A charter flight from San Diego delivers you to the lagoon of San Ignacio, a remote and pristine desert world – the perfect place from which to observe the gray whales in their winter breeding grounds. In between whale watching excursions, you can kayak through the labyrinth mangrove estuaries to bird watch in this natural aviary, or comb the peaceful shoreline to discover remnants of the sea. Our catered camp is situated at water’s edge with safari-style tents, cots, and solar-heated showers to make your days and nights comfortable and carefree. With delicious Mexican food and happy hour each evening, capture a lifetime of memories as you grow to love and respect the gray whales as much as we do. 8

The bottom was laying face up on the covered pool table, spread eagled and restrained on his back. Between his upraised arm and his head was a small bowl of alcohol that was being used as the fire source. The Top was dipping his fingers into the bowl, lighting them on a candle, spreading the fire on the happy sub, and then shaking the excess alcohol off his hand, thus extinguishing the fire and preparing him for the next dip in the bowl. towel and the alcohol bowl were on fire. I swiftly took the towel off the bowl, threw it on the cement floor and began doing a tarantella on the towel to put it out. The Top grabbed the bowl of alcohol and moved it away from the table. Unfortunately he did it a bit too quickly and a small amount of the alcohol spilled out of bowl onto the pool table cover. So now the bowl, the towel AND the pool table cover are all merrily ablaze, and the titleholder who had graciously volunteered his services as a demo bottom is trying to blow out the flames a few inches from his face, not with much success.Luckily the next pass of our efforts to stop from flambe’-ing the poor man were successful. No one was hurt, and nothing was damaged, except maybe our pride. Now, realize that this all took place in the period of about 5 seconds. We had all of the safety tools in place, damp towels, ice water, fire extinguisher, large towels to use as fire blankets and all the necessary 1st aid. And two, ahem, very able fireplay presenters were at the helm. BUT THE SCENE STILL WENT WRONG! The top was mortified, but after thinking about it for a few minutes I told him something that, at least partially, salved his pride. I said it was possibly the best thing that could have happened because we demonstrated that A SCENE CAN GO WRONG, but because we had all the necessary training and tools at our disposal the problem didn’t result in injury to the bottom. So next week I’ll discuss both physical and mental emergencies and what you should do about them.

THAT IS FUNNY This is a true story, a friend of mine who is (of course) gay, was also well known to be well, well endowed in fact, also a heavy drinker. After hitting all of the bars in Palm Springs and a few good ones in Cathedral city, he found himself sleeping in that alley next to a fancy restaurant. It became common knowledge that a drunk man was sleeping next to the bushes at a restaurant with his talleywacker in full view and his pants down around his ankles. What actually happened was that he passed out mid-piss and was now inadvertently exposed. One young couple approached with glee and decided to tie a yellow ribbon around his old oak tree. The next day i received a call and he told me excitedly his cock had won first prize again. I decided not to tell him. Heloise MARGINAL Helpful Hints If it’s too hot outside, find a corner to stand in. They are usually about 90 degrees If you’re feeling lost, clean the bathroom mirror. You will really see yourself doing that.

THE LAST WORD by George W. Zander Equality California continues it’s battle in Sacramento to gain more equality legislation fro LGBT folks. These issues may not seem as full of glamour as marriage, but they are all extremely important. Lives are made better through this work! The Equal Protection for All Families Act, authored by Assemblymember David Chiu and co-sponsored by Equality California, the National Center for Lesbian Rights, and Our Family Coalition, passed the California Assembly yesterday with unanimous support. The bill updates California assisted reproduction laws to help ensure that all families are protected equally under California law. AB 960, the Equal Protection For All Families Act, updates the state’s assisted reproduction laws to ensure all couples using assisted reproduction are fully recognized as parents as intended. Specifically, AB 960 would allow unmarried people using assisted reproduction to be fully recognized as parents on the same terms as married parents. Further, this bill would remove the requirement from family law that couples must involve a doctor when using assisted reproduction in order to ensure that the donor is not recognized as a parent. AB 960 also provides clear direction for how egg donors should be treated under California law. These important changes in the law will increase access to family building options by eliminating economic barriers.

“The Assembly’s actions yesterday take California a step closer to bringing its assisted reproduction laws to reflect today’s realities,” said Assemblymember David Chiu. “Many families, especially our LGBT families, are now formed using assisted reproduction. California law needs to rightfully recognize all couples as parents the moment their child is born.” “AB 960 is incredibly important to LGBT couples looking to plan and create their families in California,” said Rick Zbur executive director for Equality California. “With yesterday’s vote in the Assembly, California legislators reaffirmed the idea that families are created in various ways and they all should be valued and recognized equally under the law. We remain committed to seeing the Equal Protection for All Families Act passed and signed into law.” AB 960 will move to the Senate Rules Committee for referral to a Senate policy committee. The next policy committee hearing on the bill will be in late June or early July. For more details on this progress go to www.eqca.org. Thanks so much and to keep great folks who are on our side, please be sure you are registered to vote. Drop by Village Fest, or go on line at www.sos.gov.
