de rHeart KinMontessori Exceptional Infant & Toddler Daycare How is Montessori different from other preschool programs? In most preschools and kindergartens, a teacher teaches the children educational concepts in a group. In Montessori, children learn by having individualized lessons and then by working independently with specially designed materials in a prepared environment. The children advance through the materials from the simple to the complex, building on what they have accomplished.
WE’VE MOVED
There is a 3-year age mix in each class, so the children can learn from one another and become active role models.

Help us strive to our 100-millionth shoebox! The Canada-wide 2012 Operation Christmas Child shoebox collection season kicks off this October as thousands of individuals, families, churches, businesses, and community groups prepare to fill shoe boxes with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items, plus personal notes and photos. Each gift-filled shoe box collected in Canada will make a long journey to the outstretched hands of a needy child in Haiti, South or Central America, or West Africa. Last year, Canadians filled 672,274 shoe boxes of which Ridge Meadows collected 3,075 shoe boxes. This year, Operation Christmas Child is striving towards collecting and distributing our 100-millionth shoe box globally since the program began in 1993. Operation Christmas Child shoe box gifts are also collected in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the United States. Shoebox gifts are distributed in more than 100 countries, on six continents (all but Antarctica). To reach that goal, we are asking Canadians from coast to coast to pack shoeboxes during the next few weeks and together, we can use the power of a simple gift to touch the hearts of children and improve their lives. Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes are available at the Dollar Giant 207th and Haney Place Mall. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of children around the world! The week or so before November 11th takes on a life of itself in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows leading up to Remembrance Day. There are a number of meetings between Branch 88, Royal Canadian Legion, RCMP, the Fire Departments and Parks and Leisure to ensure that everything is in place for the official ceremonies in each community. The Colour Parties who lead the parades with flags flying are in a state of constant practice and rehearsal along the parade routes. This year, the parade in Pitt Meadows will have a very distinct emphasis on youth as the Colour Party there will be totally comprised of Navy, Air Force and Army Cadet Corps. All of this comes together at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, November 11th when the crowds lining the streets first hear the skirl of the pipes and know that the parade is underway. As the Veterans and members of many other service groups reach the Cenotaph, a quietness falls over the area as the time-honoured ritual of honouring those who gave their lives begins. Then at 11:00 a.m. the bugler sounds Reveille and then Lament. Two minutes of silence and then the stirring Arouse is played. Wreaths are laid and we renew our promise that we will always remember their sacrifice.
