Peter Mitchell Mid South Eastern Football League President
Our football and netball region con nues to face a number of challenges to our stable environment. From my perspec ve, our League and clubs need to ensure that we stay united and are abreast of these outside pressures to make sure that we con nue to be in the best posi on possible going forward. Change at any level presents us with opportuni es and threats, so it is challenging mes ahead for all Clubs and the League. We must ensure that we con nue to work together, con nue to focus on our core objec ves in our clubs and League which include Facili es, Junior Development, Volunteers, Financial Stability, Risk Management and Community Ties, strive for con nuous improvement, and con nue to meet our market place, offer opportuni es for our volunteers and youth in order for all of us to remain viable, sustainable and relevant to our communi es well into the future. With the recent applica on of the Casterton Sandford Football and Netball Clubs to join our League we are faced with the real prospect of a change and poten al further changes that will impact our club and League. We must make sure that our voices are heard and that any change ensures the long term sustainability of all our clubs and League is maintained and enhanced.
panel. The League would love to hear from those that have just re red as footballers and even our younger males and females that have a love of the game and would like to be involved.
Thank you to Robe (1st Semi), Mount Burr (2nd Semi), & Kalangadoo (Preliminary Final) for showcasing your club facili es and for being excellent hosts in the three finals and I am certain today once again at Kalangadoo will be no Despitexcep on.etherecent
One of the many high points of any season is always the interleague compe on. I thank all the clubs and players for their con nued support. The League par cipated in the SE zone carnival against the KNTFL in the Seniors & against the WBFL & KNTFL in the U15's & U17's on the June long weekend, which was well hosted by our League at Kongorong. I take this opportunity to thank Senior Coach Ben McGregor, Under 17 Coach Reece Duncan, Under 15 Coach Chrissy Mules and their players and support staff for their efforts. Interleague football showcases our League and provides a pathway and opportunity for our players. From the Senior Carnival the MSEFL had eight players (the most ever for our League) Andrew Stone, Tye McManus, Ben Gregory, Patrick Davies and Mitch Lowe (Kalangadoo), Sam Wallis (Mount Burr), Dylan Childs (Glencoe) and Mark Marrio (Hatherleigh) chosen in the SE Zone team to play in the SA Country Championships at Whyalla. Despite losing our first game narrowly, our second game saw us having a commanding win and with other results going our way we ended up in the grand final and won the carnival in a close contest. Ben McGregor was an assistant coach, Sam Benne was our trainer and Ma Ballintyne carried the drinks.
Please remember, as clubs, to look a er your volunteers and as supporters, to assist and volunteer your me / skills wherever possible to make your Club more successful and to share the workload. It really does help your club commi ees to know that they can rely on some jobs being handled – so well done to all volunteers that have assisted each club and in turn assisted the League in becoming stronger. The League and all clubs can become much be er with more 'Givers'' and less 'Takers''.
The Presenta ons for Seniors and Juniors was once again a combined affair with our Netball partners held at the Millicent War Memorial Civic and Arts Centre. The day ran smoothly and we will con nue to consult with clubs to seek ideas for any suggested improvements. Thank you to the Port MacDonnell Football / Netball Club for catering to the a endees superbly
And the biggest thank you I have is reserved for my wife, Naomi Mitchell, who for the past 15 years has served the League as Assistant Secretary for 1 year and the past 14 years as Secretary. The League has been blessed and fortunate to have had such a dedicated administrator that has assisted and delivered to clubs in a crazy world of fast pace and what seems like never ending change! Not every club would be happy with the answers to some of their ques ons, but the interpreta on and integrity given by Naomi in dealing with all club ma ers was at the highest professional level and I am sure clubs are thankful for her efforts. Naomi has said for several years that ''this is the last year'' and I've been able to squeeze as much as I can out of her. Thank you for everything you have done for our great League.
It has been a good season for the netballers and we are delighted with their successes and we are keen to con nue to build on and strengthen the rela onship again next season. Thanks Sara to you and your team on a job well done.
every season. Thank you to friends and family that assisted in any way that you did. Thank you to all clubs that made me and all Board members welcome throughout the year To those that provided any feedback on how the Board can be of be er assistance to Clubs, thank you.
We appreciate the support of Murray South East Regional Director and Community Football Board director Sco Duncan, SANFL SE Football Opera ons Coordinator Michael Mourbey, staff at the Community Football Board, and SANFL South East Regional Game Development Officer Heath Sims. Our rela onship with the Glenelg Football Club con nues to evolve and the opportunity for our young footballers at U18 & U16 levels has seen good numbers of footballers regularly travelling to be involved at the next level. This creates wonderful opportuni es for them to con nue their football journey
Our final crowds have so far have been excellent and shows that the interest in the MSEFL is the equal of any compe on in this region. The mix of mul ple clubs involved in football and netball final contests has helped to increase crowd numbers and add to the atmosphere at the ground.
It is with pleasure that I present my Grand Final report to you as President of the Mid South Eastern Football League (MSEFL).
Xpress Signs have once again published the Budget this season online culmina ng in this week's superb Grand Final Budget publica on, which is a collector's item for all MSEFL enthusiasts and Clubs. Special thanks to the SE Voice for providing an informa ve print sec on of the Budget in their paper, which was greatly appreciated by many MSEFL followers.
So, where possible please consider our sponsors when you need anything, and then thank them for their support of our league.
Thanks to all those people that have assisted me as President, especially all of the Senior Board Dennis Muhovics, Trevor Ling, Jo Michelmore, Jo Dean & Naomi Mitchell along with the Junior Execu ve Graham Dowie, Gary Wilson, Ma Cockrum and Umpires Director Neil Webber. All have worked well as a team and I hope we have delivered the needs and requirements of Clubs. The Board has been willing to share the heavy administra ve workload and I especially thank my wife, Naomi Mitchell in her role as League Secretary. I urge all clubs that are not currently represented to consider nomina ng a delegate to the Execu ve. There is a requirement for someone with the following skill sets; liaising with the media with reports, IT skills, diplomacy, level headedness and to occasionally think outside of the square in looking at opportuni es and solu ons to the many issues that seem to raise their heads during
All outlets of the Media (print, radio & web sites) have promoted the MSEFL very well, however I believe we all need to con nue to provide good stories to the media so that we get be er coverage of our League.
We acknowledge the generous sponsorship provided by our major sponsor of the Family League – The Sco Group of Companies. In a rela onship that goes back to 2006 this has been a significant contribu on and we thank them for their con nued support. All of our season sponsors have been promoted in the Budget and include the following: First Super, South East Property Sales & Management, Belgravia Sports Apparel, IDM Sports, Ma hews Petroleum, Iberdrola Australia, Sherrin, Thomas Foods Interna onal, Marjadah, Glenelg Football Club, Somerset Hotel Motel, Klas Bilt, In2 Trophies Monogramming & Workwear, Collins Court Butchers, Richmond Park White Suffolk, Tony Pasin, Troy Bell, Nick McBride, Willow Financial Services, Hyland & Fox Signs, SEC Group & DiGiorgio Family Wines.
It is pleasing that the netball and football rela onships are con nuing to get be er at Club and League level, but there will always be ways to improve and strengthen those bonds. Both sports rely on each other being successful to ensure a vibrant and sustainable compe on in all grades.
Thanks to our Match Review Officers and Tribunal Commissioners that have been needed to adjudicate on a couple of occasions throughout the season and thanks for your commitment and assistance.
MSEFL PRESIDENT’S REPORT
Neil Webber, our Umpires Director once again had another challenging year with many injuries and unavailability's, however good support and co-opera on from clubs ensured that all posi ons were filled each week. The League s ll needs to gain new umpires to ensure that we con nue to have adequate numbers and to keep the umpiring panel strong. I encourage any newly re red player or any person (male or female) that may be interested in becoming an umpire to come forward – training and assistance is provided and it is a great way to s ll be involved in the game that we all love. Our Umpire Scholarship is available to encourage and reward new central umpires and we hope that it will provide a pathway to bolster our ageing umpire
Congratula ons to Mail Medal winner Port MacDonnell's Tim Sullivan, Reserves Carthew Medal winner Kalangadoo's Chrissy Mules, some 29 years a er his father won the same medal, Senior Colts Malseed Medal winner Kongorong's Maverick Cooper and Junior Colts Mansell Medal winner Glencoe's Lachie Brierley and all other trophy winners. Also, player life membership was awarded to Nathan Muhovics from Mount Burr and life membership was awarded to Fred Smith. Congratula ons on being recognised through many years of involvement within the MSEFL.
As always, there will be sec ons of the Cons tu on / Bylaws, which need to be reviewed, and I urge all clubs to submit no ces of mo on for considera on at our AGM later in the year
Finally, a big thank you to all partners and family of the Board to allow them the me necessary for mee ng their obliga ons to our clubs at various mes throughout the year with mee ngs etc. Special thanks to my family, all have put up with a lot throughout the year and your support is much appreciated for all that I'm involved in.
There will be some great netball and football contests in every grade today where seven of our nine clubs are represented and I hope that all players and supporters have some special memories of 'that one day in September'.
All roads lead to Kalangadoo for the 2022 Mid South Eastern Football League (MSEFL) Grand Final and on behalf of the Mid South Eastern Football League I extend a warm welcome to you as we seek an exci ng finish to 2022 in all grades of Netball and Football a er a sensa onal season with some close contests having already been played in the finals series.
I thank all of the League's member clubs for your efforts and achievements on and off the field this year as well as the work that you do in your communi es as leaders. People in our communi es are reliant on the social and spor ng opportuni es that are provided by the Football and Netball Clubs. Our communi es are faced with many challenges in today's world and our spor ng clubs need to con nue to be the hub of the community providing opportuni es and social interac on for everyone. We must always strive for con nuous improvement to ensure the long term viability and sustainability of the League and all member clubs. It is fantas c to see the obvious pride and joy in the support that goes for each club from their communi es and the people in it and I'm sure we'll see plenty of club colours and vocal support today in all football and netball contests.
As in previous years, imbalances on the scoreboard and lack of numbers have been issues in our underage compe ons. It is pleasing to see clubs con nue to work towards providing the playing opportuni es star ng at Auskick and the Under 11's as this is cri cal to sustaining our junior numbers in later years. Thanks also to Heath Sims, SANFL Game Development Coordinator – South East for all the support you provide at this level. I con nue to urge all clubs to work with schools and Auskick programs to provide that pathway for your next MSEFL club footballers.
Remember that not everyone can win on the field, but we must all be winners off the field.
heavy rain throughout the district in the last two months, the oval surface is in great condi on and all other ma ers will be taken care of under the leadership of Kalangadoo Football Club President Reece Carlson.
Be kind to each other and I hope that you have a great Grand Final Day and have a safe trip home.
To my family, I think they thought this day would never come when I would finally step down as MSEFL Secretary, but my biggest thank you goes to our three wonderful children who have grown up to be amazing young adults and have known nothing else other than both mum and dad being involved at commi ee level for one or more organisa ons.
To the players and officials that where then selected to play for the South East Zone team at the SA Country Championships - Andrew Stone, Tye McManus, Ben Gregory, Patrick Davies and Mitch Lowe (Kalangadoo), Sam Wallis (Mount Burr), Dylan Childs (Glencoe) and Mark Marrio (Hatherleigh), officials Ben McGregor (Port MacDonnell) Assistant Coach, Sam Benne (Hatherleigh) Trainer and Peter Mitchell (League) Team Manager, congratula ons on your selec on and coming away with the tle of SA Country Champions for 2022 – well done.
Congratula ons to all our medal and award winners who took home individual honours at our presenta ons, especially Tim Sullivan (Port MacDonnell) who had a stellar season to win our Mail Medal by an outstanding 10 votes, Chris Mules (Kalangadoo) showed his class in taking out this year's Carthew Medal, Maverick Cooper (Kongorong) was our Senior Colts Malseed Medallist and Lachie Brierley (Glencoe) who had a very consistent season was awarded the Mansell Medal as the junior colt best & fairest. Thank you and well done to the Port MacDonnell Football and Netball clubs and all their volunteers for their catering of the day. It is a huge undertaking for clubs to cater for both junior and senior presenta ons, but holding them all on the one day certainly makes this a li le easier
In what has been a challenging couple of years it was extremely pleasing that we have been able to get to today with very minimal COVID interrup ons. I'm aware that all clubs were impacted to some degree during the year, and this is probably a sign of the mes as we all learn to live in a COVID world.
To Graham Dowie and the Junior Execu ve –Ma Cockrum and Gary "Tug" Wilson congratula ons on another well run year. Graham re-joined the Junior Execu ve when at the Junior League AGM no nomina ons for Junior President were received. Rather than see the Junior League go into recess he willingly put his hand up to once again lead the Junior Execu ve to ensure our junior compe ons con nue to have their own separate iden ty within our League.
To the Kalangadoo Football and Netball Clubs and really the en re Kalangadoo Community thank you and congratula ons for accep ng the challenge of hos ng both a preliminary and grand final. If last week is anything to go by, all the I's will be do ed and the T's crossed to ensure everyone is well catered for and everything is in place for today's showcase occasion. The recent clubroom development that this community was able to achieve a er many of their grant applica ons were unsuccessful gives you an insight into the resilience and spirit that the Kalangadoo Football and Netball Club has become renowned for
And to all the players, playing in a grand final is a great experience, a memory that you will have to cherish for a life me. Remember not to lose sight of the big picture and the team effort that has got you here today. Play to your poten al and enjoy the atmosphere created all for you, the rest of us will look forward to seeing you out on the field.
MSEFL SECRETARY’S REPORT
all our club coaches, both junior and senior We have a vast knowledge base of coaches within our League and it is really pleasing to see them come together over the me of interleague trainings and game day to improve the experience for all players. To our junior interleague coaches in Reece Duncan (17's) and Chris Mules (15's) thank you for your me and dedica on you provided to give the best in our league the opportunity to represent the MSEFL.
Our “Family League” is a unique rela onship between both football and netball. Thank you to Sara and all Netball Execu ve for your commitment to ac vely promo ng strong rela onships between football and netball, may we con nue to develop them at League level se ng a good example for our clubs to follow. Congratula ons to all compe ng football and netball teams who have made it here today for the 'Big Dance'. post office and general store. All this is not due to a lack of industry within the town, as Timberlink employs around 200 people and is one of the largest employers in the region. Tarpeena is also the closest outlying town to Mount Gambier, so don't tell me losing a football club won't have a detrimental impact on a community!
Welcome to Kalangadoo and the 2022 Mid South Eastern Football and Netball Leagues Grand Final Day
Our Zone Carnival was hosted superbly by the Kongorong Football Club back in June and in the senior game we came up against a very strong and well drilled KNTFL. Whilst not ge ng the results we were a er the game was of an extremely high standard and all players chosen to represent the MSEFL should be jus fiably proud of your efforts. Thanks to Ben McGregor who once again took on the role of senior coach. His dedica on and commitment to representa ve footy is highly valued and I certainly hope that a carnival victory isn't too far away. Our underage sides con nue to improve at this level, and this is largely due to

in my report I wrote that we all know what a great league we have, well now it appears that the Casterton/Sandford Football and Netball Club are wan ng to be a part the Family League. Whilst not denying their decision to join the MSEFL, one has to wonder who loaded the gun for them to fire it. It is no secret that a neighbouring league has been grumbling for years that they want change as they deem their compe on boring and repe ve (whose fault is that?) but why should the MSEFL and all our clubs bear the brunt of change and put themselves at risk for the sake of city centric views and ideology? Neither the League nor any of our clubs have ac vely sought change and we must remain in control of our League. We have a prime example of what happens to a community when a football club ceases to exist – Tarpeena. Although the football club is s ll an ac ve organisa on, they haven't par cipated in the MSEFL since 2003. Progressively over the years we have seen
To the League Board in Peter, Dennis, Trevor, Jo Michelmore and Jo Dean thank you for your commitment to our League. Without people willing to put club loyalty aside for the be erment of our league we simply wouldn't be in the strong posi on we currently are.
Enjoy your day,
Today I finally close the chapter of Mid South Eastern Football League Secretary. Having been appointed as Assistant Secretary in 2008 and League Secretary since 2009, the me has well and truly come for me to hang up the keyboard. Over the past 15 years I have made (I hope) many friends and probably some enemies, but I have enjoyed the journey and now know more about football than I really ever envisaged I would. To all the Club Presidents, Secretaries and Delegates that I have had the pleasure to work with over the years, thank you for your friendship, co-opera on and assistance. I know some mes I haven't given you the answers you were looking for, but you need to remember that the posi on of League Secretary doesn't actually get a vote at Board or Delegate level however, it was my task to implement the rules of the League. I trust I'm leaving the League in as good as shape or be er than 14 years ago and I know who ever takes on the role will enjoy the posi on and the challenges it presents. I probably won't be lost to the MSEFL en rely, I don't think I could be that lucky, as I will s ll be in the background suppor ng the incoming Secretary.
Special thanks to our final hosts so far this year in Robe, Mt Burr and Kalangadoo. The change in our by-laws now allows for the final venues to be scheduled without the need to alter them due to an A Grade side compe ng. This provides both certainty to the League and all nine clubs as to when it's their turn to host a final and also brings us in line with every other League in the State. Each final has been very well managed and this is a credit to your leadership and the many volunteers all our clubs rely on.
I must also give my thanks to Michael Mourbey our South East SANFL Football Opera ons coordinator who con nues to take a considerable amount of weekly administra ve work off my shoulders and with the extra challenges of an inept player and game day database in PlayHQ it's no wonder you've got very li le hair le !!
Today as we play, support or just watch our great game please be mindful and respec ul of those around us. Be assured that all par cipants are trying their very best to assist their team to win and the nega ve and unhelpful commentary from the sidelines will do li le in achieving the objec ve. I am also yet to see an umpire change his decision because of the advice being offered from the boundary line. Please remember that umpires are doing a job so that we can play our great game, no umpires – no game.
Naomi Mitchell MSEFL Secretary
Hard to believe that this weekend sees the culmina on of all the hard work by clubs, officials, players, coaches, volunteers and families for the 2022 season, and what a year it's been.
Thankteam.
Andrew Nitschke has con nued his role in 2022 as the MidSouth East Junior Coach Co-Ordinator and has been around to many clubs throughout the season to watch, provide feedback and ideas for our coaches. This is a real posi ve step for our league, and I really urge clubs to get on the front foot and engage Andrew as much as possible as this is a great resource and with his football knowledge and experience can provide some handy ps and ideas.
you to Mike Mourbey, our conduit between league and SANFL who this year would have one of the toughest jobs going around in guiding clubs through the rollout of the new PlayHQ program. Mikes as always has provided guidance when needed and offered valuable input throughout the
Dennis, Lingy, Jo and Jo on the Senior Execu ve once again thank you, it has been a pleasure to work with you all throughout the season and for pitching in and assis ng the Junior Execu ve when needed.

To all our clubs hos ng finals this year a special thanks, this is a massive undertaking with plenty of hard work happening behind the scenes for all, but the days go off seamlessly and are well supported by visi ng clubs and once again showcases our league to the highest level.

2022 has seen us get back to some form or normalcy with ge ng a full season underway although some weeks it was a ba le for some clubs to fill sides but credit to everyone in what has been a thriving season for our Family league once

Mitchell, the dedica on, commitment and passion you have for not only the juniors but the league in its en rety is a real credit and without the work you do behind the scenes not only during the season but off season is a credit to you and makes our life on the execu ve and club land so much easier
As with each season there are so many people to thank and these people make it a successful season each and every ear Once again thank you to everyone who makes a season successful from our players and families, volunteers, support staff and our 9 clubs that make up our great league in what can only been described as challenging mes on all fronts. Our Junior Exec with Tug Wilson and Ma y Cockrum, and extended thanks for all your help, input, and guidance throughout the 2022 season. There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes to make sure the season runs smoothly and to these guys with Naomi, I can't thank them enough as again are heavily commi ed to the success and future of the Mid SE Junior Compe on.
To finish off, I would like to wish all teams all the very best for the Grand Final today as I'm sure we are going to see some quality games and congratula ons to all winning football and netball teams.
There are many people who make games days happen and to Neil Weber and his umpiring team along with club umpires without your commitment throughout the season we don't get to play games. It can be a thankless task, but they do a great job week in and week out and a credit to Neil and the

Welcome everyone to Footy Park, Kalangadoo where all the hard work done by footballers, netballers and umpires this season reaches its finale. Joyous celebra ons for some and heartbreak for others. I wish all my umpires the very best today, you have worked really hard this year and deserve your appointments. It's always hard to do appointments during finals as there are always people who miss out, but keep posi ve, con nue to work hard and your me in the spotlight is just around the corner
To my assistant Smirk, thanks for your con nued support both on the field and off. I'm not sure why you seem to bare the brunt of all the jokes from the panel!
A big thank you to the goal umpires who volunteered to help out during the finals, you have done a faultless and excellent job and I wish you well today. To my boundary umpires, fantas c job guys. All we ask is you do the best you can and enjoy the atmosphere of finals football. We finally got George to bring along the lollies to share amongst the group and all we have to do now is get young Chad to share his chocolates… Talking about Chad, the runt of the li er for a young kid he certainly adds a lot of character to the umpire rooms with his quick wit and sarcasm. Good job Chad and don't forget the Tchoccies…oallourclub execu ves and coaches, I thank you for the support you have given to all our umpires throughout the year. Things don't always run smoothly but when issues arise they are handled professionally and with common sense. Even when clubs get a call on a Saturday morning and an umpire is needed, the support we have had has been first class, so thank you.

Today may be the end for some footballers’ careers and if it is please consider giving umpiring a go. It is a rewarding role to stay involved in football and if you stay involved with your club then it's a win/win situa on for everyone. One of the main reasons I am s ll involved is the people you meet every Saturday. People from all clubs, whether they be supporter, coaches, players or officials, it's one of the reasons our League is going strong and hopefully we can stand strong on our own feet and all s ck together and con nue our family league tradi on.
To our club umpires and those who filled in, you have probably had the toughest job of trying to be impar al in everyone's eyes. Your commitment and enthusiasm has been brilliant all year

Reece Duncan once again put his hand up to lead the U17's and as an execu ve we were buoyed by the nomina ons for this year but sadly this didn't relate to numbers on the track. Chrissy is highly creden aled and very well respected around the league and to have someone of his statue in leading our youngest charges and impart some of his footy smarts is only a Inposi ve.boththe U15 games we found the pace of the game a li le too quick with both KNTFL and WBFL both moving the ball with ease and quickly around the ground. Chrissy was constantly shuffling the boys around the ground to find the right match-ups with li le success as in the end the pace and free flowing games proved too much for our U15's.
At the end of the day a team of the carnival is selected in both grades and the league was represented in both. Congratula ons to Charlie Bevan and Mason McKenny for selec on in the U15's and Flynn Peel, Callum Sparks and Ellis Cushion for their selec on in the U17's side. The carnival itself is a huge undertaking for the league, players, families and host club

Robe had the points over the Eagles in both home and away games throughout the year but in the 2nd semi the Eagles turned the tables to inflict Robe's 1st loss in 2 years and proceed straight into today’s decider whereas Robe had to venture to Kalangadoo last week in the preliminary final where they managed to take care of Kongorong reasonably comfortably
At the end of the game there may only be a kick separa ng the 2 sides as is the closeness and a win either way would not be a surprised result especially a er the 2nd semi but whatever the result it will be a great showcase of talent of our future senior footballers within our league. Good luck to both sides.

Both teams have had a good season finishing one and two a er the minor rounds and the Eagles will go into Saturday’s decider as clear favourites.
Both teams have some old heads and will need that experience come the contest and the Magpies will look to Chris Mules, Joshua Searle, Jus n Mansell and leading goal kicker Sco Agnew, while Hatherleigh will be coun ng on Tim Merre , James Telford, Tom Bell and Todd Watson.
But as so o en with finals, look for some of the smaller players to play a big role in the day as with both sides these will play a pivotal part towards either side coming away with the silverware.
Both sides throughout the season have only had one loss and that was against each other on their home grounds in ght and tough encounters. The young Hawks secured a direct passage through to the grand final coming from 10 points down at the half to record a tough 21 point win in the end. Whereas the young Murphies had to get past Hatherleigh in the preliminary final where they got off to a flyer in the 1st quarter and were never headed throughout the game.
Kicking off the day we should be set for an entertaining game of footy with the reigning premiers in Kongorong taking on Glencoe and be well worth the early start and admission to watch this game alone.
Theday
It will be a ght ba le across the ground and the team that gets away early will be named 2022 premiers.
Glencoe will be looking for their key play makers to have a standout game in Lachy, Daniel, Tyrone Siebert and Kallan Price. These players will provide plenty of run and opportuni es for their forwards throughout the game.
will be no shortage of talent on display in this game with the Mansell Medal winner from Glencoe in Lachy Brierley and equal leading goal kicker in Daniel Ferguson running around whereas Kongorong have a more even spread with Declan Richardson leading the vote count followed closely by Harrison Elletson and Rhys Newton.
Robe have clearly been the standout team over the last couple of years with their only blemish coming in the 2nd semi. Expect the likes of Joel Bryant, Ollie McInnes, Flynn Peel and Cooper Thomas to provide plenty of run and carry through the lines.
Reserves
With the second semi being a real ba le for both sides and Glencoe making the early running and Kongorong working their way back into the game in the 2nd half we can look to expect the same thing to happen again today
Across the ground both these sides have an abundance of numbers and are very strong across every line as you work down the ground and both coaches are prepared to throw the magnets around to mix things up and give players every opportunity for game
Senior Colt's game should provide an en cing game of footy featuring two very quality sides in Hatherleigh and Robe.
For Hatherleigh it’s hard to go past Harvey
Jones who kicked 91 goals for the 2022 season. But with plenty of midfield depth in Je Faulkner, Ben Werchon, Tyson Atkinson and last year’s Mansell Medallist in Ollie Fitzgerald, expect plenty of the quality ball delivered to Harvey up forward.
Junior Colts
Janeway will also be playing a big role towards the outcome of the game.
Today's premier will have to be measured and show plenty of determina on over the 4 quarters to get over the line, but in what should be an entertaining game to get grand final day started and show how good our junior compe on is developing.
Trying to pick a winner of this game today will be like tossing a coin as is the evenness across the ground and a good chance will be the side who se les 1st will come away with the chocolates at the end of the game.
Senior Colts
Hatherleigh and Robe have had significant numbers in both interleague sides along with a few represen ng Glenelg throughout the year and this will only help with the quality of football expected to see today
But a er the weekend’s win over Glencoe the Magpies will have some momentum and will take it right up to Hatherleigh come me on Saturday
v
Both sides have a richness of talent within their sides that have played a significant amount of football throughout 2022 and will be on display for all to see today and will create havoc for both coaches during the

All junior sides made finals which is a great result and something to be super proud of! Huge thanks to Kim, Kez, Narelle and Leah for coaching and to Sara, Kristy, Ella and Megan for assis ng as managers. As always las ng friendships were made and plans are already in mo on for 2023. However, Robe's Demi Carter, Hannah Perkins and Kim Ross combine well together, with Carter and Perkins shoo ng with accuracy, and being supported and fed well by Ross from outside the circle. Magpies Maddy Bonanno and Estella Serle are strong goalies who work hard and fight for every ball, conver ng whenever possible. con nuing to apply great defensive pressure. The Murphies had done the hard work in the first half and finished strongly to be up by 16 at the final whistle.
Mount Burr and Robe faced off in the preliminary final at Kalangadoo. Mount Burr came out firing and started strongly with Abbey Fal ng shoo ng with 100% accuracy in the first quarter and Olivia Holland feeding well into the goalies. Macy Burns and Sara Smith showed strong defence for the Mozzies turning the ball over every chance they got. The second quarter saw Robe come out with a changed line up bringing Lucy Collins on at GS and Demi Bermingham to GK, which saw Robe se le and the game become more even with the quarter being goal for goal.
The game started goal for goal with intense play by both sides. Robe's defenders Emma Grant and Georgia Perkins had great pressure causing Kalangadoo's goalies Abbey Duncan and Kori Collins to overthink their shots. At the other end of the court Halle Carter and Sarah Laurie shared the shoo ng load, despite strong defensive pressure from Lauren Kain and Reanna Weatherall. Robe held a 2 goal lead at quarter me despite the play being reasonably even. In the second quarter Robe's Lucy Perkins used her speed well to create space, while Carter shot at 100% accuracy At the other end Duncan con nued to dominate for the Pies in the circle through the drive and feeding of Kirsty Egan. Kalangadoo se led and played with pa ence going into half me with a 2 goal lead. Kalangadoo scored off their first centre pass of the third quarter despite intense defensive pressure by Grant and Perkins forcing the Kalangadoo goalies to use their feeders consistently Annie Hunter applied defensive pressure through the mid court, with her team desperate for every ball. Despite this Kalangadoo se led and pushed out to a 7 goal lead at three quarter me. In the last quarter Laurie was the focal point in the circle for the Roosters however Kain's defensive pressure limited opportuni es for Robe's goalies. Kalangadoo's hands over pressure through the mid court caused many turnovers and Collins came into the game to shoot with accuracy The Pies had a convincing 13 goal win and have earnt the opportunity to play for their 10th consecu ve premiership.
Port MacDonnell faced off against Glencoe in the 13 & Under preliminary final played at Kalangadoo. Port Mac started the first quarter off strong, with Bailee Lewis being a focal point in the goal circle for Port Mac, making it difficult for her player to keep up. Kasey McLean transi oned the ball smoothly down the a ack end, also feeding accurately into the Port Mac goalies. Both teams making changes at quarter me, to shoot with confidence. Bringing Taya Bellinger on for the Murphies, made a difference for their a ack line, with her feeding and driving well down the court. Lily Jacobs and Bailee Lewis, reading off the ball had made a huge difference to the game. Both teams making changes again with Bellinger moving into GA, which was another strong change by Glencoe. The intensity in the third quarter dropped drama cally, both teams making silly errors. Coming into the last quarter, Glencoe's Isabella Brierley u lised her defensive pressure to slow Port Mac's drive down the court, but Jacob's pop out in the Port Mac goal circle allowed space for Bailee's drive in the circle. Port Mac were too strong in the end and come away with the win. The final score being 51-25.

Both teams started strong with Glencoe scoring the first 2 goals and Robe soon responding. The first quarter was much the same going goal for goal with the scores level at first quarter break, with Abbie Cocks taking control of the Glencoe goal circle. The second quarter saw Robe's defence create some mely turnovers with Kim Ross taking 3 to get Robe in the lead by 5 going into the half me break. The third quarter saw Robe's mid court players Keryn Moore and Ross u lise their defensive pressure and work over me to put the pressure on before the ball got into the ring. With Glencoe moving Chelsea Owen into the defence li ed Glencoe's defensive line, making Robe's goalies Demi Carter and Ella Mackey work hard. The first quarter set the stage for a ght contest. Goalies from both teams, struggled to hit the ring and had to work hard to keep the ball at their ends. Kalangadoo led by 1 goal at the first break. The second quarter was a ght contest with both teams scoring 12 goals apiece. Kalangadoo went into the second half with a 1 goal lead. Both team's defenders worked over me in trying to nullify the height of their respec ve shooters, ge ng some turn overs for their efforts, and pushing the ball into their a aching ends. The third quarter had accurate shoo ng from Port Mac's Ainsley Mann and Kalangadoo's Jodie Greenwood to keep the game at a ght contest. Kalangadoo made several changes in the last quarter which seemed to unse le Port Mac and changed the momentum of the game. Kalangadoo capitalised on this coming out victors. Briodie Wilson for Port Mac played a consistent game which forced Kalangadoo to use several players to deter her influence through the game and Paige Cawthorne gave plenty of drive through the centre. Kalangadoo's Sam Mulraney and Angie Morgan, interchanging in the centre and wing a ack posi ons, were crea ve and reliable in the transi on of the ball down court.

Charlie Muhovics shot accurately for the Eagles, holding strongly within the circle. Glencoe lead by 12 goals at half me. In the third quarter Glencoe made changes with Watson moving to GA and con nuing her dominance, while Hatherleigh replaced Ella Major with Meg Gray This quarter was even with Hatherleigh's Ellie Cook shoo ng with confidence. PORT MACDONNELL DEMONS
Thanks must go out the Kirrily McPherson and her netball commi ee for all the support this year and congratula ons to the netball club on their success over the year with many of the junior and senior sides making the finals.
Welcome to Grand Final Day 2022, we have finally reached the highlight of the Mid South East Football League year - the Grand Final. Firstly, congratula ons to all today's teams compe ng in all grades in both netball and football. It is a fantas c achievement to make it this far and I wish you all the best.
While on the theme of junior football I would like to thank the junior coaches, for the first me we held Auskick at the club and Ben and Lisa McGregor took on the tough job of wrangling on 30+ kids and what he managed to achieve was a real credit. I am sure the club will reap the rewards in the years to come with Ben’s influence on these juniors.
This season has showed us again why spor ng clubs are so important to local communi es. In good mes and not so good the spor ng club becomes a place of celebra on and comfort for all those involved within the community. It is a place to meet future life partners as well as lifelong friends. No ma er what happens in the future, the football/netball club will remain the place for these bonds will be created.
Thanks to Coleen Pe ngill for guidance to make the canteen and kitchen one of the best in the league. A big thank you to all that have given your me freely to help in the canteen, BBQ, gate raffle and game day jobs including team managers, mekeepers, boundary umpires and club umpires and anyone that contributes to making our club the great place that it is and allowing our players and netballers to take the field/court every week.
In the U11 big thanks to Travis Smith who volunteered to take on the coaching role this year, and along with Saturday morning helpers have stepped up to assist Trav and the kids this year have made the U11 a real success. This grade will only help and grow the football club going forward.
A big thank you to all that gave so much me and effort this year to the oval, as it is well been reported we have undertaken a renova on to the surface, and we have been challenged by the weather at mes, but it is a credit to all who assisted in the project and even though there s ll is more work to do, the project will be a huge benefit for the football club into the future.
A couple of personal thanks, firstly to my family Mel, Sophie, Mollie and Abbey for allowing me the me to undertake this role. A big thanks to Cathie Williams who has guided me throughout the last few years, her experience and knowledge, guidance and support has been fantas c and greatly appreciated, the amount of work Cathie takes on is unbelievable.
Darryl Jones President

Also, a big thanks to James McGregor who looks a er all parts of football opera ons at the start of the year and due to work commitments passed on the baton to brother Ben. Both are respected people within the football world and con nuously give to the club their knowledge and experience to improve the football club.
A big thanks to the Pt MacDonnell Golf Club for lending us not only the mower while ours was being rebuilt but a volunteer to steer the mower. Another sign of community spirit being alive and well.
In the U14 Jason Smith has led this team to the finals for the first me in a few years, which was very exci ng for the club. Jason con nues to share his wealth of experience with the next genera on.
memory for all those involved.
In the U17 Steve Lewis and Blake Lynch undertook their second season in a season where football became only secondary. The support and leadership that was shown within that group will leave a las ng
We are also blessed to have a great band of volunteers and helpers within our club, so thanks to Gordon Lewis for your work with sponsorship and thanks to you and Deb for the countless dona ons for raffles through the year. Also, to Phil and Wendy
Lewis for their con nued work with the ca le scheme especially in this uncertain me, revenue away from football is more important than ever Thanks to Darren and Cathie Williams for their work with 100 Club and the major raffle this again is so important to our club to generate much needed revenue. On fundraising, thanks to Adam Lewis for his work with the auc on this year which was a great success. Thanks to Fraser Lynch for your work on the social commi ee. Thanks also to Mark Smith, Wade Chant and Zack Williams for you work in filling rosters every week. Mick Sullivan and Jacky Taylor for your effort every week in the viewing area, this makes home games such an enjoyable experience for not only us but visi ng teams as well.
Also, a big thank you to all the coaches families that have supported the coaches in all the grades to be able to give up family me so they can give their me to the club.
Junior football is the future of the club and without the junior footballers coming through the club will struggle in the years to come. This year we unfortunately were unable to get a commi ee together for the juniors, the hope is this year we will be able to do so. A big thank you to Sally Ann Morgan, who has guided the junior football this year, you have done a fantas c job for the future of the Pt MacDonnell Football Club.
Like all clubs we are blessed to have a great commi ee, thank you to Shannon Smith, Jason Smith, Wade Chant, Zack Williams, Nathan Munro, Bob Bowd and Cathie Williams. A special thanks to Lisa McGregor who was our secretary/treasurer and organised us and put that li le bit of polish on us. Thanks again to everyone for your contribu ons throughout the year as well the support that everyone has shown me it has been greatly
In one of the tougher jobs of the year thanks must be given to B Grade coach Ryan Donovan for his con nued dedica on to the task even though the results were not coming.

A huge thanks to Tracey Livingston for leadership with the players with not only physical advice but holis c approach to help guide all, thanks to all the other trainers Vicki Livingston, Kacee Driver, who along with Chris also welcomed their first child, Nat Primer who along with Jack are expec ng their first child, (something more than Metsal in that room) and Jenny Medhurst.
If I have missed anyone, and I am sure that I have, please take this as my sincere apology as well as a big thank you for all that you do for the club, it is greatly appreciated.
Good luck to everyone playing in finals, we hope you get to bring home the choccies.
current commi ee is a group of strong minded, individual persons with different opinions which should be encouraged. If everyone thinks the same, then at least half of them become redundant.

Geoff Prest for the bar, Jim Thring for Dads Army, Sco y Robo for the gate, Ac on Fenton for the grounds and game day nuances, Brad Nunan for the booth, Andy and Jake for the kitchen and Bruce Perkins for the changerooms. Apart from stay in touch, we did not have to worry about anything in any of these areas and every single one of these people put in hours and hours of volunteer me purely for the be erment of our club. A special thank you is reserved for Em Vaseka er six years as our Queen of Catering Em is stepping back and is looking forward to enjoying lighter Saturdays. You are the reason we are such a strong part of our communi es and will con nue to be so for many years into the future.
Special thanks to a couple of commi ee members who are reducing their volunteer commitment in execu ve posi ons and passing on their knowledge to new members. Filly Robertson as treasurer, Susan Clements as head of Sponsorship and Stephen Gibbons on recrui ng. These three volunteers have devoted years of their own me to this club, much more than is reasonably expected and all whilst raising families and working incredibly hard. Stepping out of execu ve posi ons definitely does not mean you have seen the last of them though… we won’t let them off quite that easily.
Congratula ons to the Mid-South East Junior and Senior Execu ve members on handling the endless administra on associated with community sport especially in these topsy turvy mes. A specific thank you to Naomi Mitchell who I have pestered beyond belief this year with my many emails. To the league club Presidents and execu ve members and volunteers I feel like I have finally been able to get to know you all a bit be er and look forward to our con nual partnership.
As a club and a community, we excel at events and these are amongst our highlights for the year. Our ANZAC Day weekend and tribute to our veterans which we again shared with the Hatherleigh Football and Netball Club, the Robe RSL, and the Robe to Recovery program. Our 1987 Premiership Reunion and our First Semi Final went off without much trouble and our structure of task teams with team leaders repor ng in to one event manager works incredibly well.
As the on-field season comes to a close for 2022 the off field planning and organisa on never sleeps as prepara ons for 2023 kick into high gear. Congratula ons to our players, team leaders, captains, team managers and coaching staff for a great year of football, your commitment to this club and to each other is the fabric of our family

along with first me Secretary Chloe Bell. This group of people kept everything running smoothly in my absence at the later part of the season. Hijisa Radley in her first year as Netball President has ran a smooth ship. Netball Secretary Emma Gould has put in an incredible amount of work, with Kate Bromley and Kris e Rowe's support being invaluable. Janice and Jules Cytrowski also worked together to gain sponsorship this year and we were able to a ract a few new sponsors, which are always valued and appreciated. A special thank you to all our sponsors - small clubs like ours rely heavily on sponsorship to keep func oning and maintain and upgrade our facili es. I would like to thank all our players, members and supporters for their support during 2022 and look forward to being successful as we move forward. Remember we are all volunteers and without everyone working together we cannot con nue to strive for further success.
to all who represented our club at higher levels and also to those who were rewarded for their hard work during the season at the MSE Junior and Senior Presenta ons. Ellis Cushion - Runner-Up Best & Fairest Senior Colts, Tayla Rowe - Best & Fairest 17 & Under, Troy Ha and Emma Gould in their respec ve teams of the year. All our coaches have spent many hours on and off the field and courts throughout the year and we would like to congratulate all of them - from football Seniors through to Under 11s and A Grade through to Junior 2 in the netball on their efforts throughout the year and appreciate your con nued hard work and determina on to get the best out of our players.

Our grounds have once again been kept in pris ne condi on. Sco Bowering has gone over and above to keep our oval and surrounds one of the best in the league. Thanks also to the nucleus of people who have put their hand up to take care of the general maintenance throughout the year. Thank you to all those who filled our weekly rosters, ably put together by Jules Cytrowski and Kris e this year. Our volunteers who took their turn either on the gate raffle, canteen, Haines Shed and Thursday/Saturday teas are very much appreciated.

Welcome to the 2022 Grand Final day Congratula ons to all players, coaches and umpires who have made it through to this Tdayantanoola
Football Netball Club has had mixed results this year. Jak, our Senior football coach, along with Mike Reilly have relished in their second season with our club. Although not as successful on the track as they would have hoped, there are many posi ve signs heading into the future.
Volunteers in the kitchen on game day, counter teas and Thursday teas have been amazing with everyone stepping up to assist when asked. Pauline was back in the manager’s seat this year in the kitchen and certainly made sure we had plenty of food on the table.
Rowe has also done a great job handling our social media and we wish to thank her for her efforts in effec vely communica ng to our supporters on our behalf. H has been in charge of the bar orders and stocking this year, whilst community members and footballers have helped out on bar duty. A very important area of the club well covered! Doc has quite eagerly managed the bar on home games and events. Thank you.
Best of luck to the new leadership group for 2023 at Tigerland.

thought I'd coach a senior colt side I would of laughed at you, but taking on the role has opened up my eyes and changed the way I look at things. I'd like to thank the Kongorong Football Club for giving me the opportunity to fill the role this year, and your con nued support through the whole season. I want to thank my team manager Daniel Ashby! You're like the glue for the team, keeping us on the park without hassles week-in week-out! Couldn't have done it without you. My assistant coaches Harry Evans and Brad Cordy, your help and guidance has been second to none, even if I doubted myself some mes, you're always there to back me up. Anyone else who has helped out and been involved with the boys I thank you endlessly. Best players for last week included Brodie Von StankeDowie, Nate Von StankeDowie, Will Von Stanke, Shakielle Von Stanke, Harrison Elletson and Declan Wright. As much as I wish this wasn't my last notes that's just how it goes, and I know the boys will be back next year bigger and be er than Thankeveryou,

Senior Colts: Well it wasn't the fairy tale end to the season we hoped for last weekend, going down to a very strong Robe side by 96 points. The boys came ready to play and the energy in the rooms before the game was the best I've seen this year, we appeared ready to hit the ground running right from the start, but faced a very drilled Robe side and we just couldn't impact around the ground or on the scoreboard like we would have hoped. We seemed to have dri ed away from our structures and midfield centre work and we paid the price at the end of the day. A er a spray from myself at half me, which I think caught a lot of people off guard, I think the boys responded quite well, producing some great link up work through the middle of the ground and deep inside 50. So it was pleasing to end on an upward note. I couldn't be prouder of my boys and the way they have conducted and commi ed themselves to this season, right from the very first preseason training. The boys got worked into the ground week-in week-out and kept showing up. It has been my absolute pleasure being able to say I was their coach! If you had asked me 18 months ago if I ever

Bad luck to Madi Bowering, Dawn Smith and our 15 and Under team that went down to a very determined Robe side last Saturday and missing out on the opportunity to play in the grand final this week. Congratula ons to Madi Hagge , Zali Burns and the 17 and Under side taking out the win against Pt Mac. The MBNC wish both the 17 and Under and B Reserve sides all the very best in their grand final games this Saturday. Let's all get out to Kalangadoo and support these teams that have worked hard all year to make it to the biggest game of the year! Wear your green and gold and cheer the girls on. Good luck girls! Thank you to all our volunteers that have helped out with any of du es the club has had through the finals, whether it be scoring, ming or manning the scoreboard. Your help has been greatly appreciated. Well done also to both Leah Puia and Lisa Sco who have put their hands up to be official umpires throughout the finals series Thanks to our sponsors and supporters for your ongoing contribu ons and support to our club. Without you it would be much harder to get teams onto the courts each week. Finally good luck to all netball and football teams that are playing today in the grand final. Play well and play fair

However, me was in our favour and we led 49 44 on the final whistle. Thank you Wayne for scoring. Come support us and the B Res girls in the big Grand Final this week
15 & Under: Unfortunately not the result we were hoping for. I'm proud of how far we came as a team this season and how we've all individually come. We came out firing and led for the first half. Abbey was strong in goals pairing well with Tilly whilst Olivia and Kaylah were strong feeding the ball into them. Macy and Sara read the ball well making many turnovers. Lola and Kodie both applied pressure and defence down the court. We gave it 110% and that's all I can ask as a coach. Thank you Ava for scoring. Good luck to the girls moving up to the 17's next year. Thank you Dawn for being by my side as my team manager this year Thank you to all the parents and volunteers who helped out throughout our girls’ 2022 season.

17 & Under: An excited group of girls were eager to hit the courts and had a point to prove. We came out firing with an 8 goal lead at the end of the first quarter Our goalies shot accurately and midcourters fed well. Our defensive pressure all over the court forced Port Mac to make many turnovers. At 3/4 me, we had a strong 11 goal lead Port Mac weren't ready for their season to end, applying a great amount of pressure. This forced us to make silly turnovers
