TWT READERS have a close affinity with the Parramatta River Rivercats as our readers named all the Rivercats from their introduction when Bruce Baird was Minister for Transport and Three Musketeers of Ivan Petch, Michael Photios and Andrew Tink were our local State MPs. They were nominated as Olympic class to be named after local female Olympians. First two were Dawn Fraser and Betty Cuthbert. Any winners still around? Continued Page 5

A packed meeting at Hunters Hill Town responded to an exclusive report in The Weekly Times which revealed that ferry operator Transdev is considering the Barangaroo option this month alongside the replacement of Rivercat ferries with new low wash boats. This shocking Barangaroo proposal will disadvantage hundreds of city workers who need the ferry to dock at Circular Quay to connect with other forms of transport including trains for the City Circle Line, light rail and buses. Transdev spokesman Craig Reick copped a barrage of protest at the Town Hall and is expected to cop more abuse at a meeting in GREENWICH tonight. SEE PAGE 5. PARRAMATTA CITY COUNCIL has also voted to object to the changes. SEE PAGE 16. Lane Cove MP Anthony Roberts has vowed to front Transport Minister Andrew Constance over the proposal with the support of Drummoyne MP John Sidoti. FULL STORY PAGE 18
