football club notes

We travelled to Hatherleigh coming away with one win for the day but also supporng Kate and her team in raising money for MND. Well done to all the parcipants, parcularly our own Ted, Dasher and Steam.

Under 11: We came up against an always talented Hatherleigh group, we competed well on the large ground kicking a few goals. I know they don't score but one of our Mini Murphs said we lost be 1 goal. Thanks to Hatherleigh for lending us a few top up players.

brothers Kaleb and Kallen rounded out the best.

senior colts

junior colts

Junior Colts: Coming up against a well drilled Hatherleigh team we knew we were in for a big day needing everyone to stand up. The first quarter was an arm wrestle with Hamish slong our only goal for the quarter. Aer the first Hatherleigh took control and ran away with a 55 point win, our boys have lots to work on and also need to focus on playing football and not what the umpire calls throughout the day. Best was captain Hamish also slong two, Jack, Annabelle, Hunter and Jasmine.

Senior Colts: Knowing Hatherleigh made us earn the win the first me we played them, this was a danger game as they have pushed some of the good teams. We were aer a fast start that we have lacked, Hatherleigh beat us to the ball but they didn't make the most of their chances. Sam got us going kicking truly. Second quarter was a great quarter of footy with four goals apiece before the third term we took control and Brodie marked everything his way and we ran away with a 42 point win against a very determined Hatherleigh team. Best was Digby in his second game back looking confident, Brodie took everything and kicked 5, Max kicking a couple, Jed using his speed and bash

Reserves: We welcomed back a few returning players but with a few sll missing we were in for a big game. First quarter was a slog with Dylan missing a few shots before slong one and geng the boys up and about. Hatherleigh kicked 3 in the second and we kicked none as they ran all day and we were too slow to man up. Second half the same thing happened as they ran away comfortable winners. A few more at training would recfy this issue. Coach Ben led from the front, first best, Trent second, Senior colt Les being determined all day and captain Jason rounded out the best.

Seniors: Playing the top sides, you must be alert early and that we weren't, they jumped us in the first quarter kicking seven unanswered goals. In my me one goal meant okay switch on, a second goal, arm across must have touch on your opponent. The second term we played more how we wanted to play but sll had plenty of work to do with a few of the boys showing some passion in the second term. The second half was similar to the first with Hatherleigh playing a good brand of football kicking to the advantage of their forwards all day. Best was captain Dylan, Kallan, Zacc, Declan and our work horse Henry

We look forward to seeing you this week. We are celebrang Past Premierships 1949 A Grade, 1954 A Grade, 1959 B Grade, 1969 B Grade, 1989 Senior Colts, 2004 A Grade, 2009 B Grade. This coincides with our first Past Players Day, not all players play in premierships but are highly valued people to our club and the mateships formed throughout should be acknowledged and supported.

ROBE ROOSTERS

Reserves: A two week break in the middle of the year hasn't always been a great thing for the Robe Ressies, but things feel a bit different this year The boys came out firing and ran the game out to the finish. Jimmy Wasson was a brick wall at CHB, Jaryd Dawson eight goals and giving plenty away Jed Regnier provided run off half back and setup his teammates further up the ground. Lachy Hentschke was a real target across the forward line, Sam Huebner was in everything as was the ever reliable Kane Cross. The best player list could go on as everyone is working well together and doing the jobs asked of them. Get to the footy and have a look. Go Roosters.

football club notes

A great night we had last weekend with comedy hypnost JimmyD. Lots of fun & many laughs. Thank you to all those that came along.

Under 11: It was a cold start at Mount Burr for the young Hawks. Their reading of the play is starng to click. They looked for the open space, delivered the ball with accuracy and held their marks. All their efforts at training is starng to show. Awards went to Mac Brant (Intersport), Brodie Stephens (Presidents Award), Iziah Hunt (Club Award), Nathaniel Elletson (Coaches Award), Ryder Telford (Brant Family) and Jack Maidment (Donut King).

Junior Colts: Yay, we won! The kids had their first win for the season against Mt Burr. We had to give Mt Burr some players to make it 12 a side, and I apologise so much for the under 11s that play each week who missed out. The team played excellent footy from start to finish, and even the kids I rotated over to Mount Burr played really well, adding to the scoreboard. I'm so proud of each and every one of you. It has been a bit of a tough year, but you showed me that you wanted to win for your teammates and your club, so congratulaons. Awards went to Hunter Bingham (Lucas Family), Samuel McInnes (Spot On Fishing), Lyla Bayley (Janeway Plumbing), Piper Hood (Paradise Pizza), Connor Gordon (Club Voucher) and Ivy Trigg (Club Voucher).

Senior Colts: Round 10 saw us play the return match against Mount Burr who have been the form side in the first half of the season at Senior Colts level. The game offered us our first opportunity to measure our development as a group from the start of the season and despite only managing to field 16 players, all players acquied themselves well. Some poor posioning and pairing off early saw us give up some easy goals and despite having some early clearance wins we started the game poorly and would have to draw on our character to ensure it didn’t get worse from there. To the credit of our boys they got to work aer quarter me and improved their defensive efforts, scking to the basics and were more expansive with their ball movement giving us more inside 50 entries and 1v1 opportunies. With a number of players commied to senior football later in the day and no bench to give them a spell, we moved the magnets around in the last and unfortunately didn’t quite carry on the momentum we had built over the previous 2 quarters. Regardless, there were some pleasing signs of improvement in our group from our previous encounter and we look forward to doing it all over again this week. Value awards went to Drew Paerson

(Mahew’s Petroleum), Sam Pearce (MT Wheels), Blake Telford (DA’Leni Meats), Aden McCallum (Mick Mullan), Toby McKinnon (Badenochs Deli) and Ryan Lucas (Coaches Award).

B Grade: Great performance by the boys. The Burr had been in good form and they were really up and about all game, so it was really pleasing to get the result. Especially when we trailed at 3/4 me and had a couple of injuries. Great to welcome Jack, Alex and Ma in for their first games for the club. All played a great part. Campbell, Nugget and Harry played their first game of the year and also were really welcome inclusions. We sll need to not make things so hard for ourselves at mes by choosing the wrong opons and switching off at crucial mes but we were extremely proud of the effort and composure in that last quarter to get back in front and control the game. Really special menon to Senior Colt Bryce Von Stanke Dowie on playing his first senior game for the club and doing some excellent things to help us get the win. Mark Paech, Michael Waters, Harry Maddern, Brayden Leicester, Ma Roscow and Adam Prosperi-Porta were our award winners, but everyone contributed across the day. We also need to recognise John Simkin for his efforts all game but especially for his big pack mark late in the game. I can confirm, being right there, he definitely got off the ground. Thanks to award sponsors BCF, Collins Court Butchers, The Commercial Hotel, Pick Avenue Deli and the Club. A Grade: The boys came out with a different state of mind last week, ready to go and defended really well. The young colts held there own with young Jobe Janeway playing his first A Grade game and holding down full forward quite nicely. We were within 10 points at half me. Aer half me the Burr came out with a bit of flare and hit the scoreboard quite well. Tommy Hunter doing all he could down back with Brad Long and Sjaakie, allowed the boys to slow the Burr and start turning the momentum back in our favour. We went into the last quarter with big Ethan Norman connuing to ruck well and covering back for intercept marks. The boys played the game out in good spirit and even though the margin was 4 points more than round 1, with 12 boys watching on from the sidelines, I think they can hold their heads high. Awards went to Ethan Norman (The Commercial Hotel), Elliot Modra (Collins Court Butchers), Brad Long (Club Tea Voucher), Sjaakie Duivenvoorde (Club Tea Voucher), Tom Hunter (BCF) and Luke McIntyre (Pick Ave Deli). This week we take on the Eagles at home. Good luck to all!

HATHERLEIGH EAGLES

football club notes

A Grade: Going up against Glencoe we knew we couldn't underesmate them as it was a tough task to get the win in round 1. Credit to all our boys we started off strong and firing which was the start we wanted. Our first half was good with the likes of Jase Bateman, Gerard McGrath, and Jack Gray playing key roles in our back half. The team effort by the boys all over the field gave our forwards plenty of good looks at goals which allowed us to kick 13 goals by the half me break. Second half was much the same with Sam Waring dominang the ruck which let our midfield win the ball. This gave our forwards plenty of scoring opportunies. Jed Telfer, Brad Mitchell, Tom Hutchesson all kicking 5 each and Sam Telfer kicking 7 goals. Was a good overall day from the team with a 120 point win.

B Grade: Well it’s good to finally get a few blokes back from injury and have a full squad to pick from! We knew during the week Glencoe was going to be tough with them sing in third place, they turned up with great pressure, there wasn't much in the game at quarter me. We got the game going our way playing great team football moving the ball quick threw the middle and started geng on top in the middle of the ground, and running away with a decent win. Harvey Jones played his best game for the year on the ball. Jase Faulkner was great across half back. Ethan Leopold was unreal in the ruck all day. Bre Watson had

another great game in and under. Lyndon Smith made a good return to footy also.

football club notes

As we head into the 2nd round of the draw 3 out of the 4 sides are baling for posions within the top 4 with the Junior Colts constantly improving week in and week out to show the work that has been put in over recent years start to come to fruion.

With the assistance from Pt MacDonnell our Indigenous Round is gathering importance and more meaning each & every year and the Welcome To Country ceremony at the start of A grade is well done and led by Timmy Brennan.

Thanks goes to our junior game day sponsors Autocare Mt Gambier, Rarcoola Structural, The Rocks Shop, MT Wheels & 3MP as game day sponsors and weekly award sponsors in – The Roadhouse, Country Atude, Spot On, Bunnings, Aussie Disposals, Sorrentos, OK Pie Shop, KD's Deli, Intersport, Doughnut King, Wendy's, McDonalds, Compton Street Bakers Delight & Boost Juice Killara Food Court sponsoring our weekly Junior Club Encouragement award.

Under 11: The youngest lot of future superstars once again kicked off the day in perfect style with all showing the growth & development from the super coaching tutelage in Boxy's academy. The growth that happens throughout the season is evident to see and no doubt will see some of the players do some great things in the future. A huge thank you to our game day awards sponsors in Wendys, McDonalds, Doughnut King, Compton Street Bakers Delight & Killara Food Court with the awards going to Frank, Leo, Harvey, Issac, Caleb, Bobbie, Alfie & Big Ollie.

Junior Colts: Coming up against a very well drilled undefeated Bay side Macca had his players set for a big game of footy. For the enre 4 quarters it was a ght tussle all over the ground and we managed to have plenty of the ball and kick the goals when it most counted. Going into the last with a very slight lead the players were asked to give it their all and finish the game strongly. Much to their credit we got the 1st to have a mini break and were able to hold on for a very ght yet excing 4-point win and set up the season nicely. Best players went to Jack Barry – Spot On, Lachy McCann –Bunnings, Frank Mules – OK Pie Shop, Alexander Lee – Bakers Delight, Max Monaghan – Coaches Award & Axel Reeves – Killara Food Court Encouragement award.

Senior Colts: Another tough one for

our lads and credit to boys for keep fronng up each week to don the black & white. Thanks to Alex & Bo who come across from Nangwarry & to the Bay boys who come across to make sure we had a game. Best players went to Nato – The Roadhouse, Jack Barry –Country Atude, Alex Lynch on loan from Nangwarry – KD's Deli, Axel Page – OK Pie Shop, Nathaniel Cooper –Aussie Disposals.

Reserves: With a team that is starng to look more seled each week Aiden was able to get some structures working around the ground. As it always is, each side was looking for a good result with the Bay jumping out of the blocks early but the Maggies’ experience with a mix of youthfulness wore them down over the next 3 qtrs to be in front when in counted at the final siren by a very ght margin of just 5 points. Best players went to Axel Page, Johnny Mules, Mitch Varcoe, Alex Carter, Adam Blom & Angus Widdison.

Images courtesy Steve Walters (Snapperific)

Seniors: Got to celebrate a couple of young guns of the club in 100 game milestones for Tye McManus & Ben Gregory in what was an important game for the Lynsey’s men. Timmy Brennan kicked proceedings off with an inspiring Welcome To Country and from there it was game on. The 1st half was a dour and even affair with both sides having plenty of the ball and seemed it was going to be a relavely high scoring game. With a goal late on the half me siren to the Maggies it meant were down by only 15 points at the main break. The 3rd the Maggies came out full of run and energy with drive in order to take the game away from the Bay boys with some fast ball movement to an open F50 who took every advantage for the qtr registering 8 goals to 2 and head into the final break with a 20 point margin in our favour. With the tails up and the game in control the Maggies lied another gear in the last and put the Bay boys away, dominang around the ground with only allowing the single goal through while piling on 11 for ourselves to record a convincing 87 point final margin. Best players went to Jack Casey, Robbie Hein, Dylan Bromley, Tye McManus, Ethan Maney & Jayk Norman. The Indigenous Round Medal Winner went to Ethan Maney Next up we welcome the Burr in what is always a tough one as we look to turn the tables on the 1st round encounter. Make sure you hang around for presentaons, teas & a few bevvies aer the game.

mount burr mozzies

Junior Colts: The boys had a slow start last week. Aer a rev up at half me they turned things around and performed really well. Mostyn was good all day and used his voice well down back. Reed’s effort and intensity set the standard for the last half. Hunter and Louie chased hard and tackled well. Nate played his first game and did really well. Looking forward to this week.

Senior Colts: The senior colts got themselves off to a great start against Kongorong jumping out to a nice lead at quarter me which they were able to extend on over the next 3 quarters. A nice even contribuon from everyone which allowed the team to play in various posions on the day

B Grade: It has been an interesng season for the B grade with us being more compeve in games but struggling to be able to win the close ones. Again on Saturday, we found ourselves in a posion to win and had a narrow lead at three quarter me. 5 poor minutes of footy later we were 3 goals behind and despite opportunies we struggled to kick the goals we needed to get over the Kongorong side. Best player was Benny Ballantyne who is loving his switch to a

role in the last

they made things hard for us. Our intensity was really lacking from the start which put us on the back foot. Some costly skill errors hurt us early and allowed Kongorong to score off the back of that. Thankfully footy is played in two halves which gave us an opportunity to redeem ourselves. Our game sll wasn’t perfect but we showed glimpses of our footy brand which opened up scoring opportunies for us. Credit to Tay Allen who fought hard from start to finish and really led the way for us.

A Grade: Well that definitely wasn’t the complete performance we were hoping for. Credit to Kongorong as

NANGWARRY SAINTS

Round 9 saw us host Kalangadoo at home, it was a brisk morning but the sun was shining. Congratulaons to our Senior Colts who are playing some great footy at the moment and I encourage you all to get out and watch their talent. Bad luck to the junior colts who were very unlucky to not get the points in a close game.

The last month has been tough for our club but as a commiee we are proud of the resilience that the players and supporters have shown.

Saturday night saw the Nangwarry Gold Cup and congratulaons to all winners in the final. There were some very lovely ladies and handsome men in aendance.

Congratulaons to our footballers who represented our club at Interleague on the June Long Weekend, especially Tayte Virtanen, Rhys Grigg and Jagger Geary who were lucky enough to be a part of the 15's side who won the carnival. All three boys were also rewarded for their performances by being selected in the Glenelg Country squad.

Sponsor shout out this week is to Richards Crash Repairs and Mount Gambier McDonald’s. Both are long term sponsors of the Nangwarry Football and Netball Club.

From start to finish Richards Crash Repairs are amazing and very professional. They come highly recommend for all crash repairs and more.

The McDonald's store in Mount Gambier SA offers a range of delicious juicy burgers, wraps, sides and drinks. Don't forget to try their milkshakes or just enjoy a cup of the finest coffee. Visit the store today and try all of your favourites! Free WiFi available.

Under 11: It was a cold start for the Under 11's as we faced Kalangadoo. Thank you to all the kids from Kalangadoo who played for Nangwarry, it was pleasing to see the sportsmanship and teamwork by all of the kids. They all got plenty of the ball and the skill level of this group was very high.

Junior Colts: Great morning for footy at home, taking on the Pies. Was a cracking contest from start to finish. Footy going end to end and prey evenly matched across the field. Our first quarter wasn't our best being scoreless at the break and conceding a late one to Kdoo. We came out firing in the 2nd quarter and owned the footy in our forward half for 90% of the quarter but only managing 4 behinds. We finally got going in the 2nd half and got ourselves in front, just weren't able to hang on in the end. As always our efforts and workrate is there and we give ourselves all the opportunies to win games, just need to be more efficient with our inside 50s and score majors when those chances arise.

Senior Colts: A really good game of footy with both teams playing in the right spirit. A huge thank you to all of the boys who played part of the game for Kalangadoo to make sure we got a game in with even numbers. A couple of the beer players were Bay McKinnon who's slowly geng back to full fitness and Alex Lynch in the middle. Aer our bye we are back into it with a tough match up v Pt Mac.

B Grade: Came up against a quality opposion and last year’s premiers in Kalangadoo, credit to our boys we had a crack and managed to kick a few goals. There were definitely mes in the game where we had our chances to potenally get in front and put some pressure back on the opposion but we just didn't capitalise and Kalangadoo are a great team, our lads finished the game very strong and outscored them in the last quarter and we had a crack right to the end which was pleasing to see. Hopefully we can pick up a few more wins soon.

A Grade: We took on a fresh Kalangadoo at home in again, ideal condions. The first quarter I thought our boys played a good brand of football but again failed to capitalise our good work on the scoreboard. We made Kalangadoo work hard but they were cleaner going into their forward 50. I was really pleased with our intensity and effort in parcular with the defensive aspect of our game. We went into the first break a respectable 19 points down with plenty to like. We started the second quarter well but weren't able to hit the scoreboard early before Kalangadoo played a good brand of football for the remainder of the quarter and hing the scoreboard regularly gaining a handy league at the main break. At half me our numbers in key areas were prey good and thought the scoreboard wasn't reflecve of the way we played the first half. We asked the boys to li and to their credit they played a really good third quarter. Although we didn't hit the scoreboard as oen as we should have and reward our good work we outscored our opposion for the quarter. Given the circumstances I was very proud of the boys to find that inner strength within and to come into the last break with their heads held high. The last quarter our boys didn't give up but fague and Kalangadoo’s experience got the beer of us. It's been a big few weeks for all of us and we are red. The bye couldn’t have come at a beer me. We will refresh and reset. Goal kickers were Joel Virtanen 2 and Elwood Geary 1. Well deserved best players: Club Tea AwardHarry Hicks, Prince of Wales AwardGeorge McWaters, Pines Hotel AwardJoel Virtanen, Spud Train Award - Marcus Thomson, Fasta Pasta Award - Archer Virtanen, Limestone Coast Pantry AwardLennox Lewis.

Next game - Port MacDonnell at home, see all you Sainters there.

PORT MACDONNELL DEMONS

football club notes

A Grade: Pt MacDonnell 13.11 lost Kalangadoo 27.14. We were welcomed to country, for this our indigenous round, by Bungandidj man Tim Brennan, with an opening speech celebrang their culture, reconciliaon, and a hope of future collaboraon with other clubs to include this in future compeons. Their hospitality may have been warm and welcoming, but the cold and clear condions at Kalangadoo gave us no excuse for our loss. We were not compeve in the last half and that is something we will have to own and work on if we are to connue to finals. Up to half me the game was very evenly played with neither side gaining a clear lead. On ballers had their work cut out for them through the midfield traffic and the crucial turnovers in the back line gave our game the momentum we needed at the half me break. However, in the third, we stalled and Kalangadoo got their heads up. To their credit, they kept up a punishing pace which ulmately got the beer of us. BOG went to Tim Sullivan followed by Patrick Robinson, Chrisan Howle, Ned Wilke, Ethan Gladman and Luke Richards for their standout efforts from the forward line, through the centre and the back line defence. Goal kickers were Alex Ridding 4, Chrisan Howle 4, Colby Munro 2, with 1 each to Josh Woodall, Tim Sullivan and Patrick Robinson who kicked his first A grade goal. Congratulaons to Nathan Brotherton for playing his 50th game for the club and welcome back to Jake Schleter aer that horrific injury at Glencoe. Now we play Nangwarry and as always, they are not to be underesmated… so train hard to play hard! Go Demons!

B Grade: Pt MacDonnell 11.3 lost Kalangadoo 11.8. If you had to choose between winning a game or a downpour of rain, I'm prey sure most would have opted for the rain! For the first me in my memory of TK it was not lake-worthy-wet or bogyour-car muddy at Kalangadoo, especially at this me of the year! Our game ended with a nail-bing finish, given the scoreline (they got us in the last 22 seconds with a kick out of our forward line) and was probably the best game of footy we have played all season with 4 quarters of consistent effort (who says training doesn't pay off). All the usual suspects were involved …Simon Merre (BOG) led the charge out of the midfield into the forward line alongside Aaron Harding (2nd) and Baz O'Dine (5th). Brodie Dixon (3rd) took on the flanks giving us the pace we needed with able assistance from Tom Sullivan (6th) and Alex Lamb (4th) who helped overturn the ball in the back line at crucial moments of each quarter. Grady Hutchesson rucked solidly for most of the game and tall mber Bradley Neale made his presence felt all round the ground. Our accuracy was much beer this week with Baz O'Dine a solid target up front, kicking a handy bag of 5 goals while Simon Merre managed 3. Adam Richards also cleared 2 and Bradley Neale sloed one of his own. Next is Nangwarry under the guidance of Kyle McLean while Benny Mac joins many others who have gone north seeking sunshine and warmer weather! So while we're here enjoying the “freeze the nuts off a brass monkey” weather let's give this a red hot crack and go into the break with a win. Go Demons!

NETball club notes

A big congratulaons to Caitlin Hentschke and Sam Brierley who both play their 100th Club Game today and Giaan Ferguson who plays her 50th Club Game. We hope you have a successful day!

Junior 2: Wow! What a game we had. I am so proud of you all. We had all 8 players hit the court which was a nice change. Everyone tried really hard in each posion they played and listened in the breaks. We showed lots and lots of improvement throughout the game and it was amazing to score a goal in the last quarter. Great job to Savannah for scoring it. Well done to everyone for trying so hard and thinking about making space on the court by running away and making another lead to try and get the ball. Best player went to Ruby for taking so many amazing intercepts in defence and second best to Adele for running hard all game and making lots of fantasc leads. Great job everyone!

Junior 1: Another game with a lot of tall opponents but everyone tried really hard. Your front cuts and passing is improving which is good to see. Defence worked hard all game and our defending and rebounds improved each quarter. Lots of amazing passages leading into aack with perfect drives into the circle which resulted in lots of goals. Encouragement went to Charloe for some great drives into aack and great defence all over the court. Best went to Paige, you kept listening and adjusng your play when asked and your rebounding was near perfect by the end of the game. Remember to keep chasing loose balls and have confidence in yourself, you are all amazing players! Great game everyone.

13 & Under: Glencoe 35 lost to Hatherleigh 55. A pressure packed game for us with a lot of defensive pressure over the court by Hatherleigh. To our credit aer a slow start we fought back hard in the first quarter to be only two down at quarter me. Hallie and Emma finished strongly in goals and it was great to see some of the things we talked about at training used on the court. Abbie and Jaylee tried hard all day in defence and created some good turnovers whilst our mid court who rotated through the day ran hard to create opons. Best went to Hallie (Dycer Construcon) and Abbie (Paradise Pizza). Encouragement went to Mia who worked relessly at WD (Cafe 72).

15 & Under: Glencoe 51 defeated Hatherleigh 40. Another great team game with contribuon by everyone. We just need to work on ming our leads at training. Best player went to Chloe who shot well and had great confidence. Second went to Violet for great driving and moving in the circle. Encouragement went to Ella who fed well and chased hard. Gracie and Ruby had good distance in defence, Bella created turnovers, Kloe drove hard down the court and Layla had great hands over pressure. Well done everyone.

17 & Under: Glencoe 50 lost to Hatherleigh 71. Another tough game. It is good to see some of the things we work on at trainings being used on game day Keep running for the full four quarters and the wins will come. First best – Alyssa Medhurst, second best – Amelie Cary and encouragement – Jena Jagger

B Reserve: Well done girls, despite the loss, it was a great team game. We kept within a small margin of the second sing Hatherleigh unl we became a bit lost in the third quarter. In the final quarter, we came back to be defeated by

12. A huge improvement since the beginning of the year. Everyone did their part and there were some examples of seamless play. There were a few passes that went awry when we became red however we were able to collect some intercepts and loose balls and capitalise on them. Thank you to Shae and Alyssa who help us out every week. They were able to have some court me and make their mark on the game. Best players were Caitlyn for her efforts in GD and Jorja B for a star turn in WD. These players do not usually fill these posions but were able to show their versality Well done girls!

B Grade: Glencoe 40 lost to Hatherleigh 66. It was a solid first half for a team that again looked very different due to injuries and illness. We started strong which is something that we've had to work on in other weeks so that was pleasing. We went goal for goal for the first quarter and stuck with them unl the main break. Unfortunately, we ran out of legs to connue this in the second half and cost ourselves a lot with silly errors. New combinaons in the aacking end will require some fine tuning at training but we certainly have the talent to look really dangerous down there and there were some great passages. Defence were tremendous all day under lots of physical pressure and accuracy from Hatherleigh's goalies. Well done to Sally, Kayla and Giaan for such solid games - you were all brilliant!

A Reserve: Great team game! And great to see everyone fit and able to play Everyone came out firing giving us a 6 goal lead at quarter me. The aack line seled quickly and moved the ball nicely While the defence adapted well to more new combinaons. The full court defence was great and created lots of opportunies. Chloe had a great game, geng lots of turnovers and also fed the goalies with precision, earning her best player. Alannah came away with second best as she seled well in defence, rebounded well and provided strong opons down the court. Another tough game this week against Robe, but if we sck together and connue to build our connecons on court we can come away with another win!

A Grade: Glencoe 69 defeated Hatherleigh 33. We finally got that good start that I've been harping on about and set ourselves up for a dominant four quarter performance. It was a solid team effort and everyone should be proud of their role in geng the win. A big welcome back to Caitlin! Having you back on court really made a difference to the team vibe. You were thrown straight back into it (without barely even a warm up) and blocked up lots of space, rebounded strongly and lied the communicaon in the defence circle. Alice had another great game, geng heaps of touches and always being the first to all of the loose balls. Donna ran hard through the middle and got her fair share of intercepts along with some great feeding. Ash had to do a heap of work to somemes beat three opponents but never backed down and again was a calm head feeding into the circle. Jenna and Chel really complimented each other this game working the post and the front nicely Shoong accuracy was also fantasc and good rebounding when we did miss. Again, a great team game and one we can now ck off for the year. Best players went to Jenna (O'Brien Electrical) and Caitlin. Let's keep this good form rolling into this week's game.

NETball club notes robe

A Grade: Robe 40 def by Tant 53. Aer a break and a close loss to Tantanoola last me, Robe's A Grade team was determined to compete hard. Despite several lineup changes, the first quarter focused on paent play and keeping calm throughout the court. The first half was evenly matched, with both teams showing high intensity from the start. Robe's defence - Alex Neale, Georgia Perkins, and Alannah Jennings - applied strong pressure, causing crucial errors that Tori and Ashlee Hunt capitalised on effecvely In the third quarter, Tori injured her knee and was replaced by Emilie Gould, who showed great movement and composure. However, as the game wore on, Robe red out, allowing Tantanoola to pull ahead with a significant 13-goal lead. Calcua went to Lucy Perkins (Pure Luxe) & coaches award to Ashlee Hunt (Woodsoak Wines).

A Reserve: Robe 41 def Tant 37. Aer a close game last me, Robe knew it would be a tough match! Having some players shuffle around into new posions, the girls seled quickly and brought intensity to the game. The score was close the enre game, but the roosters fought hard in the final two quarters to get ahead and secure the win! Our defenders Hannah (Calcua – Pure Luxe) and Jess (coaches award – Woodsoak Wines) got best on for their hard work in and around the circle. Our shooters Libby and Camille played with composure and shot with accuracy Really proud of the whole team and their work rate for the enre game. Looking forward to the 2nd half of the season!

B Grade: Robe 34 def by Tant 51. Just out of reach. A massive improvement from the first me we played Tant. We made them play at our level and adjusted to their players rather than trying to beat them at their game. Once again just those third quarter blues. Defence had a crack and adjusted to last week's training. Tamara (incenve – Woodsoak Wines) ran consistently all game and made us accountable for the ball. Sienna (Calcua – Pure Luxe) really stepped up and was a force to be reckoned with - in the last 10 seconds I yelled for her to get in the ring and the look on her face to then sprint as hard as she could into the ring to score that last goal was priceless! Onto Glencoe we know we can do this game girls so let's go out hard for 4 quarters!

B Reserve: Robe 23 def by Tant 31. What a massive difference between this game and round 1 against Tantanoola. Aer losing Sarah early in the first quarter we knew we had our work cut out for us. Losing Cass to injury as well in the second quarter meant no back ups from the bench. Down by just 1 point at 3 quarter break meant it was anyone's game. I imagine this is not how Tantanoola thought the game was going to go and boy am I proud of the way our girls showed up. Going down in the last ten minutes was a lile disappoinng but everyone walked off that court with nothing le, they definitely gave it their all. This week will be another tough game and we have plenty to work on in training to hopefully get us that win we're all working towards. Calcua to Mahalia (Pure Luxe) for yet another week of hard work and pure determinaon in GD Coaches to Livvy (Woodsoak Wines) who has come so far between the first me we came up against Tant and for backing me up when I had to step in to GS last minute.

17 & Under: Robe 48 def Tant 37. What a game. The girls started off slowly with a bit of crowding in the mid court but definitely found their feet in the second quarter and played a strong team game for the enre game. Both the defence and aacking ends worked well.

Communicaon was key to get the win, all players on the court did this and it certainly showed. When things got a lile scrappy the girls didn't drop and connued to talk to each other, keeping that momentum. Kiana played strong in GS against a very tall GK earning her best player (Steve's Place) and at the other end the intercept/rebound superstar Olivia earned herself my coaches award (Salubrious Hour). Thank you for making my job as fill in coach such a breeze girls. Well done and good luck for the rest of the season.

15 & Under: Robe 31 def by Tant 35. Not the outcome we wanted for the game, but hopefully we can come up from here and connue to play our own game going forward. Defence was ght all four quarters unfortunately accurate shoong meant the girls didn't have rebounds to get up for, but they managed to get some great intercepts, with both Leni and Lindsey taking out best player (Steve's Place) and coaches award (Salubrious Hour) for the day. Mid court really had to push and make those second, third even fourth efforts to get the ball down to our goalies. Tess, Millie and Milla all played strong against some very tough and tall defenders, really fighng ll the last whistle. Lots to work on Thursday for another tough game this week.

13 & Under: Robe 24 def by Tant 28. This game shows just how far these young ladies have come this year. In round one we lost to Tant by 34 goals, this me we went down by just 4! Freya and Livia worked together moving the ball around in the ring seamlessly, Lacey and Zoe backing up and always being an opon mid court. Kirby, Lexi and Sas fought hard in defence to keep Tant from scoring. The girls came together and played as a team! It was brilliant to watch! Once again a big thank you to Edie for sing our bench and taking the court when injuries occurred. Best player went to Freya (Union Café), you were on fire and barely missed a goal, and Saskia got the coaches award (Denton's Sportspower), coming out when not feeling great and pung in 100% Well done girls.

Junior 1: Such an improvement each week from these lile ladies. So proud of you all for using your heads and thinking about what you are doing before you pass, thinking about space and movement! Everything we do at training is taken into the game! Issy and Scarle played well in goals, both using their opons on the ring geng closer to the ring. Amelia and Kendall worked relessly in aack using their quick feet and strong driving to get mulple passes as bringing the ball down court. Harper, Edie and Mali all combined well in defence, scking to their own players and creang turnovers. Incenve went to Edie (Robe Netball Club) for her persistence and courage. Thanks to Jess for sing our bench and taking a minute on court!

Junior 2: Aer having the last three weeks off, we knew this game would start off slow, but unfortunately things didn't click for the team. Our girls found it difficult to keep up with Tant’s aackers who moved the ball quickly down the court. A few of our players tried to implement some of the leading drills we have been working on in training which was great to see. However, when we did manage to get the ball, our passing really let us down consistently throughout the game. Bey received our incenve (Robe Netball Club) and was an absolute standout in defence. She read the ball well and made a huge amount of intercepts, well done Bey! Plenty to work on at training and hopefully the girls can find their groove again this week.

NETball club notes kongorong

Thank you to our Game Day Sponsors this round: Tom Glynn Plumbing & Gas, OK Pie Shop and Commercial Hotel.

Junior 2: It was a tough day, up against a very tall and talented Mt Burr. What we can say is we have developed so much since last round. I love watching how far each person has come this year Good luck for the next 5 weeks and enjoy having someone else yelling at you (haha). Can't wait to see you all again when Maya and I return. Team effort (no best players).

Junior 1: Great job girls, the Burr came back stronger than the first game and caught us of guard. We adjusted our play and fought for the ball the whole game, the defence were strong geng the rebounds and passing it down through the mid court to the shooters. Our best players were Allara Galloway awarded the (Maccas) for her great defensive plays and Sienna Buntsma awarded the club voucher for her killer goals she popped in.

13 & Under: Bad luck girls. I am proud of everyone for running out four quarters but we need to make sure we are playing with the intensity and aack I know you are capable of if we want to see success in our games. There were patches of play that really let us down as a team but there were also patches that showed our best netball is of a very high standard. Best on went to Adele (Maccas) for her relentless defensive pressure and Isabelle (Club Award) for her great aack on the ball and work through second phase. Let's concentrate at training this week and come out with our heads switched on Saturday!

15 & Under: Well done girls. Was a bit touch and go at mes. Took us a while to sele in and work together. We knew it was going to be a body on body game but we held our heads high and kept going. Our feeding and moving in the circle was amazing geng turnovers and converng our goals. Best players went to Paige Telford (Club award), Rahni Janeway (Lima & Co) and Lily Foster (Arena).

17 & Under: Well done girls, a great training through the week lead to a change of flow on the court. Our defence was amazing, and the pressure down the court was the highlight for the game. To Soph, rest up that ankle and we will have you back in full force soon. Lets knuckle down some full team trainings and focus on our aack line. Best players go to

Harmoni Kent (Arena) for her amazing listening adjusng in GK, Ruby Carrigan (Vanity) for her shoong and moving in the circle. And the birthday captain Thalia Von Stanke for her never giving up effort! (Vanity).

B Reserve: It wasn't our day in many ways. We didn't get the result we wanted. In saying that our defence was amazing. They connued to keep their heads up and not give up the whole game despite having to adjust in many ways. Our shooters worked really hard down their end but some balls just didn't want to go in the hoop. We need to focus on our ball coming down the court but all in all we done what we could and looking forward to our game this week. Best players Renae Stevens (GK) and Amie Brant (GD) on their incredible effort shown.

B Grade: Another great effort girls. We came so close there and held on for a bit, unl our fitness got us and then the sloppy passes came out. A lot of posives in this game though, everyone fought hard, pushed their limits, created great play and space down the court. Slowly starng to see things click and come together the last two rounds, let's keep up the good work. Best players Maddie Bowd (Commercial) and Chloe Weaver (Elite Supps).

A Reserve: Great game girls! We pushed hard, it was an undetermined game up unl the last quarter. They got the jump on us. I could not be more impressed to see how determined our team was. Everybody kept their heads up and kept pushing hard all game. Best players went to Samantha Ham receiving Lima and Co voucher. Jordy Heraper was our other best player receiving an Elite Sups voucher. Thank you to our sponsors.

A Grade: Good effort girls. Patches of play showed that we are capable of successful, high quality netball but our inconsistency let us down. We are our own worst enemy in leng a game slip out of our hands and I want us to work on keeping our heads up and switching gears to be able to run out a game the way I know we can. I cannot fault our defensive pressure across the court led by Emily (Club Award) and Rach (Commercial Hotel) who both received best on. If we can concentrate of keeping possession and capitalising on turnover ball we will see more success in our score lines over the second half of the season. Let's train well and come out to have a crack this weekend!

NETball club notes hatherleigh

Junior 2: A great team game. We showed paence with our passing, making sure to choose the right opon. We worked hard chasing aer all the loose balls & quickly geng our hands up aer finding our 3 feet. We showed great control with our footwork, pivong strongly. It was posive to see lots of players using change of direcon, and also running onto the ball to receive. Let's keep working on finding the space and clearing if we aren't used. Awards: Beggs bean & bar - Pippa Holland, HLC - Luca Bateman, Dentons - Hayley Bowman.

Junior 1: A great game from the girls on Saturday! Everyone came out determined for every ball and looking to bring to their game all that they learn at training. Our goalies started to use there voice and tell their teammates where they want the ball. Mid court talked to each other all day and used our voices to make space down the court. Defence made the opposion work for everything and had some strong rebounds throughout. It’s good to see everything really starng to come together and developing a nice flow down the court.

13 & Under: Hatherleigh defeated Glencoe 5535. A close start saw our girls working hard and using all their knowledge of the game against some strong defenders. To their credit they combined well as a team, connually moving forward when things didn't go our way and without dropping their heads or geng raled. The momentum started building in the second quarter which saw us with a more comfortable lead by half me. Some great contests saw strength in our girls and a real want for the ball. The game allowed us to see what we need to work on and what can be improved. Livvi worked hard in GA and started to expand her "toolkit" earning her the HLC award and Hazel showed great resilience throughout the game earning her the Dentons award. Thanks to all our helpers that make game day flow smoothly for us. Awards: Hazel Hamilton – Dentons Sportspower, Livvi Faulkner – Hatherleigh Ladies Commiee.

15 & Under: Hatherleigh defeated by Glencoe 40-51. A slow start last week, we gave Glencoe the chance to get ahead by making mistakes and choosing the wrong opons. It was a physical game but our game play improved as we started to adjust and work our way to front posion. Our second half was much beer, great to see girls contesng balls in the air and chasing up loose balls. Our aack line began to sele and became more paent passing into the ring. Awards went to Laura who worked hard all game and to Livvi and Olivia for their determinaon and consistency. Awards: Laura Uola - Duckys, Olivia Bellinger - Hatherleigh Ladies, Livvi Faulkner - Hatherleigh Ladies.

17 & Under: Hatherleigh 71 defeated Glencoe 50. A great game from the girls last Saturday! Everyone came out determined for every ball and looking to bring to their game all that they learn at training. Our goalies started to use their voice and tell their teammates where they want the ball. Mid court talked to each other all day and used our voices to make space down the court. Defence made the opposion work for everything and had some strong rebounds throughout. It’s good to see everything really starng to come together and developing a nice flow down the court. Awards: Hannah BellingerSportspower, Bella Gysbers - Ladies Commiee.

B Reserve: Hatherleigh defeated Glencoe 52-44. A special game as we celebrated our wonderful co-coach Amy Haines on an amazing 150 games. We also welcomed back Grace and Ellen, and we certainly felt their presence on the court. It was a ght tussle in the first. Amy and Keeley provided lots of drive, and Demi’s long arms at WD got some great early intercepts. An injury to our umpire Linda appeared to rale us and allowed Glencoe back in the game and there was only two in it at quarter me. Nic and Ellen provided strong defensive pressure and posion under the ring for the rebound and got their hands to plenty to give Melita and Grace extra opportunies to convert and extend the lead going into the main break. A couple of rushed errors when we had worked hard to get the turnover, resulted in some missed opportunies to score. The message from the coaches at the main break was to protect the turnovers and be sure of the passes. A couple of changes to start the third, with Fi going into GD and Maddie in at WD. The team adjusted well and further extended the lead. Ellen and Fi combined strongly and made life difficult for Glencoe. The last quarter saw Nic go into C and Demi move into GK. It was great to see the defensive pressure down the court whilst Demi stood tall at the last line of defence, geng plenty of

intercepts. Nic provided voice and drive, posioning well on the circle to feed into Melita and Grace who moved well and used the circles edge to their advantage. Maddie worked hard to stop her players run and Amy played her heart out. Thanks to Zoe for scorer, Nic for primary carer and Kellie for ming. Huge thanks to Chelsea and Tegan for being back up umpires. Wishing Linda a speedy recovery and Amy safe travels on her holiday! Awards - Nic (Somerset), Demi (Hath Sport & Rec) and Amy (Kez’s candle).

B Grade: Hatherleigh defeated Glencoe 66-40. A very special occasion as we marked the magnificent milestone of 150 games for our wonderful, inspiraonal co-coach Kaz. The weather got the memo that the big freeze was on at Hatherleigh - with condions that made spectators think it would surely start snowing! An injury struck team had us wondering who we would have able to take the court, and certainly caused the coaches a bit of early morning stress! Thankfully it was a testament to the amazing club that Hatherleigh is that we had players from B Res as well as an under 17 players willing to take the bench for us in freezing condions! It was a fast-paced start to the game - going goal for goal. Georgia, Marni and Sarah were working hard in defence, whilst Eliza, Liv and Maddie tried valiantly to take advantage of every opportunity. Kaz was running hard and providing drive but we appeared to be making things difficult for ourselves. A change at quarter me had an immediate impact. We welcomed Chloe Bellinger at WA for her senior debut and Maddie moved into GD - resng Marns who had already played A Res! Chloe and Kaz combined well with strong posioning and paence to feed into Eliza and Liv who shot with accuracy. An injury scare for Liv brought Melita on the court - a special moment to be able to play with her aunty in her milestone game. It was just like old mes for Melita and Eliza working together in the goal circle and with the efforts of their teammates around them, they got more of the ball and further extended the lead going into the last. Liv returned to the court, and finished strong with Eliza for a high scoring last quarter. Sarah connued to play a blinder at WD, thwarng the efforts and influence of her opposing player Maddie and Georgia wreaked havoc at the last line of defence - pulling the ball from seemingly no where and geng every rebound. Chloe stunned everyone with her natural abilies, slong in to the team with ease and combining with Kaz to bring the ball into the aack with balance, precision and speed. It was truly a team effort, and we wish we could have given more awards, with everyone who took the court giving their all to ensure a wonderful win. We certainly are a special team. Sadly it was the last game for Marni with us, as she is playing A Res for the remainder of the season. We have loved having Marns on the team and thank her for her efforts and wish her all the best. Huge thanks as always to Raels for scoring and for the delicious aernoon tea, Nat for primary carer (safe travels - we will miss you!), Grace for ming and photography! Extra thanks to Ellen, Melita and Chloe - true club players. Awards - Maddie (Somerset), Eliza (Sassi), Kaz (wine) and Chloe (Hath Sport & Rec).

A Reserve: Hatherleigh defeated by Glencoe 4155. Our team demonstrated exceponal teamwork despite having a few changes to our game. We missed Maddie Redman, who was out due to illness, and we had to navigate through some injuries and sickness during the game. While we didn’t get the win this me, I am proud of how the team adapted to change and being out of posion. We had some great flow down the court once we got seled but kudos to the girls for their hard work to get there. We are taking this loss as a learning opportunity and are determined to return stronger and more prepared for our next game. I want to give special recognion to Marnie Jolly, who stepped up from B Grade to fill the GK posion, she did a great job with Millie Smith. By the end of the game, we saw a huge improvement as they started to gel together. Junior 2: Mini magpies had a good challenge and showed they are ready for it! I am loving the footwork and when we are thinking about geng in front, our game is opening up. Our 3 feet has improved and we are geng beer and beer at our defensive skills. Evie was on fire and got the first best (Fasta Pasta award), with Harper who is connuing to improve in leaps and bounds geng second best with the Fairy Floss award.

Junior 1: Junior magpies came out feeling a bit cold but ready to heat it up with their skills. All girls worked hard in ensuring they were playing their posions. Alyssa worked hard running in centre providing excellent passages of play. Harper, Piper and Ariella work hard in the wing areas to provide a safe game but fight for the ball in the centre third. Zali and Charlie worked hard geng in front of their players and to provide goals for the team. Olivia, Willow and Mackenna worked hard in the defence end providing turnover for the team. All girls played well and should be proud of their efforts. Best players - Alyssa (Penola Recyclables) and Mackenna (Fasta Pasta).

13 & Under: A fantasc start to the game since we had 3 players out. Tekani directly helped Zali and Mackenna our J1 to remember where they needed to be for set up and she supported all the team with great sportsmanship and was nice and strong in GD received OK Pie Shop. Malda Peacock received Penola Recycling award for great shoong and use of angles around the circle. And to have Zara back from injury and to be a great back up all over the court she ran in C received Mars Bar Coaches Award. It’s was great to see set ups finally happening and using their training to play smart netball then going to fast and not controlling or thinking where to place the ball for our advantage all should be proud. Good work girls. A big thanks goes to the girls in J1 for filling in, you both have definitely stepped up and show us what you have been learning and pung together on court at pracce to show us with strong defence presence and foot work we cannot wait for you to join us next season. Let’s keep up the good work.

15 & Under: It wasn’t our best performance against Port Mac with lots of unforced errors and turnovers that meant we were playing catch up. Molly (Intersport) worked overme and got lots of touches and Kiersten (OK Pie Shop) took some tough balls in the goal circle and finished strongly. Zoe provided good talk and encouragement and Emmity gave her best in all posions. Plenty to work on in the coming weeks and lots of areas for improvement. Posive energy and a high work rate is required from all players as we

head in to the second half of the season.

17 & Under: Way to start the second half of this season with our best game of the year so far. So many pleasing things, but our work ethic, team effort and the backing up of each other for the whole game made me really proud. Sll plenty to work on so let’s keep pushing hard and get beer and beer. Best players: Everyone (Boost Juice thanks to Josie), Georgia G (Aloha), Maya Anderson (OK Pie Shop).

B Reserve: A strong start against our ladder leaders. There was a lot of great passages of play with our defence making their aack line work hard to feed in to their goalies and pung lots of pressure over ever shot. Our aack line started using beer angles and worked the ball in with a lot more paence than what we have been seeing. Unfortunately couldn’t keep it up for the full four quarters but did manage to come back from 11 down to 5 before leng it slip again. Proving we are able to rally together and bring it back and hopefully work hard at trainings to be able to run out a full four quarters. Best players: Nic - The Ary, Gem - Kirralie Jade.

B Grade: A strong start to the game really set us up for the win. We were able to take a 9 goal lead following the first quarter which was due to our work ethic all over the court. Our defensive pressure allowed us to create turnovers which was finished well down the goal end. You could see in the second half that we started to re and Port Mac stepped it up. We have a few big games coming up so let’s train hard and we will be rewarded. A special thank you to our juniors Lily and Ellie for stepping up in the last quarter. You both did an amazing job. Best players: Birdie Blue - Sam Mulraney, Fasta Pasta - Rhi May

A Reserve: It was good to get back on to the court and get a win aer a few weeks off. Aack worked beer with plenty of strong drives and paent feeding to our goalies. Defence came up against some accurate goalies and provided us with plenty of opportunies. A good start to the second half of the season. Let’s build on this over the next few weeks. Ary - Anthea, Globe - Melissa.

A Grade: A ght contest for us last week, it was great to see us stay composed throughout the game even in those tough moments. Our defensive pressure was consistent all game and we found another level in the second half, which made a big difference in our ability to control more of the game. Our transion in aack was good and in the second half in parcular our angles and the one extra pass allowed us to keep more control and composure in the circle. Pharmacy - Lara Munro, Melzars - Jayde Peacock.

A really great team game with everyone on court contribung. Awards went to Zali Burns & Sarah Sigston. Thanks to Ignion Fitness, Millicent Chemist & Giware & Dentons for awards.

B Grade: Aer coming off a loss to Glencoe we needed to come out strong and fight for the win. The first half was ght and goal for goal with Mt Burr leading by 1 at half me. Going in to the third some great defensive pressure from Caity and Nic in the circle, making turnovers and we were able to capitalise on these turnovers. Mid court in Zoe, Bri and Char worked relessly to feed the goalers. Sienna and Maddi worked well in the circle ending the third quarter with an 11 goal lead. We were able to hold this lead. A few changes made for both sides saw Kongorong take control of the game, taking the lead by 1 at half me. Both teams fought hard in the third quarter, taking advantage of each other's errors. Junior 2: A great game played by both teams. Another sunny day at home against Kalangadoo. All the girls played really well together and are working hard at moving into space. We are now half way through the season and very impressed with the girl's improvement and can't wait to see what the second half of the seasons brings for them. Best players - 1st: Kenzie Clayfield, 2nd: Ariella Thomson, 3rd: Kelsei Taleporos.

Junior 1: Amazing game girls! At training we had an idea of spling up into aack and defence and working one on one. You girls took it all in and played an outstanding game. Our aack was flowing down the court making it easier to get in ball into the ring and scoring goals. Our shooters have learnt to move around and make space, that exactly what they did! Down our defence end, we had a touch to nearly every pass that was made. You girls learnt about turning and blocking and once again by taking that in and geng the rebounds every me. Just a few lile things we sll need to work on with, but you girls are coming a long way and will be outstanding players one day If we could have given everyone best player you all would have deserved it! Best players were Scarle Heron & Leah Norman.

13 & Under: Everyone started off so well you all played awesome first half with some great defence, passing and leads. Last half let us down, we started to just pass and not wait for the lead or give front opon first. Some minor errors like stepping let us down as well. Remember to really grab the ball in and only pass when you are ready not just throw to the voice. We did though really put in a great effort and had some great passages of play. Keep it up for next game over 4 quarters. BP award went to Darcy for some great shoong and canteen to Izzy for nice leading and passing.

15 & Under: Another beauful day at home. Both teams starng strong from the first whistle. Some great contests all over the court. Well done Kalangadoo on a great win.

17 & Under: Last game saw us take on Kalangadoo. We started strong and were looking good but unfortunately our fundamentals let us down again. I'm proud of the team and how resilient they are. Our defence end was once again worked really well together, with our aack end pulled out some incredible plays. Congratulaons to Scarle and Hailie for geng our best players.

Kalangadoo on a great win. The score does not reflect the game that was played with both teams working hard on the court. It's great to see the Nangwarry girls never drop their heads. We look forward to facing off again next me.

B Grade: Great effort girls. We were a bit short on players and needed to move posions throughout the game. However, everyone gave it their best and proud of your efforts. Chloe had a great game giving centre a go and doing a great job. When went back to defence Chloe drove well and connued her good form. Chloe was given Jen's award. Amy was giving Tia's Cafe award. Amy got her hands to many balls and contested for rebounds. All defenders especially Carla and Stevie worked hard and didn't give up although ring game for them. Zoe, Ellie and Nat moved well and when managed to get in front and we passed around it looks good. Thank you, Keira, for sing bench and glad you got to play a quarter Big thank you to volunteers for scoring, ming and umpiring. Hopefully we all enjoy the week off and next round improve our score line each week.

A Reserve: Playing Kalangadoo was always going to be tough; we took the court determined to have fun and play as one. Simone and Lyndall had the hard task in defence and gave it their all for the first half. Emily had a great half at WD. At half me I decided to let the girls loose and remember why we play netball and that was to have fun, laugh and enjoy each other's company and that is exactly what happened in the second half Well done to Alisha and Lyndall who lived out their goalie dreams. Special shout out to Shandeen for her amazing throw in and goal, she has been praccing that and was rewarded on Saturday to her team's delight. Emily found some confidence and lied showing us her beauful smile. I am proud of you all for your resilience, and ability to keep going.

A Grade: We knew this game was always going to be a tough game to score any goals with Kalangadoo having killer defence the whole way down the court. But what we lacked in geng the goals we definitely made up for in defence and perseverance! You made Kalangadoo work and make errors; you kept your heads up the whole game and the posivity shone through the whole me. You should be awfully proud of yourselves for your efforts because Shelby and I certainly are! Best players Maddi Stephens and Kayla Gray B Reserve: Well done to

Junior 2: In a display of skill and teamwork, the Junior 2's showcased their growth and dedicaon to the team. From the first whistle, the girls set a high tempo, with sharp passes and strategic plays. The defence were fantasc, with the girls intercepng passes and turning over centre passes, each player demonstrated adaptability and resilience, reflecng the skills implemented at training. Encouragement awards went to Zoe (Wendy's) who put a lot of defensive pressure on the opposion and Lucy (Donut King); Lucy scored two goals and does not stop trying to win the ball unl the final whistle blows.

13 & Under: Kalangadoo 66 defeated Port MacDonnell 18. The girls worked hard to stop Kalangadoo. Our goalies took a while to sink the goals however we needed confidence from the get-go. Evie Jones was a great example of support and encouragement on Saturday being a loud voice for all! Lily Whan really took everything on from training and played a great game! Towards the 3rd quarter the girls started to drop their heads from a large score difference however made the last quarter fun and enjoyable. Awards: Lily Whan - Kaboom Family Entertainment, Madison Carlin - Wendy's.

15 & Under: Kalangadoo 44 defeated by Port MacDonnell 48. Well that was a close one. We were all very nervous coming up against K'doo, who are sing just under us on the leaderboard. Our girls stayed strong and came out with the win. We had our first 3 consistent quarters, where everyone was playing as a team, and we were up by 11. Our last quarter let us down with our passing, which made the game very close, so it's something we need to work on at training. Layla and Chelsea worked extremely hard in D with plenty of touches and intercepts. Ivy did some beauful passes in the ring and her and Bailee Lewis work so well in there together. Awards: Ivy Wilson (Intersport), Layla McPherson (Boost).

17 & Under: Kalangadoo 67 defeated Port MacDonnell 45. Last week was the league's Indigenous Round, the bay girls donning the club's fantasc Indigenous bibs designed by Tarquin Newton. It was also a milestone for our very own Ruby Moody, playing her 50th game for the Port MacDonnell Netball Club. The girls faced off against a formidable Kalangadoo side who have sat comfortably atop the ladder for the first half of the season. Our girls came out firing, lots of defensive stops from Alicetyn Stanley and Bree Ridding, working well through the mid court with Jasmine Morgan, Ruby Moody and Sophie Lewis. Some unforced errors by the Port MacDonnell girls in transion saw us finish the first half behind but sll determined to edge back the margin heading into the second. Our goalies Lilly Day and Lillie Lamb worked hard to convert on any opportunity sent their way and were helped to do so with accurate feeding from Chloe Day and Bella McLean. The girls did finish the day with a loss, but fought to the very final whistle and made for an excing game. Lilly Day and Bree Ridding were awarded best players for their impressive four-quarter efforts and sheer determinaon. Congratulaons to our girls for another fantasc game. Awards: Lilly

B Reserve: Kalangadoo 43 defeated by Port MacDonnell 61. In a fiercely contested game, our girls emerged victorious aer making use of our taccal changes and persistent defence. The match commenced with high intensity and compeve spirit, tesng our skills and strategy to the fullest. A cornerstone of the game was the relentless defence applied up and down the mid-court, prevenng Kalangadoo from advancing the ball. Our transion defence was parcularly impressive, quickly regaining possession and maintaining control of the game's tempo. This connuous defensive effort kept the pressure on throughout the match. A highlight was allowing our goalies greater freedom to move around the circle. This mobility created beer shoong opportunies and effecve posioning against their defenders. The goalies' ability to manoeuvre and find opmal shoong angles was pivotal in our scoring efficiency and overall success in the aacking third. Several key moments defined the game, including crical intercepons, mely defensive manoeuvres, and accurate shoong. The collecve effort of the team, driven by unwavering determinaon and strategic execuon, was instrumental in securing the victory. Our best players were awarded to Fiona Sco for her impressive defence in the goal ring & Paige Cawthorne for maintaining a steady rhythm through the centre. Thank you to Intersport Mount Gambier & The Victoria Hotel, Shipwreck Bistro for donang these awards. Also, a big thank you to our team sponsors, Michelle Stuckey Flowers and Diverse Concrete Co.

B Grade: Kalangadoo 55 defeated Port MacDonnell 45. Great game girls, we worked really hard all game to sck to our game plan. We sll need to work on perfecng our passes and backing each other up. Hard fought game by Kenz who gave 110% & worked relessly all game. Great pressure from Elivia and Chloe in defence. Let's keep up the posive vibes and geng some wins on the board. Best players: Stevie Collins - Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro, Chloe Newton - Bridie Blue.

A Reserve: Kalangadoo 54 defeated Port MacDonnell 35. Coming up against the Doo is always a tough hit out and made even tougher when we are yet to have our full team. We came out firing and strong with it being level for the first quarter. We just lost our mojo in the second which made it hard to get it back in the game. Defence again worked relessly against a tall aack. Our aack line up had to work extra hard with the defensive pressure they were under Best: Michelle Moore – Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro, Narelle Lewis – Salt Café.

A Grade: Kalangadoo 56 defeated Port MacDonnell 42. We started out strong and went out on the court with nothing to lose, and determinaon to want the ball. Our first half was awesome with great defensive pressure and passages of play bringing the ball out of defence into our aack line. Everyone worked overme to ensure we had smart passages of play and delivery of the ball. Going into the 3rd quarter with the scores ed, we weren't able to keep our calm steady on court presence and unfortunately let K'Doo get a run on. We threw away too many balls in the last half and unfortunately weren't able to capitalise on our own centre passes. These are errors we need to reduce especially against a team like K'Doo. On a posive note, we had one goal to achieve and we did that as a team, so you all should be proud of your efforts. Best: Emily Thompson, sponsored by Lima and Co (Voucher - Chemist King & Fasta Pasta), Cody Manning sponsored by Mount Gambier Foods (Voucher - Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro).

Day - Salt Café, Bree Ridding - Lima & Co.

round 10 A GRADE NETBALL MATCH REviews

Hatherleigh 33 lost to Glencoe 69

Glencoe won the toss and were quick to score the first goal. From there Glencoe took full control and were able to score easy and quickly through Chantelle Cocks and Jenna Paproth. Hatherleigh chipped away and worked hard to pin back the score, they applied plenty of pressure down the court but Glencoe were able to breakthrough and connue to add to the score board. This saw the visitors take a 10 goal lead going into the first break.

2nd quarter saw Hatherleigh make changes in their aack whilst Glencoe remained unchanged. The visitors connued to use Cocks as their go to to score quickly. Every ball was heavily contested by all players. Glencoe made the Eagles work very hard for every pass. Sarah Edwards was working over me in the defence to provide her side with more opportunies to convert. The visitors going into the main break 17.

The home side switched things up yet again, but Glencoe connued to control the game and extend their lead. Both sides were quick to jump on any loose balls. Kali Nele worked hard all game for the Eagles in aack, creang space and providing plenty of drive for her side. Both sides were paence in aack when they needed to be, however any cross court ball was taken turned over by Glencoe who quickly made the Eagles pay

52-27 going into the last quarter, with Glencoe sll remaining unchanged. Cocks and Paproth connued to combine well and made it difficult for Hatherleigh. Glencoe were consistent from end to end which showed why they are a finals contender. This didn’t stop Hatherleigh cking over the scoreboard and staying compeve. However Glencoe were far too good and ran out winners by 36.

Robe 40 lost to Tantanoola 53

The Robe line up saw quite a few changes from the earlier round clash with Tantanoola. Tori Gluyas, Goergia Perkins taking the court for the first me this year, and Alex Neale stepping up into the A grade. Tant were a seled side and played with paence and player understanding and

connecon throughout the game. The first quarter saw Robe sele quickly and Tori Gluyas was shoong accurately and Robe opening up a few goals lead in the first 5 minutes. Tantanoola gained momentum through some strong rebounds from Poulish and they moved the ball with composure through the mid court and found Emma Gould under the post. The score even 11 all at quarter me.

It was Tant who had the momentum going into the second quarter, having switched Bromley and Poulish at the break who were applying strong defensive pressure allowed them to gain some advantage. Gould and Walker were sharing the scoring for Tant challenging the Robe defence. All mid court players were working hard and Perkins for Robe was finding some great space at the top or the circle giving goalers Hunt and Gluyas plenty of opportunity. Varcoe was direcng play for Tantanoola however Georgia Perkins and Jennings worked hard to deny access and gained turnovers for Robe as the quarter went on and they allowed Robe to regain possession and again the scored levelled at 23 all at half me.

As the momentum swings connued, Robe has some advantage unl Gluyas suffered a knee injury and was out of the game. Emillie Gould came into the shoong role and the Robe side took some me to resele. Defensive pressure at both ends made scoring difficult and the mid court pressure form Neale and Hunter for Robe and Walker and Varoce saw the ball swing from one end to the other.

Tantanoola had a 3 goal lead at 3/4 me but came our firing in the last to open the game up. Tant moved the ball with speed and found some great angles to circle edge to accees the goalies who were accurate in the last quarter. The pressure saw Robe make some errors and Tant were very quick to pick up loose balls and were making sure they got the ball through and score from very opportunity doubling Robe’s score in the last quarter. Comfortable with their lead Tant swung the tall Ousey into shooter half way through the last and eventually came out with a solid 13 goal win. Final score Robe 40 def by Tant 53. Best players - Robe: Lucy Perkins and Ash Hunt; Tant: Kate

Varcoe and Shelby Ryan.

Mount Burr 69 defeated Kongorong 39

An overcast day at Mt Burr led to the first game of the second round. Mt Burr started with the first centre pass, scoring the first two goals of the day. Tilah Buckingham for Kongorong was the focal point in the circle, with Megan Thiele pulling in any missed shots. Mt Burr’s defence, Olivia Dean and Thiele drove the ball smoothly out of defence with Mt Burr taking advantage of the turnovers. Quarter me score, 16 Burr –7 Kongorong.

The second quarter remained unchanged with pressure applied by Kongorong’s mid court, picking off any loose balls, with Evie Sealey gaining many valuable possessions. Emily Lightbody and Rach Perry combined well in defence for Kongorong, creang many turnovers. Although Mt Burr had control of the ball, they were unable to capitalise in the circle, with Lightbody and Perry’s connuous pressure. The half–me score was Mt Burr 30 to Kongorong 18.

The third quarter started with steady passages of play from Mt Burr, starng the quarter strong. Laura Schultz and Ella Easterby’s feeds were unmatched, making it hard for Kongorong’s defence to regain possession. Abbey Falng stopped the drive onto the circle edge, applying pressure to every pass. Dean and Thiele made mely intercepons for Mt Burr’s mid-court to maintain control, driving the ball down into offence. Zara Von Stanke, Kongorong’s WA, assisted her goalies with her strong drives onto the circle. This quarter was mainly dominated by Mt Burr, with the score being 47 Mt Burr – Kongorong 27.

In the final quarter, Mt Burr came out firing, applying pressure all over the court, forcing many errors. Madi Hagge and Danika Shepherd stepped up with great movement and combinaon to finish off with fantasc shoong. Mt Burr’s mid court created opportunies for their goalies to score. When Kongorong had the chance in their aack, Buckingham and Sealey shot at 100% for the quarter. Mt Burr’s second half of the game set them up for a strong win with the final score being 69-39.
