We all know that right now matrics are starting their finals and everything is about to come to an end for them, but let's backtrack a little and unpack some of the matrics' best memories of high school, as well as some advice they have for the other grades. Here I interviewed Khanyi Kamisa in grade 12 to see what she has to say about the beginning of the end.

Questions and answers with Khanyi Kamisa

How would you describe your high school experience? Well I'd say it's been a lot like hills and valleys where sometimes the valleys are deep, deep trenches. So, highs and lows mostly.

What are some things or lessons you wish you learnt before entering high school?

I wish that I had gotten into the rhythm of working hard right from the beginning like in grade 8 because the more used to working hard you are right from the beginning the easier it'll be when it counts.

What have been your 3 most memorable high school experiences?

Well the grade 8 orientation, grade 9 camp and my matric ball definitely.

How are you -as a matric- feeling about the upcoming exams/ finals?

Nervous mostly, but honestly I feel that we have gotten sufficient preparation, support and encouragement from our amazing teachers and parents. Lastly, I would like to encourage all matrics out there to relax, do their best and trust in the process.
