The Mid South Eastern Football League are proud to be ge ng behind Zaidee's Rainbow Founda on and The Great Registra on Race for DonateLife Week. Join the #GreatRegistra onRace with us and encourage 100,000 Australians to become registered organ and ssue donors by the end of #DonateLifeWeek, which runs from Sunday 24 July – 31 July. 100,000 sounds like a big number – and it is – but there are actually 13 million Australians eligible to register who haven't. Together, we can help turn this number around. 1,750 Australians are currently on the organ transplant waitlist. You could help save a life one day and change someone's life forever. Register as an organ and ssue donor at donatelife.gov.au/register

It has been four years since Mount Gambier resident and DonateLife campaigner Kimberley Telford became the first South Australian recipient of a dual kidney and pancreas transplant a er living with Type 1 diabetes for 16 years. The Telford family have had a long associa on with both the League and the Kalangadoo Football Club and since her life saving opera on, Kimberley has become a strong advocate for organ dona on, urging more Australians to register their details and discuss their wishes with their families. The role of Zaidee's Rainbow Founda on is to "Inspire Discussion" na onally to help increase the dona on rate the wider community. To make everyone more aware of the benefits of what organ and ssue dona on can provide to those that are in need of a transplant today or in the future. Some of today's teams will be wearing the Zaidee's Rainbow Shoelaces to highlight and raise organ dona on registra ons. Interes ng Facts Ÿ

A Grade: A er a week off for the Zone carnival, the lads were keen to get back on the winners list. Congratula ons to Jack Kelly on coaching the South Eastern Zone team to a gutsy 1-point win to take out the championships. Well done to the Mid SE players who represented the South East. Round 14 against Kongorong was a must win game to stay in finals conten on. The weather smiled down on us as the rain and wind held off but the Kongorong oval was s ll slippery and heavy under foot. The game was physical right from the start and we got the jump on the scoreboard kicking 4 goals 6 to Kongorong's 1 straight goal. Jack Sneath posi oned himself at full forward and starred for Robe kicking 8 goals for the day. He led up well and clunked some big marks which provided headaches for the Kongorong defenders. Kongorong came out in the second with fire in their bellies to chase down our early lead. Kongorong midfielder, Ma Cordy started to clear the football from the centre. They kicked well to their strong full forward Sco Fleming who took some big marks and kicked 3 goals to bring the game back to a trail by 10 points at half me. Kongorong

came out of the 3-quarter me break ready to take the lead for the first me. It was a tussle for control over the football with it rebounding between half backs. Kongorong seized on their momentum and Aaron Lightbody kicked 3 goals for Kongorong. We needed to li in the last quarter if we were to win the game. The Robe boys didn't disappoint. We started to win clearances from the midfield with Samuel Clements providing silky and clean skills. Robe midfielder, Kane Dunn never lost his foo ng and provided plenty of clearances from the midfield. The way he hunts the football and never goes to ground much like a goanna. Robe forward, Tom Miller proved hard to stop and popped up forward slo ng 3 goals. The game well and truly broke open as we controlled the football and moved in with rela ve ease. We came away with a gutsy 21-point victory. This week we take on Port MacDonnell back on our home deck. A huge season defining game that needs to be won if we want to play in September. This week we also have our 35year reunion for the 1987 A Grade and Junior Colts' sides. See you there Rooster fans!

B Grade: A long year doesn't even seem to come close to describing the year the B Grade has had. For the first me in well over a decade, the compe veness is there, this is for many reasons, but unfortunately it is our turn at the bo om. As the year has gone on Coach Donovan seems to have had li le relief with a few more regulars pu ng theirs hands up every week to play. This hasn't stopped the player registra on coming strong, the SANFL will be very happy with the registra on earnings from the Pt MacDonnell B Grade this year. A er a very posi ve start the B Grade boys managed to take a very early slender lead at quarter me and was able to slightly extend at the half. The lead could have been a li le more with a bit more accurate kicking. The third quarter was rela vely even, however the challenge was always coming from a Nangwarry that has already had 5 wins this year. In the last quarter the challenge came, Nangwarry seemed to score a li le easier in the final quarter and when they kicked a goal to bring them back within a goal everyone on the bench started to tense up. Thankfully the siren was our friend as it blew while s ll holding a 6-point lead. Best for
the week, Jacob Simmonds, James Bald, Daniel Fisher, Mason Brown, Grady Hutchesson, Christopher Driver. A Grade: A er suffering a couple of losses over the last 2 rounds, mixed in with the bye and the country championships weekend, it seemed like an eternity since the senior boys have saluted the judges. Every win is so important in the last 5 rounds as the seniors are trying to make the top 4 to play finals this year. A li le extra mo va on was found with both Blake Lynch and Jake Turner playing there 100th game for the club. Both boys came over to the club a few years ago and not only have given great service not only on field but off, both have been involved in junior coaching, Blake is the current co-coach in the U17. The game was a strong effort from the boys, they took an early lead and they were able to extend the lead at the end of every quarter to take out a confidence boos ng win as they head into the next very important phase of the season. Best for the week, Tim Sullivan, Kev Thomson, William Macdonald, Jake Schleter, Liam Bo omley, Ned Wilke.

Can you believe there are only 3 games le for the minor round in 2022? It sure has flown by. We have a few big weeks coming up and would love to see as many of our players and supporters at these func ons. Following today's round we have the auc on night, next week is the Red, Black & White cocktail night. You can s ll purchase ckets to these events see Tamara.
Junior Colts: We travelled down to the Bay with the aim of con nuing our improved contested footy. Pt Mac were very efficient in front of goal and at half me it was 5 shots on goal to our 4 but we trailed by 16pts. In the second half, Pt Mac got on top in the middle and played very good team footy and although we tried hard down back they started to kick away. We are a very young side so our group should keep their heads up and look forward to the next challenge in a weeks' me. Best players were Calais, Benne , Josh, Harvey, Blake and Jimmy. Senior Colts: The first quarter is what let us down as the home side put on 4 of their 10 goals for the game. The rest of the game the guys put in a great effort but were

unable to capitalise on the scoreboard. In the end going down by 58 points. With 3 games to go let's see if we can get on the winners list. Best players Archer, Noah, Hayden, Ty, Calais and Jordan. Goals to Noah and Jordan. B Grade: Let’s start on a posi ve note, Ma Thompson played his 100th game for the club. In terrible ground condi ons the boys played there heart out but in the end we went down by 6 points. There are some really good signs going forward for the club, just need a few more out on the track. Thanks for Angus for filling in. A new award we gave out was the Snake and it went to Bailey. Best: Sco , Sam, Hoody, Hayden S, Josh, Jayden. Goals: Craig 2, Jordan 1, Vesa 1, Jarrad 1, Sam 1. Bring on this weekend. Go the Saints! A Grade: We started the game well but Port MacDonnell, a team that will go deep into the finals, adapted to a game style suited to what can only be described as ‘trying condi ons”. Their bigger bodies and wealth of experience were too much for us in the end. Best players for the day were Isaac Raymond, Joel Virtanen, Tommy Vanderhorst, Brayden Kelly, Marcus Thomson and Kayne Badman with goal kickers being Andy Hyland, Jack Pudney and Josh Smith. Pleasing to see 2 of our young underage players, Ty and Archer, increasing their game me each week and develop their skillset to a level required to play senior football consistently. This week we take on Kalangadoo on our home turf in what is a big day for our club, Auc on Night. With the season nearing an end our boys will roll up their sleeves and throw everything at our opposi on this week. We as a team and club have come a long way this year however, we have so much more to play for and give our supporters and ourselves the seasons end to be proud of. Two homes games remaining, see you all back in the club.

Round 14 saw us host Mount Burr, in what was one of the coldest, we est days for the season. Winter had officially arrived. The weather made for ght, contested footy all day. With Kalangadoo winning both Senior grades. Under 11: The kids were back a er 2 weeks off and ba led the elements in a scratch match between themselves. Mount Burr don't have an Under 11s team, so we played an internal amongst ourselves. Frank Mules took full advantage of the familiar opposi on and kicked 5 in the wet. All of the kids played really well and it's great to see them enjoying themselves every week! Junior Colts: The kids came up against an older, more experienced Mount Burr, but played one of the most well fought games of the season. Apart from the 1st quarter, where Mount Burr got a quick jump, they then contested really hard across the next 3 quarters. A great effort for such a young team. Senior Colts: The Senior Colts had a good game, but not great. We eventually lost by 24 points. Inaccurate kicking cost us in the end. S ll there were some great signs, with the younger brigade of Senior Colts playing their best game for the season. B Grade: A er a couple of weeks away from footy the B Grade lads were really keen to get back into playing against Mount Burr who although have not won a heap of games are always very compe ve. Approaching finals the B Grade side certainly started to take shape with the return of some players from long term injuries. Nathan Reeves and Jamil Jones were clearly best on the ground as they controlled the centre clearances and forward entries. This enabled Sco y Agnew to con nue with his great

form receiving first use and being able to boot 10 majors. Tyler Jones and Bre Lindner had numerous contested possessions and Jus n Mansell was sensa onal from the half back line using his running ability to break lines and create opportuni es. This week we are looking forward to another tough contest against an improving Nangwarry team as we approach the last few games of the home and away season Seniors: The Senior boys took on a young Mount Burr side, who competed hard all game in the wet and wild condi ons. Our experience, quick ball movement and run saw us run out victors by 123 points. Sammy Mac was excep onal, Benny Gregs kicked a game high 8 goals, followed by Kriegs and Benny who both booted 5. Past Players Last Saturday the Kalangadoo Football Club officially launched our Past Players group ‘Club 27’. It was fantas c to see so many past players take the opportunity to return to our club and in doing so they had the me to reconnect, reflect and celebrate many achievements and milestones that makes our club what it is today. Thanks to League President Peter Mitchell who a ended and addressed the group and to Peter and Judy Savage and Adam and Mel Box who spent countless hours preparing photo and memorabilia boards for the past players to view and reminisce. As a club we are most certainly looking forward to making this an annual event and as an opportunity to acknowledge our past players. This week we head to Nangas who are arguably the most improved ou it across the 4 grades in the league. Good luckSteve Magpies, you Images courtesy Walterssee (Snapperific) there.

Today we have our team photos which Steve Chapple has kindly given his me to take. Thank you Steve, we are very lucky to have you suppor ng our club. Each week we have Ange Osborne taking some fantas c photos of both our football and netball players as well as Naomi Moreland a few mes as well. Thank you to you ladies, I know parents and players love seeing what quality shots will be on display. What a fantas c night last Saturday for our Christmas in July/Quiz night. Pidge was great as the quiz master so a big thank you to him and the Social Commi ee for pulling this together. Some dates to remember for the rest of the season: Junior Presenta on Sunday 11th September (a er Prelim Final) Senior Presenta on Date hasn't been set as yet. Under 11: Big thanks to Marky for organising and coaching the kids last week while I was away. We had a couple of top age boys play for the second week in a row and it helped get the younger ones into the game and seemed to give them a lot more confidence having them there also. They are really jelling as a team and having lots of fun each week and it's great to watch. Awards went to Maxx Bevan, Jaxon Long, Caleb Hoffman, Xavier Yates. Junior Colts: Last week we came up against a strong well drilled Glencoe team that was filled with a lot of top age players that were just too big for us, credit for our boys and girls who ba led hard all day. Best players were Summer, Hunts Jake B, Eli, and Kobe. Senior Colts: Good morning all, the trip to Glencoe to tussle with the Murphies is always a pleasure, especially when we come away with a well fought out victory. The boys jumped out the blocks early

and kicked themselves off to a good lead, only to have this whi led away over the next couple of quarters. We started the last quarter with a deficit of a goal or so and dug deep to claw our way back to run out the game with a 35 point lead. Best players we Cade Kelly, Braydn Hateley, Sam and Ryan Simmons and Kaden Bell. Reserves: Hi everyone, coming up at against Glencoe a er the bye and unfortunately couldn't get the win. The boys put in a good effort while we were having a struggle for numbers. Looking to shape up and come back stronger. Best on ground went to Tyson McGrath for awesome work in the middle and consistency throughout the game. Other best players were Nick Cory, Mark Langley, Sco Bowering and Jake Bromley. A Grade: G'day everyone. Last week we made our way down to Glencoe to take on the Murphies. With a slightly depleted senior side it opened the door to introduce young future Tigers to senior football. A er star ng quite slow in the first while s ll being aggressive at the ball, Glencoe were able to convert on the scoreboard as we were slightly inaccurate. With a couple of our juniors kicking their first senior goals it was easy to forget the scoreboard when li le milestones are made like that. Towards the end inexperience, fitness and sore bodies allowed Glencoe to eventually run away with the game but for the future of the club experiences like Saturday were a great step forward to building strong founda ons. Best in no order were Roy Osborne, Ryan Simmons, Troy Ha , Jordan Ha and Brayden Rowe. www.tantanoolafootballclub. spor ngpulse.net Find us on Facebook: Tantanoola Football and Netball Club

Last week the Senior side wore the blue socks for our Beyond Blue Round. It is important to check in on your mates, both on the field and off, and support those that need it. We've lost too many, too young, and having a conversa on could just save a life. We also undertook our annual SouthEast Animal Welfare League pet food drive, and thank you for the dona ons received to-date. Dona ons will be accepted at the club on Tuesday and Thursday trainings, up to 2nd August, so drop in a bag of dry food or a few cans. The League Round was the 'Think Road Safety' Round, with Ma Cordy receiving the medal for best player for Kongorong in the Seniors. As most would be aware, we provide a bus (Steve Noble Memorial Community Bus) on home games, and func on nights, to get our people home or back into Mount Gambier safely, and the Kongorong Progress Advisory Commi ee are in the process of purchasing Kongorong's own 'Community Bus'. One way we, as a club, support the Road Safety campaign. Under 11: A er a week off the kids were super keen to play footy, as we welcomed Robe for what was a very good game of football. Started the game off a li le slow, but as the first third progressed each and every player got involved in the game. The older kids stepped up, showing some great leadership skills for their younger teammates. Awards: Intersport - Kobe Galloway, Graham & Ange Award: Mason Galpin, Angelino Family Award - Sam McInnes, Coaches Award - Jimmy Whi y, Club Award - Nathaniel Elletson and Donut King - Jack Maidment. Junior Colts: A er yet another week off with no footy, we welcomed a young and developing Roosters ou it that have been improving each week. From the 1st bounce we hit the ground running in tough and slippery condi ons, but our midfield rota ons made all the running from the outset. While it wasn't as free flowing as we have been, up forward we had plenty of the play early on, to make sure con nually kept the scoreboard cking over. Once again, our backline worked hard and managed to keep Robe scoreless over the 4 quarters, while the midfield and forwards played out the game and allowed the backs to go forward late in the game which was pleasing to see. Best players and awards went to Cur s Page - Rarcoola Structural Award, Axel Page - Rocks Shop Award, Ryan Lucas - Spot-On Fishing, Nate Von Stanke-Dowie - Mick Mullan Award, Harrison Elletson - Coaches Award, Ryan Taylor - Janeway Plumbing Award. As the end of the season is fast approaching, we look forward to a short trip up the road to a young Tant side.

Senior Colts: Another nice day at home last week taking on Robe, it was going to be a tough task against a strong team, and with a couple of our key players out for the week! We come out a bit slow which allowed Robe to capitalise on the scoreboard early. A er a stern word at half me, changing some things around, the boys really stepped it up a notch and gave a good effort for the rest of the game. I wasn't disappointed with how we finished the day off, but going down unfortunately. Best players were Declan Wright - Ma hews Petroleum Award, Will Von Stanke - MT Wheels, Harrison Elletson - Swallow Drive Meats, Brycie Von Stanke-Dowie - Mick Mullan Award, Maverick Cooper - Coaches Award and Toby McKinnon - Badenoch's Deli Award. I've got high hopes for us when we take on these boys in a few weeks' me. Go Hawks! Reserves: No official game due to Robe forfeiture, however the boys threw the gear on and headed out for kick. Before you knew it there were 'oldies but goodies' out there, colts of all ages and the odd random! Umpires joined in, and was a great spectacle to fill the void l the A Grade started. No doubt a few sore bodies on Sunday though! A Grade: A high intensity open running game last week with the boys coming back a er a slow first quarter. We were able to hit the front at 3/4 me a er playing a great second quarter and taking the game on. Unfortunately we had six scoring chances in the last but were unable to put the icing on the cake, and ul mately cos ng us the game. Awards: Aaron Lightbody - Bellum Hotel Award, Michael Waters - Commercial Hotel Award, Ma Cordy - Collins Court Butcher Award (Think Road Safety Medal also), Jimmy ('Misty') Burzaco Commercial Hotel Award, Corben O'Dea and Harry Evans - Club Tea Awards. A big shout out to all who contributed to our 'Miss Kongorong' event last week. Special thanks to Jake B, Ryan, Will V, Jimmy, Jake W, Je and Ma y M for frocking up! Mons for emcee, and Cam, Jules and Harry for judging. The netballers for hair, make-up and wardrobe selec ons - dual winners 'Misty' (Jimmy) and 'Mona' (Jake W), plus a proposal... a fun night had by all! This week we have the social event of the year, 'Coola Cup'. We can't thank the Ellis family enough for allowing us to hold the func on in the big woolshed, a great atmosphere, and a memorable night ensured. Brad, Emily and Ash have done another top job in organising a sellout event, well done. 6th of August – Past players and re-union day, spread the word. Good luck to all teams against Tantanoola this week

A Grade: Last game we travelled down to take on Tantanoola with good condi ons we were keen to use them to our advantage. We got off to a good start, the boys in the middle were first to the footy and used our runners well to get repeat forward 50 entries and put pressure on the Tantanoola defenders. We went into the main break with a handy 7 goal lead. A er half me our boys hit the ground running and with some really good ball movement we managed to add another 16 goals and finish with a 20+ goal win. Jordy Galpin and Mikey Telford were huge in the middle pu ng their body on the line and also hi ng the scoreboard while Paddy Shay led the way up forward with 7 goals straight! Jack Skeer found plenty of the ball on the wing and as usual used it well going forward. Gerard McGrath had a big day never losing a contest and using that lethal le foot to his advantage. Darcy Bateman worked hard all day at CHF being at every contest and taking some nice park
marks. We now enjoy a couple of weeks off and look forward to ge ng our body's cherry ripe for the run home. Go Eagles! B Grade: We made the trip down to Tant last round. Tant came out firing and had plenty of pressure in the first qtr. A er a good old fashioned spray to the boys at qtr me, we got the game back on our terms and playing our style of football again. Lewy Brown had a day out around the ground and bagged himself 4 goals and BOG honours. Ethan Bowman showed his class and hardness around the ball all day to take out second best. Big rural Bell came out and kicked another bag of goals taking his season tally to 59. Max Telfer had another good day in the middle to take out 4th best, the skipper was in good touch again a er a late night dra ing a few sheep Thursday night, kicked 4 and took home fi h best. The boys will enjoy a couple of weeks rest and look forward to the last 5 games of the season.

Last week we welcomed Tantanoola to the Mecca for Round 14. The day brought fairly clear skies and some quality games. We came away with 3 out of 4 wins. Junior Colts: The Junior Colts again got us off to a great start, playing team orientated fast football. We defended really well and stop all their forward 50 forays. We came out of the game with a 25 goal win. Daniel Ferguson led the way with 8 goals to now sit at the top of the league’s goal kickers. Best players for the day were Tyrone Siebert, Kallan Price, Tighe Hurley, Daniel Ferguson, Bailey Dale and Tyler Rothall. Senior Colts: The Senior Colts match was a great game to watch with both sides going goal for goal for most of the match. Tant stepped up the tempo in certain parts and we managed to fight back to get in front at three quarter me. In the last quarter we dropped off for the last 10 minutes and Tant kicked away as we lost by 36 points. Highlights were 2 sensa onal goals from Cam Braendler and Kieron Rigney. Best players for the game were Nick Adams, Fletcher Lawson, Harrison Mitchell, Cameron Braendler, Kieron Rigney and Bailey Rothall. Reserves: The Reserves con nued their hot form, now si ng clear out in 3rd posi on on the ladder and with one hand on a finals berth. We played a consistent 4 quarter game with no passengers. Well done to Jayson Finnis who played his 100th Senior game. A tough game this week for the Reserves as they face the top of table Eagles. Hopefully the form they are in will help them 2nd qtr

test themselves in prepara on for the lead into finals. We ran away from Tant in the final term kicking 4 goals to no score. Best players were Mark Arthurson, Taylor McGrath, Lachlan Hoch, Tory Weaver, Trent Hawke and Jayson Finnis. A Grade: The A Grade were keen to make amends for the last me we played Tant and lost, in what was one of our worst performances of the year. We started this game much be er kicking 8 goals to 2 in the 1st quarter. A fast start was combated in the 2nd as both teams kicked 5 each before the half me siren. We played be er in the 3rd term kicking 5 goals to 1 and opened our lead up to around 60 points. The s ng had gone out of the game during the last quarter and both teams showed signs of fa gue and were making skill errors. We ran away with a 59-point win. Best players were Zacc Cocks, Patrick Mitchell, Henry Smith, Brodie Glynn and Alex Hentschke. During the day we celebrated our Premiership reunions. It was great to see so many people come out and share a frothy or 2 with their old premiership winning teammates. We also had our annual Auc on Night Saturday night. Many thanks to Dane Paproth who organised a lot of the event. This helped to raise a lot of money for the club and thanks to everyone who donated their goods or services. This weekend we head over to Hatherleigh in what will be some tough games against some top quality opposi on. 4th qtr

Last Saturday we saw Hijisa Radley achieve 150 senior games for the Tantanoola Netball Club. She has appeared in many finals throughout her junior playing years as well as in the B Grade and B Reserve sides taking home mul ple premierships along the way. Hijisa is heavily involved in all aspects of the club - the ul mate club person! A part of the commi ee for the most part of her senior netball at Tantanoola, Hijisa is currently serving her first year as president of the Netball Club and is a natural leader, always willing to help with any tasks or jobs, yet able to delegate with ease. She has been on the social commi ee for many years and has happily taken on numerous coaching roles, including currently being a playing co-coach of the B Reserve. Hijisa reached her previous 100 senior game milestone in June of 2017 and has since been part of the B Reserve team, taking part in their final appearances in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Hijisa had 2021 off of netball when she had her daughter, Harper. The Tantanoola Netball Club congratulate Hijisa on her milestone and we know there will be many more to come.
A GRADE NETBALL PREVIEW - ROUND 15 Robe v Port MacDonnell The Demons head down to Robe on Saturday to brave the weather against the Roosters. When these two teams met earlier in the season it was a close match, and Robe will be looking to come out on top this me and redeem themselves a er their two goal loss in round six. The combina on of Alana Winter and Belinda O'Dine in the defensive circle for Port Mac will put the pressure on for Robe's goalies Sarah Laurie and Halle Carter. Laurie and Carter move well together in the circle, both shoot with accuracy and are fed with ease by Annie Hunter and Lucy Perkins. Down the other end of the court Toni Gilmore's accuracy and experience gives her team confidence and combines well with goal a ack Brooke Williams. A er a well fought game, Robe will be hoping to come away with the win to secure their place in the top four.
Nangwarry v Kalangadoo Nangwarry host the Magpies this weekend, and Kalangadoo will be looking to increase their percentage in order to cement their posi on on the ladder. The Saints will work relessly to make this hard for Kalangadoo, with Carly Ploenges and Shannon Higgins figh ng to create turnovers in the defensive circle. Abbey Duncan's accuracy in the goal circle is a focal point for the Pies, so Nangwarry's defenders will have to fight to shut her presence down, however Kori Collins in goal shooter is also very accurate. Reanna Wetherall and Lauren Kain in defence combine well and will be looking to shut down the high work rate of Ange Pra and Tahlia Wilson for Nangwarry in their a acking end, but Kalangadoo will come away with the win.
Tantanoola v Kongorong The Hawks head to Tantanoola this weekend to ba le it out with the Tigers. Tilah Buckingham's accuracy in the goal circle, paired with the drive of Evie Sealey will mean Tant's Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe will have to chase any loose ball or rebound. Hawks Kate Wright and Rach Perry feed into their goalies well from outside the circle but will have to pass with accuracy to get the ball past the hands of Tantanoola's defenders. Tantanoola goalies Emma Gould and Jami Walker combine well together, and both are incredibly accurate throughout the circle, meaning that Emily Lightbody and Riley Buckingham will need to force errors and turnovers before the ball makes it into the goal circle, however their height will enable them to fight for any rebounds. A er a well fought game, Tantanoola will finish the game with the points.
Hatherleigh v Glencoe A er a loss against the Eagles in round six, Glencoe will be looking to redeem themselves this weekend. Sarah Edwards and Chantelle Cocks combine well together in the defensive circle for the Murphies, and they will ensure that any of Hatherleigh's possible goalie combina ons will have to work hard for every goal. Demi Vanderhorst and Lara MacGregor will need to limit scoring opportuni es for Glencoe's Jenna Paproth and Malinda Markiewicz. The tussle between Hatherleigh's Georgia Hunter and Glencoe's Chloe Pfitzner on the wing will be one to watch, as they both fight for every loose ball and poten al possession. A er two weeks off, and players returning, Hatherleigh may be unse led and will need to work over me to get back into the swing of things. A er a tough game, Glencoe will cement their posi on in the top of four with a win.

NETball club notes Junior 2: A great game back a er a couple of weeks off for our girls. Really finding their spots and where they are comfortable playing. We had some great plays down the court with the goalies working that bit harder against a taller Kongorong side. Scoring goals really gives them all the confidence boost to keep pushing towards the end of the season. Great effort by everyone. Incen ve (donated by Sails @ Robe) went to Jessica Hayes, she con nued pushing and really listened to what I was asking of her and got a few turnovers. Well done Jess! Junior 1: The girls were a li le slow off the mark but soon found their feet. Defence working relessly to get those rebounds we unfortunately couldn't score those rebounds as the defensive pressure from Kongorong down the court proved too much. The girls all did a great job, defending every pass and did their best right to the end. Great effort girls! Incen ve went to Saskia A-Warren for a fantas c game in defence ge ng lots of intercepts and rebounds. 13 & Under: Robe 61 Kongorong 14. What a game! It was great to see the girls step up and all play their roles in their posi ons. Milla and Millie shoo ng with accuracy all game and making some smart moves in the goal ring. Tess, Kaitley and Holly provided drive onto the circle and fed the goalies with ease. Lacey, Olivia and Mackenzie worked hard all game to keep the opposi ons score far from ours. We finished with a fun quarter where the girls played random posi ons and it was great to see that they were star ng to adapt to the new posi ons. Overall, it was a great team game, probably our best yet. Best player went to Millie for her accuracy in the goals and her forward posi on. Incen ve could have gone to every single player but it went to Tess for her consistent 4 quarters and fight all game! Well done girls! 15 & Under: Robe 56 Kongorong 11. Great game girls. We played a full solid game and con nued to improve as the game went on. Being able to stay in our spots for a whole game really benefi ed each and every one of you. Lucy and Kiana combined so well in goals, learning to use their bodies to get in front and hold in front. Emily and Georgie at C and WA worked hard all game and contributed to numerous turnovers, making sure they were converted. Our defence of Charlie, Tilly and Stella played a great game, pu ng what we did at training into the game, and their players struggling to find an easy way into their goalies. Good job girls! Best player went to Lucy for her solid string game at GS and incen ve went to Emily for her pa ence and great driving. 17 & Under: Robe 50 Kongorong 37. Terrific team game and we pushed out the 4 quarters to maintain our lead. Took us half a game to really get into it so let's work on this for future games so we are ready to go as soon as that 1st whistle blows. We had great defensive pressure by all! Lexy killed it in GK crea ng those forced errors and ge ng her hands to many balls. Mads ran hard all game and her hands over the ball were fantas c earning herself best player. Hayley got incen ve a er having a boomer in WD. Intercept a er intercept and her drives down the court were strong and direct. Maisie created lots of play and had strong direc on down the court. Sienna found her groove again out at WA and had some super passes into the ring. Ella had her eye in for those long shots and combined well with Libby in the ring.
NETball club notes Libby was strong and direct in GS maintaining control in the ring. It was a great team game. Let's keep this pressure and determina on in the games to come. B Reserve: Robe 29 Kongorong 22. The night before ji ers and pre-game nerves for all as we headed into our Kong game gunning for the win. We all succinctly remembered the one goal loss last round and hopes were high to jag the points. But we had Rhi, Robbie, Jess and Bai out for the week and the coach had to nego ate key players to step in from the U17s, namely goalie Sienna Brooks, Maddie Wirth and new to us Hayley Wylie. Thanks Alex. At the end of the first we were up by 4, but posi onal changes by Kong and a change of ump end saw Sienna and Lonny struggle with no goals in the second. A quick chat between goalies got us back on track mentally as we worked out what was going on. Hayley provided some much needed drive through the centre in the second half. Up by one with one quarter to go. A give it all you've got in the last saw us pull away at the end to win by 7. So so good. Calcu a deservedly went to Sienna and Mandz played through a migraine and won incen ve. Massive thanks to our juniors and the support from club members before and a er match. And thanks Queen B for coun ng down that final 6 min. I got to 2 min and got a bit teary knowing we had it in the bag… Go Roosters! Well done B Rezzies - you did good. B Grade: Robe 46 Kongorong 57. We went in with no expecta ons but hoping to get closer to a win. Kongorong started off strong, with our girls in defence really having to work hard to try and get any rebounds. We fell short in the first half against some really accurate shoo ng. Mid court worked hard all game to get the ball down to our shooters who worked relessly against some tough defence. A change around at half me meant we had some fresh legs on court which worked in our favour ge ng us to within 3 goals and winning the third quarter. Unfortunately, we couldn't keep the momentum but everyone played strong un l the end. Congratula ons to Tamara Jess on playing her 150 games for Robe, she played a ripper earning her Incen ve for the week. Calcu a went to Lily who had an incredible game in GS. A Reserve: Robe 63 Kongorong 23. A great game from everyone with our a ack perfec ng game play right from the first centre pass and our defence working hard to gain those turnovers. We s ll need to work on a couple things to get us to perfect those back-line throw ins, but everyone works relessly to make sure the ball gets where it needs to go, our pa ence is an asset to our team. Calcu a - Kim Ross. Incen ve - Keryn Moore. A Grade: Robe 57 Kongorong 31. A er a couple of weeks off it was good to get back on the court together! With Georgia stepping up and playing goals with Sarah, they moved well together and made the most of any chance they had to score the goal. Lucy once again worked relessly at WA, driving onto the circle with precision and feeding well coming away with the Calcu a. Annie and Maisie drove down the court well bringing the ball out of defence. Emma and Ellen combined well in defence and worked hard to pick off lots of balls against some tall opposi on. A good team game, with confidence in ourselves and each other. x
Junior 2: The girls played a very great game and should be very happy with how they played. Keep up the good work girls. You’re improving every week and it is really star ng to show on the court! Best players Emilee, second best Molly. Junior 1: Great game girls, our footwork improved so much. Best players went to Peyton for playing a great game all over the court, she took home the Wendy's award, Lily had a great game with some great shoo ng also taking home a Wendy's award. Kia also tried very hard and did a great job in GK, taking home the Fasta Pasta award. 13 & Under: Last week was a whole different line up, girls playing in different posi ons and out of the ordinary, missing three of our girls from the team we fought hard ll the end. Thank you so much to Addison Smith for playing a full game of under 13's and out of her normal spot you played brilliantly and should be super proud yourself. Thanks to the girls who played in unusual spots and s ll gave their 100%. The start of the game our passes and leads were all over the shop, coming into quarter break we talked about what needed to be done and each me it was done each girl listened and we tried our best and that is all we could of asked for. Unfortunately once Nangwarry had a run they were very good and we should have played out game not trying and speed things up, unfortunately we didn't get the win but we can always come back stronger and having a full team back in the next couple of weeks we will be able to focus on the things that really ma er, keep up the great work girls. Best players went to Addison Smith who is our Jr 1 who stepped up and absolutely killed it (Donut King), and Chelsea Fulham (Hungry Jack’s). 15 & Under: A bit of a disappoin ng game girls, lost it with your bad passing. Keep your heads up, we want to finish the season off strong. Baker’s Delight best players to Sophie Jones and Ali Stanley. 17 & Under: First off, a big thank you to Ruby Ali and Jaz for being a part of our team Saturday! Ruby ended up playing a full game at GA with core shooter Lara and she did a fantas c job! Your confidence grew as the game went on. Well done to our 17s girls with ANOTHER new side again. Your resilience is very impressive. I hope we can finally get into our stride and calm the team a li le before finals. It’s all heads down and hard
work from here. Every quarter you were given team goals or individual goals and you met everyone of them. An all round great game and day! Congratula ons to Under 17 player Kate for her debut in A Grade and also securing another win for the day alongside junior team mate Lara who took on the GA posi on for the game, as well as Arriella Smith for also having a great game in at wing defence. Awesome effort girls! Best players: Ruby Moody and Lara Wilson. B Reserve: Nice game ladies. Once again thank you to our juniors that helped us out! Good job on court Jazzy, Alicetyn and Layla and si ng on my bench Lilly and Gracie. Jazzy received Periwinkle's Cafe awards for her great driving into goals and shoo ng. Layla received Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Cafe award for her posi on on the circle for our defence throw in and driving down court. Good job! B Grade: It was a strong and solid start to our game. Everyone worked hard from the beginning to establish posi ons and did their job extremely well. The court was well balanced and everyone did their preliminary work to gain and maintain possession. Using the ball effec vely in a ack enabled Candice and Jess to find a strong scoring posi on. Jess posi on well and drove strongly into the goal ring finding space. Finished off her hard work with beau ful shots. Quick ball movement around the circles edge by Kelly and De enabled the goalies to find perfect posi on under post. Strong drives through the mid court by Georgia and Brooklyn set up the a ack line for perfect ball delivery. Both being available on the line to helped reposi on and open up the a ack line. Defensively Brooklyn and Elivia combined well to shut down their opponents. Providing us with some great deflec on, touches and intercep ons. Capitalising on our turnovers and scoring our own was our major focus during the game. Paige entered the game in third and didn't miss a beat. Passing well med balls into the goal circle. We were pa ent with the ball and found the right op ons to goal. Thanks goes to Jaytee and Ainsley for being on our bench. Elivia Stanley - Shipwreck Bistro Victorian Hotel Port MacDonnell, Jess Grigg Pick Ave Deli Bakery. A Reserve: Unfortunately we didn't get the result we would've liked. Let's re-group, be prepared to learn from it and con nue to work on our team and individual goals. Let's finish the season strong and con nue to strive and develop along the way.

NETball club notes Junior 2: With all our players back last week down at the bay and the weather held off was a great effort by all. Spreading out on the court you girls have achieved last week with good passes, we didn't get to finish off our hard work with scoring in the game but everything we have been working on has been achieved on the court. So well done girls. Best player: Zoe Roisse er (Fasta Pasta), Leah Norman (Athlete's Foot). Junior 1: Great game by everyone, we love seeing your skills improve each week. You played a great defensive game and goalies shot well following your shots and rebounding well. Well done on chasing the loose balls. You didn't crowd as much which was a great improvement. Best players: Izzy (Athlete’s Foot), for a great game in C; Lucy (Fasta Pasta), for many intercepts in defence. Thanks again to Leah, Maddy and Zoe for filling in. 13 & Under: Well done, very proud. We proved we were the best team on the day and all eight players did their part to earn the win. A er a low scoring even first quarter, Pt Mac stepped up tempo in the second quarter and outscored us by three. Although only a few down at half me we took a risk and made lots of changing. These changes just happened to work and we won the third quarter by two goals and last quarter by three. Was an exci ng game to watch and you all kept your cool in a high intensity pressured game with lots of crowd cheering. Great effort, we s ll need a few more wins to be a chance for finals, so keep working hard. Fasta Pasta award Ella Stewart for being our reliable goalie and rebounding strongly. Baker’s Delight award to Kaylee for changing to defence and ge ng the rebounds we needed. 17 & Under: Well done girls on a good game, was an improvement since last me you played them. There was some good passages of play down the court. Great job on backing each other up and chasing the loose balls. Defence worked hard all game. Our goalies combined well, even with a new combina on last quarter. Mid court had some nice feeding into
NETball club notes goalies. Just need to remember to work on coming front posi on. Best players Molly and Skye. B Reserve: Defence worked really hard, not once giving up or dropping their heads. Some great passing into the goal ring and some strong leads down the court. Best players Tamara Shepherd and Tara Stewart. B Grade: Was another tough game with yet again us fron ng up with a different combina on on the court? Our fitness lets us down especially against a quick team like Pt Mac. We are nearing the end of the season, so as long as we are enjoying ourselves whilst giving it a good hard crack that's all I can ask for. Thanks to Montana and Amy for playing and Mads for si ng on the bench. Best players Chloe Newell and Skye Fox. A Reserve: Well done girls! We started off very sluggish a er the week off and let Port Mac get a 6 goal head start, but we managed to turn that around and win by 6. We all played a fantas c game and stood up when it was needed so well done. Defence ba led it out all game and were rewarded with numerous turnovers which resulted in us capitalising at the other end. Demi I rebounded strongly and fought for numerous balls to play a pivotal part in the win. Demi H and Cassie used the circle well and were both in form conver ng many opportuni es into the goals we needed. Taysha, Tamara and Shandeen worked relessly in the middle all game. Shandeen had a great game at WD driving it down court and being strong on the line as a backup. Let's use this momentum this week against the top side. A Grade: Well done ladies, super proud of the way everyone played. With all the sickness and injuries we have in the team at the moment it was great to see everyone step up and give their all and to play 4 solid quarters of netball. We have come a long way and are playing some amazing netball at the moment. Well done. Thanks to the A Res girls for helping us out, you all played well and did what was asked of you. Best players Cassie Dinnison and Carly Ploenges.
Junior 2: Last week's game was a li le clunky with so much me off, but we started to see the flow a er the first mega quarter... lol. Ariella and Willow playing defence which is not their strong posi ons but the learning was really evident the more they played. Adele and Olivia shared C and did an amazing job. Heidi and Grace shared WD and GS, it's great to see these young ones growing so much. Thanks to Harper for star ng for us, and always being available for the game if needed. Don't forget the raffle with great prizes and see you all this week. Junior 1: A er a nice couple of weeks off all the girls were happy to be back and hi ng the court. Everyone played well considering that we hadn't trained or played for a while. Passing is improving all the me and our next big thing to work on is to make space to run into. Jorja and Ma lda did an excellent job shoo ng and Ashley and Harper have both improved out of sight with their leading and catching. Looking forward to this second half of the season with these lovely girls. 13 & Under: A shaky start, but the girls persisted and came out with a comfortable win and showed improvement from the first round. Molly (Hungry Jack’s) and Zara (Baker’s Delight) played four consistent, determined quarters, well backed by the ever reliable Ma lda. Kiersten (Devine Gi s) adapted well to partnering with several different op ons in the goal circle and her work down court was impressive. Most pleasing was the defensive pressure from the girls all over the court. Thanks again to Jorja for her cheerfulness si ng bench. 15 & Under: A er 2 weeks off, it took us a li le bit of me to get our netball brains back on. We ended the game strong with our passing into the circle and pressure down the court. With our different defence combo they adjusted well with hands to ball. Our goalies shot well and combined well. Penola Recycling Depot - Chloe, Boost - Tegan. 17 & Under: With different combina ons that we tried the team se led well. The whole team stepped up in every posi on. The defence put lots of pressure causing turnovers. The a ack line fed well to one another enabling the shooters to posi on themselves to shoot well. Paradise Pizza - Ebony Wendy's - Sophie. B Reserve: A shaky start that was turned around at quarter me when player's confidence was
li ed and they started to believe in themselves. With li le training (none with a full team!) this effort shows how much more we can improve in so many departments. Jodi again showed her value to receive Terry White Chemist award and Emma M took out Alpha and Omega award. Relle received the Devine Gi s award. Birthday girl Maddy received the first half of her present! Hoping Angie and Emily will soon be back in full health, so that they can con nue their very suppor ve cheering and encouragement from the sidelines, on court. Once again it was so great to have two quality umpires officia ng a B Reserve game - thank you. B Grade: Kalangadoo come out strong in the first quarter giving them a great lead at the first break. Goalers Gina and Rhianna proved to be a problem for the defenders with accurate shoo ng supported well by Schultzy in WA and Imogen in C. Mid court of Schultzy and Imogen through to the defence of Deb, Steph and Emily combine well crea ng many turnovers. Emily, Steph and Deb made sure there was no easy pass into the a ack line and turned over anything they could. This was a great game of a team combing well and producing some quality game plays. Best: Schultzy - DK Coffee, Imo. A Reserve: We had an awesome 1st quarter a er refining our warmup and finally having all of our senior players available. Jamie, Shanen and Lucy put a phenomenal amount of pressure on the Mt Burr mid court and created lots of turnover opportuni es. Estella and Maddy found their rhythm early but were pushed all game by a tough and tall Mt Burr defence. We have plenty to work on a er a few weeks off and I'm looking forward to being tested in the coming weeks. Well done girls on a solid win. A Grade: Coming off a couple of weeks break, it was very pleasing that we were able to maintain our work rate and intensity for four quarters. Great effort defensively from Re, Lauren and George to quickly adjust and embrace changes to make a posi ve impact on the game. A ackers were relentless in their efforts which resulted in lots of scoring opportuni es. Many posi ves to take from this win as well as areas that we can all improve on. Let's reflect and work hard to ensure we are con nuing to improve our game. Awards: Georgia (Fasta Pasta) and Kori (RSL).

NETball club notes Junior 2: Brilliant game for our li le girls against a very evenly matched Glencoe team. Our defence was fantas c and everyone stayed on their player which was great to see. We just need to remember to not all chase that ball and make space. Our awards went to Shelbi and Lidia for their excep onal defence every week and especially in this game both playing GD for a half. Well done! Junior 1: Well some girls, you were amazing like always against Glencoe. A er a week off, the girls came back switched on ready to play. They tried their hardest to use lanes down the court to find space to pass into, which allowed them not to be all in one spot. The girls need to keep focusing on coming in front to the ball instead of wan ng to go over their players. They struggled to keep control of the ball at the start but a er addressing this, I could see the girls really trying to strongly catch the ball. Keep up the great work girls, you are improving so much. Pippa received an award for always pu ng so much effort into the game, ge ng loads of intercepts down the court. Kayleigh received an award for her amazing efforts down the court, both in a acking and defending. 13 & Under: Once again it was great to see our full team on the court, with a couple of players also playing in the U15's game earlier. Astyn, Alexis and Rachael worked busily in the defence circle, effec vely using set ups we have prac ced at training so the ball could move easily out of the defence third. Summah, Jaycie, Lani and Ebony were kept busy in the mid-court and it was great to see you all working to come forward to the ball. Isabel created some great leads in to the goal circle, feeding the ball in to Tamika. In the final quarter Peyton worked well at GS, providing op ons and a couple of a empts at goals. It was exci ng to see you all thinking more about your setups and play on the court, keep up the great work over these last few weeks of the season. Awards went to Isabel O'Brien (Hungry Jack’s) and Rachael Thwaites (Sportspower). 15 & Under: Again last week we only had 5 players and our 13's are really becoming a regular part of our team each week. We had a slow start to our first quarter on Saturday not being able to score. With a few changes at quarter me we were able to get the ball down to our goalies and make it a bit more of a compe ve game. It's hard to work on set ups and
NETball club notes plays down the court when we have our fill ins but you all worked really hard to get the ball into our a ack. We s ll need to work on our passing and mee ng the ball as this is usually where we lose the ball when in our possession. Keep working hard 15's and thanks again to our 13's who played again. Somerset Hotel Award went to Kaitlyn. She worked relessly all game on a tough opponent and was a good back up for her team. 17 & Under: A tough, hard fought out game that we ba led through un l the final whistle. It's so great to see you all dig deep and come together to prove to each other and yourselves how bad you want it and how much you deserve it. A fantas c team effort once again. Each week Jami and I are proud of each and every one of you and last week was no different. You li ed each quarter and got the win on the board as a team! Calm, composure, confidence. Let's not take that foot of the pedal now girlies. B Reserve: Was great to finally have a full side back on the court last week. We had a great start to the game, our intensity was fantas c and we were able to s ck with them with some great passages of play. Unfortunately we lost our momentum during the second half and our lack of fitness and posi vity let them get the lead on us. Hijisa and Emily worked hard in goals all game earning them both best players, was great to see both goalies moving together and working as a single unit a er not playing together for a while. Congratula ons to Hijisa who reached a milestone of 150 senior games for Tantanoola, here's to 150 more! Go Tiges! A Reserve: Well done girls. We played a much be er game against Glencoe this me than the first me. Everyone put in. Goalies worked well in the circle, mid court worked well and the defence worked hard. Best: Sally Peters (Chelsea Feast Make-up voucher) and Michelle Robinson (Fi h and Madison voucher). A Grade: Bad luck girls. It wasn't our day but credit to all of you who put in 100% un l the final whistle. A few different combina ons saw us all work hard to adapt but unfortunately we couldn't get momentum. We know what we need to work on so let's keep working hard and get on the winning board this week. Awards went to Madi (Heaven on a Hanger) and Casey (Fi h and Maddison).
15 & Under: A tough game but you all played a great game. Great defence work by Kyla and Hayley. When the ball was down our end Thalia shot some fantas c goals. Thank you to Rhani, Abbey and Paige for filling in for us - much appreciated. Awards: Kongorong canteen Thalia, Donut King - Holly. 17 & Under: A tough game that didn't end the way we hoped which will be making our fight for finals a lot tougher than we were hoping for. It was our own mistakes and decision making that let us down so hopefully we can knuckle down on the basics and finish off these last games with some strong wins. Best players: Evie Sealey Commercial Hotel, Jasmine McKinnon - Crave Desert Bar. B Reserve: Well done girls, we played a different team to the last me we played Robe and the young ones made us work hard for the ball. Tamika was essen al in her versa lity changing from shooter to defence. Nat, Stacey and Alisha all played hard through the centre. Macy and Le a worked hard as usual in defence. Elly shot well in the 2nd quarter and worked well with Kyla who filled in at GS while Alex was ge ng patched up. Alex played well in WD and once patched up worked well in a ack as well. Good luck against Tantanoola today girls. Awards: Tamika - Fasta Pasta, Stacey - F45, Alisha Muffin Break. B Grade: Well done girls, you played hard ll the end. We need to make sure we slow down and play our
own game. ‘Let’s work hard over the next few weeks and see if we can push into finals. F45 - Emalee Stokker, Evolve - Sarah Gardin and most drama c goes to Scout Elshaug. A Reserve: Tough game. Repeat efforts by defence to get touches and turnovers and everyone con nued to play right to the final whistle. Let’s work hard at training and let’s get a win so we can enjoy Coola in style. Best: Heidi (Lima & Co), Jessie (Fi h & Madison). A Grade: A hard fought game but we pushed it out well and were able to really match at points one of the top opposi on in the league. Our defensive pressure all over the court was great which gave our a ack plenty of opportunity, we just need to clean up and make sure we capitalise and reward. Let’s train hard and aim this week to play four consistent quarters and con nue to build our game. Best went to Riley (Vanity) and Emily (The Commercial Hotel) for both playing a ght defensive game.

NETball club notes Junior 2: Wow what a great game! Charlo e and Poppy combined well in the goal circle, finding the front posi on, and were fed well be Hadlie and Violet. Kaia, Layla, and Addison played ght defence, turning over plenty of ball. It was great to see our passing down the court was strong and accurate. Thanks to Hadlie, Addison, and Layla for filling in. Well done to Layla Schmidt on her first game of netball. Awards: Layla Schmidt (HLC), Poppy Bowering (Macca's). Junior 1: The J1 girls took a while to adjust to the defensive pressure applied by Tant. Once we got off the body and got moving, we were able to break away and find space away from our players. We were running behind at first to get the easy lob, but soon realised this wasn't going to work against taller opponents. It was great to see the girls readjust and change their game when needed. As we started to lead strongly towards the ball and added some dodges, the game began to flow. Good defensive pressure was applied all game, and, in the end, it was a convincing effort by the J1 eagles. Awards: Tilly Prouse (Macca's), Livvi Faulkner (HLC). 13 & Under: Great job girls. A strong defensive game from everyone, we turned over plenty of ball and were able to capitalise on these. Our drive and want for the ball was great to see, chasing up the loose balls and doing the one percenters. Thanks to Livvi and Tilly for si ng bench for us as back-ups. Awards: Meeka Hales (HLC), Sienna Clark (HLC). 15 & Under: A different sort of game for the girls with everyone having a crack in different posi ons. It was good to see the girls have a bit of fun but s ll have respect for their opposi on and we thank Tant for ge ng a team together a er being hit hard with injuries and illness. Liv and Deni were a bit of a surprise packet in goals, and both shot with accuracy. Hailey got a sweat up in C and Kalli looked the part at GD. Overall a good game from everyone played in good spirits. Awards: Oliva Baker (Ducky's Surf), Hailey McGrath (HLC). B Reserve: It took us half of the first quarter to get our head into the game and then we started playing good netball. We all had our 'netball brain” on and every single player had great passages of play. Paris came down from B Grade to fill in for us and fi ed in beau fully like she had been part of the team all season and together with Sarah they shot and combined really well together. Nic in WA along with Grace in C worked hard all day offering lots of drive down the court and passing the ball into the goalies spot on. Defensively Staci, Fee and Lucy worked relessly to create many turnovers and Lucy used her height to rebound strongly. Let's keep up the intensity and work hard as a team and be posi ve. Thank you to Ellie for si ng bench, Jo for scoring and Sarah for PC. Awards: Nicole Thomas (Somerset Hotel), Sarah Beare (Sassi's), Lucy Bell (HS&RC). B Grade: What a great team game
NETball club notes which was great to watch from the sidelines. We were all a tad nervous knowing that we drew with Tant last me, but the girls showed no nerves right from the first whistle to be up by 6 at quarter me. Every player played a great game and con nuing to put on court what we prac ce. Jas played a great half a game and then had to go and get dolled up for her formal! Soph took on the role in the second half and got touches everywhere with great drives down the court, Ellie had a great game in goals, and it was great to see her hi ng her straps again a er being sick. Charlie had a physical game but stood up well. Hayley played a rock-solid game at WA with the defensive end crea ng turn a er turn yet again. Meg worked hard to shut her player down while Georgia and Ella combined nicely together to get the turns. Let's enjoy a break now to work hard on the home stretch. Thank you to Sara for scoring and Linda for PC. Awards: Ellie Cook (Somerset Hotel), Sophie Gibbs (Beachport Hotel). A Reserve: With nearly a full team back on the court we were chasing a big win. We started the game on fire with our a ack line looking the goods, Olivia and Eliza working extremely well together and our defensive end unstoppable - our last line of defence in Mildred had an incredible day. Unfortunately, Oliva went down midway through the second quarter to an ankle injury, we hope she has a speedy recovery. Imogen came on and with every quarter her confidence grew to play a nice game working with Eliza in goals. We lost the 3rd quarter having a slump and started with some bad choices, our heads down at our feet, to the girls credit we picked ourselves up again and played a great rest of the last quarter. Rosie worked hard in WA with great drives and feeds while it was great to have Helen back on the court to steady the ship. Lucy made her WA work for every ball and Sarah had a great day working on her footwork to get her many turns for the game. We've got a break now to enjoy and then be ready to come out firing on our home stretch. A big thank you to Sam for scoring. Awards: Millie Smith (K&S Fuels), Rosie Ne le (Somerset Hotel). A Grade: Well, what do you say, a er leading all game we succumbed and went down by 1 a er the final whistle. We should never have been in that situa on. We had more shots, more possession but 5 minutes of mayhem at the start of the fourth cost us dearly. We knew we'd have to play 60 minutes to get over the line and unfortunately, we fell short. Tegan was once again a work horse and gave her all, Maddie P played her best game yet. I love seeing Demi striving to do what it takes to be er her game and is playing super netball. Everyone played their part in what was an intense game, but those small brain fades cost us. Hoping for a speedy recovery to Georgia and Liv, Thanks Cavvy for primary caring and Grace for scoring. Awards: Tegan Telfer (Somerset Hotel), Maddie P (Sassi), Erin Watson (HS&RC).
Junior 2: Good job team - for having two weeks off you came back and played an awesome game. You guys have improved so much, a lot of touches and a lot of turnovers. Metalworx Award went to Charlo e you kept on your player and was cheering for your teammates every me they got a turnover or a goal. Lico Pty Ltd Award went to Bailey who had great game in C, was in front and calling for the ball when she was there. Encouragement went to Holly, you have improved so much from your first game and you should be proud of yourself, got a lot of touches and your passes were spot on. Fourth went to Shelby who was calling for the ball when she was in front, got a lot of turnovers and was shoo ng well. You all should be very proud of yourself. Junior 1: Great game girls - we had lots of good passages of play but we need to remember to meet the ball and not expect it to come to us. Eddie Kuhl Tyres Award went to Hallie who was moving really well in the circle and driving well down the court. Second best went to Emma who did everything I asked her to do and had posi ve talk on the court. Good job girls. 13 & Under: 57-3. Great game girls another good win on the board. Everyone played fantas c, even though we switched posi ons constantly, we s ll adjusted really well. Dycer Construction Award went to Macy Williamson, for a ripper game in defence. She stuck to her player the whole game, chased up countless loose balls and got heaps of intercepts allowing the a ackers to score. Second best went to Violet Thorne who moved really well in the goals, combining well with Chloe and Taya. Moving out to WA, she fed seamlessly into the goalies and chased up any loose balls coming her way. Great game by everyone. 15 & Under: 49-14. We finally had our complete team last week. The girls played a se led game from the first pass. Passes were to the players and drives were med well, backing each other up and suppor ng each other as well. Maddy (Maloney Plumbing Award) was applying pressure in the goal ring and down the court offering for passes and making space. Shae (second best) played well in the centre court, pushing to get hands to the intercept and chasing the loose balls. Emma applied great pressure in defence and good strong hands for rebounds. Defence was ght and making Tantanoola shooter work hard for front posi on. Our goalies worked well, using the ring to get closer to the ring and applying pressure to turn the ball over in our a acking end. The girls played a great team game and are really star ng to gel. Well done. 17 & Under: 19-32. Fantas c effort girls. Our defensive end worked hard all game crea ng plenty of turnovers. Down our a ack end when we were pa ent with the ball, moved the ball around and used the front op on we scored with ease. We need to remember to use our fakes, step around the player when a tall player is in front of us and keep being pa ent with the ball. Caitlyn earned herself the DeGaris Lawyers award again - every week you are growing as a player, you
may be a short GK but you get your hands on so many balls and made your player earn every ball she got. Zoe J got second best - you have improved so much this season and it was great to see you taking intercepts and being an op on driving down the court and chasing loose balls. B Reserve: 55-45. A bit of an up and down game - there were a couple of rough patches in the first half but we se led in the second half and were able to create turnovers, move the ball down the court and convert. Key 2 Sale Award went to Lauren for some great movement, holding and shoo ng in the goal circle. Second best went to Ange for some consistent driving down the court. Let’s get around each other, focus on posi vity and encouragement and polishing our skills heading towards end of the season, with our aim to make finals. B Grade: 76-29. Well it nearly took us all season but it was great to finally have a full team and come away with a very convincing win. Dom (Planta on Treated Timber Award) had a fantas c game filled with many intercep ons and turnovers and was well supported by Chloe who controlled the mid court and also featured as second best. It was great to hear the posi ve talking on the court - let’s keep it up. Go Murphies! A Reserve: 65-29. Well done Abbie and Laura on your movement and accuracy, it was excellent to see your ming and wai ng for be er posi ons. Good work on focusing on your rebounding as well which you then u lised. Sam excellent work, so many touches and intercepts all game, just try and mix up your game from one on one to defending the space. Tameka good work on your hands and blocking out, just need to focus more on moving your feet and ge ng around in front of the player. Alyce and Zoe excellent work each week you are both ge ng be er at reading off each other and working your 45's on the circle, excellent feeding and driving down the court and onto the circle. Sam earnt the B&P Travel & Cruise Award with Abbie second best - well done to both of you. A Grade: 72-45. Great game girls! I was super proud of the way everyone pushed in that first quarter. We all came out with a winning mentality and played at a high intensity which really set us up for the en re match. It is fantas c to see everything that we are working on at training falling into place on game day. Great job everyone - we played a strong team game. Good movement in the goal circle by Malinda and Jenna, you both con nued to come front and the double plays were working really well. Good defensive pressure by Chantelle and Chloe, its great to see you both contes ng ball and working hard to block your players. Congratula ons to Ashlea (O'Brien Electrical Award) on playing your 250th game for the club. You had a fantas c game driving strong onto circle edge and con nuing to u lise your super fakes! Second best went to Donna (Commercial Hotel) for another strong game through the middle and controlling the a acking end. Let’s con nue this form today and come out strong from the first whistle.
ROUND 14 A GRADE NETBALL REVIEW Glencoe 72 def Tantanoola 45 Glencoe took on Tantanoola in a top four clash. The Murphies took the first centre pass and were confronted with Tant defenders confusing the space, which forced an early turnover. This set up Tant to score the first two goals of the game before Glencoe hit the scoreboard. Glencoe then switched on with Donna Jaeschke taking control through the midcourt, to set up easy access to her goalies from circle edge. Tight defensive pressure from Chloe Pfitzner and Sarah Edwards down court created a flurry of intercepts and touches to fall the way of the Murphies and forced the Tiger a ackers to work hard to gain any ground. Emma Gould was the focal point of the Tigers a ack line and her ba le with Chantelle Cocks was highly contested. The firing defensive pressure from the Glencoe side set them up with a 9 goal advantage heading into the first break. The Tigers then re-jigged their en re a acking line in an a empt to disrupt the tone the Murphies had set in the opening quarter. Gould came out to GA, moving Jamie Walker back to GS and Casey Walker took the C bib to allow Madi Kelly to se le at WA. These changes had an immediate impact on the game, with the safe hands of C Walker through the middle providing a steadier entry into their a acking circle and the posi onal switch of Gould and J Walker created a mismatch on the Glencoe defenders and allowed them easier access to the post. Meanwhile Glencoe's goalie combina on of Malinda Markiewicz and Jenna Paproth were forced to work harder to gain scoring opportuni es as the reach of Tant's Tayla Rowe became a factor in the game. Tant reduced their deficit to 7 goals at the main break. The Tigers entered the second half with more changes with Kate Bromley and Rowe swapping defensive bibs. Glencoe came out of the break with a li ed intensity in the premiership quarter. Ashlea Edwards con nued to drive strongly onto circle edge and fed with precision to the Glencoe goalies despite the close a en on from Kristy Varcoe. The Murphies defensive duo of S Edwards and Cocks found their feet again, shu ng down any space in the Tigers goal circle and ge ng plenty of hand to ball. At the other end Glencoe's Markiewicz used her speed to find front space and finished with accuracy, ne ng 16 of 17 a empts for the quarter. Tant's Varcoe went down with a serious injury towards the backend of the quarter which forced her from the court. Youngster Ebony Cytrowski entered the game at WD. A commanding quarter from the Murphies showed on the scoreboard, with the home side scoring 21 goals to Tant's 9. The Murphies entered the final quarter making no changes to their on-song team. While Tant again made changes, with both duos of Rowe and Bromley and J Walker and Gould returning to their more familiar posi ons. Glencoe con nued to push the Tigers with their full court defensive pressure not allowing them an inch. A sore Gould exited the court early in the final quarter resul ng in the inclusion of another Tant young gun in Bella Poulish at GS. Glencoe's sister trio of S Edwards, Jaeschke and A Edwards were able to link up and transi on the ball seamlessly from defence to a ack and then find Paproth with ease as she drove hard to the post. The four-quarter pressure and high intensity applied by the Glencoe side was too much for the Tigers with the final score 72 to 45. Best players - Glencoe: Ashlea Edwards, Donna Jaeschke; Tantanoola: Casey Walker, Madison Kelly.
Kalangadoo 43 def Mt Burr 37 Both teams started the game strongly with pressure and high work rate from all players. Early in the quarter Mt Burr's circle defenders Olivia Dean and Madi Hagge combined effec vely to force Kalangadoo goalies Abbey Duncan and Kori Collins to word hard to find space. Mt Burr's Laura Schultz made her mark on the game, reading the play well and feeding her goalies accurately. Both teams entered the first quarter with 11 goals each. During the second quarter Kalangadoo's youngster Georgia Gen le provided a ght tussle against Mt
Burr's wing a ack Simone Westerman. Mt Burr's goal shooter Ebony Clark had a solid quarter missing only two goals from eleven a empts, to help Mt Burr go into the main break 22 goals to Kalangadoo 21. Mt Burr brought fresh legs on during the break with the addi on of Leila Buhlmann to goal a ack and Kalangadoo also used the opportunity to make some defensive switches, moving Gen le into the defensive circle. These changes prompted Kalangadoo's defenders to step up their intensity, forcing errors from Mt Burr's a ack to help Kalangadoo turn around the margin to lead 34 goals to 29 at the third quarter break. Mt Burr made changes going into the final quarter bringing Zoe Brown back on to goal a ack to replace Buhlmann and switched the wings. The quarter con nued at a high intensity with Mt Burr's Schultz and Maddie Gamble finding space and were able to feed their goalies with precision. Madi Hagge con nued to work hard on Kalangadoo's Abbey Duncan who was posi oning well for her feeders and combined well with Collins to convert accurately. With Kalangadoo's defensive pressure and experience they were able to extend the lead out to six at the final whistle. Best players - Kalangadoo: Georgia Gen le, Kori Collins; Mt Burr: Madi Hagge , Oliva Dean.
Kongorong 31 lost to Robe 57 Round 14 at Kongorong saw the quality side of Robe take on the young Hawks at home in solid condi ons. The Roosters got off to a great start, turning over the Hawks' first centre and shoo ng the first couple goals unanswered. Ellen Ramke for Robe was on from the second the first whistle blew, working hard in the circle applying pressure down the Hawks end of the court. While down the other end of the court, the Hawks defensive line of Riley Buckingham, Emily Lightbody and Sarah Lucas took a while to adjust to the Roosters' quick ball movement, but eventually se led into the quarter and were able to curb some of Robe's momentum late in the quarter. With the Hawks slightly unse led in the first quarter, the Roosters were able to capitalise well thanks to Georgia Perkins and Sarah Laurie's accuracy in the circle, giving them an 8 goal lead heading into the first break. The second quarter seen the defensive line-ups for both teams have a real good crack across the court. Perkins for the Roosters and Buckingham for the Hawks ba led hard in the circle, both at mes being influen al for their respec ve sides through the second term. The Hawks se led up in the second quarter, with Evie Sealey and Tilah Buckingham able to look a er the ball with some accurate feeding from Kate Wright and Rach Perry, rewarding their side's defensive efforts. Lucy Perkins and Annie Hunter however turned it up another gear, where their experience showed, and the Roosters remained composed and displayed pa ence and skill through their mid court and were able to push their lead out a further 4 at half me with Robe 27 to Kongorong 15. The Hawks went into the third quarter with work to do, and to do so made some changes bringing Emily Lightbody into GK adding some height into the circle and Lyl Page with fresh legs into WD. Lightbody's height proved crucial as she was able to get her hands to any rebounds and Buckingham li ed her work rate and started to see some reward from her pressure in the first half. Down the other end of the court the Roosters defenders were also finding their groove with Ramke and Emma Grant finding hands all over the court and capitalising on any missed shots by the Hawks. This quarter saw Sarah Laurie the focal point for Robe as she shot 11 out of 13 goals for the term, leading the Roosters to outscore the Hawks 14 to 5 as they worked the ball down the court fast and with accuracy. Both teams con nued to fight hard defensively up either end to run out the game. The game saw Buckingham's pressure progressively build and well supported by Lightbody down the defensive end for Kongorong whilst Ramke and Grant up the other end both didn't ease up pace, capitalising on any
errors and transi oning the ball down the court with speed. Despite the young Hawks improving game and a empts to limit the damage on the scoreboard, Robe were the more polished side and were able to maintain possession of the ball and play with speed and accuracy which ul mately saw them run away with the game. Best players - Kongorong: Riley Buckingham, Emily Lightbody; Robe: Lucy Perkins, Ellen Ramke.
Pt MacDonnell 57 def Nangwarry 40 Port MacDonnell faced Nangwarry on home turf on Saturday. Nangwarry has suffered many misfortunes this season in losing two key players to injury. Port MacDonnell, missing three players took the opportunity to use three of their own up and coming Under 17s players. The game began ght with both teams figh ng for all opportuni es at the ball. Port Mac Under 17 Lara Wilson thrived under the guidance of experienced goalie Toni Gilmore and gained many opportuni es at goal. In the absence of playing coach Narelle Lewis, Port Mac goalies were strongly supported by Jess Lynch who showed strong leads and consistent feeding into the goalies. Nangwarry goalies Ange Pra and Cassie Dinnison worked well together, but the defensive pressure of Port Mac's Belinda O'Dine and Alana Winter challenged them. Saints' Kylie Heaver was pivotal in the a ack line and worked to feed into the goalies, despite the immense pressure from Under 17 Kate Winterfield who played her first A Grade game on Saturday. Port Mac were able to gain the turnovers in the first quarter and led by 4 at quarter me. The second quarter saw Port Mac make the wise move of pu ng Gilmore back into GS and bringing Wilson out to GA. Nangwarry's Carly Ploenges and Jemma Parsons were consistent and played hard, ght netball in their defensive ring. But with limited rebound opportuni es, they struggled to find turnovers. Dinnison had her eye in and didn't miss for the quarter. Port Mac defensive combo Winter and O'Dine were ght and took any possible opportuni es at the ball. Through the middle, Saint Hayley Burner fought on Brooke Williams and the two showed great tussle. Both players were consistent and played the game in great spirit. Port Mac con nued to build on their lead, holding in front by 7 at half me. A few half- me changes for both sides meant each team had to adjust. Port Mac Under 17 Arriella Smith took over from Winterfield in the wing defence posi on; Nangwarry's defence decided it was me for a swap, bringing young Parsons out into goal defence and pu ng Ploenges back into keeper. Nangwarry's Dinnison and Pra became frustrated with the defensive pressure being applied, causing Dinnison to miss a few crucial goals. Port Mac u lised all rebounding opportuni es which helped them to increase their lead. Port Mac's a ack line was consistent throughout the game, although the Saints' defensive swap did help them a bit as Ploenges was able to ghten up on Gilmore and control her game. Nangwarry defenders were strongly supported by Taysha Marshall who worked to cut Lynch's drive. Nangwarry began to re, and the Demons took advantage of this. Port Mac led by 11 at three quarter me. Port Mac pushed out the final quarter looking to increase their lead and gain percentage. Nangwarry focussed on their own game and tried to create turnovers where they could. Young Demon Wilson played an amazing game, and she took over the shoo ng in the final quarter. Lynch and Williams' feeding was great assistance. Dinnison, in her second game for the day, began to re and O'Dine took advantage of this, gaining a few intercepts in the final term. Overall, the demons played higher skilled netball and ul mately won the game. Port Mac won by 17. Best players - Port Mac: Lara Wilson, Brooke Williams; Nangwarry: Cassie Dinnison, Carly Ploenges.
