The Voorheesville Key Club Newsletter February 2017 February was an important month for our Key Club. We held a meeting on February 1st for officer nominations, and many Key Clubbers were nominated to run for each officer position. The club also agreed to show Moana at our Movie Night in March, to set a budget of $200 for concessions at that event, and to put $1000 towards helping officers and members go to Leadership Training Conference (LTC). We also had a special guest speaker: Gayle Farman, the owner of Passport for Good. She taught members how to put their hours on the website, and helped Key Club sign up its members who hadn’t made an account yet. Thank you, Gayle, for coming to speak to us! Officer elections were held the following Wednesday, February 8th. Each candidate gave a short speech in front of the club before attending members voted using ballots. After the votes were tallied, the new officers were announced. Congratulations to our 2017-2018 officers: President, Cassidy Danz; Vice President, Isabel Jobin-Davis; Treasurer, Abby Reilly; Secretary, Halle Niner; Editor, Sarah Bracken; Webmaster, Dante GilMarin; and Public Relations, Hannah Danz. 3rd and 7th. The next week, from the 13th to the 17th, Key Club also collected donations during lunch periods 6 and 7 for the Ronald McDonald House by selling the red hearts (and one gold heart) for one dollar each. All the hearts sold were displayed on the wall behind our table. In all, we were able to raise almost $120 for the Ronald McDonald House. The money collected as a part of McDonald’s annual Share a Heart campaign will go towards providing a home for families with seriously ill children being treated in local hospitals. Thank you to everyone who volunteered for and donated to the Ronald McDonald House. This month, Key Club would like to thank everyone who participated in officer elections—voters, nominees, and, of course, our newly-elected officers. We would also like to thank our outgoing officers for everything they have done for the club in the past year. Thank you to Principal Schmitz for overseeing the election process. And a special thank you goes to our advisor, Mrs. Bintz, who works so hard for our club. We really appreciate everything you do for us! From March 31st to April 2nd, Key Club
February 2017 officers and members will attend LTC. We have applied for a few awards, so keep an eye on our social media for updates!
