purpose of giving to something greater than herself. “My kids get to see their mom not only working, but working for a purpose,” says Murrill, who is also a board member for Bras for a Cause, an Eastern Shore Chamber Ambassador and a board member for TheAmerican Autism Society. “We volunteer together, and we talk about the events and organizations we sponsor or work with pro bono. We plan ways to help the community, and they get to be a part of it. They get to come to the Eastern Shore Business Expo and see all the businesses there and the connections being made. They’ve had the opportunity to drive to New Orleans after a hurricane and help hand out free tarps and chainsaws and deliver free yard signs to local businesses trying to make it without internet. They attend the galas, presentations, dinners and networking events that are appropriate for their age

they carry her example with them. “I want my kids to remember not just that I worked and ran several businesses, but that I was happy when I did it,” she says. “I managed the stress well, found ways to make them a priority and took time for family vacation and quality time. There are special moments like birthdays and holidays, but I really want the day-to-day things like mornings and evenings to be happy and fulfilling for them, and I want them to remember that sense of everyday joy in being at home together.”

The everyday joy in the Murrill home seems in high attendance, thanks to the many little ways of showing love. “At least once a week, I wake the kids up by jumping on the bed and singing ‘Rise and Shine and Give God the Glory Glory’ as loud as I can,” she says with a laugh. “This is extremely enjoyable during the teenage years, especially when you have a toddler helping. I was able to wake me oldest up this way on her 21st birthday with both siblings helping me jump and sing.”

There are also weekly trips to the Grand Hotel almost every Sunday afternoon in the spring, summer and fall to swim, eat, play cards and enjoy time with their grandparents; regular family movie nights; and a long-distance road trip every summer. “We’re trying to get our middle child to all 50 states and all 30 MLB stadiums before he graduates high school,” Murrill notes. “We don't plan a lot and stay in a different city each night. There is a final destination, but the ultimate goal is that the joy is in the journey.”

100th TAVR performed at Thomas Hospital

[FAIRHOPE, AL] — Recently, Dr. Stan Thornton with Cardiology Associates in Fairhope, assisted by Dr. Trey Pluscht with Cardio-Thoracic & Vascular Surgical Associates, performed the 100th TAVR procedure at Thomas Hospital. Dr. Thornton is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and is dedicated to creating access to state-of-the-art cardiology care to our community. He is credited with bringing TAVR to our community.

If you have a heart murmur and chest pain, feel faint or dizzy, have shortness of breath and excess fatigue when active, you may be suffering from aortic valve stenosis, a progressive

narrowing of the aortic valve, which is the opening through which blood leaves the heart to supply the organs with oxygenated blood. The valve doesn't fully open, which blocks blood flow from the heart. This increases the cardiac workload and decreases the ability of one’s heart to maintain cardiac output during times of exertion. Aortic stenosis becomes more common with age. When asked about prevention, Dr. Thornton says that unfortunately there’s not really anything at this time to prevent the cause, unlike other heart issues which can be affected by diet and exercise. Younger patients commonly have a history of chest radiation, rheumatic fever, or a congenitally bicuspid aortic valve.

Traditionally open-heart surgery to replace the faulty valve is required to fix this issue; however, TAVR is an option that is minimally invasive and has little downtime. A new heart valve, handmade from the tissue from a cow’s heart, is placed through a catheter and guided to the aortic valve through a main artery such as the femoral artery via the groin. Once in place, the collapsed valve is placed inside the old valve and expanded in the patient’s own aortic valve. These valves are very strong, durable and safe. Interestingly, should a patient every need another one, the same procedure is done replacing the TAVR with a new one. Once in place, the valve begins working and most patients experience immediate relief. Dr. Thornton specializes in this procedure and performs it right here at Thomas Hospital.

Dr. Chauvin is a graduate of the Oakland University with a bachelor of science in biomedical, diagnostic and therapeutic sciences. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. During his residency, he received the Outpatient Clinical Excellence Award for 2021.

Pediatric emergency physician joins USA Health

[MOBILE, AL] —Reshvinder Dhillon, M.D., recently joined USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital as a pediatric emergency medicine physician. He is also an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama.

Dhillon received his medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies. He completed residency training at the University of Buffalo in Buffalo, New York.

During the first year of residency, he thoroughly enjoyed his pediatric emergency medicine rotation and gravitated toward the specialty. He went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital/University of Buffalo.

[MOBILE, AL] — TInfirmary Health's Heart & Vascular Institute successfully performed the first transfemoral MViV, Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR), in the Mobile region. The procedure was performed by Chad McRee, M.D., structural cardiologist with Cardiology Associates, who was assisted by William Johnson, III, M.D., cardiothoracic surgeon with CardioThoracic & Vascular Surgical Associates, and the cath lab team at Mobile Infirmary.

TMVR replaces the mitral valve in the heart without needing conventional open-heart surgery. TMVR is minimally invasive and uses a catheter-based approach for patients whose existing mitral valve (native or prosthesis) is diseased and failing. The mitral valve is one of four valves in the heart. These valves ensure that blood flows properly in one's heart. Infirmary Health’s catheterization and open-heart surgical centers provide patients immediate surgical care to correct serious heart issues, including inserting stents and replacement valves.

USA Health Children's & Women's Hospital welcomes new pediatric emergency physician

[MOBILE, AL] — aul D. Schneider, M.D., recently joined USA Health Children’s & Women’s Hospital as a pediatric emergency physician. He is also an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama.

A native of Birmingham, Schneider earned his medical degree and completed his residency training in pediatrics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at the University of Louisville in Kentucky.

Schneider brings extensive experience in pediatric emergency medicine to his roles at USA Health and the Whiddon College of Medicine. Most recently, he worked in the pediatric emergency department at Niswonger Children's Hospital in Johnson City, Tennessee. Previously, he was an attending physician at East Tennessee Children's Hospital in Knoxville and Children's of Alabama in Birmingham. He also served on the clinical faculty at UAB as an assistant professor of pediatric emergency medicine.

He is board certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

USA Health welcomes sports medicine physician and pediatrician

[MOBILE, AL] — With a holistic approach to patient care, Sarah McMullin, M.D., recently joined USA Health as a sports medicine physician and pediatrician.

She is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama. She also serves as assistant director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program.

McMullin enjoys treating patients of all ages and encourages physical activity as a pathway to lifelong health. She said she prefers to take a multifaceted, personal approach to her treatment plans, considering the entire body and mind. She has a special interest in working with young female athletes, as she grew up dancing, figure skating and participating in track and field.

McMullin is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science, and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
