second SEMI-FINAL match PREVIEWS

13 & UNDER

Hatherleigh v Kalangadoo

The Eagles and the Pies go head to head this weekend at Hatherleigh in the 13 & Under Second Semi. Kalangadoo's Zara Cole and Hatherleigh's Alirah Bowman will have a good tussle through the midcourt with both players fighng to gain possession for their team. Magpie goalies Ebony Reeves and Malda Peacock are able to move well in the circle shoong with accuracy, however they will be pressured by Eagles Chloe David and Paige Walters. Down the other end of the court Kalangadoo's Tekani Clark and Milla Lennon will apply pressure to Hatherleigh's Livvi Faulkner and Mollie O'Connor, forcing turnovers and gaining intercepts whenever possible. Both teams have come away with a win through the minor rounds, however the Eagles will combine well on the day and come away with the win.

15 & UNDER

Port MacDonnell v Kalangadoo

Port MacDonnell will take on Kalangadoo at Hatherleigh this weekend in the 15 & Under Second Semi Final. Port MacDonnell's goalies Ivy Wilson and Bailee Lewis have proven to be strong and accurate within the circle, however they will be under intense pressure from Molly Peacock and Zoe Wurst. Ava ProsperiPorta will work the ball back down to her goalies Lucy Egan and Kiersten Cole with ease, but Port MacDonnell's Isla Fulham will provide hands over pressure down the court. Demons’ defenders Layla McPherson and Chelsea Fulham will use their netball smarts to pick off intercepts in the Pies aack line, creang confusion and working the ball back down the court with the support of Addison Smith. Port MacDonnell have come away with the win both mes these teams have faced off throughout the season and will secure their spot in the Grand Final this weekend, however the Magpies won't go down without a fight, keeping the margin small.

17 & UNDER

Kalangadoo v Mount Burr

The 17 & Under compeon has been a ght one this season with Mount Burr gaining second spot on percentage and the 3 top sides all scoring over 1000 goals. Mount Burr are looking for a 3-peat in this grade and will be looking for a win to advance straight to the Big Dance. Both of these sides have exceponal talent with many playing regularly in the A or A Reserve. Shayden Russell has stepped up to the plate this season with her height and accuracy causing headaches for any defender she comes up against, she combines well with Georgia Genle who has moved into a shoong role this season. Tilly Gamble, Sara Smith and Macy Burns will need to work hard to stop the

ball before it gets into the circle as missed shots will be rare. Maya Anderson uses her height to her advantage at the defensive end for the Pies and is supported well by Ellie Xanthapoulos, they will need to be at their best to curb Ashlee Dean and Sarah Sigston in goals for the Mozzies. Abbey Falng and Lily Brook are both fast athlec players and the dynamic they bring to each of their sides will be influenal on the outcome. The Pies have had gained the points on both occasions this season by 12 and 8, but Lisa Sco will have her young side at their best and will push them unl the final whistle.

B RESERVE

Port MacDonnell v Hatherleigh

Port Mac are undefeated in the B Reserve and would go into the 2nd semi full of confidence. While Hatherleigh have had to rethink their lineup due to a season ending knee injury to GS Grace Chay in round 18. Ainsley Mann at GS for Port Mac is a focal point for her side and the Hatherleigh defence line will need to work hard to stop the ball geng into her hands. At the other end of the court Hatherleigh's Melita Thwaites is strong accurate goalie who works hard to get the best posion to shoot, Brydie McPherson and Fiona Cram work well in the defensive circle and will ensure the Eagles goalies earn every shot. Paige Cawthorne works hard at centre for the Bay with strong aacking moves and hard defensive work, she will lineup on Keely Jones, a creave centre court player, who has added speed to the Eagles aack line. The bale between veterans Demons’ Deanne Spencer (WA) and the Eagles’ Fiona Jackman (WD) will be entertaining. The margin was 8 the last me these 2 sides met in favour of Port Mac. This game should go the same way, thought Hatherleigh won't make it easy.

B GRADE

Kalangadoo v Hatherleigh

Kalangadoo take on Hatherleigh in the B Grade Second Semi Final. With the Pies having the upper hand winning the minor round games by 12 & 8. Kalangadoo is lead on court by experienced campaigner Jamie Ryan, who works relessly in the mid court. She will come up against either Ali McClelland or Karen Bowman who will have their work cut out to limit her opportunies. Gina Gogel and Rhianna May are strong and accurate goalies and the Hatherleigh defenders in Marnie Jolly, Georgia Gray, Sarah Beare and Maddie Nunan will work hard to limit their opportunies. Any of these 4 could line up in the WD posion and will also need to be at their best, as Lucy Williams for the Pies, is a creave play maker at WA. The Hatherleigh aack line has various combinaons with either McClelland or Ellie Cook taking on the WA posion. The Eagles goalies in Cook, Eliza Burton and

Olivia Slaery have piled on over 1000 goals this season and have worked hard on their accuracy and rebounding when required. Emma Mules, Emily Mulraney and Bec White will need to work hard to stop the ball geng into the Eagles goal circle as they rarely miss. The Pies should come away with the win but expect the margin to be closer than in their first 2 encounters.

A RESERVE

Kalangadoo v Hatherleigh

Kalangadoo take on Hatherleigh in the A Reserve and has had the upper hand on both occasions this season. Hatherleigh, however, should not be taken lightly. Club stalwarts Melissa Russell (Kalangadoo) and Maddie Redman (Hatherleigh) will have a great tussle in their respecve posions. Russell will probably line up in the circle alongside her daughter Shayden, who is an accurate and creave player. Anthea Paerson is also an opon in the Pies aack line. Sophie Wrightson is a dynamic young player for Kalangadoo and ensure delivery into the circle is creave. 17 & Under player Deni Brown or Lucy Corman may line up in the centre posion for the Eagles and they will match up on either Wrightson or Paerson. Kalangadoo's defence line in Reanna Wetherall, Shanae Neale and Sam Crute have been ght defensive unit all season and the Eagles goalies in Abby Wight, Imogen Nowak and Eliza Mewe will need to make the most of every opportunity. The Pies should come away with the win but it will be under 10 goals.

A GRADE

Glencoe v Kalangadoo

Minor round premiers Glencoe take on Kalangadoo in the A Grade Second Semi Final at Hatherleigh. Glencoe have a strong goal circle in Jenna Paproth and Chantelle Cocks, both accurate shooters who combine well and move with ease in the circle. Down the other end of the court Kalangadoo's Ebony McDiarmid is a strong force within the Pies' goal circle, supported well by Abbey Duncan, both working hard and shoong with accuracy Glencoe's Sarah Edwards leads the defensive line up for the Murphies, supported from outside the circle by WD Alice Tentye, working any turnovers and loose balls back down the court to their goalies. Kalangadoo's young defensive lineup of Georgia Duncan, Lara Munro and Georgia Genle are a formidable presence on the court, combining well and applying intense pressure in the defensive end, creang turnovers and fighng hard for intercepts. Both the Murphies and the Pies have had a win in the minor round, however Glencoe will fight hard to come away with the win and head straight through to the Grand Final in a close fought game.

Tantanoola 35 def by Kalangadoo 42

In less than ideal weather condions Tantanoola came out to a firing start scoring the first five goals of the match. Once Kalangadoo seled, they were able to fight back and produce a small two goal lead by the end of the first quarter Amy Mason and Chloe Taylor combined well to put pressure on the Kalangadoo goalies and make them work hard for every opportunity Maddi Wilkinson and Jodi Greenwood used their experience together to open up the goal circle space. Leah Kuiper and Ange Case had a ght one on one tussle up the court and were dominant in controlling the court for their respecve sides. Tant made use of their rolling subs with the fresh legs instantly impacng the game and making Kalangadoo must adjust to their new opponents. However, Kalangadoo held firm and adapted well maintaining a three-goal lead at the half me break. Tantanoola once again tried other opons to lessen the impact of the Pies, but Kalangadoo moved Greenwood into Centre and Nicole Reeves back into GA for direcons and more opons, but Kuiper and Kath Reilly cut off these passes which made Kalangadoo revert back to their original posions. Sally Peters was the main focal point and used her speed in the goal area combined with Holly Walker to try to peg back the lead for the Tigers. In the end Kalangadoo combined well as a team and connued on with strong defence and paence to take out the win to head into the preliminary finals to Tantanoola 35 to Kalangadoo 42.

Best players - Tantanoola: Sally Peters & Kath Reilly; Kalangadoo: Maddi Wilkinson & Gemma Box.

Going into the first quarter Port Mac were the dominant team playing strong from the start and coming out hot. At quarter me they were up by 3 and the weather was not playing the game with wind being crazy and the rain starng to come down strong. Going into the second quarter both teams came out strong but with a few blood rules and changes from the girls working hard, Tantanoola found their groove and worked the goals back by both their defenders Indianna Marshall and Danni Rutkowski and their strong aack line of Chloe McCallum and Danni Vanderheul's pressure. Half me Tantanoola were up by 2. Going into the second half the Tigers made some changes bringing on some one of their youngest players Charli Kaigg and one of their most experienced, Tarrah Taylor. Port MacDonnell defence Ashlee Schwereger and Stevie Collins combined well to gain touches and some rebounds. Tantanoola's C Danni Vanderheul and Port MacDonnell's C Mackenzie Millard baled tough all game. Hijisa Hale and Lauren Fensom gave Tantanoola a 6 goal lead at three quarter me with accurate shoong. Some great feeding from Jessica Grigg, Elivia Stanley and Kelly Millard from Port MacDonnell's aack line to get them within 3 goals. Time was cking and against Port MacDonnell which allowed Tantanoola to come back with the win by 4 goals.

Best players - Tantanoola: Lauren Fensom & Indianna Marshall; Port MacDonnell: Ashlee Schwereger & Mackenzie Millard.

A RESERVE

Port MacDonnell 55 def Glencoe 31

Port MacDonnell came out firing and got a 13 goal lead with the Narelle Lewis, Brooke Williams & Kelli von Stanke combining well and

were unstoppable. Glencoe made defensive changes to try to shut down the Port MacDonnell aack line by bringing Alannah Clayton into the goal circle for some height and intensity. In the second quarter Glencoe came out firing and had hands all over the ball, creang mulple turnovers that Zoe Mulraney converted on the score board. Jessie Gosden and Chloe Hentschke created drives through the mid court even with the pressure Michelle Moore and Bailee Lewis applied. Shannon Scheidl shut her goal aack down in the third quarter making it impossible for her to score. Madeline Watson had to step up and work extra hard to get in posion and score off the turn overs. In the final quarter Glencoe brought on some fresh legs in Jorja Mitchell. Samantha Brierley, Samantha Cordy and Alannah Clayton created pressure in the goal circle making it difficult for Port MacDonnell goalies to find their rhythm. Lara Wilson worked hard down the opposite end forcing turnovers and even a held ball.

A GRADE Robe 47 def by Tantanoola 55

Robe and Tantanoola played off in the A Grade First Semi Final, Robe won the toss and took the first centre pass, however defensive pressure from Tantanoola caused early turnovers and they pushed out to a handy 4 goal lead Robe seled and scored their first through Demi Carter The Roosters struggled to adjust to the umpiring, while the Tigers seled, this caused an early taccal change with Robe centre Annie Regnier swapping with Sophie Bates at WD With defensive pressure causing issues for both sides, the remainder of the quarter went goal for goal 9 - 14 At the break Regnier & Bates swapped back to their original posions Robe scored the first 2 goals of the second quarter narrowing the lead to 3 Both teams struggled to sele. But strong work by Casey Walker in Centre for the Tigers, feeding the ball with precision to Emma Gould and Jami Walker who capitalised on their scoring opportunies, with Gould's height causing headaches for Emillie Gould and Alannah Jennings At the other end Robe's feeders Regnier & Lucy Perkins were working overme to break through the Tigers defence, with their goalies Carter and Sarah Laurie making the most of their limited opportunies Strong defensive work by Kate Bromley, Bella Poulish & Shelby Ryan helped Tantanoola out to an 11 goal lead at half me Robe broke the Tigers' first pass and from there they went goal for goal. Robe showed paence in aack, while Tantanoola struggled to break through the defensive work of Robe's aack line Tantanoola swapped Bromley & Poulish at the 5 minute mark, Robe connued to apply pressure in Tantanoola's aacking end with youngster Sophie Bates keeping Tigers playmaker Kate Varcoe quiet Tantanoola increased their lead by 1 heading into the last 12 goals up Robe came out firing in the last, with clever defence turning over Tantanoola's first 2 centre passes to score the first 3 games of the quarter Tantanoola seled and scored Tantanoola returned Bromley and Poulish to their original posions Robe's movement in the aack line was swi and both Carter and Laurie were finding the post and shoong accurately J Walker ulised her circle feeders to give herself the best opportunity to score and rarely missed an opportunity Despite Robe's strong last quarter Tantanoola had done enough in the first half to secure the opportunity to play in the preliminary final

Best players - Glencoe: Ruby Buckley & Violet Thorne; Kongorong: Abby Brant & Addison Graney
Best players - Robe: Sarah Laurie & Sophie Bates; Tantanoola: Jami Walker & Casey Walker

17 & Under: Trying condions and a slow start saw us in chase mode for the 1st quarter. The second saw us flick the switch and start playing much smarter netball. We adapted to the condions and played with paence and confidence and were never headed once we got our nose in front. Niah played a fantasc game at GA (only found out she was playing there 1/2 an hour before start) shoong and moving like she’d been there all season. Her on court leadership lis everyone around her. Chloe B and Hannah were both under the weather but went out at gave 100% and played their roles perfectly. Bella was up against it at GK but played in front and off the body geng some vital turnovers

against a much taller opponent. Amber played a blinder at WA and rarely wasted a ball, her feeding was spot on. Deni was her super reliable self, making herself an opon all over the court and aacking hard in D. Chloe G once again our quiet achiever picking up turnovers and always there as an opon on the reset. It was a 100% effort from girls and they should be very proud of their effort. Thanks to Luca and Sylvia for helping us out, to Ange for scoring, Kalli for her bench support and all our supporters who braved the condions especially with only one team in. We heard you all and the girls appreciated it immensely. Best players Niah Faulkner Hannah Bellinger.

those condions. Our defence line in Emily and Isabelle put lots of pressure on Glencoe goalies in and out of the ring, which was creang lots of turnovers for us. Jess and Hannah at WD got hands over the ball and took some mely intercepts and their strong driving down court bringing the ball out of defence. Our goalies Sophie and Poppy worked well in the circle and created space for each other and moved the ball around to create that space. Also fantasc shoong in not ideal weather for goalies. Alice, Hope and Wren played the mid court supporng our goalies with precision passing. Their pressure all over the court turned the ball over to our advantage. Well done girls, so proud of you all. Thanks to Karen for scoring for us and all the support we had around the court. Lastly big thanks to Dawn, fantasc support to me and all the girls.

17 & Under: Hatherleigh 62 defeated Port MacDonnell 55. The first week of finals saw us face off against a very strong Hatherleigh side in the first eliminaon final. We had been working hard for the last few weeks in preparaon for this matchup, coming off a 7 goal loss the last me we met. The Eagles were missing key goalie, Kalli Nele, but had plenty of depth to absorb this loss. Our girls started strong, turning over the first centre pass to score the first two goals of the game. Our defenders worked overme to snag any loose ball that came their way and forced errors on the opposion's behalf. Our transion down the court was excellent, working our way through their mid court zone much beer than the last me we played each other, finishing four goals ahead at the quarter me break. In the second quarter, several taccal changes were made by us to try and counteract the pressure Hatherleigh were pung on us all over the court and stop their run on. Unfortunately, we found ourselves with a deficit of 9 goals at half me. Sophie Lewis worked relessly through the middle, creang a number of defensive turnovers for our team and pushing hard through the mid court to create offence. We had pegged the margin back slightly by three quarter me and heading into the last, our girls knew they could leave nothing on the court if we wanted to come away with the win. Lilly Day was again dominant in goals, leading out of the circle well to provide an opon in transion and also holding beaufully in the circle. We fought hard as a team and showed impressive determinaon, not giving up unl the final whistle blew. In the end, it was Hatherleigh that claimed the win and will progress to the preliminary final, but it wasn't without a

valiant effort from the Port MacDonnell girls who pla fantasc game of finals netball. A huge congratulaons to the girls f making it this far, you've had a fantasc season and should all be incredibly proud of yourselves. Best players: Lilly Day, Sophie Lewis.

B Grade: Tantanoola 31 defeated Port MacDonnell 27. Bad luck girls! We fought har through the challenges of the weather and our injuries. Mackenzie once again work relessly all game to get touches and great feeds. K Liv and Jess all worked together in a combinaon tha hasn't been seen this season. It was a tough season all round with each team pr they have potenal to be a t 4 finish. Super proud we g there and only went down by 4! Shout out to all the girls and big thanks to all the helper throughout the season who were scorers, mers, primary carers, coaches. Best play Mackenzie Millard, Ashlee Schwereger

A Reserve: Port MacDonnell 55 defeated Glencoe 31. What an incredible start to our finals! Everyone came out firing and the level of intensity that everyone brought on the day was unmatched. The aacking line worked seamlessly, demonstrang the best teamwork we've seen all year. Our defence were equally as impressive, creang numerous turnovers with exceponal hand pressure that resulted in loose balls we quickly capitalised on. Overall, it was a fantasc game of teamwork and skill from start to finish. Huge congratulaons to Brooke Williams who played her 350th club game, and also to Narelle Lewis, who played her 400th club game. What massive achievements, congratulaons to you both!
