Last week we travelled to Nangwarry for the opening of their clubrooms. A er the hardship of the last few years, it's good to see they've got somewhere to have teas and socialise as a community. I haven't seen a crowd that big at Nangwarry since the 90's and it was great to see so many people in the new clubrooms a er the game. O'Brien's Electrical have all your electrical needs if you're ever a er a decent PA system. We came away from the day with 3 out 4 wins from the football field in what was not our best day. Junior Colts: Pricey has the Junior Colts absolutely firing. They'll be looking for a deep September run at the rate they are travelling and have put up 3 excellent winning performances so far with wins of 125, 39 and 69 points to sit at the top of the ladder a er 3 rounds of footy. They play very unselfish, and team orientated footy with lots of numbers and hard running players. If you haven't got the chance yet, get yourself out early to watch these kids play as they are our best chance to win finals this year, but also the future of our great club and deserve as much support as possible. They faced an improving Nangwarry team last week and came away with a good win. This week will be the real test for them against an always strong Robe Junior Colts. Best players were Lachlan Brierley, Daniel Ferguson, Kallan Price, Hamish Gordon and Kade Mulraney. Senior Colts: Pie was away again last week so Will Maloney took the coaching role of the Senior Colts, he was helped by Luke Rothall and what seemed to be about 15 other blokes. I think we had more coaches than players. Both teams were quite short with players (9v5 roughly) so it was basically a re-match of the Junior Colts. Wise heads could have prevailed and just let the Senior Colts join in with early game and then push the start me back so we could all get a sleep in. We gave a few of our players to Nangwarry to get a fair contest and in the end, we came out on top with a 64-point win. This was the Senior Colts’ first win of the season and they have all shown great improvement in what is a very inexperienced side. Well done to you and keep working hard and these wins will con nue if you keep working hard and playing for each other. Best players were Aidan Hurley (6 goals), Tighe Hurley, Lachlan Brierley, Brodie Pfitzner, Digby Richards-Fennell and Samuel Haase. Reserves: Nathan is remembering what it's like to have the hardest job in the club, the Reserves coach. Last week we were hit hard with player unavailability. Around 15 blokes were out, and we keep seeing the rota ons coming in and out of the Reserves side each week so far this year. Thanks to the colts who have stepped up and played 2 games each week to help out as we've been so short. Thanks also to Tory Weaver who played both A Grade and B Grade last week just to help numbers out. I'm sure he would have been feeling sore on Sunday. I'm confident that once the Reserves get all their players back, they

will be pushing for a finals posi on, but thanks to the issues we had last weekend we were far from our best. It meant that we went down by 49-points in what was a disappoin ng result, but one that we shouldn't dwell on as we know that's not the football we will serve up for the rest of the year. We faced a very pumped-up Nangwarry side due to their reunions and club opening so we got very unlucky last week. A be er effort will be needed over the next few weeks to catch up with the pack now. Hopefully the squad are all looking a er their bodies and making themselves available every week. Best players were Trent Hawke (first game of the year), Lachlan Hoch, Dillan Young and Shannon Megaw. A Grade: The A Grade came into this game with pressure from all the league and opposi on. We were expected to lose, and everyone thought we were going to give Nangwarry their first win in 8 years. Thanks to 10 first choice players being out it made the game a lot tougher than it should have been. Toppled with Nangwarry being amped up for their reunion day and I'm certain Freddie Smith was there hoping to see us lose. We started the first quarter in the worst possible fashion with 2 of our players being yellow carded. These undisciplined acts meant we had to account for 2 spare players on the field. Our players let this get under their skin and the free kick count in the first quarter was 17-2 against us. This is something we need to work on as we control our own fate. A er a bit of me, we actually played be er being down 2 men and managed to get back to within 5 points at the first break a er being down 3 goals at one stage. It was then a bit of an arm-wrestle for a quarter and a half before we finally played some good footy in the third and kicked 4 unanswered goals. In the last we had a lot of players go down with injury who struggled to play out the game and this made us short on the bench. Even though we had players out and some on field decisions that didn't go our way, it was one of our worst performances I've seen for a while. We've got a bit of work to do, and blokes need to make sure they are doing the right thing by their bodies and thinking of the team. Best players were Patrick Mitchell, Dylan Pfitzner, Brodie Glynn, Isaac Mulraney and Tom Edwards. We will have a great test this week against Robe. Please don't forget to check the canteen roster for our home games and organise a swap if you can't do it. Also, coming up soon is our Rump & Red night on Saturday May 7th at the RSL. Formal a re, $35 per person. Looking to be a great night for all. Let Donna or Sarah know Saturday if you're interested. Finally, a big congratula ons to Alex Hentschke and Chloe Watson for their wedding last week. They had fabulous weather for it, and I hear it was an excellent day. Wishing you a happy life together from all at the club. Go Glencoe!

Junior Colts: Last week we took on the talented Hatherleigh side on our home deck. As per normal, long weekends mixed with school holidays saw both teams shy of a few numbers in the early game. We started the game as well as I have seen in a long while kicking 4 goals to nil in the opening term. This was largely thanks to our two captains Charles and Archie who had the ball moving our way and were able to push forward from the midfield and hit the scoreboard themselves. I’m not sure what happened at quarter me but the next three quarters were some of the scrappiest footy I have seen us play. It was like we thought the lead we had in the opening term was going to be enough to hold onto. This was certainly not the case and to Hatherleigh’s credit they fought back hard kicking the next couple of goals. Some good efforts by our backline, in par cular Connor and Jayson meant that we were s ll in front going into the last quarter. The last term was a grind with neither team being able to break free. We managed to hold on to a less than convincing win by 4 goals. We s ll have a lot of improvement to do and that will start on Thursday at training. We now look forward to playing the in-form Glencoe team this week and we are up for the challenge. Thanks, Jack B Grade: Last week we took on Hatherleigh at home for the ANZAC Round. We played well only going down by 7pts. Our kicking efficiency let us down in front of goals but overall a great effort by the boys. Hoping to see some out on the track at training. Best for the day was Kane Cross, Tristan Chincarini, Jed Regnier, Paddy Ma hews and Josh Wilson recieved the Sails voucher. This week we are away and take on Glencoe.

A Grade: Last week, was like no other, it had the extra atmosphere that goes along with ANZAC Day round with plenty to play for. We played our closest town rivals, Hatherleigh for another close clash. A er a close win the week before against Tantanoola we were looking to assert ourselves against the top placed Eagles. We emphasised earlier in the week just how much this game meant to the town and veterans, who would present each A Grade player with a Robe to Recovery cap. The sun was shining and the stage was set for a cracker. With a slight breeze favouring one end, Hatherleigh won the toss and went with it to start with. Hatherleigh got the jump on us early with a few of their key players taking control. We went into the quarter me break down by 3 goals. The hardfought ba le con nued with both teams aiming to take the game on. We piled on 4 goals of our own but we couldn't peg back the deficit with Hatherleigh kicking 4 of their own. A er half me, the Eagles came out firing, kicking another 5 goals to our 2. This increased the deficit. The Robe lads con nued to play gallantly and didn't at any stage give up. Jasper Barri provided plenty of intercept marks and applied tackling pressure catching a number of Eagles off guard. Samuel Clements had the ball on a string with his clean hands and effec ve disposals. Unfortunately, we went down by 44 points at the final siren and Jed Telfer taking home BOG honours and the ANZAC Day medal. Jed was able to find plenty of space and was hard to tackle. With plenty of posi ves and plenty more things to work on, we will be back stronger and more damaging for the Glencoe game this week. See you there Rooster fans!

Today we welcome the Returned & Services League, as we take the me to pay our respects to our fallen soldiers, and acknowledge the sacrifices our Defence Forces, both past and present, make for our Country. At the conclusion of the A Grade, we will award the 'John Rogers Medal', in memory of one of our own. Lest We Forget. Last week we took on the Mozzies on their home ground. A special men on to all those that stepped up and took on different roles throughout the day, in the absence of others due to iso. As a club we have such a strong band of volunteers that are happy to help out when called upon, it certainly takes the pressure off, and is appreciated. Under 11: No under 11's, which gave a few the opportunity to step up into Junior Colts. Junior Colts: A er a week off for Easter, the days leading up to the game against the Burr were spent chasing players, as was turning out we had 11 out and s ll needing to loan 4-5 across to the Burr to make up a game. We got there in the end, all be it late Friday, and allowed us to welcome a couple of lads for their first run up in Junior Colts. Connor Gordon and Zac Angelino, who mind you managed to slot a goal through while playing across, will no doubt benefit from the experience. To all the lads who spent me across for Mt Burr, a massive thank you from myself, the club and Mt Burr as without loaning players we wouldn't have had a game. Best players again were hard to choose, as everyone on the ground could have received something. Best on ground and the Rarcoola Structural Award went to Ryan Angelino with 7 goals before ge ng a run up the ground in the second half. Declan Richardson run all day in the middle received the Rocks Shop Award. Harrison Elletson 3rd best, run hard in the middle and finished up with 4 goals late and received the Spot On Fishing Award. Mick Mullan Award went to Ryan Lucas who con nues to show plenty of run in numerous posi ons. Coaches Award went to Rhys Newton who in his 1st game for the year showed plenty of run and carry through the spaces. Rounding out the best players, Blake Telford who managed to ruck most of the day received the Janeway Plumbing Award. Looking forward to welcoming back most players as we look to take on Nangwarry with a near full strength line up for the 1st me this year. Go Hawks! Senior Colts: Another fantas c win, in an all-team effort. Mackye Baron has se led in well to his new home at the Hawks, pu ng on another great display of football, to be awarded best on the day. The ever-consistent Tyler Richardson named second best and Mav

Cooper together with Campbell Graney filled third and fourth best. Tommy Bellinger booted four for the day, to be named fi h best. Let's keep up the momentum, put in the effort at training, back each other in, and the rewards will con nue to come. Thanks to Chrissy for filling-in as team manager. Reserves: Nice to be back on the winners list as we returned from Easter. With so many changes from week to week, we are s ll working on se ling everyone's posi ons, but it's really pleasing the way the boys are pu ng the team first and playing where they are needed. We controlled the game from the start and moved the ball well. This allowed our forwards to get on the end of some quick movements and be one on one. Everyone contributed to a good win, and we look forward to taking on an in-form Nangwarry this week. Jack Mullan played an excellent game in the midfield to be best. Ma Maidment worked relessly to be named second. Bohdi Pannenburg was strong up forward and in the ruck for third, the new boots working wonders. Riley Maconachie set up our forward thrusts all day to get fourth, and John Simkin was his usual brilliant self to kick five and hand off another five at least to be fi h best. Seniors: With a few late changes and welcoming several back a er the Easter break the group were buoyed by the opportunity of taking on the Burr at their home ground. We managed to get out of the blocks early and with some straight kicking saw us take a lead in at quarter me. The game started ghtening up as 2nd went on but again straight kicking keeping us in the running. The 2nd half proved to more challenging as the Burr li ed their intensity around the contest, while we lost some structure around the ground. At 3/4 me the game was there for the taking for both sides but unfortunately, they managed to get a run on at the start of the last and put the game out of reach. The guys never quit, and ba led hard for the 4 qtrs. Best players went to Elliot Modra, Cam Sandercock was on fire in front of goals kicking 9, Nugget (Brayden Leicester), Jake Whi y and Tyson Modra rounded out the best on the day. ANZAC week is always a special week, as we look to ba le it out against the Saints back on our home deck, with the John Rogers Medal to play for. Tonight, a er meals, will see the season wind-up and presenta ons for our U16 girl's premiership football team and our senior women's football team. Be sure to s ck around and celebrate the past season with them!

Our first home game for season 2022 and what a day it was, the weather gods certainly looked out for us on opening day of our new clubhouse. With a large crowd and the Phil Muhovics trophy up for grabs the crowd was hoping for a great game to watch and they were not disappointed. The A Grade side, whilst they didn't end up with the 4 points, they showed they were well on the way to winning a game. Congratula ons to the B Grade boys for ge ng the job done. A big shout out to Aidan Mills and his commi ee who over the last 3 years have poured a lot of blood, sweat and tears into the rebuild, you did a bloody great job. The place was perfect. Thank you to everyone who played a part in Saturday from working on the gate, selling raffle ckets, working in the canteen or bar, cooking and serving or even game day du es you are all appreciated and if it was not for you guys we would not have a club. This week's sponsors are GT Industrial and Richard’s Crash Repairs, both are silver sponsors and have been with us for a while now. Thank you for your ongoing support it is much appreciated. GT Industrial Sales is the tradesman's choice supplier of high quality industrial hardware and engineering products with reliable onsite service solu ons to industry and the general public in the Green Triangle region. Richard’s Crash Repairs 08 8725 8820 give them a call. Under 11: Well done to our under 11s again. Played some really good footy, few goals to celebrate and most importantly worked well as a team! Junior Colts: Our first home game of the year and we came up against a very good Glencoe side. Our boys ba led hard all day and never gave up. Reward for the effort came in the last quarter where we were able to get on the scoreboard. Thanks to Glencoe for

the loan of a few players each quarter. Be er players for the day were Calais and Tayte who consistently ba le in the midfield every week, Josh who we welcomed back into the side and used his skill around the footy. Benne gave his usual run and speed, our backline general Wya and Harvey in the middle. Some things to work on at training so let's get numbers out there this week ready to get back on the winners list. Thanks again to all the game volunteers and the supporters who come out early each week to watch our young Saints. Senior Colts: A er a fairly even first quarter which showed some promising signs a er young Tayte kicked the first goal in which was some pre y perfect tap from the centre Nangwarry looked very compe ve. However Glencoe picked up the pace and our boys ended up trying to play catch up footy. Captain Ty Dinnison led from the front all day, young Archer used his skill to bring the ball forward giving Noah a few goals. Keep working lads and hopefully we can be compe ve for 4 quarters. B Grade: What a great day for the Saints B Grade. The whole side played 4 fantas c quarters, the back 6 played there “guts” out. Congratula ons to Jayden Moore on playing his first game. Next game against Kongorong will be a good test for us. Best: Blake, Schmi , Hoody, Donny, Craig, Sco . Goals: Craig 4, Josh 2. A Grade: Once again another game which was so close but yet so far to our first win. There are huge signs of improvement within our group and week by week we are ge ng be er. It was an exci ng week for the club with our clubrooms being finished and playing for the Phil Muhovics Cup, it's good to finally have the facili es up and running, thanks for the Glencoe people who came into the club a er and supported us. Well done to the Reserves boys and coach Butch for ge ng another win. Cheers LT

Junior Colts: Unfortunately last week I couldn’t be there due to Covid but I’d like to thank everyone who stepped up and helped myself and the kids out to make sure they got a game. A big thank you to Graham and the Kongorong boys for filling in for us and giving it a red hot go, also to Spoggy and the Tant boys who filled in for us. It’s great to see other clubs helping each other out and we really appreciate it. To our boys I’m sure you all gave it your best like you do each week and I heard lots of good comments on the way you guys went about it. Best for us was Charlie Bevan, Deklan Brant, Eli Bowman, Reed Gardner, Jordan Burchell and Finn Woolston. Unfortunately we didn’t get the result we wanted but keep your head up boys and keep giving it your best like you have been and that will change. Cheers Tom Senior Colts: Last Saturday we came up against a very hard running Kongorong side but to the boys’ credit stayed with them for three quarters then had a lapse in the last which allowed them to over run us. With some hard work another win will hopefully not be too far away. Best players were Bradlee Lawson showing a lot of class and skill, Cohen Montuori running hard and a acking the ball, Brock Sandow solid in defence, Trey Norton Li le ran all day, Callum Sparkes rucked relessly all day and is really leading from the front, and Ryan long showed glimpses and is a good target up forward. Best of luck to all footy and ne y teams today. B Grade: With so many players out last week, we did well to 2nd qtr

field a team against a strong Kongorong side. Special thanks to senior colts Trey and Brock for playing back to back games on the day and helping us out. Well done also to Jayden Poulish for making his senior debut. I was very proud of the effort the players put in throughout the four quarters and the perseverance they displayed. When we get a few players back over the coming weeks, we will start being more compe ve on the scoreboard. Best players for the day were Noah Telfer in the ruck, Braeden Thwaites, Mark Teagle and Jeebs. Thanks again to everyone that took on a role and helped out. A Grade: Nothing in football comes easy and a er a back and forth game against Kongorong last round we were certainly made to work hard for our first win. Loved the way our guys were able to finish off in the last quarter, with Papa Swag able to help Big Smoothie find the goals as he delivered it closer and closer to the line. Not sure how many Swag ended up with, some say 7, some 9 - may have even reached double digits if you were in the car with him on Monday. Bit of a cliché; but there really were 21 contributors vs Kongorong. A move in the right direc on a er some hot and cold performances in Round 1 and 2. Best players were Sammy Wallis, Swag Gregory, Captain Fiebs, Rooster Gamble, Wilbur Bowering and Hammer Smith. Consistency is what we’re a er now and we look forward to this week’s challenge against last year’s premiers Pt Mac. Go Burr! 4th qtr

B Grade: A er a 2 week break we headed down to Kalangadoo for round 3. Unfortunately in the 2 weeks the playing stocks took a further hit, with the A Grade taking a hit for various reasons and this le coach Donovan spending more me on the phone recrui ng than planning for the upcoming game. This week search turned up a few old legends (well that was what they say in the shed 10 beers deep) with Adam Lewis, Steve Lewis and Shane Grosvenor all dus ng off the boots for another comeback. A recently re red player in Ben McGregor who managed exactly 1 game in re rement, combined this with 5 colts and 2 new faces a team was taken to the field. The game was a tough one, we were outclassed by a much be er side who looked sharp. All the boys put in a super effort and never gave up un l the final siren, a big thank you to everyone who filled in and to the colts that stepped up. Also a big thank you to the Kalangadoo Football Club for there help leading up to the game when we were struggling to fill the side were more than accommoda ng and allowing us to play with the minimum players. Best for the week Ryan Von Stanke, Michael Burkinshaw, Chris Driver, Ben McGregor and Dylan Lewis who has stepped up from the colts and played a game with his dad Steve. Let’s hope for a be er week on the recrui ng track, as we head to Mt Burr for the next game.
replay on a picture perfect autumn day. Unfortunately there had been dark clouds over the team selec on during the week with new normal Covid 19 raising its head in the player group, not to men on normal injuries. With a few coming up from the reserves, the best possible team was sent out to take on a strong Kalangadoo side that looked eager to have redemp on from the grand final last year. Redemp on is what they got, in a very polished display Kalangadoo and were far too strong. The effort from our boys was excellent and even though the scoreboard didn't reflect it there was some excellent passages of play, that will give everyone confidence going forward. Best for the week was Tim Sullivan, Zack Williams, Mark Smith, Kyall McClean, Wade Chant and Lockie Tilley.

A Grade: We headed down to Robe last week for a huge ANZAC round clash. Knowing we haven't won down there for a few years we were really determined to get a good start and the boys didn't disappoint. A good tough and high intensity game saw us have to work hard to win the footy and through hard work we were winning the football first and went into the main break 3 goals up. Robe con nued to put on the pressure but our boys handled it well and kept our momentum going and finished off with a good 7 goal win, it was a well fought four quarter effort that produced the win. Up forward Jake Wight con nued his good form with 5 goals while Darcy Bateman was a solid target on the half forward line. Jase Faulkner was winning the footy out of the middle for us and never lost a 50/50 while Jed Telfer provided plenty of forward a acks from half back with a best on ground performance. This week we are back at home taking on Tantanoola. Go Eagles! B Grade: Firstly I'd like to thank Robe for pu ng on a great day again. We made our way down to cheese and wine country with 12 blokes out of the side and a big test on our hands, credit to our boys who grounded out a tough 7 point win in not the best reserves football you will see. Special men on to the 3 Senior Colt boys for stepping up and playing their roles! Best on ground went to farmer wants a wife (Aultshy), second best was li le Eatswa Bowman. Third best went to a bloke that gave us plenty of drive out of the middle and got us back in the game, Ryno. 4th best was Benny Leopold and 5th young S x Leopold who ba led all day in the ruck a er playing 17s. Senior Colts: A er the week off for Easter we headed down to take on Robe at Robe. Spirits were up and the boys were excited to play on the ANZAC Day clash against the reigning premiers. The first quarter we started off well holding robe to one goal whilst boo ng a couple of our own. Our back line started off

really well with Danny and Jack running straight lines at the footy and rebounding most of everything that came in. Star ng the second quarter off Robe came out strong and kicked the first goal. The boys quickly responded and got a couple back. The rest of the game played out not in our favour as Robe showed they’re the team that is going to set the margin. In the end, we found a lot of posi ves to take away but also discovered some things to work on throughout this next week before we head back home and take on the Tigers. Best on ground for the day was Je Faulkner, with his skill and speed coming off the half back. Second was Danny Golding rebounding down back and holding down the back line. Third was Jack Cassidy in the backline as well. Other players who played well were Bailey Linder and Blake Werchon. Junior Colts: Last week we had our first loss of the season against Robe. A slow start for us saw Robe come out and kick the first few goals of the game which put us on the back foot early. We were compe ve in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters hi ng the scoreboard but with Robe's good start it was a li le too much for our team to get back. I am very happy with the effort they put in un l the end, with a few of our top age players out it was a good chance for others to play some new posi ons. Campbell Leopold played out the game in the ruck doing a great job with a young midfield in Ned Fits, Tom Bowering and Riley Haines who all did an excep onal job. Hudson Nowak was reliable down back rebounding the ball for us, Hannah and Chloe Bellinger had another great game in and under winning the ball. With players missing due to Covid and holidays is was also a great opportunity to give some under 11's a taste of Junior Colts footy! Thank you to Mazi Hales, Paddy Fitzgerald and Billy Bowering, you boys certainly look ready! Congratula ons to Mazi Hales on also kicking his first goal!

Our backline were under the pump from the get go and wasn't un l the last quarter that our midfield switched on, started manning up and started winning their own football, which resulted in us out scoring Robe in the last quarter! Now just to bring that intensity for four quarters. Best players Eli Bowman, Evan Jazepczyk, Josh Vanderhorst, Ethan Hales, Kobe Bromley, and Jake Bevan. Senior Colts: G'day all, a er skipping round one due to the spicy flu - not a decision made lightly by the way but the welfare of our players is at the forefront of our minds, we hosted Robe at Tiger land with the bare minimum of players with an understanding that at this age group it's becoming more and more difficult to field a team. A good conversa on with Sammy Huebner (Robe coach) and realising the importance of development a great game of footy was played. Thanks Sam! Well done to all the young men that put on the Tiger guernsey
and ba led your heart out for our wonderful club. Be er players were Ellis, Ryan, Corey, Sam. Keep ya heads up men. Reserves: Hi everyone, second round against Robe at home with some players returning. Could not be happier with boys in the first quarter with incredible tenacity and want for the ball. As the game wore on, the tanks were empty and unfortunately Robe pushed through and we went down considerably. 2 new players to the club kicking their first senior goals with Tyson Holden and Brad Williams. Corey Barret came down from A Grade to stretch his legs and had a fantas c game deserving himself best on ground. The other best players were Jake Bromley, Aaron Trowbridge, Marky Bell and young Brad Williams. A Grade: G'day everyone, last match we took on Robe for their first hit out of the year on our home deck. We came out knowing that Robe would be raring to go a er having the bye for the first round. The Tant boys came out aggressive and held strong to take the lead at half me. A er losing captain Brandon Pi s and a couple players we knew we had a big fight ahead coming into the last quarter with no bench. Robe weren't going away and to the Tantanoola boys credit neither were they. A er exchanging a few goals Robe went home with the choccies but as a senior coach I was very pleased with the amount of heart and will shown by my side Saturday. Best in no order were Troy and Jordan Ha , Ellis Cushion, Jack Dawe and Hayden Brown.

ROUND 4 A GRADE NETBALL PREVIEW GLENCOE v ROBE Glencoe host the Roosters in what is set to be the match of the round with both teams coming off wins. There are great matchups all across the court in par cular the midcourt ba le between Donna Jaeschke and Annie Hunter and in the goal circle between Tori Gluyas and Sarah Edwards. Mid court turnovers will be the deciding factor as all four goalies are accurate and neither of the defensive ends will give an inch. Jenna Paproth and Chantelle Cocks are a formidable goalie combina on, and their experience may prove too much for Robe's Ellen Ramke and Alannah Jennings. A er a tough four quarters Robe should come out on top.
KONGORONG v NANGWARRY With both sides looking to put their first win on the board, Kongorong will take on Nangwarry at home. Hayley Burner and Shannon Higgins from Nangwarry will put the pressure on Kongorong's goalies Tilah Buckingham and Megan Bowering.
The strong drive from Burner out of defence will help Nangwarry to bring the ball down the court, with Kylie Heaver feeding into the goalies. Riley Buckingham's pressure in and around the goal will create difficul es for Nangwarry's midcourt. In a ght contest either team has the ability and poten al to gain the points.
MOUNT BURR v PORT MACDONNELL Mount Burr will look to boost their percentage this week when they take on the Demons at home due to a fixture change. Madi Hagget and Olivia Dean despite their young age are showing maturity in the defensive end for Mount Burr. Megan Hein and Alana Winter will have to curb the influence of Ebony Clark in the circle whilst also limi ng Zoe Brown's op ons to shoot. Laura Schultz's drive down the court and ability to feed to her goalies is an asset to the Mozzies. Mount Burr will be looking to cement their posi on in the top four.
TANTANOOLA v HATHERLEIGH Tantanoola will be well rested a er two weeks off and be ready to come out firing against Hatherleigh on the weekend. Hatherleigh will need to put their best defenders on the court against Tant's Emma Gould and Jami Walker, who combine well together in the circle. Hatherleigh are s ll struggling to se le their line-up while Tantanoola's side has remained mostly unchanged since 2021. Hatherleigh are s ll working on goal combina ons and any of the following could line up in the circle, Maddie Redman, Demi Vanderhorst and Abby Wight. Lara MacGregor has been given the opportunity to lead Hatherleigh's defensive end and has relished the challenge. Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe will combine well together down in the defensive circle for the Tigers. Erin Watson lined up at wing defence last week and will ensure that Casey Walker earns every possession. In another close game the result could go either way.

maddie redman hatherleigh netball club
Hatherleigh A Grade player and A Reserve coach Maddie Redman played her 200th game last Saturday against Robe. Maddie started her netball career as a junior back in 2000 and has flourished into an exci ng, talented and fearless defender in our A Grade team. Playing her whole career at Hatherleigh, Maddie has won numerous individual accolades as a junior and a senior for our club and represented Mid South East Associa on Country Champs and team of the year on mul ple occasions. It was not uncommon to see Maddie as a junior player, playing seniors on the same day and also si ng bench for another grade. Maddie commenced her senior netball full me in 2007 and took a break from netball in 2014 to have her son Kolton and in 2016, Spencer. This year Maddie has ventured into the other end of the court to a shoo ng posi on but s ll does her best work in the defensive end. Off the court Maddie has been part of our commi ee, always pu ng her hand up to umpire and a true dedicated club person and player. Congratula ons Maddie on your fantas c milestone of 200 games and we know there will be many more to come!

In conjunc on with
A huge congratula ons to Fiona (Fee) Jackman who will notch up 200 senior games for the Hatherleigh Netball Club this Saturday in the B Reserve against Tantanoola. Fee is a fierce and determined defender who always gives her all and whenever you hear a loud voice coming from the court you always know that would be Fee! She started her senior netball in 1996 and then had a few years off to have her children and joined the Millicent associa on while her children were young. She returned to Hatherleigh in 2010 playing in the B Grade and then the B Reserve, winning B & F and R/U in the B Reserve several mes. Fee has been part of our commi ee on numerous occasions and her most memorable moment is having made and playing with some amazing friends that she started with and is s ll playing with today. Well done on achieving 200 senior games Fee and we wish you all the best today.

NETball club notes Junior 2: Well done everyone. We will work on driving in front and being loud on the court, however, the improvement each week is impressive to see. Metalworx Award went to Mia and second best to Charlo e. Junior 1: Great game girls. It was good to see everyone working on everything we had focused on at training – s ll a couple of things we need to focus on but there wasn't much else I could have asked you girls to do. Eddie Kuhl Tyres award went to Jaz for playing an outstanding game and doing everything I asked her to do during the game. Second best went to Gracie for playing a great game in posi ons she isn't overly confident in and calling for the ball more. Let’s keep working hard at training and improving our game. 13 & Under: 48-15. How exci ng, another win on the board! You all executed what was prac ced at training and it paid off. Our hand pressure over the ball was fantas c all down the court, allowing many turnovers to our advantage. We had some really good passages of play and our footwork was amazing! Lets really focus on training this week – our skills and game will only improve if we work hard! It was really hard to pick just two best players as you all played a terrific game. Receiving the Dycer Construc ons Award was Ruby, who got countless intercepts and applied fantas c defence pressure all over the court. Isabella received the Paradise Pizza award, with only playing half a game but played excep onal – ge ng just about every intercept that came her way and shut down her player from ge ng the ball. Keep up the great work girls! 15 & Under: 37-40. Great game girls. You worked hard together and had some great passages throughout the whole game. Defence applied great pressure and picked up loose balls. Shooters was a different combina on but Sienna and Jorja moved well around the ring with some great feeding from Jena and Amelie. At half me we changed it up again with Shae and Alyssa coming on who applied pressure did some great driving down the court. In defence Maddy applied constant pressure cu ng off many drives. Tayliah and Emma also had some good turnovers. We came back from 10 down at half me to only lose by 3. Congratula ons girls, you should be proud of yourselves! Maloney Plumbing award went to Jorja O and second best to Jena J. 17 & Under: 62-26. A fantas c game to snare your first win of the season – well done! Our defensive pressure was excellent and everyone kept figh ng and driving all game, even in some quite warm condi ons. DeGaris Lawyers award went to Giaan Ferguson who had a great first half at GD and some excellent driving and feeding at WA in the second half. Second best went to Caitlyn Bignell for an amazing game at GK – so many intercepts against a much taller
NETball club notes opponent. Encouragement went to Zoe Johnston for a full game at WD where she never gave up. Everyone else also contributed all over the court – it was a pleasure to coach you again. B Reserve: 46-14. Fantas c team effort by everyone. We started slow in the first quarter but once we played our own game we all worked well together. Our second quarter was strong which allowed us to have some posi on changes at half me with Giaan and Jorja coming on. These two young ladies stepped up into seniors and played against strong bodied ladies but never put their heads down and both contributed to the game well. Thanks girls for helping out last week. Key 2 Sale Award went to Lydia for a great a acking game and Ryleigh for some great intercepts. B Grade: 53-21. Great win girls with having 5 fill-ins! Defence was ght in the circle with Amy and Sammy ge ng plenty of turnovers. Lauren and Jorja combined and shot well in the goal circle to finish off. Mid court trio Dom (Planta on Treated Timber Award), Alarna (2nd best) and Lara with great driving, passing and defensive pressure down the court ge ng lots of touches. Congratula ons to Lara for her first senior game and playing so well. Big thanks to Sammy, Lara, Alarna, Jorja M, Lauren, Jorja O for filling in. A Reserve: 46-34. Well done and thank you to Sarah Lawler and Emily Thompson for filling in and a credit to Amber Thompson and Zoe Mulraney for playing 2 games in a row. Also thanks to Sarah Edwards for jumping on at GK when Tameka went down with an injury. Good team effort and being pa ent with one another. There was some great passages of play in a ack with some great moving and shoo ng by Sarah, Amber and Emily. Zoe – an excellent effort, you were always an op on and gave it 100% all day. Sam welcome back from Covid, great to see you back with lots of touches. Thanks again girls and a good game in hot condi ons. B&P Travel and Cruise award went to Bec. A Grade: 85-24. A fantas c game girls, well done! Our defensive pressure and intensity remained high all game and we really started to u lise our drives down the corridor. The goalie combina on of Jenna and Chantelle (O'Brien Electrical Award) was amazing, with some great in and out movement and lots of strong front holds. Ashlea (The Commersh Award) was excep onal on the wing, crea ng an op on every me and making some beau ful feeds. Sarah was everywhere, taking intercepts at will and she and Chloe combined beau fully in the defensive circle, with heaps of pressure and taking many strong rebounds. Chelsea came on for her first game of the year and worked hard at WD, making her opponent earn every ball and driving very strongly out of defence. A great posi ve, team game, let's carry this forward through the season.
Junior 2: These girls are tough. Going hard for every ball, ge ng turnovers, defending every pass. Always giving it their all even when the game may not be going their way. Defence had an incredible game ge ng so many rebounds and intercepts. We will focus on shoo ng and working the ball around the circle so the goalies can move into different posi ons to score those much-wanted goals. Award went to Edie Bates for not giving up. She had a couple of stacks having to come off to bandage up and then went out and played half a game in C, her resilience meant she was more than deserving. Awesome work Edie. Fantas c game all round and can't wait for this week. Junior 1: Was a tough one for the girls with a few out to Covid, and they were all red from the Easter school holidays. This led us to star ng with some flat a tudes and all feeling a bit down. However, the girls never gave up and kept running right ll the end. We have been working on grounding and pivo ng at training, these skills really came into view with all girls showing off their newfound feet. Sideline coaching was a huge help on Saturday morning with Izzy Hall listening to all direc ons and leading off the top of the circle to receive mostly all back line throw ins. This showed how versa le she can be, and she fully deserved the coaches incen ve this round. We have lots of learning to do a er a tough and tall Hatherleigh side, I can't wait to get back to training and absolutely bring it to Glencoe next week! 13 & Under: Robe 21 Hatherleigh 24. Another great game had by all the girls. Unfortunately, we didn't come away with a win and we have a bit to work on at training. We gave the girls three key things to focus on throughout the game which were; chase every loose ball, clear out when you're not an op on and jump for rebounds. It was great to see that they all made the effort to focus on these - in par cular Lacey, Tess and Milla. We look forward to coming up against Glencoe next week who will also be a challenge for the girls. Best player went to Milla Roach for her hard efforts and clean intercepts all game. Incen ve went to our smallest girl Lacey Brooks for her the determina on and effort she showed - no ma er the size of her opposi on. Well done girls. 15 & Under: Robe 30 Hatherleigh 33. A loss by 3 is so disappoin ng, you all played so well and used everything we have been working on at training. Your confidence is growing strongly each week and we'll con nue to work hard at it and come away with the wins! Georgie played a great game, star ng to use her body to get the ball where she wants it and be the play maker for the a ack line. Kiana and Stella shared GS for a half each and both moved and shot extremely well. Ella and Emily combine so well together in C and WA, Ella with strong passes and Emily with perfect leads always giving the a ack an op on. Jenna con nues to work hard at WA or WD, crea ng space and leading towards the ball. Lucy and Tilly in defence worked well together, crea ng numerous turnovers with Tilly driving through the centre court to control the ball down court. Demi our li le rocket is going to only improve with each game, playing at WD and GK proved she is going to be a sensa onal defender. Great work girls! Best player - Tilly Yeo. Incen ve - Demi Bermingham. 17 & Under: Robe 50 Hatherleigh 21. That's what I'm talking about! What an absolute hustle of a game! As coaches we could not be prouder to have watched you all from the sidelines. You've all taken on the advice and the skills from trainings and played the perfect match. Maisie ran out an unreal job in C and played her role the en re game, ge ng her hands to so many important intercepts! Billie your consistency and adjus ng your game to your team was spot on! Even your give and go's that we've been working on were great! Captain Ella really stood up and played a cracker - and may I add had the best shoo ng percentage for the en re RNC! Ruby your long bombs give me a heart a ack every me but you ace them and your game has really improved with you now leading forward and you smashed it! Amalie, you played an absolute ripper! So damn proud! So many intercepts and your drives down the court were fantas c! You've come such a long way and you really made the difference cu ng out that WA from the game! Maddie, defence is definitely your thing! Amazing work for being chucked in, footwork, intercepts and talk were
spot on - taking out 2nd best. Best on court for the day was Libby Yeo. Killing it in GK against the tallest girl. Footwork, clean intercepts, suppor ve talk, backing up and I could go on. We are s ll just in awe of that game and how good did it feel to come away with that win! Thank you so much for Ruby and Libby filling in, as well as Tilly and Georgie on the bench! Hope you all enjoyed the rest of your long weekend - you've earnt it! B Reserve: Robe 9 Hatherleigh 52. I am con nually impressed by the spirit that the B Rezzers play by. Whilst definitely outplayed by the Hath con ngent, the Robe chicks were s ll smiling a er the game, and celebra ng the li le things such as a tough rebound, a race to get a hand to the ball, and a strong tousle against an opponent. It makes me proud as a coach, even if I was the frustrated one injured on the sidelines all game. The day was hot, and an effort was duly made to play our own game and use our heads a bit more. We will work again on our clear holds and good throws to help with our game flow. Best on ground went to Jess Svic and incen ve to pocket rocket Imogen Dobler, both who ran relessly. Thanks to Amalie for helping out in defence. All players had patches of good play. Good work. B Grade: Robe 26 Hatherleigh 36. We were ready for a tough game as Hatherleigh are always a strong side to come up against, but we held our own. Having one of our consistent mid court players doing an injury at training on Thursday the girls really had to pull together and that they did. It was great to see everyone backing each other, and chasing/figh ng for every lost ball. Goalies, Alex and Lily did a fantas c job with some very strong defence players really using the circle where needed. Centre court were strong and did a great job ge ng that ball down the court. Our defence is really se ling and finding their groove together and it showed with Calcu a being awarded to Mahalia Bathurst-Warren and Incen ve going to Sophie Kokiousis. Well done girls. Special thanks to juniors Maddie Wirth for taking the court last quarter in C you really gave us some fresh legs when we needed it and Libby Yeo for si ng bench a er already playing a full game throughout the day. A Reserve: Robe 31 Hatherleigh 36. A great game with lots of posi ves even though we didn't get the points. We've s ll got a few things to work on when bringing the ball down court from defence to a ack which we'll do at training this week. Defence from Kimberley was amazing with her ge ng every rebound and mul ple touches. Keryn combined well with Kimberley keeping her player out of the game, and then when needed played C controlled and calmly. Libby stepped into GD and made it hard for the GA to get the ball, combing well in defence and tapping a few out! Mid court Maisie, Car a and Keelin all drove really well, providing loads of op ons down court. Ash worked relessly all game, ge ng the ball into the circle with some speedy driving. Demi, as always played super strong and is a rock in the goal circle. Calcu a went to Keryn Moore and Incen ve Ashlee Hunt. Big thanks to the U17's Maisie, Ella and Libby who step up when needed - you're all Gems. A Grade: Robe 45 Hatherleigh 39. What a great day to commemorate our ANZAC's! A er a week off we came out firing, knowing that Hatherleigh were going to be tough to beat! The first half was tough, going goal for goal with the Eagles. Once Sarah and Tori got their eye in, they combined well and stood up tall against some strong defenders. Once again Halle was strong at WA and drove well on the ring, making it hard for her opponent. Annie had a boomer, working hard and leading down the court, feeding into the goalies with precision and ge ng plenty of touches, and coming away with the best on court ANZAC medal. Lucy worked relessly all day, making it hard for her WA, with her hands over every ball and blocking the feeders on the ring. Both Alannah and Ellen worked relessly in defence, making the most of every rebound. Ellen also had a boomer, picking off lots of balls before they hit the circle. With an excep onal third quarter, we showed everyone how strong we are, a great team game, s ll a few things to work on, but everyone should be proud of the way they played and fought to the end of the game. Thanks to Demi, Ash and Kimberley for si ng bench. Best player was Annie Hunter and Incen ve went to Ellen Ramke.

NETball club notes Today we welcome Nangwarry to Kongorong to celebrate our ANZAC round. The A Grade girls will ba le it out for the MVP medal, named best on court and played in the spirit of the ANZACs. Junior 1: Great start on the court with Flick shoo ng the first goal, followed straight a er by Havvi. Lily and Zayley played excellent midcourt spacing and Isabelle and Claire did some amazing intercep ng. Zoe had her eye on the ball and made sure it was hers in defence. Holly and Sophie came on at half me and helped the team out with their skills in a ack and defence. Girls played a great game and are all improving every week. Best players went to Zoe (Boost Juice) and Lily M (Hungry Jacks). 13 & Under: From the get go of the game, the team put in 100% effort. Defence was the strongest yet for the season, and it showed with many intercepts. The girls skills and team work have grown already, and it shows on the court with the improvement of individuals and team efforts. Well done girls! Awards: Lacey – Crave, Rahni – Boost Juice. 15 & Under: It was a tough start to the day as Mt Burr got the first of many goals for the day. Credit to our girls as they kept their momentum and didn't give up. An injury in the third quarter allowed Abby to take the court. The girls finished off the game with a strong last quarter as there were changes made which changed the playing dynamic. Well done girls! Awards: Ruby - Fasta Pasta, Thalia – Baker's Delight. B Reserve: The girls put in a great effort for the first game we had a full team and did well to run it out in the heat. Good shoo ng from Elly (with some long bombs) and Alex in the circle. The heat and
NETball club notes opposi on made it tough for our centre court girls but they kept their heads up and worked hard to move the ball. Some great work down in the defence end put plenty of pressure on the opposi on. A good effort girls, each game we get a step closer to our best game yet! Awards: Tamika – Vanity, Macy – Crave Dessert Bar. B Grade: Great win girls. You all did what we need to do each week. Great vision and moving in the goal circle from our a acks and our defence pressured all game. Thanks Macy for helping us out. Awards: Arena – Sarah, Commersh - Brooke. A Reserve: Woohoo! Awesome work girls, I am so proud of all of you and how hard you worked. Everyone played their role perfectly and it resulted in the win for us. Special men ons go to Heidi Finnigan (Maddison and Fi h) blinder in WD with relentless pressure and touches through all 4 quarters, Georgia Bald (Fasta Pasta) in GK who worked over me causing turnovers all game down the back and Megan Bowering (Lima and Co) in GS who had an absolute blinder sinking them from all over the shop. A Grade: Bad luck girls, but a great effort for 4 quarters. With new combina ons and players to make up for absences, I am so proud of how well everyone adapted and played their role to get us through the game. Our defence all over the court was the highlight of our game, with Riley Buckingham (Maddison and Fi h) and Sarah Lucas (Fasta Pasta) down back ge ng best on. Thank you and great job to the A Res girls who took the court to help us out last week, very much appreciated! Congratula ons to Jas McKinnon who played her first A Grade game, with half a game in WD, showing a real maturity for her age.
Last Saturday we remembered a beau ful lady, past president, coach, friend and SSO to many players. I wish to thank all who came over to the minute silence and paid their respects. Thank you to Rosalie's daughter for spending the day with us. Richards Crash repairs 08 8725 8820 give them a call. Junior 1: It took us a bit to get started, huge improvement in the second half. Great to see hands over the ball and ge ng turnovers. Well done on backing each other up and chasing the loose balls. Thank you to Ella, Leah and Paige for filling in. Best player Darcy - Fasta Pasta. For great shoo ng and rebounds. 13 & Under: Hopefully we learnt a lot from last week's game. We struggled in all aspects of the game. With having four players already play a game before ours and being short a player really didn't help us to be compe ve. We have some great passages of play. Ella C ran the centre well and passing in first half was faultless. Ruby played an excellent game at GK winning the Athlete’s Foot award. Keep listening Ruby and you will con nue to gain confidence and get be er. 15 & Under: A er a tough game last round my girls put their heart and soul on the court this game. They all played so well and I couldn't be more proud of the girls! Each player did everything I asked of them and the court play was amazing to watch. A massive thank you to the under 13's that filled in for us, the umpires, scorers and mers we appreciate you all every week. Best player was Scarle Black. 17 & Under: Thanks heaps to the girls that filled in for us last week. The game saw us come up against a strong team and the hot weather condi ons did not do us any favours. We had really good defensive pressure throughout the court with many intercepts, it
took the girls a while to back each other up when ge ng a hand to a ball but once they did this we had many more scoring opportuni es. We had many good passages in the a ack line and feeding in to the circle is look good. Hold your heads high and come work on all the one percenters and in me your game will improve drama cally. Emily Timms got the Donut King award for all her hard work in defence for taking many intercepts throughout the game B Reserve: Great game by all! The score definitely did not represent the way we played the game. We implemented what was shown at training and we were able to move the ball down the court much be er. Our defence worked really well together and our a ackers seemed to have more confidence. Looking forward to watching this team grow together throughout the rest of the season. Best players Tara Stewart, Kate Noble. A Reserve: With an unse led team once again we took to the court in warm condi ons, we scored the first goal and then decided to try and play Glencoe's game which caused us to throw away some easy op ons. As the game wore on and we became red we started to play some much be er netball we took our me, waited and looked for the easy op ons which is our game style. A win is coming girls, we just need to iron out a few li le basics and we will be rewarded. We all played well, Cassie and Meg combined well in the goal circle, Hayley V and Hayley Burner along with Shan made Glencoe goalies work hard for each pass ge ng their hands to many rebounds. Best players Cassie Dinnison and Tamara Ploenges. A Grade: First home game for the season as we welcomed Glencoe. It was an emo onal start to the game as we paid tribute to Rosalie Stewart. Glencoe came out firing and scored every opportunity they had. We had some great passages of play but were up against a very good side who capitalised on all their turnovers. Hats off to our girls who ran it out the whole game in the heat. We just need to play our game and believe we can do it and the wins will eventually come. Best players were Hayley Burner and Shannon Higgins.

Junior 2: The girls went onto the court in high spirits that never faltered throughout the game. Was amazing to watch them on their first home court game. This game was even more special with it being the ANZAC round. The girls made new friends with the opposing team and con nued the camaraderie ll the end. Junior 1: Fantas c effort girls! S ll a few players short unfortunately, but with some of our Junior 2's stepping up we were able to play a solid game. A big thank you to Mia, Sydnee, Alice (and Sophie). Some great passages of play could be seen throughout the game, with all girls adjus ng to put into prac ce some of the key skills learnt at trainings. It's great to see some confidence forming out on the court, especially within the goal circle. Very keen to see this bunch of girls grow and improve throughout the season! Best player went to Eva (Sportspower bag), great work! 13 & Under: Great team game girls. It was pleasing to see you using the skills we have been prac sing at training in a game. Well done to Isabelle for playing well in a new team and your first game in 13s. Some great intercep ons and endeavour for the ball, with players all over the court chasing balls to cause turnovers. It is important to remember to pull the ball in with 2 hands and place the ball just in front of our teammates to make sure it is away from the opposi on defence. Great to see us con nuing to improve each week. Well done. Congratula ons to Gemma for winning the Sportspower award. Thanks to Amy for scoring and Marty for ming. A big thanks to Lisa Sco for filling in as team manager. 15 & Under: Well done girls, a great win, we had lots of changes and we did a great job adap ng to those changes. Our on ball defence all over court was great to watch and crea ng many turnovers. We had different combina ons in the circle at both ends of the court, at each quarter, and this showed how versa le you all are. We s ll need to remember to look forward and down the court, not across court, with our transi on. Overall
NETball club notes a great game and thanks to listening to me as your fill-in coach. Well done to Olivia for winning the Sportspower award. Thanks to Kelly for scoring, Shannon for ming and Jazmin for umpiring. A big thanks to Dawn for helping on the sidelines. 17 & Under: A great game girls. A er a long couple weeks off, it was great to see you all eager to be back out on the court. Your voice and confidence in each other are star ng to show more on court which is fantas c to see and I hope this will con nue to build throughout the season. S ll plenty of things to work on, especially our structures across the court. Thank you Mandy for umpiring and April for scoring. The award went to Mae Johnston (Hannah Fraser). B Reserve: Well done girls, but it took half a game of netball to pull away from Kongorong. They pushed us all game and it is great see, that we can change things throughout the game, that isn't working to our benefit. When we were under pressure, we did support each other with our talking on the court and backing each up. S ll, lots to work on, which we will at training and come out firing against Pt Mac. Thanks to Lisa for umpiring, Luke for ming and Wayne for scoring. Since Fi y-Six award went to Dawn. B Grade: Bad luck girls. Was a tough game, with many players out due to Covid. A lot of juniors stepped up to fill the gaps and did a great job. Thanks to all of those from juniors and B Reserve who helped fill the team. We worked hard despite this and had some good passages of play. Well done to Jazmin for doing a great job in centre and defence and never giving up. Lara did a great job defending in the goal third and had a number of turnovers which helped the team achieve some points. A lot of changes were made throughout the game and the team gelled towards the end. Bad luck last week. Keep your head up for the next game girls. Thank you to Leah for umpiring, Karen for scoring, and Tracey for stepping up to coach for the day. A Reserve: Covid struck us again, makes it hard to se le as a team with the inconsistency, hopefully we will get some luck soon. Lots of posi on changes to try and make things work and fourth quarter really showed that we are able capable of playing some nice flowing netball. Let's take that quarter into this week's game. Thank you to Jas and Oliviah for helping out on the bench again. Amy for umpiring. Shannon and Sam for scoring and ming and Mandy for primary carer. Award - McKenzie Bevan. A Grade: Not an ideal start with Kongorong scoring the first couple of goals before we could score, our pregame focus is something we really need to work on girls although I do love your work, Zoe. Our defensive pressure once again gave us many op ons in a ack but when fa gue sets in we need to learn how to convert the hard work of our defence into goals. It wasn't the smoothest of transi ons but we got the job done. Let's work a li le harder at training this week girls. Denton's Sportspower Award - Madi Hagge . Thanks to Allan for scoring, Kelcey for ming, Anne match report and Tanya for being our primary carer.
Junior 1: Last week we came upon a very classy Kalangadoo team. It took us a li le while to warm up and use our space. Once we started to look long we had some great passages of play and scored. Let's keep working on our movement and passing this week. Best players kindly donated by Subway went to Peyton Bowd for great movement and drive to the ball and to Addison Smith for a great defensive game. Junior 2: Great second game from all the girls. They started off strong and finished off strong. Their aim was to get a goal and they achieved that, there was lots of smiles on their faces when they got there first goal. Everyone tried their best and the younger ones stepped up. They listened to their instruc ons and took it on board. Best players for the game were Skyla who had her hands to everything and got many intercepts (Intersport), second best was BK who moved really well in the circle and stepped up her game (Fasta Pasta). Lastly Molly was everywhere and was eager to get the ball (Subway). Keep up the work girls! 13 & Under: To say I'm proud is an understatement. Yet again the girls came out and played as a team. It was an awesome game to watch and we are lucky to come out with the win. With mul ple posi on changes we finally found our groove. Our defence Mia and Layla worked hard on ge ng intercepts and making it hard for the Kdoo shooters to shoot. Kasey made the change from GS to C and she did a fantas c job! While Lily J and Bailee played beau fully together in goals! Chelsea, Isla, Ivy and Lily J did exactly what I asked of them in their posi ons. Overall a fantas c game to watch and couldn't be more prouder as a coach! Best players: Mia Spher - Subway Voucher, Bailee Lewis - Subway Voucher. 15 & Under: Well done girls. You had moments where you worked really well together, leading into space and chasing loose balls. You adjusted well to the changes of posi ons. Need to work on backing each other up, our shoo ng accuracy and talking to each other on the court. Best players: Subway - Sophie Jones and Sophie Lewis. 17 & Under: What an awesome game we had! As I have said before, having 10 girls makes it hard for us coaches to keep everyone happy, but you all make it so easy having the a tude and team determina on you all do. You all have the same goal and if we keep building each week, we will be hard to overcome. Our transi on all round all game was absolutely fantas c. Every quarter we had new combina ons and it did not put any of you out. There are a few touches and adjustments we recognised early on which we can focus on at training. Best players - Lara Wilson (Subway), Kate Winterfield (The Bay Pizzaria). B Reserve: We started off slow, which was hard to peg back. However, we did work relessly and our persistence paid off as we outscored
them in one quarter and stayed within a few for the others. We can work to build on our passages of play down court into our goal cycle and I think we will get there! Paige received the Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Cafe award and Anna received the Lima & Co award. Great driving and persistence ladies. B Grade: Warm playing condi ons as we faced Kalangadoo, playing our 2nd game of the season. We started of well, but seem to loose our momentum with our changes. Rachel, Ranga, Brooklyn and Kelly worked relessly in defence crea ng turnovers. Our next step as a team is to treasure these turnovers and consistently score them. Our transi on down court was magical at mes. Posi oning, ming and passing were text book. Jess' drive into the circle was med beau fully, connec ng well with our mid court players. Goalie to goalie passing was used effec vely by Elivia and Jess. Thanks Paige for your efforts, jumping on the court to play for the second me. You fi ed in perfectly and ran hard in the warm weather. We need to con nue to work for each other crea ng space on and off the ball. Our combina ons are beginning to gel. Which is good to see. We didn't come out with the points. But we can build on our strengths and weaknesses and develop our game further to met our team goals. Thanks to Paige, Jorja and Ranga for si ng on the bench! It's much appreciated. Awards: Deanne Spencer - Fi h & Madison, Jess Grigg - “Shipwreck Bistro” Victorian Hotel, Port MacDonnell. A Reserve: Not the result we were hoping for a er a extremely strong start. We were unable to adjust to the changes from our opposi on. Let this be something to learn for us all. We win as a team and we lose as a team. We know our roles, and now we need learn and fine tune as individuals and con nue grow as a team. There was s ll glimpse of some really good passages of play par cularly in our first half. We will not dwell, but we must learn from it. Best players: Belinda O'Dine (Victoria Hotel) and Keyarnah Smith (Lima). A Grade: We started out strong but wasn't able to play 4 consistent quarters with our 3rd quarter really le ng us down. We came back firing in the 4th quarter keeping the quarter equal but was li le to late. We had some great passages of play throughout the game and our defence pressure on court was good. We have a lot to take away from this game, we need to re-group now and work on playing 4 consistent quarters and keep building on the plays that have been working. Liza Mutch had an awesome game running the C and who was well backed up by Kristy Sneath playing WD, both applying much needed pressure and ge ng turnovers when they counted. Best Liza Mutch (Victoria Hotel) and Kristy Sneath (Fi h and Maddison).

NETball club notes Junior 2: What a great first game! Defensively everyone made it difficult for their opponent playing ght netball whilst also having their hands over every ball. In our a ack line we did some excellent dodges and came toward the ball, giving us the opportunity to have plenty of shots. Awards: Myla, Kaia and Poppy (Toy Kingdom), Charlo e, Georgie and Hadlie (HLC), Violet, Poppy and Maggie (Dentons Sportspower) Junior 1: A very dominant performance for the J1 eagle's girls again at Robe. They really gelled as a team, pu ng together some great passages of play right down the court. The girls were moving into space, becoming more decisive with their leads, and keeping the court balanced. Livvi had an impressive game both in defence and a ack picking up countless intercepts. Hazel and Alirah read off each other beau fully in goals and worked the ball in for the shot. Mollie and Arabella were always backing up down the court and worked hard at keeping front posi on. Tilly and Paige were ght in defence but transi oned easily into a ack. The girls con nue to listen and learn each week, striving to improve their game. Thanks to Kaia and Violet for si ng on our bench. Awards: Livvi (Toy Kingdom), Hazel (HLC). 13 & Under: Another solid defensive game by everyone. Poppy, Meeka, Olivia Beggs and Olivia Bellinger jumped on every loose ball and rebounded strong under the post. Sienna and Sylvie combined well in the circle, providing plenty of op ons for our mid-courters. Olivia Hassell ran solidly down the centre of the court, causing her opponent to make lots of errors, whilst Luca slo ed in seamlessly into the goal circle (a er coming on in the 3rd) and a acked the ball strongly. A strong team game girls. Awards: Sienna Clark (Java Café), Poppy Fitzgerald (HLC). 15 & Under: The girls had to dig deep to bring home the win, a er a flat start to the game the girls were playing catch up netball. Kyah had a great game in defence and read the play really well. Kalli whether in goals or the mid-court always gives 100% and pulled in some mely intercepts. Niah worked hard in goals, teaming with Hailey who is star ng to find her feet both shoo ng accurately with Niah pulling in any missed a empts. Ayrlie worked really hard in the mid-court and was rewarded with many intercepts, while Deni really came into the game at WD. We must thank Olivia who helped us out and her height in defence really helped us get over the line. Eva at WA is playing smart netball and feeding the goalies with some lovely passes. Overall, a slow start but it was great to see everyone put a wonderful second half together and come away with the points. Thanks Nat for scoring. Awards: Kyah (Dentons Sportspower), Niah (Java Café). 17 & Under: A disappoin ng game to say the least. Our heads, determina on and fight were not with us. The lack of talk and encouragement really showed through the large amount of fumbled passes and sloppy plays. There is plenty of poten al within our team to be successful, we need to come together as a team and find it. This week is a new game girls; let’s use it as a clean slate and show some fight. Awards: Demi Jones (Denton's Sportspower), Elly Redden (HLC). B Reserve: We welcomed Jess into her first game a er missing the start of the season due to Covid. We started the game really scrappy; we didn't put into play anything that we have worked on, and it showed, we have some hard work coming up in future trainings. Thankfully
NETball club notes our 2nd quarter we came out more focused. Having said that Amy dominated all game taking countless turnovers and her passes into the goalies were spot on. Our quiet achiever in Sarah shot beau fully and combined well with both Nic and Jess. Staci and Sally both worked hard in C and WA, Staci stepping up into GD in the last quarter showing her versa lity as a player. Lucy and Fee were strong in defence, Lucy using her long arms to create many turnovers. Grace returning from Covid took the court in WD in the last quarter and gave it her all. Thank you to Anneke for scoring and Nic for primary caring. Awards: Amy Haines (Somerset Hotel), Staci Faulkner (All Seasons of Beauty). B Grade: We started the first quarter very slowly and with a lot of errors. We created many turnovers in both defence and a ack but due to many mistakes we couldn't convert. I think we were all shocked that we were up by 3 at quarter me. The 2nd and 3rd were much be er with the mistakes reducing. Our last quarter was not flash, but the heat and our fitness were a big factor. The goal circle worked hard all day with Charlie, Ellie, Hayley and Paris showing great signs. Nat, Meg and Jas were very strong through the mid-court with Jas ge ng many intercepts for her half and Meg being rock solid. Our defensive end was solid with Ella, Sophie and Georgia working well with Ella ge ng many intercepts throughout the game. Many changes were again done but with the versa lity of the team the changes are not making a difference. Thanks to Heidi for scoring and Fee for primary caring. Awards: Ella Major (Beachport Hotel), Jasmyne Bellinger (Kelsey Wight Fitness), Meg Gray (Somerset Hotel). A Reserve: There were lots of changes again in the team with people on holidays and injuries. It took a bit to get into the game as it was very physical all over the court and con nued the whole game. Elly Redden came off at quarter me with a foot injury and was replaced by Maddie. Chelsea was relentless at GD reading the ball well. Rosie and Helen switched; this gave us more drive down the court with the score at half me being even on 16 goals. Demi came onto GS, Dakota to WD, Rosie to GD and Lucy to C, Maddie, Rosie and Dakota were ge ng their hands to lots and pu ng pressure over the ball in defence. We managed to come away with a 5-goal win. Great game girls! There were some great passages of play, but we need to remember to use our triangles, don't hesitate with our passes and give and go's. Thank you to Liss, Michelle and Sam for helping with the team and scoring. Demi Vanderhorst, Chelsea Galpin, Demi Jones and Dakota Hateley for filling in and si ng on the bench. Awards: Lucy Corman (Somerset Hotel), Rosie Ne le (Beachport Hotel), Eliza Mewe (All Seasons on Beauty). A Grade: Not the result we wanted as we con nue to nker with combina ons. It was a game played in patches with our 4th quarter being the only one we were able to put 15 minutes together and out score Robe 17-7. Defensively we work as a well-oiled unit, fitness wise we are able to play hard fast netball for four quarters. We just need to keep working and be pa ent in our a ack to get that score on the board. Plenty of posi ves to take away and plenty to work on. Let's regroup and work hard this week as we take on every game as a new challenge. Our 200 gamer Maddie had a great game and took home the Somerset Hotel award – Congrats Mads. Thanks Grace for scoring and Michelle for primary caring. Awards: Tegan and Lara (Kelsey Wight Fitness).
Junior 2: Another fantas c week for our li le J2 Tigers. Great moving into space, great passing and catching and some great goals. They are really improving each week and ge ng stronger and more confident as a team. Awards went to Myla for really listening and doing what I ask (hands up) and also to Daisy for her consistent effort. Well done girls! Junior 1: What a warm but great game against Robe! It was amazing to see how much improvement was made from last game. The girls were more confident and tried their absolute hardest. The ball moved so well down the court as everyone found the space to pass in to. Stella received an award as she was awesome in the goals, moving to get passes in the space and in front of her player. Kayleigh received an award for her great a acking and defence skills and giving 100% on the court. 13 & Under: Another tough game! We got off to a much be er start in the first quarter, matching Robe goal for goal which was great to see. Unfortunately we just weren't able to keep it up all game. Girls, there has been such an improvement in your game play already in just the first 2 games this season, you are all taking on board lots of new strategies and should be really proud of your effort so far. Awards went to Rachael Thwaites (Shanks Engineering) and Isabel O'Brien (Sportspower - drink bo le). 15 & Under: The under 15s had a full side for the first me this season. Although the girls didn't have their coach Jules this weekend, everyone put in 100% effort. The score did not reflect how much we improved from the start of the game to the final whistle and I hope that each one of the girls learnt something from the game. The girls all need to remember to use their voice and make direct leads to the ball instead of running away. These are all things that will progress throughout the season. Awards went to Kailah Gledhill for pu ng pressure over the ball and containing her player, and Lailah Riley for listening and pu ng into ac on everything said and ge ng around her player. 17 & Under: It was great to have a full side for our hit out against Robe. It was a tough one but your determina on was evident and it showed on the final scoreboard. Bella and Ebs played their first game and did so well to run it out despite the Covid lungs. Charlo e also had her first game for the season and her height and strength in the a ack end was an awesome addi on. Our defenders worked relessly the whole game to get the turnovers and it definitely paid off. Our goalies took a li le to se le but once the nerves were out of their systems there was no stopping them. We have such great diversity and op ons throughout the team and it is great to see that whatever the combina ons are you are all able to adapt very quickly and combine with ease. It's just the li le
things girls but we will keep working hard at training and we're sure it will show on the court. We've had a couple of weeks break but now it's me to knuckle down and show what you're made of as a team! Awards went to Bella Poulish and Holly Walker. B Reserve: Great game girls, really proud of how you are all coming together to work as a team. Great to see everyone clearing out well and keeping the court nice and open. It just goes to show that when we slow down and play our own game we can achieve some great results. Best players went to Emily Jennings who was a shoo ng superstar and had some great movement in the ring. As well as Tarrah Taylor who not only played a great half at centre but slo ed fantas cally into goal a ack and proved just how versa le she is. Go Tiges! B Grade: A perfect day for netball and we were glad to welcome back Ffion and Laylah to give us fresh legs on the bench. Gemmah, Kim, Ffion and Leah were brilliant in defence again, winning heaps of turnovers. Alice, Laylah and Kirsty were solid through the midcourt and provided so much drive on such a hot day. The feeding into the shoo ng circle was pinpoint again. Bek and Jodie con nued to build their connec on together and shot accurately. Thanks to the Robe girls for a fun, friendly game. Best players were Kim (McCourts voucher) and Bek (club meal voucher). Thanks to Kateesha and Kim for scoring and mekeeping. Tant 35 def. Robe 21. A Reserve: We were lucky to have some nice weather for the weekend but unfortunately we didn't come away with the win. We had a great first quarter being up by 1 but our second quarter wasn't the best. We slowed down which allowed Robe to get in front so the rest of the game was a ba le to catch up. Amy and Amy-lee worked well in the circle up against some tough defenders. Sally and Danni worked hard in the middle and Chloe and Charli put some great pressure in the middle too. Ella worked hard in defence and even though feeling a li le razzled did not stop and kept working hard on their goalies. Thanks to our juniors Chloe and Charli for si ng bench. Two weeks break should freshen us up and come back ready to play hard again. Best - Ella Clarke (Lima and Co voucher), Sally Peters (Since Fi y Six voucher). A Grade: Bad luck girls. A really tough day. We lacked consistency for four quarters but I think there was a lot of posi ves to take away from the game. Kate and Tayla you two are working so well together and becoming a really strong combina on. Kristy and Casey you played a really calm game and ran hard all game. Let's keep working hard at trainings and get another win on the board! Onwards and upwards girls! Awards went to Kristy (Fi h and Madison) and Casey (Somerset).
ROUND 3 A GRADE NETBALL REVIEW Glencoe 85 def Nangwarry 24 Both teams started with slightly different line ups than previous weeks due to injury and unavailability. Glencoe came out strong and capitalised on every opportunity. Jenna Paproth and Chantelle Cocks moved well and converted all turnovers. Nangwarry started to se le with Hayley Burner and Kylie Heaver crea ng space and moving the ball around the circle well and Cassie Dinnison and Tahlia Wilson both posi oning well and scoring every opportunity they had. Sarah Edwards took some very well med intercep ons allowing Donna Jaeschke and Ashlea Edwards to bring the ball down with ease allowing their goalies to posi on themselves and score comfortably. Shannon Higgins and Tahlia Puckeridge con nued to work hard to stop the dominance of Paproth and Cocks but with Cocks height and strong holding they found it hard to stop. Nangwarry 6 Glencoe 21 Nangwarry made a few changes at quarter me seeing Higgins go back to GK, Burner to GD, Tahlia Puckeridge coming out to WD and Ebony Lawson going to C. These changes seemed to help Nangwarry stop the run of Glencoe but they con nued their strong performance. Hayley Burner and Shannon Higgins combined well in defence making it harder for Glencoe's shooters and their feeders to get the ball to them and turning over a few balls. The strong drive from Burner out of defence really made it easier for Nangwarry to bring the ball down the court. Donna Edwards had a strong presence for Glencoe running well and having a good tussle with Nangwarry's Ebony Lawson. Kylie Heaver and Ashlea Edwards both worked hard for their teams providing drive in and out of a ack. Glencoe goalies in Paproth and Cocks con nued their accuracy and made it very hard for Nangwarry to get many turnovers. Sarah Edwards and Chloe Pfitzner worked hard in the circle and were strong on Dinnison and Wilson making it difficult for them to move the ball around the circle but Tahlia Wilson held well and managed to convert a few needed goals for Nangwarry. Nangwarry 14 Glencoe 41 Glencoe came out firing and really li ed it up a notch, working the ball down the court well. Chantelle Cocks really stepped up for her team shoo ng with accuracy and posi oning well with Jenna Paproth, both very pa ent and moving the ball around the circle well. Higgins and Burner con nued to work hard and taking a few intercepts that were converted well by Cassie Dinnison and Tahlia Wilson. Donna Jaeschke ran well through the Centre for Glencoe crea ng space and posi oning her team where they needed to be. Sarah Edwards con nued to take some beau ful intercepts allowing Glencoe to capitalise on those opportuni es. Nangwarry 21 Glencoe 62 In the last saw Nangwarry make a number of changes in hope to bring the scoreline closer. Heaver went to GA, Dinnison to WA, Burner to C, Lawson to WD and Puckeridge back to GD. Glencoe con nued with their same dominant team coming out strong once again. Paproth and Cocks con nued to work hard conver ng every opportunity given to them. Ashlea Edwards drove onto the circle well ming her passes into the goalies perfectly. Sarah Edwards and Chloe Pfitzner made it extremely hard for Nangwarry to get the ball into their goalies but with pa ence from Dinnison and Burner they managed to convert a few. But Glencoe's experience ge ng them over the line with ease. Final score Nangwarry 24 Glencoe 85. Best Players - Nangwarry: Hayley Burner and Shannon Higgins; Glencoe: Chantelle Cocks and Ashlea Edwards.
Kalangadoo 47 def Port MacDonnell 28 In sunny condi ons, Port MacDonnell started the match strong with the defensive combina on of Alana Winter and Megan Hein causing some early turnovers to help Port MacDonnell score the first three unanswered goals. Kalangadoo stepped up their intensity and quickly se led into the match enabling them to go to the first break with a four goal advantage. Both teams remained unchanged during the second quarter. Centre Liza Mutch worked hard for Port MacDonnell, feeding her goalies Kirby Carrison and Brooke Williams accurately. Cody Manning and Kalangadoo's Jamie Ryan had a ght contest with Ryan making Manning earn every possession. Kalangadoo's goalies Maddy Bonnano and Kori Collins began to find space and made the most of scoring opportuni es to increase Kalangadoo's advantage by eleven. The third quarter saw Kalangadoo step up their defence, with the defensive circle combina on of Lauren Kain and Georgia Gen le making an impact on the game crea ng intercepts and making it hard for the Port MacDonnell goalies to get many opportuni es. Midway through the third quarter an injury to Port MacDonnell's Kirby Carrison saw Toni Gilmore enter the match at goal shooter. Kalangadoo again stepped up their defensive pressure which forced some wayward passing by Port MacDonnell and restricted them to four goals for the quarter. In the final quarter Port MacDonnell switched Hein into goal a ack and Carrison re-entered the game at goal keeper. Port MacDonnell's defensive mid court of Mutch and Kristy Sneath increased their close checking defence making Kalangadoo work hard for every possession. Kalangadoo's Bonnano finished the game strong shoo ng at 100% for the quarter. Kalangadoo finished the game convincingly defea ng Port MacDonnell 47 goals to 28. Best players - Port MacDonnell: Liza Mutch and Kristy Sneath; Kalangadoo: Kori Collins and Lauren Kain. Mt Burr 58 def Kongorong 26 The game started with a few turnovers that went Kongorong's way, giving them a 2 goal lead early before Mt Burr had scored and se led into the game. As the quarter progressed, Mt Burr defenders in Simone Westerman (WD), Madi Hagget (GD) and Olivia Dean (GK) caused turnovers and made the most of missed goal scoring opportuni es. Mt Burr started the 2nd quarter strongly with defensive pressure denying the Kongorong goalies scoring opportuni es and conver ng to add scoreboard pressure. Ebony Clark was the focal point in the circle, shoo ng with accuracy. Laura Schultz (c) and Meg Fennell (WA) drove strongly to the circle and fed Clark with accuracy. Kongorong GS Tilah Buckingham worked hard for possession to give her team the ability to score. Rach Perry at C worked relessly to move the ball down court for Kongorong, but Schultz and Westerman con nued to make it difficult for the a ack line to use the circle edge to feed their goalies. This allowed Hagge and Dean to turn the ball and drive it strongly into a ack. Mt Burr 33 - Kongorong 15 In the 3rd quarter Kongorong made numerous changes with Megan Bowering (GS), Zara Vonstanke (WA) and Kelsey Widdison (GD) came on from the bench, while Perry went to WD. Bowering made an immediate impact with greater movement and desire for the ball, allowing Kongorong many more scoring shots for the quarter. Hagge and Dean con nued to take intercepts and mop up rebounds, while Fennell's work rate and passing to the goalies
was a highlight for Mt Burr in a ack. Kongorong li ed this quarter, while Mt Burr looked unse led, making uncharacteris c unforced errors. Kongorong demonstrated greater pa ence coming out of defence especially when Mt Burr executed a very effec ve zone. Mt Burr con nued to edge away through the outstanding presence of Clark in the goal circle, shoo ng 13 of the 15 goals for the quarter. Mt Burr 48 - Kong 23. For the start of the 4th quarter Kongorong again made changes to try to stem the flow of Mt Burr with Perry returning to C, Buckingham to GD and Widdison to WD. The game slowed in pace and intercepts were taken by both teams in the warm condi ons in the final term. Both teams’ goalies had missed opportuni es saw a lower scoring quarter. Kongorong moving Buckingham to GD paid off giving Kongorong the chance to move the ball into a ack. Mt Burr's dominance in defence though Hagge and Dean, limited scoring opportuni es. Mt Burr's Schultz con nued to dominate the C both with defensive pressure and outstanding drive into a ack. Mt Burr had many passages of play that were difficult for Kongorong defence to stop. Final score: Mt Burr 58 - Kongorong 26. Robe 45 def Hatherleigh 39 The Roosters and Eagles came out firing a er the pre match ceremony to commemorate ANZAC Day, with much of the first quarter being goal for goal. Robe took a few shots to find their feet in goals, however once Tori Gluyas got her eye in, she was hard to stop. Hatherleigh's goalies Maddie Redman and Abby Wight struggled with their accuracy and Robe came away at quarter me up by 3 goals. Both teams made no changes at quarter me and once again we saw a goal for goal quarter, with Robe's Annie Hunter and Tegan Telfer having a great ba le through the centre. With both teams being more accurate in the second quarter, it was a tough ba le, with both Hatherleigh and Robe scoring 11 goals for the quarter. The third quarter saw Robe keeping the same posi ons; however, Hatherleigh made some changes, with Demi Vanderhorst coming on at GA and Chelsea Galpin coming on at GD, and Redman and Lara MacGregor coming off. Robe took advantage of the changes and came out firing, ge ng lots of touches and chasing down those loose balls. Ellen Ramke and Alannah Campbell were making it hard for Hatherleigh's goalies, with Ramke picking off lots of balls coming into the circle and making the most of any rebound opportunity. Hatherleigh's goalie Abby Wight came off during the quarter with a shoulder injury and Redman came back on into goals, however Robe were too strong, with Sarah Laurie shoo ng at 100% accuracy for the quarter. Robe won the third quarter 18-5. The last quarter saw Hatherleigh make numerous changes to their team, with Robe once again making no changes. Hatherleigh's Redman was on fire shoo ng 13 from their 17 goals for the quarter and only missing one goal, Robe seemed to take their foot off the pedal and Hatherleigh came home strong, however in the last 5 minutes Robe li ed and kept Hatherleigh at bay, with Robe winning the game by 6 goals. With the final score 45 to 39. Robe's Annie Hunter came home with the Best on Court ANZAC Medal. Best players - Robe: Annie Hunter and Ellen Ramke; Hatherleigh: Erin Watson and Tegan Telfer.
