There’s a new way to cocktail, and it begins in Phoenix. The new 36 Below is a fully immersive cocktail lounge, a Walipini speakeasy, an underground greenhouse bar, and the first of its kind in the nation. “We wanted to create a new, completely unique concept that allows guests to escape reality and indulge their senses,” explains Josh Kat, who co-owns it with Maurice “Moe” Murillo and Sheldon Wiley. The immersive experience includes the use of wall-to-wall video screens and audiovisual effects that transport guests to a new locale each season. Those who visit now will feel like they’ve been transported to Flagstaff, Arizona. To further enhance the experience, the 600-square-foot lounge interior will be reminiscent of a lush garden, filled with plants and flowers. And the menu?
