DID YOU KNOW?
Leonardo da Vinci, one of the greatest painters and most versatile geniuses in history as well as one of the key figures of the Renaissance cultural movement. His Mona Lisa and his religious scene The Last Supper rank among the most famous pictures ever painted. And GAY! Yup Gay! Leonardo was arrested, more then once along with several young male companions, on the charge of sodomy AKA gay sex. No witnesses appeared against them and the charges were dropped. Famous da Vinci Quotes. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. Art is never finished, only abandoned. There are three classes of people: those who see, those who see when they are shown, those who do not see. Poor is the pupil who does not surpass his master. Men of lofty genius when they are doing the least work are most active.

ADAMSARTEXPOSE’ Hitchcock Body Casting
Had an enjoyable and memorable evening Saturday, February 7, attending the Hitchcock Body Casting event at Mischief Cards and Gifts on Arenas Road. Philip Hitchcock was welcoming guests at the door of Mischief. As a body casting artist, Hitchcock personally presents a handsome physique. Wearing cargo shorts and a sleeveless T-shirt, he gave the casual appearance of a working artist
in the Sistine Chapel. Philip and Marilyn hugged, wiping tears of remembrance as they viewed the photo of Christopher’s sculpted arm as part of the sculpture that immortalized him and his friend David. The sculpture was originally commissioned for the Holy Trinity Church in Los Angeles and was presented to Marilyn as a memento of her son. After this sentimental prelude, Hitchcock introduced the model, Christopher Bates, who was to pose for the body cast demonstration. The hunky physique model stripped down to his briefs. Hitchcock wrapped the model’s briefs with soft plastic wrap. He then added water and stirred a powder material, called alginate. This is commonly used by dentists to make castings of teeth. He then proceeded to put the alginate, about the consistency of cool whip, on the model’s upper torso. Using handfuls of the thick alginate he draped the model starting from the shoulders to the plastic wrapped area.
As he worked Hitchcock entertained the Following me in the door was a mature audience with humorous anecdotes and an couple. The lady introduced herself as overview of the history of his body casting Marilyn Larkin. She said to Hitchcock, “I work. FROM THE DESK OF THE PUBLISHER by Will Paige It’s amazing to watch the future unfold. If you are the type of person that holds equal parts in their hearts for the past and the present, you are probably equally delighted to watch the past and present mingle and procreate with a new thing or idea, as we are equally disturbed when progress removes choice and human interaction.
every book now in production uses the same technology, not radically different than the Gutenberg press or even further back to the first movable type developed in China by the Han Chinese printer Bi Sheng in 1041. Johannes Gutenberg was a metals expert and was able to use that knowledge to vastly improve on existing technology of the past. We all know how these improvements created a wide circulation of books, but more so the information and ideas were exchanged that Einstein termed the “agent of change.” Some would call it luck or the rich getting richer, but to others it gave the means, knowledge and ability to increase their share of fortune. The new printing press then is the internet, in its ability for assembling pictures and text in a new way but with a new dimension of depth of study to rival all the world’s libraries at the tips of your fingers.
Yesterday I read how a person ordered a book on Amazon only to see it was printed and shipped on the same day it was ordered. We call this demand print, but I think no one but Amazon could turn it all on in such a shot time. But here you are, looking for that book you used to own or based on some suggestion and you click, order it, add your credit cards, and then wait for the mail to deliver it a few days later. But the amazing part is that somewhere, in a quiet factory, an enormous machine becomes operational, devoid of life, not even caring what is being printed. No huSo yeah, it’s a big deal, Amazon printing on mans will come between you and the post demand, but they, like Google, will not stop man or woman, just clicking a machine to improvements. tions are using open source development that is now and will soon eclipse all that we know about how inventions will come. We must embrace open source to avoid the terrible loss of small to mid-sized business like mom and pop stores we witnessed all across the nation over twenty years ago. We must remember that a true quality of life exists between the merchant and the customer that will never exist in a company that takes e-mail only as a convenience to it customers. We must look to the new millennials, with their tremendous technology skills and love for social media. These young people that have never lived in an HIV-free world since the illness was first diagnosed in humans. They are now entering the world of development, starting with small projects and building on successes after successes until they begin to imagine. Of these will emerge a new Einstein, and that person mind will soar as they begin to realize their potential to design and develop a technology to meet some future need as those are coming to a point when they will desire it. CHEERS: COCKTAIL ATTIRE PALM SPRINGS These days, a cocktail party can be anything from a swanky society affair to a low-key group of friends gathered around a pool eating crudités. But if it says, “Palm Springs” its Dressy-Palm Springs-Mid-Century-Modern-Age-Approriate-cum-casual, but you might go swimming. Still confused? So are we! Best bet avoid fabrics that are too casual, like chino, Football Jerseys-any logo, and denim unless cut off above the thigh. HINT! Wear your sexiest underwear because every “Palm Springs Cocktail Party” ends with a private “Pool Party” were loyalty is proven and promises made are kept.

LE
LEATHER REALM by Dave Murdock Leather Politics No, I don’t mean politics in the sense of democrat or republican, but the rather more complicated politics that surrounds the leather lifestyle. I’m not even sure that politics is the right word, but it comes closer than any other I can think of. The complications arise because there aren’t just 2 or 3 parties, but a plethora of ideals that leathermen revolve around. But first, let’s set the scene… Perhaps because it was my coming out period, I tend to think of the 70’s as the heyday of public Leather sex with institutions like the Mineshaft perched in the center of New York’s meat packing district (which was very apropos). For those of you who have only heard of the Mineshaft but never ascended its fabled stairs I can only say that it was a fetishists’ dream. I remember climbing those stairs for the first time, a very nervous 20 something, and, upon paying my entrance fee (I declined to check my clothes that first night), I walked into what, at first glance, was a small, dark bar. I remember thinking “This is what the fuss is all about?” But as my eyes grew accustomed to the dark I saw a black leather curtain in the corner of the room being swept aside by an exiting leather stud. Curious, I followed him into the next room which was, if anything, even darker. Now this was more like it. There certainly was a lot of
sex going on, but basically it was vanilla sex, a lot of sucking and fucking, but pretty tame. THEN I saw a stairway descending down to another level. For all of those innocents it should have had a sign over it that said “Sexually Abandon Yourself All Ye Who Enter Here.” I decided to explore. At the bottom of the stairs a small dimly lit anteroom gave way to a huge room, in which the first thing that caught attention being a row of 8 or 10 bathtubs, in which lounged men were involved in water sports among other things, some naked, some fully clothed. I do remember thinking I wouldn’t want my leathers sitting in those tubs, however would you get them clean again? On the other side of a dividing wall, a maze of private and public rooms filled with slings, cages, crosses, in short, everything a budding leather man into SM could want. I don’t remember what I did that night, but I do remember coming out of there as the sun was rising and the butchers were bringing in the meat carcasses from the refrigerator trucks and hooking them into the meat processing plants around the neighborhood. I don’t want to seem wanton, but I began to know the butchers by their first names… <grin>. I fondly remember taking a college chum there when he first moved to NYC. He was so excited, so turned on to get there he was almost dragging me down the street. Once we went downstairs and turned the corner to the tubs he latched Continued on page 48

WINDSYNC QUINTET TO THRILL VALLEY MUSIC LOVERS ON FEB. 24 The “revolutionary chamber group” WindSync are the featured performers in the Palm Springs Community Concert Association’s second concert event of 2015. This Houston based quintet is said to inspire audiences through unique, interactive chamber concerts that are unique in their outreach appeal. They have pioneered unconventional performance practices and are dedicated to teaching tolerance through music education in schools. The program begins at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 24 at the Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs, one of the best venues in the desert for comfort and acoustics. Tickets for the performance are available at the door for $20. (Tickets for the entire season are just $50.) 44
This unique quintet has thrilled audiences nationwide with its fresh approach to classical music. Critics praise them for being “innovative, unconventional and exciting,” playing from memory and creating dramatic musical interpretations with costumes, masks and choreography. With every new project, the quintet has expanded its repertoire, commissioning new works and showcasing a wide array of original arrangements of classical masterworks. Often called “the best kept secret in the desert,” PSCCA is a grass roots association of music lovers which plans and finances its season by advance subscription and dontions and offers complimentary reciprocal participation in the concert events of eight other Southern California “sister cities” in the Community Concert family. For more information or to become a subscribing member, visit the website www.psconcerts.org or call the office at 760 770-0774.

Hot, raunchy edgeplay sex was rampant, it was everywhere, it was hot, it was fun and it was plentiful. 2 ways, 3 ways, orgies, whatever…and that was just the beginning of the evening. “OK”, I hear you ask, “What the hell does this have to do with Leather politics?” Well, it means everything, and it means nothing. It means nothing because the sex had little to do with leather etiquette, leather families, or leather roles and rules. It had everything to do with Leathersex and the hot Leathermen you undertook it with. Everything because the uninhibited sex was such an

WEEKLY GUIDE TO THE STARS ARIES (March 21-April 19): Spokes on the wheel aren’t always easy to just grease. Toss some elbow work in if you want the gears to turn. TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Silence is only golden when it’s warranted. If you see something out of the ordinary, speak your mind. Don’t regret the quiet later. GEMINI (May 21-June 20): Cautious and steady isn’t always the most practical of methods. Mix it up a little bit. Taking a risk now and then can pay off. CANCER (June 21-July 22): There’s change in the air. Grasp it now before it escapes out the window. You might not know if there’ll be more on the horizon.
LEO (July 23-Aug 22): Test your mind every day. The brain can be just as much a muscle as the rest. But it still needs to be flexed. VIRGO (Aug 23-Sept 22): It can feel like love is just out of reach, but still in the eye’s view. If there’s someone you’re secretly feeling things about, gauge theirs towards you. LIBRA (Sept 23-Oct 22): Every so often, the staleness and stagnation of routine can seem maddening. Tweak a few details here and there to stave off the inanity. SCORPIO (Oct 23-Nov 21): Tough times are hardly new, with or without a recession. Tighten up your purse-strings now in order to enjoy the fruits later.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22-Dec 21): Finding something perplexing? Take a step back and ask for someone else to take a stab. Fresh eyes are better than weary ones. LIBRA (Sept 23-Oct 22): Stress can build up over time if you let yourself bottle it in. Find outliers for the strain. Take a run or hit the gym. Release the excess. AQUARIUS (Jan 20-Feb 18): Be smart about your next moves. Life can be a bit like chess; a pawn can become a queen, but it can also be easily slain. PISCES (Feb 19-March 20): Moderation can be your friend just as much as it can be your enemy. Too much and you’re overdoing it. Too little and you feel empty.

JERSEY’S JOURNAL by Jersey Shore All of my world is a stage. And since I have this stage I must utilize it and create the best shows I can. Give people new and interesting entertainment and to challenge myself, as well. When I leave this earth I hope I deserve a huge standing ovation! I just need to put the work into it. Now I am at a good place in my life when I can start being more creative that I ever was, and obviously more than I have been recently, which is null, none, zero! When I plan a show I don’t just pull a dress and do a song. I put actual thought into it. If I have 4 numbers that night, I tried to do a flashy showgirl headdress number, a dance number, some comedy, a ballad. I try to give different looks and stylized routines. There is nothing most unsatisfying than standing there in a dress mouthing words. So, as I go through the many, many pastis tubs I have never even cracked open in five years I seem to find unfinished projects of headdresses and costumes and whatever I want to turn them into.
er. When life brings you down, just add glitter. On a special note, no matter how many times you wash your face or whatever area you glitter...your ass? It will be there many, many days afterwards. I can attest to that. I’ve even shit glitter a few times. Don’t ask!!!! NO, I wasn’t screwing a fairy. Unless he was a butch one with no lisp. So, glitter and be gay. Glitter and be straight. THE LAST WORD by George W. Zander The Last Word By George Zander Governor Wallace is alive. Send in the National Guard!! For those of you who forgot or weren’t yet born..
Jan 11 1963. President John F. Kennedy issues presidential proclamation 3542, forcing Alabama Governor George Wallace to comply with federal court orders allowing two African-American students to register for the summer session at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. This will be looked at as the “Thank Jesus we can have black people playing football now.” action. The proclamation ordered Wallace and all persons acting in concert with him to cease and desist from obstructing justice. Backwards a few years and on September 4, 1957, the first day of school at Central High, a white mob gathered in front of the school, and Governor Orval Faubus deployed the Arkansas National Guard to prevent the black students from entering. In response to Faubus’ action, a team of NAACP lawyers won a federal district court injunction to prevent the governor from blocking the students’ entry. With the help of police escorts, the students successfully entered the school through a side entrance on September 23 1957. Fearing escalating mob violence, however, the students were rushed home soon afterward. Eisenhower ordered troops from the Army’s 101st Airborne Division and the Arkansas National Guard (take that Gov’ner) to protect the students, who were shielded by federal troops. Fast Forward again...to now.
Some counties have refused marriage today in face of federal law. President Obama needs to muster the National Guard now and open up marriage in the counties breaking the law! The President hasn’t had to do that yet, as many Alabama Court Houses are now opening. In Arkansas the Legislature went back to 1977 and re-introduced Anita Bryant tactics. Lawmakers have approved legislation that prohibits cities and counties from implementing anti-discrimination policies for LGBT people. The measure was inspired by the successful effort to repeal a non-discrimination ordinance in Fayetteville, the first in the state. So, two of our least favorite states are taking us back in time. These folks have not stopped fighting the War Between the States. They think that they are just resting and they will win the next round. The best thing for us to do is if you have some extra money, send it to organizations in those states. If you have some time volunteer! AND REGISTER TO VOTE. These folks won’t ever give up!.
