REGIONAL DIRECTORS REPORT We welcome the three leagues to Millicent this weekend for the seventh Limestone Coast Regional Carnival and wish all players, coaches, officials, sponsors and support staff a very successful and enjoyable carnival. Season 2020 brought a great deal of change due to Covid 19 with the 3 leagues choosing not to par cipate with a senior compe on. This saw the forma on of the Limestone Coast Football League with teams from all 3 leagues playing in a shortened season culmina ng with Mundulla defea ng South Gambier in the grand final. It has been very important to get the 3 leagues up and running for the 2021 season as the football and netball gives our community the opportunity to play and support their teams. This year sees a change in the format of the carnival with the introduc on of the Under 15 teams joining the Under 17 and seniors on the one day. The junior teams play in a round robin format and the senior game between the WBFL and MSEFL. The senior game will rotate between the leagues over the coming years and be played over 4 quarters. We hope all players enjoy the opportunity to represent their leagues and to test themselves against the best players from each league. As we all know sponsorship is the lifeblood of sport and we greatly appreciate the ongoing support of Infigen Energy as our Major Sponsor for the carnival along with Associate Sponsors NBC Financial Services and klas bilt. We thank them all for their support and hope you support these sponsors as it benefits all. The carnival is now a prominent part of the football calendar on the Limestone Coast with great rivalry between the three leagues at senior and junior levels. This has proven to be a great breeding ground for the elite juniors in our zone and Glenelg Football Club. We thank the Glenelg Football Club for their con nued support of the junior carnival and hope a number of our players get the opportunity to represent the Glenelg Football Club in the future.
Players compe ng in the Limestone Coast Regional Carnival will have the opportunity to be selected in the Murray South East Zone team which will contest the South Australian Country Championships being played in Victor Harbor on the 10th and 11th July 2021. Once again, we will have a men's and women's team compete at the carnival and we wish the men's coach Adam Merre and women's coach Michael Hunt and their teams a successful weekend. I wish to acknowledge the efforts of everyone involved in preparing teams for this year's carnival including the League Representa ves who make up the management group for the carnival, to the Umpires, Volunteers and League Execu ves for their hard work and dedica on to ensure this weekend is a great success. I wish to acknowledge the work of Michael Summers and Don Bu erworth and the WBFL Execu ve along with the Millicent Football Netball Club and the Limestone Coast Regional Carnival Management Commi ee in preparing, coordina ng and managing the carnival. There has been a lot of work done in trying to con nually improve the carnival and a big thank you to all involved. We trust all in a endance at the Limestone Coast Regional Carnival will enjoy the compe ve football played, catch up with many old friends and enjoy the best on offer of South East football. Looking forward to seeing you all next year when the event returns to the MSEFL, and my best wishes to all for the rest of the year. All the very best to all teams. Sco Duncan Murray South East Regional Football Advisory Council Member

LIMESTONE COAST REGIONAL CARNIVAL This is the seventh year the carnival has been held, where the best representa ves of the three south east leagues go head-to-head. Prior to the carnival, interleague matches were held against various teams from around SA and Victoria. History of the South East zone carnival shows that the KNTFL & WBFL have been the most successful leagues winning the carnival three mes. Mid South East although not securing a tle yet has come very close on two occasions both in 2016 and 2018 both narrowly defeated by strong KNTFL ou its and again in 2019 going down to WBFL. Previous player of the carnivals include Brad Mitchell (Naracoorte - KNTFL), Simon Berkefeld (Penola - KNTFL) & Gerard McGrath (Hatherleigh - MSEFL) 2017, Cameron Sandercock (Border Districts - KNTFL) 2016 , Bre O’Neil (South Gambier - WBFL) in 2015, 2017 & 2018 and Ben McIntyre (Penola - KNTFL) back in 2014 . A highlight of the carnival is the addi on to each league having to showcase five players under the age of 21 to showcase some of the young talent from around the region.
Previous winners of the under 21 award from each league include Western Borders Jonah Grimes (Millicent) 2018, 2019, Declan Carmody (North Gambier) 2017, Jesse Pfitzner (West Gambier) 2016, Jak Ryan (South Gambier) 2015 and Brad Bryant (South Gambier) 2014. From the KNTFL previous winners include Reagan Tink (Bordertown) 2019, Cody Woolford (Keith) 2018, Sco Merre (Penola) 2016 & 17, Tom Williams (Penola) 2015 and Patrick Baker (Lucindale) 2014. The MSEFL’s previous under 21 award winners include Jake Wehl (Robe) in 2018, 2019, Mitch Lowe (Kalangadoo) in 2017, Jack Casey (Kalangadoo) in 2016, Ma Kaspanian (Glencoe) in 2015 and Jack Dawe (Tantanoola) in 2014. What’s pleasing to see is a number of these players s ll represen ng their leagues at this level and a few even furthering their football at a higher level. It will be great to watch this years crop of youngsters compete and get a vison of what the future holds for representa ve football in this region.

WBFL PRESIDENT’S WELCOME Welcome to the 2021 Limestone Coast Regional Carnival
are all very confident that they have put together a more than compe ve unit for this style of game.
A er a year of ups, downs, starts and non-starts it is fantas c to be able to bring back some tradi onal rivalry in football, and no rivalry goes further than that between the Western Border Football League and our MId South East neighbours. To be able to put a full game together against what we an cipate will be a strong opposi on is indeed a privilege and the 2021 WBFL seniors side consists of 5 very talented Under 21 players that add to the impressive number of debutants in their first Interleague opportunity.
The Under 15's under the outstanding guidance of Brad Maney (Penola Snr Assistant coach and Tenison Woods College HPE teacher & Year 9 Wellbeing Coordinator) along with George Kidman, Nathan Stra ord and the leadership of Adam Salmon and all of the WBJFL Commi ee, also have a very strong team put together and the inclusion of players such as Mitchell Bright from Casterton Sandford, Kobe Gibson & Jack Hagge of Millicent, North Gambier’s Angus & Kade Allen, Lowani Coleman, Deacon Ilsley, South Gambier’s Jacob Salmon, Josh Younger and Dean Harten topped up with Elijah Stra ord, Jack Lawrence and Angus Clarke from East will certainly give the Mid SE and KNTFL players a real workout.
The mix of youth and experience looks great, and under the leadership and guidance of seasoned campaigner Jus n Munro as coach, Ma Willson Assistant coach and Captain and players with the experience of Rumbelow, Forster, Powell and Kain just to name a few, combined with the youth of Kitschke, Reid,Bradley, Wills and Shanks this WBFL is indeed one of the most exci ng we have seen for several years. Whilst the senior game compliments and completes this fantas c day of footy at Millicent, The early games of Under 17.5 games against the Mid SE and KNTFL will see some very promising young players display the natural and hard earned talents. These Junior players who are the future of all of the leagues, will have the opportunity to use this day as a possible door to their futures will all be very keen to impress. The Under U17.5 line up includes the talents of a few players from all 3 leagues currently playing at Glenelg so these games will be of a very high standard. Players to watch for WBFL will be Adam McKinnon from Casterton Sandford, Henry Gould and Adam Prosperi-Porta from North, Mitch & Ethan Sims along with Tyrone Rainer from South, Ethan Gladman from West and the talented group from Millicent of Jaxon Cushion, Kade Varcoe, Ty Lang just to name a few. The U17.5's are coached by Jason Dunn and his crew of Craig Robinson from Millicent, Jay Lane from West
The day is a lead up to the SE Zone teams and we welcome the representa ves and support by the SANFL in Michael Mourbey, Heath Sims and the guidance of Sco Duncan from the SANFL Community footy team. These games could not go ahead without the fantas c efforts of our behind the scene team so thank you to all the volunteers led by Joel Redman at Millicent. Also to Graham Gill our WBFL Interleague Coordinator your leadership and management is truly appreciated, also to our selectors Malcolm Lockwood, Duncan McGregor, Adam Salmon and Peter Collins, thank you. We also send a huge thank you to the Trainers Anthony Bull, Sco Whicker, Jim Fleming, Gavin Riddle and our excellent team managers in Jack Jennings, Craig Robinson, Adam Salmon, and Jonathon Lillecrapp for your assistance and advice. On behalf of the Western Border Football League board, I wish all compe ng teams the best of luck. Regards Michael Summers WBFL President
WBFL COACH’S REPORT First of all I would like to thank the WBFL for giving me this opportunity to coach, being a part of the interleague team is a huge honour for all involved. A big thank you to the Millicent Football and Netball Club for hos ng today’s event, and all the hierarchies above for making this event possible. To all the players, thank you for your commitment thus far, it is a great opportunity for all players involved. Especially the younger players as these formats can be a great stepping stone to bigger and be er opportuni es. Also to the more seasoned campaigners to keep their football at a higher standard and look at gaining selec on on the SE Zone squad. There are a lot of new faces in our team this year and we believe that we have got a good mix of youth and experience. Playing in an Interleague game is second to none, other than playing in a grand final. I wish all par cipants, the best for today, as it will be great watching the best footballers in the region, as well as the new young talent coming through. May the best team win.
U17.5 What a great opportunity all of the aspiring and talented footballers of the region have today to showcase their abili es and passion for our wonderful game. I am very thankful to be able to coach such an amazing group in 2021. These games today will certainly open doors for the talent that is here within the South East and Limestone coast. The challenge of playing against their peers always brings out the best in people and this is no different. Congratula ons to all of the players that have been chosen to represent their respec ve leagues and to the guys that missed final selec on, s ck with it! Today we will be up against 2 very proud and compe ve Leagues and can take nothing for granted and we are confident that the leadership of Henry Gould and Darcy Hunt as our leadership group backed up by the talent of players such as Adam McKinnon from Casterton Sandford, Ty Lang of Millicent, Lachlan Thiele from South Gambier and Joey Judd from West Gambier just to name a few. We appreciate and thank the SE Zone, Western Border Football League and the SANFL for ge ng behind this great game of ours. Good luck to all the Leagues, let's have a very enjoyable day and play the game in the spirit it deserves!

MSEFL PRESIDENT’S WELCOME On behalf of the Mid South Eastern Football League thanks to the Execu ve of the WBFL & KNTFL juniors for their co-opera on and involvement in today’s football matches at Millicent for a changed South East Zone Carnival format.
contest and also acknowledge the Bendigo Bank, Sco Group of Companies, IDM Sports, JS Sports, First Super, Infigen Energy, Collin’s Court Butchers and Ma hews Petroleum as our major interleague sponsors along with all of our other season sponsors.
As a League we are looking forward to the contests today as it allows our best footballers in underage and senior level an opportunity to play representa ve football at a higher level. The friendships and acquaintances that will be made and renewed should allow for fond memories for a long me.
I thank Sco Duncan for his reless efforts keeping the Carnival strong and an event that is important for all three Leagues on their football calendars. Sco 's passion and ongoing enthusiasm for both our Carnival and the Country Championships is resolute and has been testament to our great success as the Murray South East side has been the bench mark zone in the past 10 Country Championships.
Senior Coach Ben McGregor and his support staff have a keen and talented young squad. The zone selectors will have an opportunity to s e l e c t a n i n i a l s q u a d fo r t h e C o u n t r y Championships from the two Leagues with others to be named from the River Murray Football League and KNTFL. The 15 & under & 17.5 and under sides will test the skills of the juniors of all Leagues, and I believe will have as much interest as the senior match and we will see the naming of a team of the carnival for both these age groups, players that have performed the best on the day from all three leagues. Thank you to Shane Kelly and his team for all the work done to get to today. We know the South East of SA football communi es will venture to Millicent in their droves to see seven compe ve games of Football.
Many thanks also to the parents, partners and friends who have supported the players and thank you to our nine member clubs that have allowed their players to represent our League. To all players from the Mid South Eastern Football League, thank you for your commitment in represen ng your League and hopefully you all get enjoyment and sa sfac on from the challenge of the matches. I trust we have compe ve games throughout the day but most importantly the game is played in the right spirit and football is the winner on the day. I wish everyone a successful day, no injuries to any players and a safe return home. Peter Mitchell Mid South Eastern Football League President

MSEFL COACH’S REPORT Today at Millicent the South East Zone Carnival takes on a slightly different format, with both senior, 17 & under and 15 & under matches being played.
To the League board, thanks for offering me the opportunity to coach and lead this team once again, and for your ongoing support throughout the campaign.
The senior match today against the WBFL over a full four quarter match is an exci ng and new concept and one which I am extremely pleased to be a part of.
To all club coaches who have given input and feedback at different stages over the past month, I thank you for your assistance, especially to fellow selectors in Zacc Cocks and Jase Faulkner who have a great background in representa ve football and their input has been invaluable.
Once again, we have deliberately brought quite a young squad into the carnival, along with the right balance of experienced campaigners that we think can give us a compe ve edge today, with plenty of fresh faces amongst the 2021 squad. The support of all clubs and respec ve coaches in 2021 has been nothing short of fantas c, so I thank you all for backing the MSEFL in the concept of I nterlea gu e fo o t b a ll, a n d I ’m s u re yo u r represented players will do you proud today. The buy-in of all players over the past couple of weeks on the training track, and their commitment to the cause has been excep onal which has allowed us an extensive squad to pick from.
