ADAMSARTEXPOSE’Douglas Simonson and the Male Form Dennis P. Bonola has lived in the Date Palm Country Club in Cathedral City for the past 14 years. Retired from American Airlines, he lives a contented life in a comfortable home, which he has completely remodeled and converted to his personal taste. He is also an artist in the very sense that an artist is one who takes risks and creates from their own heart and initiative. In addition to the decorative work he has completed in his home, he decided, a few months ago, to do something different and daring with the entrance from the side of his home which is a narrow hall with a variety of framed mementos. He wanted to add some attention drawing pizzazz to the wall. Working with blue painters’ tape he started forming random geometric shapes. Using a variety of leftover paint colors and sample paint bottles he painted inside of each shape with a different color that contrasted and correlated with the nearby shapes. Inspired by the results of this project, he elected to try a similar technique with the area between the top of the wall and the ceiling in his bedroom. Again using blue tape, he created a variety of shapes in the areas where crown molding would traditionally be put on the wall. The effect was a stunning and uniquely decorative addition to this room.

renowned art. His partner lives in Athens, Greece, where much of the inspiration for figure art and architecture that we enjoy originated. Art is in everyone. The projects Dennis completed are examples of what can be accomplished if you apply your own creative initiative. Dennis is available to collaborate with anyone who would like to get inspired. His email is: abear4u2@aol.com

year. I attend many Leather events each year, and I have to say that PSLOD puts on one of the best weekends I’ve seen, drawing crowds from all over the country, and even internationally. The event begins with registration and a Meet ‘n Greet on Thursday at Hunters Nightclub. Friday evening brings a formal Leather Dinner (that always draws raves for the food), followed by a Vendor Market/Cruise Party at the Tool Shed (one of the most anticipated events during the weekend). Saturday afternoon is packed with things to do, like a ‘Gar and Gear cruise party with cigars by Maximus with a BBQ/Beer Bust at The Barracks, and DESERT CRUCIBLE (we bring equipment, you bring toys and your imagination!).

Chicago in May, as well as their community throughout the year. Right after the contest, PSLOD and The Barracks hosts the Victory Dance/Cruise Party that will rock the roof, and on Sunday there’s a Pool Party/BBQ/Soaked T-shirt Contest as well as a brunch hosted by the women of PSLOD (a brand new party). The weekend long festivities are then capped off by bringing back the Closing Party, again at The Barracks.

The weekend’s VIP package is only $135, one of the best values around town - and indeed the country - of the entire year! So keep your eyes peeled for information about local bar feeder contests, and make sure you register for the weekend on the Desert Leather Pride website, www.desertleatherpride. com, starting Memorial Day weekend. Saturday night is the capstone event, the Get your packages early because it’s sure Mr. Palm Springs Leather Contest. JERSEY’S JOURNAL by Jersey Shore

FAME

Sometime I wonder, why bother. Why bother trying to be a good person, when eventually you get faulted for being good and bam, some jealous and insecure person steam rolls you right off the tracks? What I find completely amazing is that people will believe ANYTHING they hear. Because someone said it or it was written or online, it’s true? My motto is, “If you didn’t hear it come out of my mouth, then it’s not true.”

it’s the truth or not.

Only an idiot would know someone for over a decade, knowing that nothing is ever off limits, like faults, secrets, bad, good, and debatable habits. Then into the picture appears a fresh manipulating face in the mix and suddenly everything spewing out of their mouth (just to get ahead or become a star) like vomit is true? That just makes you look stupid, especially in the long run when the truth is revealed. I can’t fathom why people can’t see evil staring them in the eyes with the words “EVIL” across their forehead, and yet you fall into the web of lies and manipulation.

You can see all things Jersey Shore on Facebook or contact me via email @ Dragapalooza@aol.com

So, if you wonder why the world we live in is turning into a shithole, well, grow some balls and step up as a decent human being and stop being an inconsiderate idiot. Just sayin’, because I can and I have! Peace, Love, and Independent thinking, Jersey

If you are on this world, everyday should be a learning experience, especially after decades of life and years of experiences and interactions with people and making mistakes and learning from them, hopefully. That just shows your character, or lack of one. THE LAST WORD by George W. Zander International Transgender Day of Visibility March 31, 2015

Nationally and locally, a great group of folks celebrated and showed support of the Transgender Day of Visibility. TDoV is a day to show your support for the transgender community! We celebrated the accomplishments of transgender people around the globe and fighting ignorance and hatred with education. A lot of folks dropped by the Equality California office; some dropped by and some hung out for as long as they could. This is a day of empowerment and recognition! This was an EXCITING and FUN event for the transgender community! Here are some of the activities that were included: - Display of educational materials and inspiring transgender stories - Sign decorating inside; people made their own signs of support to put up or take home - Street activity out front, with transgender people and allies telling their stories and holding posters up for visibility - Snacks/munchies/water made available inside the Equality California office - Step and Repeat for social media visibility. There was a great group of Trans folks, and many allies showing support. Thomas Crowley from the Human Rights Cam-

paign, Mike Thompson and several staff from the LGBT Center of the Desert, Carol and Mike Balasa from PFLAG, Tori St. Johns from Desert Sands Unified School District, Rev. Kevin Johnson from Bloom in the Desert, and Paris Kessinger from Georgi’s Alibi Aluz Patio as well as KESQ and Tatiana Sanchez from The Desert Sun, along with many others! This year’s TDOV was organized by Trans* Community Project, EQCA, HRC Foundation, and The LGBT Center of the Desert. The holiday was founded by Michigan-based transgender activist Rachel Crandall in 2009 as a reaction to the lack of LGBTQ holidays celebrating transgender people, citing the frustration that the only well-known transgender-centered holiday was the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which mourned the loss of transgender people to hate crimes, but did not acknowledge and celebrate living members of the transgender community.
