We’re “Rebooting in 2022”! Convention Notes
New dates
- This year’s convention will be Tuesday-Thursday during the school break between Christmas and New Year. We will be looking for feedback on which time frame is better for future conventions.
Registration/Junior Agreement
- There will be a registration fee for the convention again this year to help cover convention expenses and rental fees. This includes anyone that will be in the facility to watch a junior contest. Everyone will be required to stop at convention registration to sign up and receive a name badge. - Junior members will need to have a parent’s signature on the Junior Behavior Agreement. The form will be emailed to all juniors who are pre-registered to complete before they travel to convention. - Entry to all meetings, meals, dance and events will require a name badge to verify registration starting at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s Highlights
- We listened to feedback from the last in-person convention that having Dairy Jeopardy & Dairy Bowl is a lot for those participating in both and have scheduled them on separate days. We are also starting the first day activities later in the day to allow for travel time. - Junior Forum and District Caucuses - this is your chance to bring up items for discussion that you’d like to see changed or added to Junior Holstein programming, plus meet the new JAC candidates! - Hypnotist/Magician and Game Night: It’s always a hoot to see how your friends react when you get hypnotized, as long as it’s not you they’re laughing at! Friendly games will be set up to play like Corn Hole, Animal Bingo and others! - Scavenger Hunt: Throughout the convention, youth will have the opportunity to “moo”ve around and complete the scavenger hunt to win prizes.
Wednesday’s Fun & Games
- It’s Dairy Bowl day! Juniors will compete in the morning, along with senior and intermediate speaking contestants. - Following the Princess Luncheon, Senior & Rookie Dairy Bowl contests will commence while senior and remaining intermediate speaking participants compete. - There will be plenty of opportunities to earn points for the Premier County contest in the Activity Room. Be sure to stop back often to see what new activities are available!
Thursday’s Wrap-Up
- Drag your friends out of bed... winners from the Contest Room will be handed out, the grand prize for Ticketmaster will be drawn, and Bell-R-Ring and Spirit Award winners will be announced!
