Does What’s On? Work?? “It’s hard to say exactly when my first customer called in response to the ad I placed in the Blueberry Magazine (now What’s On?) but I don’t think it was more than 3 or 4 days. I always ask clients where they heard about J. Murphy’s Handyman Service and recently a significant portion of them are telling me it was my advertising with Blueberry. Besides affordable advertising, Jane and Sarah provide top notch customer service. I would recommend advertising in the What’s On? magazine to any small business in the area. Keep up the good work you guys! James Murphy www.jmurphyshandymanservice.ca

Shelly Shelley is a gentle, calm little cat who lost her first home at the age of seven months, the young children in the home were too much for her to cope with. She was then adopted into an adult home where she lived for the next six years. She lost that home when her people moved. She’s a tender-hearted little soul. This endearing little cat with the plush, soft coat will be a joy to someone in a reasonably quiet home. She is serene but she isn’t happy and we think she’s lonely for human company.

Shelly Cashmere is a dainty little cat who had the same home all her life and lost it when her family structure changed. She was devastated to lose her home. She gets along great with other cats and children. Cashmere is very gentle, sociable, lovable, and playful. Cashmere has mild epilepsy; her medication has been the lowest dose possible. Her seizures are rare and are short and light. It’s nothing that couldn’t be managed in a savvy home. In return for a loving home, Cashmere would give you all the devotion this sweet, Bambi-eyed cat has to offer.

We Are Exposed to Chemicals Everyday, It’s Time to Cleanse For Life!
It's almost impossible to know what's getting into your body and the health effects. It's equally impossible to try and shield yourself from all the toxins and impurities that exist in today's world. That's why regular cleansing with the Isagenix Cleanse for Life system is so essential. Age-old traditions of nutritional cleansing have now been combined with modern science and technologies. Isagenix has achieved this task with Cleanse for Life drink specialized to support the liver, the immune system and cellular health with vitamins, herbal teas and other botanical ingredients. The ingredients were chosen to help protect the body from daily pollutants and promote their detoxification. As a dietary supplement, Cleanse for Life can be taken daily for nourishment to help deal with daily toxic load and stresses. Alternatively, when taken as guided in the Cleansing and Fat Burning System— a program rich in nutrition and low in calories—one can reap benefits of "deep cleansing" and a sound approach to weight management. By giving your body the essential nutrients it needs to clean your system naturally, Cleanse for Life isn't a diuretic or laxative like other cleansing products. Instead, it helps flush out unwanted toxins naturally, cleansing your body on the cellular level and giving you the energy you need to get through your day. Discover health and wellness you never knew was possible with Cleanse for Life. Testimonial: “I love the Isagenix products for what they have done for my clients as well as my own body. I have always been fit and healthy but have struggled with the final few pounds. I was able to drop 10lbs and 10 inches on the 30 Day program. In addition to the results, I feel amazing! This is the healthiest I have been in my entire life!” Kyla Liva Personal Trainer Optimum Training Studio www.optimumtrainingstudio.ca

Bard on the
Bandstand - 2011 “The Comedy Of Errors” – A Gangster Caper directed by John Stuart A hilarious gangster caper placed against the backdrop of the Roaring 20’s, this particular Shakespeare comedy lends itself to a cartoon setting. Two sets of twins separated as young boys wind up in the same territory as the local godfather. With stereotypical characters and snappy music, confusion abounds as the dim-witted hoods try to sort out who they are making deals with and who they owe money to. Add in a little unrequited love and you have all the makings of a fun-filled frolic of “Shakespeare in the park”. Bring a blanket, lawn chair, your family, friends and a picnic supper and join us at Spirit Square in Pitt Meadows from July 14th – 17th and Memorial Peace Park in Maple Ridge from July 21st – 24th for Bard 2011
Grants Kick-Start
s e i t r a P k c Blo
The summer block party season is in full swing! Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Parks & Leisure Services has a limited number of $100 grants for neighbourhood block parties. Neighbourhoods all around our community are taking advantage of these grants to start new traditions of gathering and socializing.
Yamamoto recommends that you start by talking to a few neighbours and recruiting others to help. There is also an information kit available that gives step-by-step guidance. For more information contact Elaine Yamamoto at 604 306-0627 or elaineyamamoto@shaw.ca.
“The $100 Neighbourhood Celebration grant is available to any resident for expenses directly related to a neighbourhood party including invitations, food, game prizes and decorations. All we ask is that the party be an alcohol-free, family event that is totally inclusive of your neighbours,” said Elaine Yamamoto, coordinator of the program. “We also encourage organizers to collect contact information so that people can continue to benefit from knowing the people who live on their street or in their building or strata.
These are the people who are nearest to help when you need it. They can keep an eye out for you, your family and your property. They are the people who wave to your children. They’re also the ones who know you are not moving, so that truck loading your household valuables shouldn’t be in your driveway while you are at work.”

THE MAPLE RIDGE GARDEN CLUB
Mark down June 26, 2011 on your calendar because that’s the day for our “COUNTRY GARDEN TOUR 2011”. This is a self guiding Tour of eight private gardens in the Maple Ridge/ Pitt Meadows area. This is our fifth Garden Tour and all funds raised will go to, THE SUNSHINE FOUNDATION ‘DREAMS FOR KIDS”. To date we have raised over $39 thousand dollars for this worthy cause. Each garden has been chosen for its unique beauty. Enjoy peaceful ponds and wandering creeks. Peak through towering bamboo to view a huge “curtain” waterfall or be amazed by the diversity of perennials, “Veggie” gardens and greenhouses. Imagine fields of Lavender swaying in the breeze. Explore “park-like” settings and don’t miss the ducks, bunnies, chickens, Koi and goldfish. These gardeners are delighted to
share their creations with you. Their hard work and devotion is proven over and over in each yard. One of the gardens has been chosen as a “Picnic Site”. A beverage and goody will be provided, so bring along a lunch and Enjoy! Again, the Tour takes place on Sunday, June 26, 2011 from 9:00am to 4:00pm, rain or shine. The Tickets are $15.00 each and can be purchased at: Triple Tree Nurseryland, Amsterdam Greenhouses and Garden Centre, and Trice Farms Pond and Garden Centre. For more information or tickets contact: Margaret 604-4671885 or Gayle 604-467-2956 Please come and support a Good Cause and have a Great Day.
