becky duivenvoorde kongorong netball club

Becky Duivenvoorde first joined the Kongorong Netball Club in 2022 as part of the U17s and filled in for the B Res team. In 2023 Becky was again a part of the U17s team which saw her take away the coach’s trophy

This year is Becky’s first full year in seniors. Becky has played an important role in the team this year. Her shoong accuracy is outstanding but also the ability to get major turnovers midcourt shows why she is such an aribute to have to the team and the club.

It has been such a pleasure to know you and coach you this season. The team and club are lucky to have someone like you.

GLENCOE MURPHIES CLUB NOTES

FOOTball NETball

Last game of the minor rounds with two of our four teams advancing to the finals with our Reserves and Senior Colts making the finals. Our Reserves take on Kalangadoo this week in a do or die clash and our Senior Colts have worked hard to secure a top two finish, heading straight to the second semi. We would like to thank the volunteers and sponsors that support our football club, your ongoing support is greatly appreciated.

Under 11: Last game of the year and the boys were keen as mustard. Thanks to Bo and Dion for doing a splendid effort this season. Bo and Dion have jumped into the U11's and Auskick coaching roles with great enthusiasm and top leadership, the kids have had an great me learning, training and playing under you both. Thank you.

Junior Colts: Coming into the game we were keen to get back on the winners list to finish the season, we did this in style winning by 40 points. Musical magnets ensured everyone moved around and connuing to play new posions, it was a great way to finish the season. Best for the day was captain Hamish who also sloed seven goals. He also won the league leading goal kicking with this - congratulaons Hamish. Next best was Sam, Harley, Ryley, Max E and Jack. A season capped off with a win aer playing four quarters of football, this was an important team goal to finish the season with.

Senior Colts: Two top clash was going to be tough. The first term we controlled the ball but failed to convert truly. The Burr got going in the second and beat us to the ball and kicked accurately in front of goal. The second was even stevens but the margin from the second quarter was too great to reel in, losing by 37 points.

We look forward to playing the finals and another great contest in two weeks' me. Best for the day was Lachy, Bailey, Les, Max, Tighe and Patrick.

Reserves: Drawing last round meant we were keen to go that lile bit harder and get the full four points. We started the first term well but inaccuracy kept the margin closer than it needed to be. During the second term we took control. Next me Tom will posion himself front and centre of Dane instead of leading into his path. Aer having the stuffing knocked out of him, Tom returned not long later and connued to impact the game. Top effort Tom. The experience mixed with a touch of youth certainly see the fellas playing some great football. An eventual margin of 50 points was a great way to finish off the minor round. Best was captain Jason who is having a seriously good year, Jacob, Trent, Darcy, James and Ben.

Seniors: Wanng to take a scalp to finish the season and build some momentum for the next season, we started well with an even first quarter. We came out the blocks slong the first three in five minutes then the Burr took over for a bit and kicked a few. Second term we owned the ball and did not convert, unfortunately resulng in some frustraon leading to many free kicks against us. The Burr killed it in the second half with our lack of discipline. Our best footy matches it with any side, we just need to keep in the game for the full four quarters. Best was Dylan, Sam, Zacc, Declan, Will and Henry. We look forward to seeing you all at the football next season.

Good luck to all teams playing finals. Go the Murphs!

Junior 2: Can you believe we have played our final game, and our season is over! It has gone so quickly. The improvement each player has made has been phenomenal. We started playing some fantasc netball, with all players contribung to geng the ball into the goal circle. The improvement is a credit to how well we have listened at training and then implemented this learning into the games. I have really enjoyed coaching this season and geng to know these wonderful girls. Best players for the final game went to Iva and Adele for their big hands at GK and run through the midcourt at C, however, everyone played so well. I hope you enjoyed the cupcakes! I look forward to celebrang our season soon with our breakup and presentaon day

Junior 1: To finish the season off with such an amazing game by everyone, I could not be prouder of you all! It slowly got warmer, but you all pushed through and kept fighng ll the last whistle. Shooters Billy, Shelby, Mikayla and Paige were amazing and had a go every me they stepped in the circle, somemes it worked and somemes it didn't, but there was some amazing shots by everyone and Shelby took a massive stack, but you got straight back up and got the goal. Defence worked relessly all game and Ruby I think that was your best half all season, your efforts didn't stop all game! Charloe you stepped into C unexpectedly and got the first intercept of the quarter, you also had lots of touches and second efforts. Encouragement went to everyone, it was a great second half and such an amazing way to finish the year with lots of smiles, talking, touches and backing everyone up. Best went to Mikayla, you went into defence for the first me this season and you sloed in and worked hard to get the rebounds and when you switched to GA you had perfect drives and worked hard all game. Thank you to the players and parents, it's been a pleasure to coach such a good bunch of players!

13 & Under: Glencoe 22 lost to Mt Burr 47. Unfortunately, Mt Burr got on top of us early in the first quarter and once they had the upper hand, we lost our confidence and put ourselves under pressure. The court was congested, and we looked sideways instead of looking down the court. We need to remember our basic principles to come forward to the ball as we were leading behind. Our third quarter was more compeve to our credit which is how we need to play this week. Finals is now here so let's regroup, enjoy ourselves and try our best from here on in. Best player went to Abbie (Key 2 Sale), second best Jaylee (Harper and Co) and Jaz got the encouragement award (Café 72).

15 & Under: Glencoe 53 defeated Mt Burr 30. Great game girls! Was a solid 4 quarters. Feeding into the circle was great but we do need to keep working it around and using the easy opon so to not force it in. Defence was strong and their many turnovers and touches enabled us to score. Chasing up of loose balls was great and our backing each other up was good to see. Strong game by everyone! Best players were Layla Hawke, Kloe Phillips, Ella Stewart, Violet Thorne and encouragement Ruby Buckley

& Under:

79. Well done girls. A great effort for our last game which we knew was going to be tough! I made plenty of changes and you all adapted well. We had plenty of great passages of play. I'm very proud of every single one of you for the improvement you have made throughout the season. Best players went to Montana Biggins and Amelie Cary

B Reserve: Glencoe 42 defeated Mount Burr 34. Well done girls on geng a win for our last game of the season! We were happy to take the win and finish off strong. With three of our girls off with injury and illness, it was great to have our 17's players fill their spots and all three sloed into our team seamlessly. Thank you so much to Alyssa, Maddy and Montana! Best players were Caitlyn and Alyssa. Thanks to all our volunteers throughout the year who scored, med and wore the green armband, special menon to Joyce Clegge who scored both B Grade and B Res each week. Thanks to the girls for another great year, despite not making finals, we improved as a team, and had fun while doing it. Hoping for and looking forward to taking it further in 2025.

B Grade: Glencoe 48 defeated Mount Burr 47. What an excing last game to end the season! Disappoinng to fall just short of finals finishing 5th overall but glad we've ended the season on a high. Our last game against Mt Burr was a great team effort, with everyone on the court giving their best effort to win. Standout players were Kate for her defensive efforts - including a match winning turnover! And Jorja for her movement in the ring all day and for slong the goal that maered most. A big thank you to Joyce for scoring each week this season, and the numerous players who filled in when we were short (which was most weeks). Thanks for the great year, let's do one beer next year and hit the finals!

A Reserve: Glencoe 48 defeated Mount Burr 43. What a close tussle. We started shaky, not scoring and losing the ball mulple mes. At one stage in the second quarter we were at around an 11 goal deficit! From half me we really turned it up, defensive pressure increased and everyone put in a huge amount of effort into geng some turnovers. To fight back from so far down takes some serious grit. We need to remember we can do it when needing to going forward. Chloe created heaps of turnovers and was a constant opon down court which earnt her best player

A Grade: Glencoe 46 defeated Mount Burr 39. Wow just like that we have finished the minor season and are heading into finals. We really had to dig deep in our game against Mt Burr to get the win and it was pleasing to see everyone stay composed when the scoreline got close. The sun was out again and made the quarters feel extra long! We had some great moments but need to make sure we are switched on for the full 60 minutes now that we are going into the finals. The win ensured that we finished top of the ladder which is an achievement itself that you should all be proud of. Let's enjoy the me we have together for the rest of the year, put in the effort and see where it takes us.

HATHERLEIGH EAGLES CLUB NOTES

fooTball neTball

A Grade: Round 16 against Tant, we wanted to make sure we had plenty of momentum going into that first week of finals. Condions were average with heavy winds which showed in our first half of the game. We went into the main break with 6 goals 16 points. We knew in the second half we had to hit the scoreboard and put pressure on. Credit to the forward line boys we hit the score board with a lot more accuracy. Our main scorer was Paddy Chay with 11 goals on the day pung him on top for leading goal kicker of the year for the league. Overall was a good effort by everyone. Pleasing to see us play the brand of footy we want to play in finals and having everyone on the day contribute to our 160 point win. Best players on the day were Paddy Chay, Jack Gray, Lewis Walker, Mikey Telford and Tom Hutchesson.

B Grade: Well aer a disappoinng week against Robe, we used this game as a game to get our structures back on track and doing the simple things right that make us a beer football side but also wanng to win well. With plenty out due to injury and unavailability we stepped 4 colts up and the team manager for a game. I'd like to thank all of the colts that have stepped up during the year, you've all done a fantasc job. Well done to Tom Bell who has finished the year on top of the goal kicking ladder, finishing the year strong with 7 big ones. Best players for the day went to Ethan Leopold, Jack Sullivan, Jason Faulkner, Bre Watson and Tom Pegler.

Senior Colts: Last week we had our final game for the 2024 year up against Tant. The day started off prey evenly before our boys took charge and started to blow out the scoreboard. Kicking very accurately early although the wind was quite heavy was a bonus. Finishing off kicking 17.7 for the day with an 84 point win. Best players for the

day - first best the Denton’s Sportspower award went to Riley Haines, 2nd best the Stumpy award went to Coaden Taylor, 3rd best the Gino's Pizza award went to Isaac Chambers, 4th the ladies commiee award went to Huddy Nowak and 5th best the Pete Walter's award went to Aussie Nele. Well done to all on a great finish to a good year. Just quickly like to thank Nigel Brown and Deon Howell for their input this year as I would've been buggered without the pair! Good luck to all teams in finals.

Junior Colts: The final round of the minor season took us to Tantanoola to face the Tigers. We needed to win to really clinch the minor premiership and wanted to have a good hit out before the finals. The blusterly condions made the game a lile scrappy but we stuck at it and connued to draw away for a solid win against a team that will also be playing finals. Tommy Atkinson was solid all day in the pivot. He read the play well and was tough and clean around the contest. Tait Gregec got plenty of the footy on the wing. He hit the scoreboard enough to eventually rack up a major but was also influenal. Paddy McGrath was another consistent contributor up forward and in the ruck. Tommy Lowe had another good game on the half forward flank, presenng as a good target and geng plenty of touches. Leo Sheer showed promise playing in new posions of ruck and centre half back, which was pleasing to see. Condolences go to Patrick Freebairn's family on the loss of his grandfather, we were proud to wear the black armbands for them. Congratulaons to the team and all the helpers through the year. To finish on top of the ladder is a great result. Hopefully we can cap off the season and go all the way in the finals. Good luck to our boys and to all the other teams compeng in the finals.

A Grade: Not how we had hoped to finish off the season, however a credit to everyone who took to the court! With a player down and girls playing out of posion I was proud of everyone's efforts. Unfortunately not the greatest day for our goalies, however they both held their heads up and keep pushing up the shots. Lara and Erin worked solidly in the mid court reoffering where needed and showing great vision into the circle. Demi & Chelsea both ran hard in defence, using their height to our advantage and backing up where needed. Millie and Maddie both sloed in with ease combining well with Demi in the circle to provide plenty of pressure. Thank you to Maddie and Millie for supporng the A Grade and taking the court at short noce and to Deni for sing bench. Thanks to Kelsey for covering Millie's umpiring, racking up 3 matches for the day! Awards: Somerset - Lara MacGregor & Demi Vanderhorst.

A Reserve: A tough game out on the court, in sunny yet windy condions, it was a slow start for the girls. It was a good finish to the end of a tough season for the girls, everyone worked hard to get the win across the line. Both teams going head to head for each loose ball. Millie Smith and Maddie Redman’s defensive pressure was what got us over the line in the end. A calm presence by Lucy Corman was a good work in with Rosie Nele. It was a tough game that we needed before we enter finals. Good job girls. Best players Maddie Redman and Lucy Corman.

B Grade: A high-scoring start as Liv and Ellie showcased great accuracy, converng shots effortlessly and seng the tone for the game. Defensively, Marni and Maddie were instrumental. Their exceponal ability to read the play, combined with Marni’s super long reach, made it exceedingly challenging for Tantanoola to score. In the mid-court, Sarah, Ali, and Kaz were outstanding, working relessly to set up plays, drive the ball forward, and apply constant pressure down the court. Their coordinaon and relentless work rate allowed us plenty of possession of the ball. Georgia come on for Maddie, immediately making an impact and the defensive pressure from Marni and Sarah remained unwavering. The intensity at the defensive end did not wane, despite the warm and sunny condions! At the other end, Eliza made a notable impact in aack, working effecvely alongside Liv before needing to be subbed off. Ellie then rejoined the aacking circle, connuing the strong performance with Liv. Despite the heat, we maintained our focus and intensity throughout the game. Liv’s dominance under the ring was a standout feature, as she secured every rebound and converted accurately. Ali, Kaz and Ellie’s efforts were pivotal in feeding with paence and vision into the goal circle, which was crucial in creang scoring opportunies. Whilst the defensive efforts of Marni, Georgia and Sarah ensured we connued to have more of the ball. Overall, it was a super impressive team effort from all players, demonstrang our ability to sustain high performance and intensity throughout the match. Awards: Liv (Somerset), Marni (Mitre 10), Ali (Hatherleigh Sport and Rec) and Ellie (Fasta Pasta). Huge thanks to Sara for scoring and Nat for PC. B Reserve: It was a tough game for us. We started a tad slow and flat footed in the first few minutes. However, we soon seled with Keely providing an opon at the centre pass and Ella providing immense pressure on Tant’s shooters we managed to put a few on the scoreboard. A few changes going into the second quarter, our defenders Ellen and Ella connued to stand tall and strong, geng their hands to plenty of rebounds and fighng for loose balls. Nic and Fee both provided strong defensive pressure in the mid court and on the circle edge. Demi and Keely fed into our goalies with paence and Grace took some great grabs, stepped up and shot with confidence. At 3/4 me with an 8 goal lead the tempo on the court lied and it changed quite quickly into a physical game. Sadly Grace went down and some quick decisions were made. Nic having to move into GS then unfortunately was forced to come off with blood from head to toe! Leit under immense pressure connued to put the shots up -

forced to shoot long, but doing so with accuracy. Even though we went down by 2 at the final whistle it really was out of our control under unfortunate circumstances. I am super proud of everyone’s efforts, you all should be proud for never dropping your heads and for giving your all on the court. Best players went to Ella and Ellen - you both played the best game in D I’ve seen you play you both impacted the game immensely. We have our fingers crossed for Gracie and wish her a speedy recovery and prey she’s back for finals. Final score 31-33. Thank you once again to Zoe and Kellie. Also a shout out to Sara Gray for her support on the sidelines.

17 & Under: A good solid win to finish the minor round. With girls away, injury and illness it was going to be a slog but our 15’s stepped up and the girls didn’t miss a beat. Niah played a great captain’s game and made sure the younger girls knew exactly what they were doing. Hannah played one of her best games, her clean defensive efforts were fantasc. Chloe although not feeling the best shot well and contested hard for any rebounds, Amber and Deni were seled and reliable in aack. A huge thanks to Luca, Liv, Sylvie and Sienna for helping out you all fied in seamlessly and we didn’t miss a beat. Thanks to Ange for scoring once again. Millicent Chemist award Hannah HSR award Niah.

15 & Under: A rewarding way to finish the season, a strong win against Tantanoola. We stuck to our game plan, to play high percentage netball , score consistently off our centre passes and capitalise on turnovers. Tilly, Livvi and Laura drove to the ring hard all game and fed the goalies with paence and precision. Luca and Sylvie were calm and controlled under pressure, working the ball to the post for the easy shot. Sienna, Olivia and Zoe blocked the run of the Tant aackers, holding up their drive into the circle and forcing them to shoot long. Our confidence and improvement was evident on the court… we chipped away and built on our lead each quarter. Great work girls.

13 & Under: Well done 13s! Finishing top of the ladder for the minor rounds with a whopping 950 goals. Coming in to finals is where we get to see all your hard work come to fruion. We started a lile slow in the first quarter, taking a bit of me to adjust to doing the things we know how but to each and everybody's credit you connued to build up, support and trust each other leading to another convincing win. Liv, Hazel, Mollie, Alirah and Arabella combined extremely well in the aack line. Geng spacing right and giving the right pass at the right me. Leyla, Kaia, Chloe and Paige did their jobs in defence barely leng the ball get past the transverse line. Keep talking, keep smiling and let's finish this season strong. Well done again girls. Thank you to Dani for scoring and Alan for PC. Millicent Chemist - Livvi Faulkner, HLC - Leyla Marshall.

Junior 1: What a great way to finish of the season. We were well matched against Tantanoola, so we had to make sure we used all the things we had learnt throughout the season. It was great to see lots of change of direcon, passing that was in front of where the player was going to and ght defensive pressure. We chased down the loose balls and fought hard for every possession. Well done girls! Awards: Chemist King - Hayley Bowman, Denton's Sports award - Torah Oakley & Amelia Schmidt.

Junior 2: An awesome game played by the girls on Saturday to finish the season on a high! The defensive pressure all over the court was incredible, we got countless touches and backed each other up all over the court. Poppy made strong leads and drove hard in our aack whilst shung her play down defensively. Georgina ran hard all day and was steady to feed the goalie with nice passes. Myla and Kate worked together beaufully in defence contesng everything and making their players work hard for anything . Violet and Lelia connected in goals, moving well and shoong accurately. Maggie chased hard at any loose ball coming her way and was steady transioning the ball down the court. Great work! A big thanks to Hadlie for sing on our bench!

KALANGADOO MAGPIES CLUB NOTES

Hard to believe that just like that the 2024 home & away season is done and dusted with our final round last week at home to the ever-improving Nangwarry sides.

In perfect condions for footy the crowd was at Magpie Park early and remained throughout the day to watch some quality footy across the grades.

Thanks goes to our Junior Game Day Sponsors Autocare Mt Gambier, Rarcoola Structural, The Rocks Shop, MT Wheels & 3MP as game day sponsors and weekly award sponsors in The Roadhouse, Country Atude, Spot On, Bunnings, Aussie Disposals, Sorrentos, OK Pie Shop, KD's Deli, Intersport, Doughnut King, Wendy's, McDonalds, Compton Street Bakers Delight, Boost Juice and Killara Food Court sponsoring our weekly Junior Club Encouragement award.

Under 11: Last game of the year for our youngest footballers and what a year it's been for them. Full credit to Boxy, Groves, Chrissy and all who helped out throughout the season. Thanks to their hard work, the future of footy is bright for the Maggies with the numbers set to come through each year and the quality of players to go with it can only be aributed to Boxy’s hard work & dedicaon. With a few heading up to Junior Colt footy next year along with a few set to make their mark in the U11's, 2025 is going to be a ripper of a year again.

Under 14: What a season for our Junior Colts as they finished the home & away season off with the ghtest of margins win over a very determined young Saints side. Full credit to Macca and those who has helped out throughout the year in Westy, Groves & Jayden. There's an excited bunch of juniors now that are eager to follow in the senior footsteps over recent years and play a major part in the major rounds. 1st up it will be an oung against Tant at Nangwarry in what should be a quality game of junior footy. Best players went to Max Monaghan –Spot On, Will Cary – Bunnings, Frank Mules – OK Pie Shop, Oliver June – Bakers Delight, Alex Lee –Coaches Award and Axel Reeves –Killara Food Court encouragement award.

Senior Colts: Senior Colts got to finish off the season with a few players from South & West to help the lads out and full credit to the boys for cracking in. To get through the year as we did is a real credit to everyone at the club, in parcular Nate, Axe & Jack who

fronted up each week and the Junior Colts for chipping in & helping out. Focus throughout the year was control what you can & work on your game but most importantly just enjoy your footy and I reckon we saw that grow connuously. Now Axe & Nate you boys get to enjoy some finals footy with the senior grades. Best players went to Levi Loring – Road House, Brodie Szopory – Country Atude, Silas Bowden – KD's Deli, Jack Barry – Aussie Disposals, Jack Newton – OK Pie Shop.

Reserves: For the 1st me in weeks Auldy had the envious task of picking from an extended list with players back & available to play. While took a lile while to get going in the 1st half, the 2nd half was an open free flowing game with Auldy’s men piling on plenty to record a convincing 111 point win and take some good form into the 1st semi against Glencoe next up. Best players went to Kye, Alex, Brad, Redders & Reevsey

Seniors: Coming off the bye and on the home deck for the final home & away game for the year we welcomed a few back as the line up is looking more seled each week and some key players running into form. The Saints came with a clear game plan, and it took us a lile while to get going in the 1st half as we tried to get the game back on our terms and get the game opened up. If not for inaccurate kicking in the 1st half would have had a much larger lead than the 36-point half me margin. The game opened up in the second half with the backline holding resolute only allowing the 4 goals through for the game while the forwards and mids got on top around the ground as managed to kick away but with 9.13 in the second half doesn't reflect the dominance of the Maggies around the ground. With a solid week on the track it’s Pt Mac in the 1st final in what should be a cracker game as the points have been evenly shared in season 2024. Best players went to Lachy Jones, Brad Auld, Scoy Agnew, Kriegs, Sammy, & Manes.

All roads this week lead to Nangwarry as we have the 3 sides playing for a shot in the Preliminary Finals. The Junior Colts kick off at 9.30 and let's get behind them and see plenty of black & white through the gate and supporng all the teams playing.

Aer the game we will be heading back to our major sponsor KDoo Pub for teas & presos.

The drive to the front was def on show, and footwork was again very impressive. We moved everyone around a lot to give each girl a good shot at some advanced posions. The shoong from all the goalies was also next level. Everyone has the defensive pressure and intercept game at top-notch now, and combined with the drive to the front, we were certainly dominang. Every single J2 should be very proud, with at least 5 moving into J1 full me next year, you have all improved out of sight and are ready for that next level. Well done! You should be so proud of yourselves. Amazing netball stars for the future 100%. Best players went to everyone! Because it was seriously very hard to choose and they all deserved it! (they all got a treat) and J1 got 4 awards. Seriously very proud of each and everyone of you, thank you to the parents for bringing the girls out to play and training each week. And thank you to the umpires, mums, Shanae and Jayde who helped out and supported each week, it's been a great year of growth and expansion.

Junior 1: Wow what a way to end the season for our mini magpies. The sun was shining and the girls were going hard. It was amazing to see how much the girls have improved through out the season, but also sad that it was the final game. Each and everyone played so well and should be proud of the efforts they have put in. The strong leads and dodging, the perfect shots and the hard working defence was all fantasc. I hope to see all the juniors back next season! Best players went to Olivia (colouring in book), Zali (bubbles), Alyssa (Bakers Delight), Aurora (Bakers Delight).

13 & Under: We have had a great game in very warm condions which we didn’t expect. Having our full side again and trying to gel as one our girls adapted well to different combinaons. Once again both Malda (Mars Bar award) and Zara (Coke and Lollies award) worked hard and combined well in our aacking receiving awards. And Ashy (Mars Bar award) might be small but her quickness and ability to leap high comes in any in any posion and Milla (Baker’s Delight) award for geng her ming right and intercept was clean and well executed. Let’s step it up now and head into the finals with confidence and give it your all. So proud of everyone and the J1 who also bench every game for us.

15 & Under: Well done girls on a great game, you all adapted to the posional changes very well. Strong defence from Zoe & Lexi when she was in GK. Great shoong from Kiersten, Lucy, Molly & Emmity. Ava ran hard & was available through the middle & Ella took numerous intercepons in the last quarter. Kiersten - Coke & chocolate award, Zoe - Baker’s Delight. We will welcome back super coach this week.

17 & Under: Aer a week off I thought we might be rusty but we started strong! We sll have things to iron out but are headed in the right direcon. I can never queson our work rate and the way we back each other. Let’s stay focused and work hard at training so we can perform at our best! All the best to everyone in finals! Best player Lily Brook (DK Coffee), Georgia Genle (Kirsty Egan award).

B Reserve: Bit of a warm one for our final minor round game. We started strong and were able to create a lead right from the start which we connued to build on all game. It was great to see what we’ve been working on at trainings have been implemented in to our game play. We ulised our versality in preparaon for finals and both our 17s stepped up also. Best players were Jodi and Deb. B Grade: Another great win to finish the home and away season. We again had a bit of a different line up, which we adjusted well to. A consistent game with good transions down the court. We were paent in the goal third which gave us good posion in the ring. A big thank you to Lily for playing for us and to Nic for benching and ming. Best players: Lucy WilliamsMangos, Sam Mulraney - Coke and Freddie. Well done on a stellar season girls. You should all be extremely proud of your efforts. Now comes the fun part. Let’s work hard to get us to the final dance.

A Reserve: What perfect weather for netball aer a week off. Another solid team performance from everyone. It was pleasing to see everything we have been working on coming into our game. A great consistent four quarters. Now in to the business end of the season, let’s focus on the next few weeks. Best players: Sophie Wrightson (Intersport), Shayden Russell (Kalangadoo award).

A Grade: A good game aer a week’s break. A solid effort from the defence who created many turnovers and our defensive pressure up the court helped create those opportunies. Eb demonstrated great movement in the circle allowing us some great 1 on 1 feeding. In the aack we moved the ball quickly and worked well on our angles, Janeo stepped up and guided Georgia G in the mid court, both reading off each other and feeding beaufully. A big thanks to Re for stepping up into our defensive unit and working seamlessly with Georgia and Lara. Well done Lara for receiving the Mental Health medal. A good solid win and look forward to keeping up our intensity coming into finals. LaraMental Health Medal, Jane Auld - Lucy Egan award, Georgia GenleIntersport.

KONGORONG HAWKS CLUB NOTES

We faced familiar rivals for our final game of the home & away season, as the Bruce Lightbody Memorial Shield was on the line. This year the Bay proved too good to take the win, along with the shield. As tradion, the shield was presented by Ken & Emily Lightbody to Port Mac’s Tim Sullivan. Thank you to all our players & volunteers, many hands make light work and we could not have done it without you all. A massive thank you to the bay locals, Saltair, for coming down, we had a great night.

Congratulaons to our Under 15’s netball, who have made it to the finals and will play Glencoe at Nangwarry. Be sure to support them.

Under 11: That’s a wrap on 2024! Final game of the season saw us take on Port Mac. Going in with the home ground advantage our boys were pumped to get out and give it their all and we certainly got to see some impressive ball skills and some firm tackling from our lile guys to try slow down some of the bigger Port Mac kids. Coby and Nathaniel worked real hard all game and dominated through the centre with good backing from Ryder, Cooper, Rooster and both Jacks. Izzy was impressive in the forward line boong 2 goals in 30 seconds while Brody had a kick from the sidelines resulng in a goal. Judd once again showed us how quickly he can move the ball down field, his speed and ability to pick the ball up on the run to set up play in the forward line has strengthened week to week. Full credit to all the boys on field. It was a very tough game, you all played so well each and everyone of you should be proud of yourself. Once again we thank Rob, Roscoe and Amy for all your hard work and dedicaon to the boys again this year. We are all super grateful for everything you do. Best players went to Nathaniel (Intersport), Cooper (Presidents Award), Coby (Coaches Award), Brody (Club Voucher), Judd (Brant Family Award), Huey (Donut King Award). Thank you again to all our sponsors for 2024. See you all in 2025, have a safe break.

Junior Colts: The last game of the year was played on another great day at Kongorong. The kids played well against the top side Pt Mac. Even if the scoreboard didn't show it, the Junior Colts tried their best and put a lot of pressure on the other team. The kids have improved so much this year and can only get beer for next year. Thank you, Pete Gordon, for helping me coach this year. Will Von Stanke being the team’s runner and helping on the bench. Damo and Janita Galloway for being team manager and helping out each week with making sure all the behind the scenes stuff is sorted and supplying the coach with lollies on Saturday. Our trainers Mandy Stephens and Julia Paech, who help keep our players on the oval. Parents/ volunteers who goal umpire and me keep every Saturday. I have enjoyed coaching this year and hope the kids have enjoyed playing. Awards went to Lyla Bayley (Lucas Family Award), Lola Geddes (Spot On Fishing), Ivy Trigg (Aussie Disposals), Zayley Vandepeer (Janeway Plumbing), Nathaniel Elletson (Club Voucher) and Jordan Collins (Paradise Pizza).

Senior Colts: Being our last game of the year it was important that our group acquied themselves well and

demonstrated their growth over the season and commitment to connually improving their footy. While we didn’t achieve a win, our group displayed their great character by playing out the season right to the end and turning in a much improved performance on the last me we met. By comparison our work around the contest was much stronger and we were able to avoid centre clearance goals against. Our defenders stood up well and while defensive exits were a challenge at mes we were able to move the footy forward and not play the game in our defensive half. Once again we had opportunies to take marks inside forward 50 and give ourselves chances to hit the scoreboard however poor execuon and decision making at mes saw us give the ball back when we should have scored. While our season has ended with the minor round our group are moving in the right direcon on field and making tremendous contribuons to the club off-field. Provided this group scks together there are limitless possibilies to what they can achieve and it has been an absolute pleasure coaching them this season. Our final value awards for the season went to Ryan Lucas (MT Wheels), Blake Telford (Mahew’s Petroleum), Harrison Elletson (Mick Mullan Plumbing), Jacob Gordon (DA’Leni Meats), Toby McKinnon (Coaches Award) and Sam Ruwoldt (Badenochs Deli).

B Grade: The season wound up with a good contest against the Bay. We were playing really well early and had some great opportunies. Our first quarter into the breeze was a good launching pad as we came into the break even. Unfortunately we couldn’t capitalise with the wind in the second, which meant we needed to dig really deep coming out of the half me break. Unfortunately our lack of fitness and training showed and Port Mac were too polished. We never gave up but it wasn’t to be. Paul Ellis, Andrew Telford, John Simkin, Adam Prosperi-Porta, Shaun Beard were our award winners. Thanks to Collins Court Butchers, BCF, Mitre 10, Pick Ave Deli and the club for their support throughout the season with awards.

A Grade: Absolutely awesome day for footy as the weather gods turned one on. The boys started really well running, creang and aacking aswell as defending but unfortunately their second quarter let them down and allowed the Bay to kick a prey handy score. The boys baled the rest of the game well, and the score certainly didn't reflect the way the game was played. Congratulaons to Zac on playing his 250th A Grade game for the Bay, it’s an awesome achievement. The boys have definitely had their challenges this year, and I’d like to thank Ma Roscow for his support this year, as well as my team manager Kane Brant, Madge our trainer and our president Amanda. Good luck to May and the boys in 2025, hopefully we can gain a few extra wins and keep heading in the right direcon. Awards for our final game went to Joel Maconachie (Commercial Hotel), Bodhi Pannenburg (Collins Court Butchers), Corben O’Dea (BCF), Elliot Modra (Club Tea), Tyrone Rayner (Pick Ave Deli) and Ethan Norman (Club Tea). We look forward to seeing your faces back in 2025!

Junior 2: What a season girls! I can't thank you enough. We've all had so much fun and I have absolutely loved watching all of you blossom. The game was tough but it just goes to show what an extra year of netball under your belt can do. Imagine where will be this me next year. I couldn't pick best players because you're all played so well individually at your posion and I'm so proud of every single one of you. Awards were thanks to Maccas, Kongorong canteen vouchers and cash donated by O'Connor and Graney

Junior 1: A fantasc game girls, we are so incredibly proud of the season and can begin to explain how much all our girls have grown within their posions! An amazing game against Pt Mac, it came with its challenges but we sll fought hard all through the court! We are so extremely proud of all you girls, great game!

13 & Under: Yay girls! I am so happy that aer a long season of hard work we were able to finish off our year with a well deserved win! Everyone came out and played a strong game and focused on what we have been working towards at training. Our passages of play down the court are fantasc, we are clearing and priorising space and aacking the ball which is everything we have been talking about. Best on went to Zoe A (Bunnings) and Ivy (Kaboom Bowling) for running out a fantasc game in defence! I am so proud of everyone for your effort and the work you've all put in across the season! Well done girls!

15 & Under: Hard luck girls. It just wasn't our day. We played well considering girls played in posions they haven't played in all season and missing some of our usual players. Should all be proud and keep your heads up. Just need to rest and focus on finals. Best players went to Abby Brant (Fasta Pasta), Imogen Vandepeer (Club Voucher) and Lily Foster (Janeway Family).

and

B Reserve: What a way to finish the season! I could not be any prouder of the girls. Every single one of them gave it all they got. The wind was a real challenge but we adapted the best we could. Our defence was a standout and put so much pressure on. Best players Renae Stevens – was super consistent and kept her head in the game. Amie, once again pung pressure on and geng mulple turnovers.

B Grade: Well done girls for finishing off the 2024 season with a bit of fun, laughs and teamwork, while sll providing great plays throughout the court. We may not of been successful this season, but I am proud to say that no one gave up every game no maer the score line, and that goes to show the commitment and enjoyment the team gets from playing. Enjoy the off season and hope to see you back out next year.

A Reserve: We had a great start to the game, we played hard and strong knowing it was going to be ght. In the end we lost it by not capitalising on turnovers & scoring our own. Port Mac put up a great fight all game. It was a bit a bugger to end the season on a loss aer the 'under dog' type season we have had. But all in all, it's been a great season with a wonderful bunch of women and we wish the best of luck to all the teams in finals. Best players go to Courtney Sealey & Samantha Ham for their connuous consistency for the enrety of a game, and never dropping their heads.

A Grade: Well done girls! I am so proud of the way everyone came out and put in for four solid quarters so we could walk off the court for the last me and be happy with how we finished. Defensive pressure once again was a highlight of our game with everyone on court pung in such a solid effort for the team. Best on went to Rach (The Park Hotel) for running out another solid game in defence and Zara (Mika Hair and Beauty) who took control in the aack line and played such a strong, dominant game. I am so proud of you all for showing up every week and giving your all and hope you all have finished this season with your heads held high! Well done girls!

football netball MOUNT BURR MOZZIES CLUB NOTES

Junior Colts: The boys went out with a great effort this season. They le it all on the field in the last game and took it to a team that had them in size and strength. Reed, Moystn and Jensen gave it everything in their last game in junior colts coming off exhausted and bruised up. Jackson connued his impressive form and looked great out there. Very posive end to a tough year for the boys and I couldn't be more proud of them. Thank you very much to the parents and volunteers this year. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again next year to build on what the Mount Burr juniors are building.

Senior Colts: Final minor round game for the senior colts saw the top 2 teams face each other heading into finals. Glencoe got off to the beer start and had our boys on the back foot at the end of the first quarter. Second quarter saw a much beer team performance which ulmately decided the game. Well done on finishing minor premiers. Now the hard work connues as we face up to Glencoe in a couple of weeks me in the second semi.

B Grade: And that is the end of another season for our B Grade, finishing the year with 4 wins, 1 e and too many losses. On Saturday we competed well against the third place Glencoe side, unl the last quarter when they put some damage on the scoreboard. Best player for us was Kody Bowering who played a great game in defence, Ben Ballantyne, Rhys Gamble, Myles

Widdison & Ed Ballantyne also had strong matches. Thanks to everyone at the club that supported the B Grade this year, especially the Senior Colt players who filled in while we were struggling for numbers in the middle and laer parts of the year. We are sure the Senior Colt boys will represent the club well and hopefully can make it to and win the Grand Final. I hope to see everyone back fier and stronger next season.

A Grade: What a perfect day to finish the season weatherwise. We’ve been super lucky this year with the weather and Saturday was no excepon. We started fairly slow allowing them to kick the first three goals but pleasing to see us fight our way back. Was an arm wrestle for much of the first half, both sides playing aacking footy. The second half we played some consistent possession football which allowed us to get forward and score. We were able to make the ground really big and made them defend 1v1. Pleasing way to finish our season on a high. Thank you to all the people involved in the club - volunteers, trainers, runners, water boys, me keepers etc. We are all looking forward to having a break and cracking in again next year

Major sponsors for 2024 season - Gold: MAC Suzuki, ACM Plumbing. Silver: Klas Bilt, Lowndes Abrasive Blasng, Enchanted Beauty, Sonya Francis Photography, Jens Hotel. You are a lovely bunch that are enthusiasc, encouraging and supporve of each other You used everything that you had learnt during the season and played a very strong game. Well done girls, thank you for a great season!

Junior 1: What a great game to end the season girls! It all just came together and we played a great team game. Our shoong was amazing as we were rewarded for all our hard work. Our defence all over the court was outstanding, allowing us to have lots of the play. Thank you all for a great season! Awards went to Zariah (Acky's), Bella and Eva (Fasta Pasta) and Indi (Zambreros). Thank you to Sarah for umpiring and Cathie-Anne for again providing us with the oranges.

13 & Under: Well done girls, a great game to finish the season off. I’m very proud of all of the girls and the improvement of them as individuals and as especially as a team. We are lucky to play finals which is a reward for all our hard work on and off the court. Let’s come out firing against Glencoe and play our game. Thanks to Shannon for scoring and Stacey for umpiring.

15 & Under: Congratulaons girls on a fantasc season, unfortunately we didn't finish on a win but it was an amazing game. The connecon in the shoong end was incredible. The defence working relessly each week and great flexibility through the mid court. Best players went to Callie Brant (Subway) and Isabel Obrien (McDonald’s).

17 & Under: Was great to see you start each quarter with increased intensity and paence. This year you have all worked hard to improve as individuals and as a team. Ashlee showed strength under the post, shoong with accuracy. Sarah drove well to be an opon close to the post. Abbey used space on court to move the ball to circle edge as well as being an accurate shooter. Lola fed goalies well, being an opon on the circle edge. Olivia worked hard to move the ball through centre court as well as applying defensive pressure. Jaimie moved well to create

posive opons in aack. Kaylah forced WA wide and applied pressure to limit her opponent the ball. Macy used great body posion and ancipated passes to take numerous intercepons. Tilly played well to turn the ball in D and combine well in goals to score. Sara put pressure on defensively as well as drove the ball out of defence with strength. We are grateful to have the support of Sportspower, Cafe Melzar, Zambreros, Acky's Deli, Fasta Pasta, Gino’s, Millicent Chemist, Subway, as our team awards. Looking forward to an excing finals campaign. Thanks Kelly for scoring and Lilly for umpiring.

B Reserve: Mount Burr 34 Glencoe 42. We were disappointed to not finish on a win. We gave ourselves plenty of opportunity and did plenty of good things throughout the game. Thank you to our team for their dedicaon & commitment through the season. Thank you to our sponsors who gave us awards each week. Thank you to the umpires, scorers, mers and volunteers who keep country netball alive. We are lucky to play in such a compeve league.

B Grade: Last Saturday saw us playing a compeve game in the heat. We started strong in the first quarter working effecvely in defence creang intercepons and capitalising on rebounds where we could. Our shoong was accurate having us 2 up going into the second quarter. The game connued very much goal for goal with sll having the lead by 1 going in to the third quarter Glencoe kept up the pressure and converted their turnovers to be up by 2 going into the final break. Last quarter saw us did deep and fight for the ball with some calls not going our way we connued to did deep with the lead changing between us and Glencoe. With Glencoe taking the win by 1 point. It was such a great team game and what a game to finish the season on. Thanks to Kelly for scoring, and Heidi for umpiring. Awards went to Sienna, Lilly and Maddi.

A Reserve: What a last game to finish on for us. The condions were perfect for playing netball. Our game started off strong, creang mulple turnovers and scoring at all opportunies. We finished the first quarter up by 3 goals. Heading into the second quarter we made a few changes and connued our strong work rate, a few minor errors helped Glencoe peg back the lead for the scores to be level at half me. We knew we had to keep pushing hard to gain a greater lead and stay in control of the game. Great defensive pressure and incredible accuracy from Ava and Jaz saw us have the lead by 1 goal heading into the last quarter. We connued to work hard in the last quarter but a few interesng calls and changes let Glencoe run away with the game, finishing with them winning by 5 goals. Although we didn't walk away with the win, we all played such a strong team game which was great to finish the season on. Game days wouldn't run without you all. We appreciate all your efforts. Well done on a great season girls! Go Mozzies!

A Grade: We faced Glencoe who are sing at the top of the ladder. Despite being up at half me, showing strong teamwork and resilience, Glencoe proved too strong in the laer stages of the game. While we couldn't secure the win, our performance was commendable and highlighted our potenal. We've had a tough season but with the young ones coming through, our future is looking bright. Thank you Lisa for umpiring & Alan for scoring.

NANGWARRY SAINTS CLUB NOTES

What a beauful day down at Kalangadoo to finish off the minor round.

This year was the second year of this important iniave which rotates hosng between both of our clubs. We are proud together with Kalangadoo FNC to connue this annual iniave, dedicated to keeping these very important conversaons going, recognising that good mental health & community connecon, as well as knowing it is ok to speak up if we are not feeling ok, underpins the overall healthy wellbeing of people and communies. Congratulaons to the 2024 Mental Health Awareness Match award winners voted best senior footballer and netballer on the day - Logan Gibbs (Nangwarry) & Lara Munro (Kalangadoo).

Nangwarry would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers who help out each week. There are just too many to name without missing someone so please accept this as our thank you and know how much the commiee appreciate you all.

As many are aware we have struggled with Senior Colt numbers for a number of years, and due to the commiee’s hard efforts and huge success in securing Craig Hicks and Shane Grigg as co-coaches at the end of 2023 and then their reless work in the off season of gathering a great cohort of young fellas to join our already talented boys they have managed to create a very successful team. The commiee would like to congratulate Shane and Craig on their success in the minor rounds and wish them all the best as they prepare for the finals, the whole of Nangwarry Football Club could not be prouder

Under 11: With low numbers we have relied heavily on the other teams to allow our kids to join in and have a go. All of these kids have shown great development over the season. Hopefully next year we can connue to build on these numbers and connue to improve.

Junior Colts: A mixed feelings day for us to finish the year against Kdoo, definitely a game we could've won and we certainly had our chances to snatch a win and I couldn't be prouder of our group for the not only the game they've finished with but the season we've had. It was really good to see a few of our younger kids really step up and leave nothing out there. Our backs were fantasc all game playing high and trying to score, our mids worked relessly all game helping defence and pushing forward and our forwards tried their guts out all game.

Senior Colts: A good way to finish off the regular season with a strong performance at Kalangadoo. A big thank you to all the players that volunteered to play a quarter or two for Kdoo. While we sll have some obvious things to work on going in to this week, we were certainly happy with the way we played and it was good to throw a few around in different posions. We are all looking forward to a big week on the track leading into this week's home final at Nangwarry

B Grade: Finished the year off not too bad. We went into the game undermanned again but the lads had a crack and that is all that maers. We had some good moments throughout the day but Kalangadoo were just too strong. Thank you to everyone who helped out throughout the year, really means a lot. Let's all get out to Nangas this weekend and support the under 17s who are a good chance to go a long way in the finals.

A Grade: So nice to turn up to play at Kalangadoo in beauful spring weather in winter. Although it was our last game, we were commied to not put the cue in the rack. We as a team sll had unfinished business. Kalangadoo had everything to

play for to ensure their entry into another final series was secured at the end of play Our team line up changed significantly from the week before with injuries and not playing some u17s as they prepare for finals. Our ball transion was good allowing numerous scoring opportunies early but we did not capitalise on our good work. Kalangadoo's quick and short ball movement was slick and an area we had to ghten up on for the remainder of the game. At the first break it was only 1 goal the difference and we made some changes to our defensive structure. With limited numbers to rotate through the midfield and with less senior game me experience than our opposion our boys dug in to make it a contested bale to the very end. Our defence held and funconed together well despite the pressure and we were prepared to take on the game and take risks once we gained possession of the ball. Some lile fundamental errors prevented us from more scoring opportunies, an area that will improve under another preseason together. To come off the ground exhausted like our boys did, I was extremely proud of each of them and a good indicaon on how far we have come as team when it comes to embracing a contest. Kalangadoo are a very good team, play a good brand of football. The game was played in very good spirits and we wish Al and his boys all the very best with their finals campaign. We would like to also congratulate Boxy and K'doo FNC on hosng the Match for Mental Health. An iniave between Nangwarry and Kalangadoo Clubs. Not a fundraiser but an awareness reminder of the importance to check in with one another. We look forward to hosng it again next year We congratulate Logan Gibbs for receiving the Match for Mental Health Medal. Awarded to the player who played in the spirit and values of what the day represents. Our goal kickers for the day or we should say goal kicker was Jack Pudney with 4 goals who had a stellar last half of the season. Best players were awarded to 1. Aaron Hill who worked relessly in the ruck and won numerous possessions around the ground in what is not a regular posion for him. 2. Logan Gibbs embraced the contest all day and won plenty of the ball. His quick hands out in ght allowed for us to get clean movement away from the stoppage. 3. Archer Virtanen who is just an excitement machine whenever he has the ball in his hand and has pace to burn and a long penetrang le boot. Ran well both ways. 4. Isaac Raymond applied pressure on the opposion all day and rewarded himself with numerous marks and possessions all over the ground 5. Joel Virtanen has taken his captaincy to another level. Another high possession game with plenty of run and accurate kicking seng up numerous aacks out of defence. 6. Andy Hyland in what was a different role for him winning numerous possessions across the ground and centre bounce contests. Found plenty of space and was good ght in the contest. A big congratulaons to Jake Coleman for playing his first senior game for Nangwarry The goal post denying him a goal which would have capped of his good performance in his first game. This week our aenon turns firmly to our u17s playing in finals in what is very excing for our football club. I'm sure we will have large numbers in support on the day. Have a good week on the track and go get em' boys. To finish, a massive shout out to my game day support. Gadget, Butch, Vesa, Plugger, KD, Donny, Hicksy, Griggy, Ben Geary our trainers Gobba and Hannah and our volunteers either running the boundaries or waving the flags in goals each Saturday. I just simply cannot funcon without you and I am forever grateful for your support. Go Sainters!

As the 2024 season draws to a close, it's a natural me to reflect on the journey we've undertaken together Congratulaons to our 13/u team, who finished 5th on the ladder and narrowly missed out on finals - an impressive effort. It was a challenging season for our other grades, but through adversity, you all persevered and finished with heads held high. As president, I couldn't be prouder of the community we've built this year As we look ahead, as you know, we are acvely seeking a coach for our A Grade team for next season. If you know someone who might be a good fit and is interested in the role, please feel free to reach out to me. I also want to extend my deepest gratude to our sponsors. Your support has made a tangible difference this year, allowing us to implement some excing new improvements around the club. With that, I sign off for the final me this season. Thank you all for your dedicaon and commitment. I look forward to seeing you next year

Junior 2: What a bier sweet end to the season. It has been a terrific year, and it was a pleasure to co-coach such a great bunch of young ladies. They have all shown great promise and have dug deep to find their love to fight for the ball. I'm very excited to see their love of netball grow with them. Sadly, we had to say goodbye to co-coach Amy. She is moving to the warmer weather for a couple of years, but she will be back! It has been a pleasure to take this coaching journey with Amy

Junior 1: What an amazing season we have had girls, you have improved so much, and are going to be amazing talented players in the future! You are the future to the Nangwarry Netball Club. We had a great last game to finish of the season, our defence had amazing performances, making it hard for Kalangadoo to score some goals, we played our pace and were encouraging each other We all played posions we don't normally play and the girls had lots of fun. Our aack had some great leads into the circle and using our circle to create space in the goals. Our mid court has improved and we're giving and going throughout the whole game. I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to coach you girls! You girls just aren't coming to netball every week to play you girls have made friendships and bonds with each other. What a wonderful 2024 season we had.

13 & Under: Not the sort of game we wanted to finish on but we gave our all and enjoyed it with some swapping around to have some fun. So proud of every one of you and how much you have improved as the season went on. With some more work and consistency we will get there and make it into the finals one day soon. Thanks to everyone that helped out myself and Chloe this season. Thank you to the umpires and parents for volunteering their

me. Thanks lastly to our players and their dedicaon to playing and training we are super proud of you all. Hope to see you all return next season to keep on building on the work we have done this year. Awards went to James, Asha and Keeley last week.

15 & Under: Another beauful day at the home of the Pies. both teams starng strong from the first whistle. Some great contests all over the court. Well done Kalangadoo on a great win.

B Reserve: The score does not reflect the game that was played, with both teams working hard on the court. It's great to see the Nangwarry girls never drop their heads. Well done to Kalangadoo on a great win and good luck in finals.

B Grade: Another great game by all eight players to finish the season on a high. Zoe had another fantasc game at GS holding and rebounding well and shoong nearly all of our goals. Cassie, Ellie and Skye fed Zoe with ease, creang space and all three played ght defence down court also. Defenders Chloe, Amy and Stevie gave their all like always and the pressure applied created plenty of turnovers. Thank you, Amy, for your contribuon to the club and we wish you all the best for your next ventures. Thank you to Tanisha for sing bench and to Cassie and Skye for filling in.

A Reserve: Our last game and we came up against Kalangadoo, it is always a tough game and I am proud of the way we played. Starng the game with 5 seniors and 2 juniors we managed to apply pressure and get a number of turnovers allowing ourselves to be compeve. The score did not reflect how well all 7 girls played when on the court, we had a number of great passages of play but were unable to use the chances at our end. We just needed to be a lile slower, and paent to give our aack line to open up play Both Emily and Maddison played sensaonal games and I am proud how each of you have grown over the season. Thank you to all the juniors who stepped up and gave A Res a shot this year, Keira, Kaylee, Skye, Sienna and Holly whether you took the court or just sat on the bench your support was phenomenal. To my 9 girls I hope you enjoyed the season, and I have enjoyed coaching you and hope to see you all back in 2025.

A Grade: Well done ladies. You should all be so proud of yourselves. Not everyone could rock up week aer week and give their all when the odds aren't in their favour. It has been an absolute pleasure to be your coach this season. Thank you so much for scking by me when you found out I would be taking on the role. I hope you all sck around for season 2025, I just know you all have so much to give. But for now. Enjoy the break and see you at presentaons!

NETball club notes port macdonnell

Junior 2: What an incredible way to end the season! Our junior netballers played their best game yet, showcasing the talent and potenal that make them a wonderful team of future athletes. It was an absolute honour to coach these amazing girls, watching them grow, learn, and come together as a team. Every player brought their all to the court, displaying skill, determinaon, and a love for the game that was truly inspiring. The way they supported each other, communicated, and executed their plays was a joy to watch. Their hard work throughout the season culminated in this fantasc performance, proving just how far they've come. To see their growth and success has been one of the most rewarding experiences, and I couldn't be prouder of each and every one of them. This team has a bright future ahead, and I can't wait to see what they achieve next. Well done, girls - you've made this season unforgeable! Our encouragement awards were awarded to Sophie Stratman, Pippa Lewis and Ellie Day. Thank you to Fasta Pasta Mt Gambier and Bakers Delight Mt Gambier for donang these awards. We hope to see all the girls out again next season!

Junior 1: The last game for the season was a windy one. The team would be moving the ball nicely down court and the wind would catch it. We also mixed it up this week with every player playing at least three different posions. It was a hard game against tall opposion but you all played our game unl the last whistle. The Fasta Pasta encouragement awards went to Skyla and Ava. Skyla took mulple intercepts down the court and Ava defended well and never stopped trying.

13 & Under: Kongorong 29 defeated Port MacDonnell 14. And just like that it's the end of the season, it was long and exhausng but we got through the ups and downs. The girls played a great last game for their season, our defenders worked hard trying to stop the Kongorong goalies. Lucy, Peyton and Madison made some great passages of play to our goalies but we found it difficult to keep possession of the ball through the centre third. The goalies tried their absolute best with the strong wind and didn't drop their heads, as usual their goalie passes to each other are amazing! Well done girls. Enjoy your break! Awards: Evie Jones - Kaboom, Madison Carlin - Wendy's.

15 & Under: Kongorong 11 defeated by Port MacDonnell 47. We had a great win for our last game before finals. It was very windy with lots of loose balls but we manage to come home with a big win, so well done girls. We had lots of good passages of play and lots we sll need to work on at trainings. You should be all very proud to have come this far. Let's go girls. Red and blue all the way! Best players: Kacey McLean - Kaboom, Bailee Lewis – McDonald's.

17 & Under: Kongorong 4 defeated by Port MacDonnell 87. In windy condions our girls faced Kongorong in our last minor round for the season, eager to play some quality netball prior to our finals campaign. Sickness taking a hold of our team, we were without goalie Lilly Day and defender Ruby Moody but the girls rose to the challenge. Goals were well earned in the blowing condions and defenders worked hard to provide second chance opportunies. Bree Ridding ran through the centre well, her defensive pressure unparalleled. Chloe Day also had a fantasc day in goals, presenng front and strong all day. Both girls earned themselves best player for their efforts. At the end of the game, the bay girls finished ahead, cemenng their place in the top four and excited to match up against a

very well drilled and experienced Hatherleigh side this week. We'd love to see everyone's support out cheering on all of the netball sides at Nangwarry this week, go Bay!

B Reserve: Kongorong 22 defeated by Port MacDonnell 35. As the season drew to a close, our girls finished in a fashion that was nothing short of spectacular. A whirlwind season capped off by a wild, windy day on the courts in Kongorong. The gusts didn't just challenge our players physically; it pushed them to dig deep and showcase the resilience that has defined our undefeated journey. Despite the challenging weather, our girls held their composure and played with the same determinaon and skill that has seen them conquer every opponent this season. The final whistle marked not just the end of the game, but the end of a spectacular season. As we head into the finals, our record stands as a testament to the hard work, teamwork, and passion each and every player has poured into every match. Our best players were awarded to Bridie, Jenni & Deanne for their amazing efforts in that ghastly wind. Thank you to Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro, Chemist King Mt Gambier and Lima and Co for donang these awards. See you all at Hatherleigh!

B Grade: Kongorong 9 defeated by Port MacDonnell 33. Well done girls! The condions weren't ideal however we came away with a strong finish. Kelly and Liv shot well with the wind. Jess and Ash brought the ball down from defence with some good feeds from Chloe. We have secured our top 4 finish, let's give it all we have this week and come away with the win! Best players: Ashlee Schwereger (Lima and Co), Kelly Millard (Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro).

A Reserve: Kongorong 26 defeated by Port MacDonnell 35. Our netball team's defensive pressure was outstanding once again. Bree put in a tremendous effort at WD, and our aacking play resulted in some excellent passages of play. Everyone is finding their rhythm, and if we maintain this momentum, we can make a big impact in finals. Let's keep pushing and stay focused - we can achieve great things together! Best players: Bailee Lewis (Chemist King), Bree Ridding (Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro).

A Grade: Kongorong 32 defeated by Port MacDonnell 52. Very slow start in very windy condions, but both teams played in the same condions we just took me to sele into the game. Our starng line up was a bit different with 1 girl away and 3 girls sll unwell, but aer a few posional changes and a very rocky first half we started to sele and play our own game, which enabled us to grow the gap between ourselves and Kongorong. Our goal was to finish the season with a win and we sure did that, coming away with a 20 goal win. We've had a great season on and off the court and our posion on the ladder doesn't jusfy how hard we've worked and improved this season as individuals and as a team, majority of our losses throughout the season were only by a few goals, giving our opponents a run for their money. I am very proud of every one of you and the team morale we have built on and off the court. I hope everyone comes out firing again next season and ready to work hard and keep building on how much we have improved this year as I truly believe we will be a team to watch. Best: Sophie Lewis, sponsored by Sharyn Taylor (Voucher - Intersport), Cody Manning, sponsored by Frozen Foods (Voucher - Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro).

NETball club notes robe

A Grade: Hath 48 def by Robe 56. The girls began the game slower than usual, struggling to find their rhythm and team dynamic. Aer the first quarter, Demi Carter (Calcua – Robe Beauty/Naracoorte Sportspower) stepped up with controlled play, keeping the score compeve. Working well with Sarah Laurie (Coaches award – Holiday Trading Co), both near missing all game. Kim Ausn had impressive rebounds and strong holds in the circle, but Hatherleigh was exceponally accurate. Despite this, Robe demonstrated their determinaon to take through to finals finishing third place on the ladder

A Reserve: Hath 39 def Robe 36. We approached the game with intensity and determinaon to win, unfortunately Hatherleigh got in front by 3 points in the last minutes of the game. Being neck for neck for the enre match, our shooters played well under pressure. Really proud of the defensive work put in by all team members. Calcua going to Jess (Loaves & Fishes) and Incenve to Hannah (Holiday trading Co), such a dynamic defensive duo in the ring! Sll unsure of our chances leading into finals, hopefully we get a shot! Go A Res!

B Grade: Hath 80 def Robe 29. A fun game to finish off the season. We mixed a few things up but ulmately we did beer than last me we played Hatherleigh even though we didn't have our full team. Olivia (Calcua – Loaves & Fishes) had a great game in defence geng her hands to many. Kate (incenve – Holiday Trading Co) was consistent through the wing & had great intercepts in C. We had a fun game to finish off the year and came off the court with a laugh. Bring on the wind up!

B Reserve: Hath 60 def Robe 23. When it's your best friends final game what do you do? You chuck her in C and watch her run LOL! Hatherleigh you are always a hard game but also so lovely to play. First quarter the Roosters came out firing! Down by only 3 points at quarter me the coach was having a heart aack on the side lines. Second quarter got a lile frazzled and a lile sloppy but we sll held ourselves well. Special menon to Cass who aer not being in there all season jumped in goals. She took a couple of minutes to sele the nerves and then she played a cracker game, I think Jess was quietly proud on the side lines. Leni and Lindsey both under 15s stepped up to help us out as we were short, they both made an incredible impact on the game. 4th quarter was bibs in and everyone pick a spot without looking. Livvy might actually find herself in defence posion next year aer the way she played in there. Special menon to Mahalia and Annabelle who played their last games for the Roosters. The ressie girls will be hard pressed to be able to replace either of you. Also a big thank you to Mardi. Our team manager for the year, my ear and my support. Calcua went to Lindsey (Loaves & Fishes). Those long arms in GD resulted in numerous turnovers which the girls scored on. Coaches went to Robbie (Holiday Trading Co). Rob you are the calm and controlled this team needs and you always put in your all. Unl next year ressies!

17 & Under: Hath 58 def Robe 25. A tough game to round out the season for the girls! It was going to be tough with a few girls out but we were lucky to have three 15s players step up. I was proud of the girls for playing strong and consistently for the game, giving their all in the heat! Lots of good passages of play which make me excited for next season and to see the girls develop more! Best

player went to Olivia (Steve's Place) who didn't stop all day with the turnovers and second best went to Madi (Naracoorte Sportspower) who ran a full game out in WA and was just relentless all game. Well done on the season to the Robe U17s!

15 & Under: Hath 49 def by Robe 53. What a game to finish off the season! For the enre first quarter it was goal for goal, so we knew it was going to be a fight unl the final whistle. Milla and Mille fought hard against some great long reached defenders, proving our passes needed to be strong and direct. Mid courters Tess and Kaitley were great feeders for our shooters connually working the ring to get a shooters in prime posion. Our defenders Leni, Lindsey, Makenzie and Holly all put the pressure on geng many turnovers and hands to rebounds. The defensive pressure down the enre court, with a great team game was what got us the win, each girl fighng hard unl the end. Such a posive way to finish off the season. So very proud of all their efforts. Best player went to Kaitley (Steve's Place) for another ripper game in C and coaches was award to Lindsey (Naracoorte Sportspower) for a strong game in GK geng some incredible turnovers.

13 & Under: Hath 67 def Robe 18. This was the last game of the season for the girls and it was always going to be a tough one, with Hatherleigh being in the top spot. The girls started the game off in their usual posions, then at quarter me a few changes were made, with the most notable being Zoe Vearing moving into GS posion. The girls all put in a huge effort and even knowing they wouldn't win they never gave up. Best player went to Lacey Brooks (Union Café) in centre and coaches award went to Zoe Vearing (Naracoorte Sportspower. Well done everyone. Thanks to the umpires and scorers and thanks to Joe Murray for helping us out and lending us her netball knowledge.

Junior 1: Another great game by the girls. We all played with strong hands and great leads. We have learnt so many skills and put them all into pracce and was so good to see even right up to the final whistle. Even though we might be smaller and younger your fight and determinaon all game is second to none. Coaches went to Scarle (Robe Netball Club) for her consistency wherever she played and listening to advice and pung it into pracce.

Junior 2: The girls were all very excited for their last game of the season! Charloe, Tilda and Halle made a huge amount of intercepts in defence throughout the game. Jess worked hard all game through the centre and gave it her all, earning her the incenve (Robe Netball Club). Evie had a great last quarter in WA. Once again, however, our poor passing really let us down against a faster, taller Hatherleigh side and we struggled to get the ball down to our goalies. As the season ends it's important to reflect on the significant progress the girls have made as netballers this year, it's been wonderful to see their skills develop over the year and their teamwork develop on court. Next year the girls will be more experienced and hopefully a bit taller, helping to make them more compeve. It's a credit to the whole team on the way they have conducted themselves and connually given it their all, despite oen coming up against much older and experienced sides. Hopefully next season they can experience the joy and sasfacon when all that hard work pays off and they can finally win a couple of games!

Junior Colts: Last week we played the Eagles at home,

going into the game we knew they were a quality side but we were sll very confident and showed it with our pressure around the ball, we fought hard all day but in the end we went down by 49 points. Pung that game behind us and moving forward to winning the first final down at Nangas.

Senior Colts: On a warm and breezy day we hosted the Eagles in our last game of the season. As has been the case for the majority of the year we were off to a slow start and were not prepared to work hard or chase our opposion. We baled through to the end but were outclassed by a beer team on the day Thanks to all the boys for the season and hope to see you all back next year. Best players were Jake who has had a great year, Braydn Hateley who worked hard all day, Boat consistent as always and Longy and Sam who have also had good years.

Junior 2: Phenomenal effort for the final game for the gorgeous J2s! The enre game, you all demonstrated excellent drives, aggression towards the ball, finding space, and used your voices on the court, even some of you even directed play! I'd asked for you all to go out and show the skills you've learned this year, and you did just that! We sadly didn't have a full team, and the girls were definitely missed. I'm humbled to have watched you all develop the fundamentals to help you start your netball careers, the tears at the end of the game were genuine, you have all been amazing to coach and a lot of fun!

Congratulaons to our top age J2s who will move onto J1s next year, you are more than ready to slot into the higher grade! J2s, you will be great assets to help the incoming players, and I have no doubt you'll help them to master the basics!

Thanks to my sidekick, Charli, for all of your help this season. You've been amazing! Everyone who has stood on the sidelines brought the girls to training and games, med, umpired, the games would not run without you! So thank you!

Junior 1: Fantasc final game by our J1s. We started off very rough mixing the posions around but recovered well & got our flow back on track for the last 3 quarters. Our last quarter we finished off with our core 7 x top age J1s who have all developed amazingly this year & I could not be prouder. You are all such commied, hard working, gutsy lile kids who give it your best & that's all I can ask for. Thank you to the 4 x U13 girls who have played with us this season & also to the boom age J1 girls who have rotated through playing with us each week. Another fantasc year coaching you all. Go Tigers.

13 & Under: Last game and we decided if we played hard for the first half, we could mix things up & have some fun in the second half. I was prey impressed at half me to only be down by 13 goals when we lost by 40 in round 1. Just shows how far we have come. Goalies went to mid/defence, defence went to mid/goals & mid court went to goals/defence. It didn't flow but it was great to see the excitement especially on Emie's face when she shot a goal and on Pippa's just being a shooter. Unfortunately with many aempts none were successful yet it didn't maer. Well done on a great, fun, growing season. Thanks to all the parents who helped during the year making my job so much easier.

17 & Under: An awesome way to end the season, so good to see the girls give their all in their last game together. Bethan adjusted well to

her posional change, working hard to get turnovers all game (Chelsea Feast Makeup award), supported well by Isla in the defensive circle. Kailah played well on the wing, being a consistent opon all season. Poppy ran well in the centre, pung pressure on her opponent and combining well with Demi to feed with accuracy. Kaitlyn (Foodland award) got numerous turnovers and read the play beaufully again. Molly used her athlecism and ability and smartness to create scoring opons and convert any turnovers. Hailey had another great game in goals, staying calm in the goal circle and shot with accuracy (KFC award). Such a pleasure to coach this season, so many things to look forward to. Good luck to the girls moving into seniors and can't wait to see you all back out next year!

B Grade: What a tough game we played on the weekend. Hatherleigh are a well refined team and they came out strong right from the start. It took us a while to get our groove and the hot weather was a struggle for us. Although we didn't get the win we didn't have the best day, it doesn't maer as this week is the finals and anything can happen. I'm proud of my girls connuing to keep fighng and I know we'll go out this week and smash it.

A Reserve: The Tigers hosted the Eagles in the last match of the round. The game was high intensity from the start with the Tigers having to contend with the second top side. We proved we could match it with them the whole game. Defensive pressure once again of Dakota, Lucy and Eva creang numerous turnovers for Tigers. It was a close game the whole way through the 4 quarters. Hard speedy running from Kristy in the centre transioned the ball down with ease. Although we went down by 7 it was definitely a great game to finish off our 2024 season. It has been a pleasure coaching this team and I look forward to season 2025 Best: Kristy Varcoe - Dentons Sports, Lucy Barber - McCourts Café and Dakota Hately - Lima and Co.

A Grade: Pleasing to see us finish off the last round with some solid quarters of netball. Shelby (Somerset Award) connues to provide a steady opon through the mid court. Great to have Emma (Kelsey Wight Award), Jami, Kate and Casey working paently in aack and using some nice opons. Our defensive work of Kate & Bella connues to make the opposion work. Thanks to Molly and Keryl for stepping up when required. If we can perform consistently, I look forward to seeing what we can achieve in the weeks ahead.
