REGIONAL DIRECTOR’S REPORT We welcome the three leagues to Kongorong this weekend for the eighth Limestone Coast Regional Carnival and wish all players, coaches, officials, sponsors and support staff a very successful and enjoyable carnival. As we reach the half way mark of the 2022 season I think we all hoped our sport would be back to what we call normal. We s ll have the shadow of Covid over our spor ng landscape and are trying to live with it rather than have lockdowns. There is no doubt it has put a strain on leagues and clubs by affec ng players, coaches, administrators, support staff, volunteers and spectators and I hope we don’t lose too many people in these roles in the future. Last year we saw a change of format to the carnival and this enhanced what we were able to deliver. We look forward to seeing the Under 15 and Under 17.5 teams compete in the round robin format and hope we have a great spectacle in the senior game between the MSEFL and KNTFL. We hope all players enjoy the opportunity to represent their leagues and to test themselves against the best players on the Limestone Coast. As we all know sponsorship is the lifeblood of sport and we greatly appreciate the ongoing support of Iberdrola Australia as our Major Sponsor for the carnival, along with Associate Sponsors NBC Financial Services and klas bilt. We thank them all for their support and hope you support these sponsors as it benefits our communi es. The carnival is now a prominent part of the football calendar on the Limestone Coast with great rivalry between the three leagues at senior and junior levels. This has proven to be a great breeding ground for the elite juniors in our zone and Glenelg Football Club. We thank the Glenelg Football Club for their con nued support of the junior carnival and hope a number of our players get the opportunity to represent the Glenelg Football Club in the future.

Players compe ng in the Limestone Coast Regional Carnival will have the opportunity to be selected in the South East Zone team which will contest the South Australian Country Championships being played in Whyalla on the 16th and 17th July 2022. Once again, we will have a men’s and women’s team compete at the carnival, and we wish the new men’s coach Jack Kelly and women’s coach Michael Hunt and their teams a successful weekend. I wish to acknowledge the efforts of everyone involved in preparing teams for this year’s carnival including the League Representa ves who make up the management group for the carnival, to the Umpires, Volunteers and League Execu ves for their hard work and dedica on to ensure this weekend is a great success. I wish to acknowledge the work of Peter and Naomi Mitchell and the MSEFL Execu ve along with the Kongorong Football Club and the Limestone Coast Regional Carnival Management Commi ee in preparing, coordina ng and managing the carnival. There has been a lot of work in trying to con nually improve the carnival and a big thank you to all involved. We trust all in a endance at the Limestone Coast Regional Carnival will enjoy the compe ve football played, catch up with many old friends and enjoy the best on offer of South East football. Looking forward to seeing you all next year when the event returns to the KNTFL, and my best wishes to all for the rest of the year. All the very best to all teams. Sco Duncan South East Regional Football Advisory Council Member

MSEFL PRESIDENT’S WELCOME On behalf of the Mid South Eastern Football League, I welcome everyone to Kongorong for this year's carnival. I wish our hos ng club Kongorong, led by President Amanda Sealey, all the very best in presen ng their facili es to our guests, the WBFL and KNTFL. Thanks to the Execu ve of the WBFL and KNTFL for their co-opera on and involvement in today's football matches for the 8th South East Zone Carnival. As a league we are looking forward to the contests today as it allows our best footballers in underage and senior level an opportunity to play representa ve football at a h i g h e r l eve l . T h e f r i e n d s h i ps a n d acquaintances that will be made and renewed should allow for fond memories for a long me. Senior coach Ben McGregor and selector Jase Faulkner and their support staff have a keen and talented squad. The Under 15 and 17.5 sides will test the skills of the juniors of all leagues, and I believe will have as much interest as the Senior match and we will see the naming of a team of the carnival for both these age groups, players that have performed the best on the day from all three leagues. Thank you to Graham Dowie and his team for all the work done to get to today. I acknowledge the donors of trophies for today's contest and also acknowledge the Sco Group of Companies, IDM Sports, JS Sports, First Super, Iberdrola Australia, Collin's Court Butchers and Ma hews Petroleum as our major interleague sponsors along with all of our other season sponsors.

I thank Sco Duncan for his reless efforts keeping the carnival strong and an event that is important for all three leagues on their football calendars. Sco 's passion and ongoing enthusiasm for both our carnival and the country championships is resolute and has been testament to our great success as the South East side has been the benchmark zone in the past 10 country championships. Many thanks also to the parents, partners and friends who have supported the players and thank you to our nine member clubs that have allowed their players to represent our league. To all players from the Mid South Eastern Football League, thank you for your commitment in represen ng your league and hopefully you all get enjoyment and sa sfac on from the challenge of the matches. I trust we have compe ve games throughout the day but most importantly the game is played in the right spirit and football is the winner on the day. I wish everyone a successful day, no injuries to any players and a safe return home. Peter Mitchell Mid South Eastern Football League President

MSEFL COACH’S REPORT The South East Zone Carnival has become one of the highlights on the football calendar in our region and I am very much looking forward to today's match as we take on the KNTFL in a full four quarter match on our home patch at Kongorong. KNTFL PRESIDENT’S WELCOME The KNTFL is pleased to be back playing a full length game of Interleague footy at Kongorong against our close rivals MSEFL. Thank you to Nick Davis and Sam Logan for training and selec ng our team. To our dedicated trainers, your me and effort is greatly appreciated. Special thanks again to our Interleague sponsors Merre

Logging, Bendigo Bank and Naracoorte SportsPower. The game doesn’t happen without the umpires from all our leagues pu ng their hand up to help on a long weekend. To all players and supporters have an enjoyable day and a safe trip home. Peter McLellan KNTFL President

KNTFL COACHES REPORT Senior Report On behalf of the players, I would like to thank the Mid South Eastern and KNTFL football leagues for once again providing the opportunity to par cipate in interleague football. A er two seasons si ng out, we are excited to be back compe ng at interleague level. We have compiled as squad that we hope can be compe ve and includes some experienced interleague performers and many making their debut at interleague level. With good numbers at trainings, we hope that with a couple of missed years the desire to play at interleague level remains strong into the future. With an opportunity to be selected in the South East Zone squad I hope all players can perform well today. Good luck to the junior grades and hopefully for supporters it is a great day of interleague football. Nick Davis U/15's Report A wonderful opportunity awaits our finest young talent in our region to showcase their skills against their peers here in the Limestone Coast with this wonderful Carnival. A big thank you to everyone behind the scenes that makes it happen, an event like this takes a lot of work to put together and the reward being that it is something that will remain very special to everyone involved especially for the young lads playing. On a personal level I would like to thank Rob Hansberry and Sue Taylor (KNTFL Execu ve) for their support along with the help from Rob Will (Assistant Coach) and Ash Stenner (KNTFL Glenelg Academy Coach) in helping select and run trainings. The KNTFL has sent a well-balanced Under 15 team with last season's grand finalists Bordertown and Naracoorte well represented but every club has someone in the final squad. KNTFL’s Under 14 best and fairest winner last

season Ned McCarthy along with Charlie Brodie, Cambell Will and Jed Peterson should have some impact in this carnival but I do believe the Knights strength will be its depth of talent. Best of luck to all teams playing. John du Rand U/17.5's Report I am extremely honoured to be given the opportunity to be involved in coaching this wonderful group of up and coming young footballers again this year. Choosing a team of 23 lads from across the whole league is never an easy task and tough decisions have to be made, thank you to all the lads that tried out for selec on. The KNTFL raised the age of our U17 to U17.5 this year bringing it into line with the MSEFL and also the same as interleague age. This enables us to get a more balanced look at all lads eligible to play. We have approximately 13 lads on our selec on list that already have Glenelg experience in one way or another, which has given these lads the opportunity to experience football at a higher level already, and hopefully this shows today. With Kyby and Naracoorte leading the way in the KNTFL compe on this year so far, they will have a strong representa on in this group, with a good spread then across the rest of the league. Interleague is a fantas c opportunity to showcase the pick of the crop of up and coming young footballers from across the Limestone coast and I wish all the lads playing today all the best. Lastly thank you to Will Limbert my assistant, and all the wonderful volunteers that have given up their me over the last few weeks to help get us here today. Andrew Shepherd
