The Mid South Eastern Football League Board stands alongside all Australians in the fight against racism which has no place in football or the community. The hurt and trauma caused by racism has sadly once again been brought to the a en on of the Senior Board. Players o en make racial comments because they feel the other player made them miss a mark, lose the ball or miss a shot at goal. Some mes these comments are used as “jokes” or to “let off steam”. But there is no excuse; these comments are clearly either racial or religious vilifica on or both. The old line “what's said on the field stays on the field” is not acceptable anymore. It is mely to remind every person associated with our game that engaging in any form of racism is just not on. Society in general takes a dim view of racism and so does the MSEFL. Through connec ng people from diverse backgrounds at a local football club, the game of Australian Football contributes significantly to the social fabric and health and well being of communi es. Our message is clear, if you spread racism, whether online or at a game, there is no place in football for you. You are not welcome. This behaviour is unlawful for a reason. Everyone in our game has the right to feel safe and supported and we encourage everyone in our game to report racism and call out this behaviour when it is safe for you to do so. The AFL has been a leader in the field of tackling racism head-on and the Mid South Eastern Football League Execu ve has commi ed to inves ga ng and adop ng strategies to ensure that people of all races, religion, colour, descent, na onal or ethnic origin feel welcome and are free to enjoy all that our great game has to offer. It is an expecta on that all member clubs be commi ed to elimina ng any inappropriate a tudes in the rare instances where they exist.
round 7 HATHERLEIGH VS KONGORONG
kongorong football clu b
senior debuts brodie
von stankedowie
Brodie’s debut in the Kongorong seniors team was earlier this season versus Kalangadoo. Brodie has played all his junior football at Kongorong, working his way through the junior years, and currently in his final year of Senior Colts. Brodie is a fast small forward with the ability to turn players inside out in just a couple of steps. He is very lively in front of goals and an exci ng player to watch.
CAMPBELL
GRANEY Campbell stepped into a senior guernsey versus Tantanoola recently. Campbell is a gut runner that has the ability to make an impact at any contest. His body size makes him hard to beat one on one and he'll crash through any pack to win a hard ball. Hence his nickname 'Bull'. Campbell has an exci ng football career ahead of him.

Junior Colts: Last week we travelled to Nangwarry for a tough contest. Both Nangwarry and ourselves were low on numbers but Pricey and the boys at Glencoe were willing to lend us some players to help us both out to have a game. Without them lending players there wouldn’t have been much of a game so massive thank you to you guys. To our boys you played an extremely good game and should be proud of yourselves. You were challenged and you held up strong. It was good to see all the li le things being done for each other the handballs and shephards. Best players for us were Charlie Bevan, Jayden Garner, Heath Johnston, Levi Thiele, Finn Woolston and Reed Gardner. Very hard to pick the best last week all the boys played their role. Cheers Tom Senior Colts: Last week we took on a undermanned Nangwarry and came away with a big win which put us back in the top four. Four of our boys went over and played for Nangas each quarter and they all showed great sportsmanship. Best players were Cohen Montuori who kicked four goals out of the middle, Brock Sandow solid all game then got a call up late for A Grade and acqui ed himself well, Brady Sharp had a great game at full forward finishing with 6 goals, Bradlee Lawson used his smarts all game back and forward and Reed Gardiner in his first game up from Junior Colts was dangerous up forward finishing with a couple of goals. Big game this week against Robe. B Grade: Saturday was a disappoin ng result for our side against a strong Nangwarry team. Despite having a few players out and a few boys going into the game at less than 100%

fitness, we need to be be er as a side. Not manning up and poor skills really cost us, especially late in the game when Nangwarry would outnumber our defence by 2 or 3 players. Despite the significant loss there were some players that really stood up and showed improvement. Best players were Harry Corman, Muhammad Abduvahobov, Mark Teagle, George Wimshurst and Jack Francis. Thanks to everyone that helped out on the day. A Grade: A er the bye we travelled to Nangwarry to take on the Saints at home. During the week we spoke about how much this game meant to us and what it meant to our season so it was pleasing to see the boys answer in the right way with our run, carry and pressure cking the boxes in the first half. Our third quarter found us wan ng though as we switched off and became lazy. This caused a bit of a rush of blood to the head and some loud words at the 3 qtr me break to wake us up. Good to finish the game off well enough and get another W on the board. It’s great to have our younger guys coming in and playing their role, can really see the improvement in their games a er ge ng the exposure in A Grade football. Best from the weekend were Fiebs, Ridz, Smithy, Rooster, Jimmy and Swag. Great night at the club Saturday night - thanks to all involved in organising it and making it a successful night! More of those to come. Onto Robe this weekend back at Mt Burr, looking forward to another test and playing back on our home deck. Hell it’s good out here. Go Burr!

Junior Colts: We took on Kalangadoo at home on a ripper winters morning. A er a few losses in a row we were ready to get back on the winners list in a big way. With Kalangadoo yet to record a win for the season it was a week where we could try a few different things and work on ge ng ourselves back into some form. We started well with the midfield on top from the get go. Big Joey McKenny was providing us with a good focal point up forward providing a contest and clunking a few good marks. We were able to remain in control for the majority of the game through work rate and intent at the footy. Special men ons go to Finn Malone, Eli Jess and Jacob Parker (Booda) who all kicked their first goals in Junior Colt footy. Was good to see all the older boys recognise this and create some atmosphere for them. We now look forward to Mount Burr who will be a challenge this week with a couple very talented footballers. Senior Colts: Another beau ful day in Robe! Taking on 4th spot Kalangadoo, we knew the task wouldn’t be easy. As we thought, the ‘Doo brought the heat for the first half of footy. Our boys intent on the ball wasn’t up to our expecta ons and the ‘Doo made us look silly. Credit to the Robe lads for toughing it out and pushing away in the 3rd quarter to give us some breathing space. Things started to open up through our midfield and our key targets Joel Bryant and Codee Weston proved too much for the ‘Doo. Majors went to Codee Weston 6, Joel Bryant 3 and Kyle Hampel 2. Best players: Joel Bryant, Flynn Peel, Mason Keane, Ollie Hagge and Cooper Thomas. Denton’s Sportspower player incen ves went to Codee Weston and Steve’s Place player incen ve to Charles Moore. Reserves: What a big game last week was. Kalangadoo, wow they played a fantas c brand of football which I admire, they were next level. Lots learnt from the game and back to the drawing board we go. This game reiterated the importance of training and skills which we can improve on with ge ng guys on the track during the week to prac ce, which we have done very li le of...

In the best for the day were Jed Regnier, Josh Wilson, Flynn Peel. This week we head away to Mount Burr, hoping to get back to some winning form as I say each week be good to get some numbers at training see you then. A Grade: Last week we took on the top placed Kalangadoo on our home ground. Winning 3 games on the trot we were keen to go head-tohead with the league leaders. It was a beau ful sunny Saturday with the weather condi ons not going to be a problem for either side. From the first bounce, it was a hot football with plenty of pressure around the contest. Both teams playing quick a acking football. Kalangadoo started ge ng their hands on the footy and penetrated their forward 50 on mul ple occasions. This put Robe's defence under the pump which would con nue throughout the day. Both teams inaccurate in front of goals. Kalangadoo had a 13point lead. In the second quarter, Kalangadoo really started to flex their muscles with Pat Davies and McManus brothers star ng to get plenty of football. Robe surged the ball forward winning plenty of centre clearances but the half back line of Kalangadoo was able rebound quickly and prevent Robe from scoring any goals for the quarter. Mitch Lowe was damaging off half back and was used on mul ple occasions. The Doo piled on 6 goals for the quarter to Robe's 2 points. In the second half, there was plenty of work for Robe to do. We came out firing and were able to match Kalangadoo's intensity and kick another 2 goals to Kalangadoo's 3 for the quarter. Robe's defenders of Egan Reginer and Brodie Foulds held strong and intercepted mul ple passes in the forward 50. In the last quarter, the dam wall, well and truly fell and Kalangadoo surged forward and were unstoppable, kicking 14 goals for the quarter. It was a disappoin ng finish to what was a great clash. We will take the lessons and move on and prepare for our next ba le against Mt Burr in the Mozzies nest. There is nothing like a loss to put some fire in the belly. The Robe boys will be keen to get back onto the winners list this week.

Wow what a huge success Miss Tiger was! A huge thank you to Ange Osborne and her band of helpers for organising an amazing and hilarious night and well done to all our contestants for making it a show to remember. Our next event will be Christmas in July so stay tuned for those details soon. Under 11: Was a fresh start to the morning with the kids having to warm themselves up before the game to get going. Once again they all a acked the ball hard with some great hard contests. They are star ng to man up and work well together in the backline stopping the other team’s a acks. Great teamwork chipping the ball to one and other down the ground and sharing the ball in front of goal is also great to see. Awards went to Jack Rowe, Jack Sporer, Maxx Bevan, Jobe Bell and Billy Brown. Junior Colts: Our young side came up against another strong opposi on but to their credit they fought hard and showed so much improvement from previous weeks and showed their coaches that they are listening to everything we are trying to teach them. We are taking steps forward every week and even though the scoreboard isn't going our way it's awesome to see the smiles and enjoyment on the kids faces. Best players were Kaden Bell with great tackling and using his run, Hunts running hard and in straight lines from down back, Eli Bowman taking a lot of great marks and reading the play well, Summer Batchelor presen ng well up forward and giving her all when needed in the ruck - can't wait to see her starring in the AFLW in the future. Jake Bevan working extremely hard all day with his footy smarts ge ng to all the right spots and Zak Linnell for his hard tackling and best game since joining the club. Senior Colts: We have set ourselves some small posi ve
targets over the last few weeks and have really started hi ng them. We hosted the bay boys at Tigerland looking for another big challenge and that it was. Our boys stuck to their game plan and played some really good footy, kicking to space, providing voice and tackling hard proving to ourselves that discipline and sacrifice does pay off. Great game boys. Be er players were Ellis, Cade, the Simmons brothers Ryan and Sam and young Rowey rounding out the top five. A men on must go to the junior boys that step up each week and the obvious improvement that's coming into your games - well done lads Kaden, Lucas, Jake, Eli and Ethan. Reserves: A great game played at home against Port Mac and finally got to scratch a win up on the board. Led the whole game with great pressure and teamwork to secure it. Stepping up for us was Darcy Hogan in the ruck as well as kicking goals to get best on ground. Other best players where Chris McCallum, Ma Nelson, Marky Bell, Nathan Chapple and Aaron Trowbridge. A Grade: G'day everyone. Last week we hosted Port Mac Demons. A er pu ng up with some average weather the last two weeks it was great to play in a game with sunshine and no breeze. Unfortunately we didn't capitalise on the good weather by playing good football. Port Mac came switched on and came to play. We found that a good side grounded us quite quick and small errors were turned on us pre y quick. With a few late goals we were able to gain a bit of pride back but this me Port Mac went home with the choccies. Junior Colts: What a glorious day for footy it was, the sun was shining and no wind. We went into the game having a few of our older lads not playing. This meant that it gave other kids the opportunity to step into different roles. A er a sluggish start we found our feet quickly and then started performing the way we know we can. Our team game has stepped up to another level this year and the way in which the kids are willing to give and get into the right posi ons to receive the ball is very pleasing to watch. Our best players for the day were 1st Zane Lewis who stepped in and played a tremendous game on the ball. 2nd was Nash Perryman who played his best game for the season so far and rarely wasted a disposal. 3rd Zaylen Smith who played a great game up forward and on the ball taking some nice marks and finished with 3 goals for the day. 4th Harry Carroll who con nues to find the footy and creates numerous turnovers for us. 5th Tyler Neale who was a live wire up forward kicking 2 goals and dishing a couple off. 6th Tyron Howard who played a very skilful game hi ng targets by foot, kicked 2 goals and took a couple of nice marks. Well done on a great team effort. Now we look forward to the challenge that the next couple of games will bring.
to dread Thursday when it rolls around and the search for the weekend’s team starts taking every magnet off the board and star ng fresh again. The last few weeks we have started to get a few older players back which has been pleasing. The game was certainly the closest of the year with the margin being no more than 2 or 3 goals for the whole game and in the last quarter it ghtened right up and the boys were within is a few points with momentum going our way however, Tantanoola were able to steady the ship, kick another couple of goals, and take a heartbreaking win. Heads up boys, keep persevering and even a li le training the magical win will come. Best players were Tyreese Newton, Joel Newton-Anderson, Christopher Driver, Rory Na rass, Connor Richards, Luke Richards.
B Grade: As we head into round 8 the year could only be described as tough. Like many teams this year numbers have been tough to come by and ge ng them on the track for a training session has been near impossible. Last week we come up against the also winless Tantanoola, who would be suffering the same issues. Coach Donovan must really be star ng
A Grade: A er a close and heart breaking loss against Robe in the previous game the senior boys were looking to get back on the winners board as we headed for the round 7 clash against Tantanoola, a side that is on the same amount of wins and only sits behind us on the ladder only by percentage. To say this was an important game to win would be an understatement. Thankfully the game went to plan from our perspec ve with the boys making every post a winner, and seizing the chance to take out a very nice win against a very tough opponent, with the added bonus of increasing the all important percentage by a li le bit which will be crucial as the season looks to be so ght from 3rd down. Best for the week were Kyall McClean, Brandon Newton, Wade Chant, Raegan Clarke, William Macdonald, Lennox Lewis.

A Grade: An absolute cracker day for football in what was also a massive day for the club having our sponsors day and also the 2002 premiership reunion. We took on Kongorong at home and with a big focus on having a really good 4 quarter effort we set the tone for the day in the first with a 9.9 goal quarter. Our boys were tough on the inside and with slick ball movement and quick play on the outside we gave our forwards good delivery which in turn resulted in a really good win. Jack Skeer (7 goals) and Brad Mitchell (5 goals) were both outstanding up forward. Jordy Galpin and Lewis Walker both had heaps of the football and had excep onal delivery into our forward 50. This week we head over to Port Mac for another tough physical game. Go Eagles! B Grade: What a cracking day for football, it had a real September feel about it with a big crowd in the gates for our sponsors day and 20 year reunion celebra ons! We knew we were going to get a challenge from the Kongorong boys, and our boys were up for it from the first bounce. We hit the ground running, full of intensity and our tackling pressure was second to none playing some good football. We finished off the game very strongly kicking 7.2 in the last and topping off a good team performance. Rural found himself amongst the goals kicking a bag of 9 and earning BOG. Wa o was unstoppable across the half back line and got second best! Big Reggie gave his heart and soul all day in the ruck to take out third best. Dylan Vanderhorst claimed fourth best with his hard nut footy all over the ground. Bre Watson made a strong come back a er 3 weeks on the sidelines to earn 5th. Once again a big thank you to all our sponsors, without you we wouldn't have somewhere to run around on a Saturday. Senior Colts: Last week we played at the nest against the Kongorong Hawks. It was a pre y special day for our club as we had mul ple events on. It was our sponsors day and we thank all our sponsors for
everything they do for us, we wouldn't be able to have a run around on Saturdays without them. We also had a premiership reunion from 2002, which we think made the whole day of footy pre y special. With the sun shining and not a breath of wind, the boys started off the game strong with a fantas c first quarter boo ng 4 goals to Kongorong’s 1. Our movement and a ack was unreal. We would have liked to con nue that form for the rest of the game but the boys unfortunately managed to let Kongorong back into the game with a few lapses. It turned out to be a very tough game and I think a few boys were surprised on how the Hawks came out and played. In the end though we got the win with the final score being Hath 76 to Kongorong 52. Our be er players for the day were Tyson Atkinson, who kicked 3 goals from the midfield and had a ton of the footy. Bailey Linder and Blake Werchon once again played there usual games winning the footy from the midfield and using it very well around the ground. Jack Bellinger was good all day stepping up in some big moments. Je Faulkner once again had plenty of run and carry off of the half back and provided a lot of courage taking some big hits and ge ng straight back up. We are excited to head down to the bay to take on the Demons. Junior Colts: A tough ba le last week against the benchmark of the junior compe on Kongorong. With a ght first quarter seeing both teams scoreless, going into the second the team fought hard but unfortunately Kongorong kicked a couple of late goals to our 2 points. Our back 6 did a great job all game rebounding the ball well, we just couldn't quite crack the Kongorong defence and hit the scoreboard as much as we would like. Super proud of the en re team’s effort across all 4 quarters. I couldn't fault our tackling and want for the footy, it was right up there with one of the best efforts for the season so far. Well done to Harry Baker for kicking a goal!

First off, a massive shout out to our trainer Mandy Stephens who had a hec c day last week, all the me keeping cool, calm and collected. Big thanks also to Legh, Kane and Ma who helped out, and a speedy recovery to the injured. Under 11: The team played their strongest game for the year, with a wet and slippery ball making the game that li le bit harder for them. They tackled well all game and worked hard to get the ball. Keep up the great work! Intersport Award went to Mac Brant, President's Award to Eli Aikenhead, Angelino Family Award to Billy Angelino, Coach's Award to Charlie Lasle , Club Award to Iziah Hunt and Donut King to Zach Angelino. Junior Colts: The trip to Hatherleigh is always a tough one and this round was no different. The 1st half was a real ba le of defences, with the young Hawks ge ng the be er of the contest, before kicking away late in the game to record a good, but tough win. Best players and awards went to Lilly Gordon - Rarcoola Structural, Ryan Taylor - The Rocks Shop Award, Jacko Bald - Spot-On Fishing Award, Noah VS-D - Mick Mullan Award, Cohen Galpin - Coaches Award, Zayne Parsons - Janeway Plumbing Award. Huge challenge next up against the very strong, and undefeated, Glencoe side. Senior Colts: We travelled down to Hatherleigh to verse yet another very strong side. Just like every week, our inten on was to play the game the way we play, well. With run and carry, first gives and unselfishness football. Hatherleigh got on top in the first quarter with a couple quick unanswered goals. Coming into the second quarter I stressed to our boys, if we wanted to beat a team like them then our work rate across the ground needed to be be er. The next three quarters of football was the best game play I've seen this year. They worked for each other, showed aggression to the footy and willingness to move the ball fast. Will Von Stanke was best on ground for us, he was a class above the rest, taking home the Ma hews Petroleum Award. Following in second best Campbell Graney receiving the MT Wheels Award, Brycie Von StankeDowie earnt the Swallow Drive Meats Award, Maverick Cooper the Mick Mullan Award, Kurt Lasle the Coaches Award and Harrison Elletson comple ng the best players with the Badenoch Deli Award. Although we went down by a narrow margin, I am not disappointed with our efforts. From here we will regroup and take on the

spuds at home this week. Also, another outstanding effort by Mackye Baron playing in Glenelg again last week. Onwards and upwards. Go Hawks! Reserves: Well at least it was a beau ful sunny day. Hatherleigh showed us exactly how to play the game, and hopefully reinforced the style and work rate we are striving for to our boys. Cannot fault the effort of all the guys and with a few guys going down with injuries, some of the older legends of the club would have been nervous as the coach started looking their way to see if they had their gear in the car. Best wishes to Callum Morrison a er his nasty day, and whilst we are at it, our thoughts are also with Nick Gilbert and club legend John Simkin dealing with serious injuries. The boys are turning up in good numbers at training and we will get to work over the next few weeks to build on our game. Jack Mullan was everywhere for best and the Collins Court Meats Voucher. Declan Robinson con nued his form and found plenty of it to get the Commercial Hotel Award. Wade Byrne was excellent down back and received the Club Tea Award. Ma Maidment worked his bu off and con nued to lead from the front taking home the Club Tea Award. William 'Sandy' Cameron showed how useful he is going to be for us, in an excellent first game for the club in the ruck and down back, receiving the Pick Ave Bakery & Deli Voucher. A Grade: Tough day at the office, coming in with a few more injuries, versing the well drilled Hatherleigh team. The boys ba led though and a few good patches of play to take out of it and hopefully reset and look forward to Glencoe this week. Aaron 'Kouta' Lightbody had a s nt in the ruck and took out the Bellum Hotel Award (Emily says thanks by the way). Commercial Hotel Award went to Ryan Vickery, followed by the Collins Court Meat Voucher going to the ever-consistent Ma Cordy. Brad Long chipped in to earn the Club Tea Award, along with Sco 'Flemo' Fleming. Thanks to The Bellum Hotel for hos ng us Saturday Night for our Awards and meals, see you again in a few weeks a er the Port Mac game. This Saturday night teas will be put on by the netballers, followed by a disco for the kids. Thanks to all our volunteers that help make game days happen. Don't forget we host Interleague on the June long weekend, so put your hand up to help out and come along and enjoy some great footy.

When it rains, it pours. That was the story of our last game 2 weeks ago. We were well and truly short on players to the point where the Reserves almost had to forfeit their match. Thanks to Nathan who managed to find some last-minute fill ins on Friday night and Saturday morning. We struggled to find a new guernsey for everyone to squeeze into but managed to get a side out on the ground which is the main thing. I think the average age for our Reserves side was around 38 and the average for our A Grade was about 20, with only 8 blokes over 21 years of age. Nevertheless, we welcomed Hatherleigh who are probably the strongest club in the league all-round at the minute. Only our Junior Colts came away with a win from the 4 games. We then enjoyed the weekend off with the bye and a much-needed rest to rejuvenate and rest some sore bodies to hopefully see some numbers return to the training track and the field on game day. Junior Colts: In a much-an cipated game, the colts got off to a fast start kicking 4 goals to none in the first quarter kicking with the breeze. Hatherleigh then came back in the 2nd with 2 of their own. We held a 4-goal lead at the last change and managed to hold them to only 1 goal in the last quarter to run away with a 21-point win. This is our 6th win of the year and keeps us on top of the table as we head into our bye round. To kids should be very proud of their efforts so far this year and face the teams si ng 2nd and 3rd to finish the first round of footy before the Interleague break. Best players were Hamish Gordon, Tighe Hurley, Lachlan Brierley, Leslie Jagger, Thomas Richards and Tyler Rothall. Senior Colts: The Senior Colts came up against an always strong Hatherleigh team that has only lost 1 game. We were missing a couple of players and got off to a slow start against the strong wind, giving up 8 goals in the 1st quarter. The boys con nued to fight hard throughout the game and never gave up against a much more experienced opponent. We ended up going down by 110 points. Best players were Cam Brooks, Ben Weedon, Marcus McGrath, Cameron Braendler and Shane Longhurst. Reserves: The Reserves came out on the field with 2 short on the bench and some blokes who hadn't played

footy for over 10 years. Determined to put up a good fight a lot was le to our midfield and regular players. They fought a good fight and probably kept the score closer than some on the sidelines expected. Hopefully a er the bye we will see 'a lot' of players return and the boys can start to get back on the winners list and give Nathan a chance to actually put players in a spot on the field where they belong. Best players for the game were Marcus McGrath, Taylor McGrath, Shannon Megaw, Josh Agars and Bevan Lipscombe. A Grade: The A Grade had a very young side, which would have to rely on its speed to try and get the win as we faced a very experienced and always fit opponent. We started the game very slowly and almost seemed to have given in to the fact that we were going to lose. In the 2nd term we improved and managed to hold Hatherleigh to 1 goal even though they had a strong breeze. The 3rd quarter let us down a bit, although we kicked 2 goals ourselves, we allowed the lead to widen as Hatherleigh kicked 5 into the wind. In the last we kicked 4 goals to 5, but the game was already gone. Some improvements in transi on defence, skill execu on and fitness are needed to match these top sides. We ended up going down by 67 points. Best players were Dylan Childs, Sam Giersch, Jack Edmonds, Andy Gray, Harry Comley and Jack Miller. The bye weekend saw us celebrate our 50-club event which is always a massive day for the club and a great fundraiser. Many thanks to Zacc Cocks who did a lot of work to help promote, sell ckets and organise the event. There's been a lot of murmurings going around this week about how the leagues will now merge for 2023 and I've come to a decision about what to do. Unless all 3 leagues want to change then don't change anything. Our 37 kids cannot compete with the 175 which one local club has, and you cannot force families to change clubs, you will only lose par cipants, not gain. The more uneven the compe on the more likely clubs are to fold. Is this worth it just to please some power-hungry individuals? Today we head over to Kongorong for some tough, but hopefully winnable games. A er the week off let's hope we are fresh enough to have a full capacity of players to fill each side and run out each game.

ROUND 8 A GRADE NETBALL PREVIEW Mount Burr v Robe Second takes on third as the Roosters head to Mount Burr this weekend for a close match. There will be lots of good match ups the whole way down the court, with every player on the court giving their all and wan ng to gain every loose ball. Robe's Alannah Jennings and Mount Burr's Meg Fennell will be figh ng it out on the wing, and Jennings will have to stop Fennell's drive to the circle to limit her accurate passes into the Mozzie goalies. Ebony Clark is incredibly accurate in the goal circle, however Emma Grant and Ellen Ramke from Robe will make her earn every pass. The combina on of youngsters Madi Hagge and Olivia Dean will make every move difficult for Robe's goalies and chase up any rebounds. This game has the poten al to go either way, with both teams figh ng for the win.
Kalangadoo v Tantanoola A er a rough start to the season, Abbey Duncan's return to the Magpies has provided strength and confidence to their line-up. Tantanoola will endeavour to rain on that parade this week with the accuracy of Emma Gould and Jami Walker in the circle
goal circle. Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe will fight to create turnovers for Tantanoola, however the accuracy of Duncan and Kori Collins will mean that any possession for the Magpies in the circle will most likely translate into a goal on the board. Casey Walker will feed with accuracy into the Tigers goalies, however the added pressure of Lauren Kain, Shanen Pulkkinen and Reanna Weatherall in the defensive end for Kalangadoo will not make it easy. A er a tough fight Kalangadoo will come away with the win.
Port MacDonnell v Hatherleigh The Eagles are heading down to the Bay this weekend to ba le it out with the seaside team, with both teams ba ling for fourth posi on. Hatherleigh's Demi Vanderhorst and Lara MacGregor will fight hard in the defensive end to prevent Toni Gilmore's accuracy within the goal circle. Alana Winter and Belinda O'Dine for Port MacDonnell will put the pressure on within the Eagles' goal circle in order to keep Abby Wight and Maddie Redman from having too much possession of the ball, with both goalies' accuracy being a focal point of recent games. Playing coach Narelle Lewis is a vital part of
Port MacDonnell's a ack, with the ability to feed into her goalies with ease. Brooke Williams and Erin Watson will tussle it out through the midcourt, chasing any loose passes and pu ng pressure on down the court. This game will be a tough one for both teams, and the outcome could go either way.
Kongorong v Glencoe Glencoe will enter round eight well rested a er the bye last week, and ready to meet the Hawks at Kongorong. Kongorong's Tori McIntyre and Sarah Lucas combine well together in the defensive circle and will put the pressure on Glencoe's goalies, Laura Edwards and Jenna Paproth. Down the other end of the court Sarah Edwards and Chelsea Owen will be working hard to curb the influence of Tilah Buckingham in goals for the Hawks, who is consistently accurate, and is backed up by Evie Sealey under the post to pull in any poten al rebounds. Kate Wright will fight hard and work for every possession for the Hawks, as well as placing the ball into her goalies with precision. Both teams will fight for the win, however Glencoe will finish the day with the points.

Junior 2: The girls stepped onto the court full of enthusiasm as usual but surprised me in playing the most professional game I have ever seen from them. They con nued to execute what they've learned in trainings into their game, scoring amazing goals and comple ng many clean intercepts. The girls worked effortlessly as a team, were able to play in a variety of posi ons and managed to score a goal within three passes. Smashing effort girlies super proud! Junior 1: Girls played an awesome game against Nangwarry! We had lots of turnovers and lots of talk out on court. We s ll have lots of things to work on but the girls are always going out there pu ng in the effort and having fun! We had a few missing last week, with help from some of the Junior 2s filling in thanks to Scarle , Sydniee and Zariah. Best player went to Sydniee who put in lots of effort in each quarter and got plenty of turnovers! Well done girls. 13 & Under: Well done girls, we played a great game in beau ful weather at Nangwarry. Stella and Holly are combining well in the circle and with some lovely shoo ng. Lexi, Callie and Becky star ng to apply strong defensive pressure and crea ng many turnovers. Sophie, you are crea ng space through the middle and driving strongly to the ball. Gemma pu ng lots of pressure on the opposi on centre with ge ng hands to ball from using your outside arm. Awards: Harper & Co - Georgia and Enchanted Beauty by Brianna - Amy. B Grade: Well done girls on a consistent effort last week. It was great to see people adapt to new posi ons with new combina ons due to the team changing once again. Lara and Stacey combined well in defence and changed their game to adapt to different goalies helping Lara to win the Cafe Melzar award. Tess worked hard to limit the WA drive on to the circle edge. Great to have Mackenzie and Jemma fill in and create drive through the centre. Madi and Lani combined well in goals, improving and looking like as the game went on. Lilly made intercepts down the court when double teaming defence down the court and driving strongly onto the circle. She was awarded the Harper and Co award. Congratula ons on a hard fought win in a close game. We hope Sally recovers quickly and thank her for scoring as well as Heidi for umpiring. A Reserve: Great job girls, you all gave everything you could. Injuries put a few girls on the sidelines hopefully we have them back on the court soon. Some nice passages of play, just some li le things to try and work on and improve but it looks be er each week. Hopefully we can start to get some consistency in the team from now. Awards - Brianna (Harper and Co) Heidi (Café Melzar). Thank you to Larissa and Kelly for scoring. Jasmine, Mae and Makaylah for playing and si ng on the bench. A Grade: Condi ons were perfect and we were looking forward to bouncing back from our loss to Kalangadoo in our previous game. It was good to see the girls star ng to bring what we work on at training into our game. There were some good passages of play all over the court and we played so much be er as a team. Maddie Gamble proved she was able to hold her own when she was given the opportunity. Well done Maddie. Final score Mt Burr 52 - Nangwarry 30. Awards from Enchanted Beauty by Brianna and Harper & Co went to Simone Westerman. Big thank you to Karen for scoring, Tanya our Primary Carer and Amy for Umpiring.
Junior 2: What a game to watch. Taking the court against Kalangadoo is always a nerving one. But the girls went out with no expecta ons this week, and WOW what an achievement it was. The girls are really se ling into posi ons and taking everything they learn at training each week and pu ng it into ac on. They're finding space and moving the ball down the court almost effortlessly, it's great to watch. With a few goals being scored it's definitely boos ng their confidence on the court and the improvement is just amazing. Incen ve went to Madison for having a ripper game a er not playing for 2 weeks. She went out and ran her li le heart out ge ng some great turn overs. Well done! 13 & Under: Robe 16 Kalangadoo 55. Unfortunately, we didn't come away with a win against Kalangadoo, however we were super happy with our whole teams efforts. Our heads were held high the en re game, which is what we like to see. There were great passages of play the en re game as the girls seamlessly moved the ball down the court. Although Kalangadoo got away from us slightly, watching the game did not reflect this. Millie brought height into our a acking end in the second half and we started to get a leg up against some taller defence. Mackenzie, Tess, Milla, Millie and Kaitley used their forward posi ons to hold a strong front in the a ack line whilst our defence (Olivia, Holly, Lacey) worked relessly, picturing every ball as theirs. Our best player (Union Café) went to Olivia Cheug for playing her absolute heart out all game, ge ng game turning intercepts in all four quarters. Holly Varga came away with our incen ve (The Pastry Place) for prac cing and taking on board all of our coaching and team managing sugges ons. We look forward to working on our game further in the upcoming rounds. 15 & Under: Robe 13 Kalangadoo 56. This was always going to be a tough game with Kdoo girls being very strong. We s ll played well and had some great passages of play even with all the changes made. We need to polish up our skills on the general rules of netball and use this to help us with our basic skills. We are a good side with plenty of depth and versa lity, and we should be able to use this to our advantage. We need to focus on what posi on we want to play and play it well as a team. Best player (Salubrious Smoothies) went to Charlie for her consistency in each posi on she was put and 100% effort. Incen ve (Robe Seafood & Takeaway) went to Demi for playing as a team, giving 100% and running a great half at C. 17 & Under: Robe 53 Kalangadoo 28. Yes queens! Top of the ladder! You wanted it and you got it! We are very proud of your efforts and your determina on to get there. First win ever against Kalangadoo and boy did it feel good! You all adjusted your game each quarter and kept the
intensity for the whole game. Best player (Union Café) went to Libby for a strong game in defence and consistent backing up, talk and help to drive that ball down the court. Incen ve (Me & Miss Jones) went to Ella who nailed the hold to drive into the ring and adjusted to coming forward. Let's keep our heads though, there's a difference between confident and cocky. We are confident in each other within our team and confident we can work hard to stay top. Drive that feeling to the Burr for another challenging game. B Reserve: Robe 16 Kalangadoo 51. Always a toughie but the B Rez girls from Robe played an admirable game and come off fairly happy with the result. We were missing Rhi's height all over the court. It was Imy's last game for the Roosters as she follows her beau back to NSW. Good luck Imy, you will definitely be missed both on and off the court, and we will see you as promised for the end of year trip. We had 3 out so in comes junior goalie Siena Brooks for a second s nt this year. Thanks chik. Calcu a (Me & Miss Jones) went to dynamo Jess Svic who jumped up and down countless mes as goal defence. My incen ve (Salubrious Hour) went to Liv Valente who had a big job in GK but kept smiling. She is week by week picking up new skills in D - I imagine ge ng your head around the job against strong teams is no easy feat but Liv is keen to learn. So, from 11 to 10 girls in the team. Juggling the side is challenging as a playing coach, but it's the bonds of mateship that count as you travel along the journey that also count in sport. B Grade: Robe 29 Kalangadoo 59. Best player (Holiday) - Tamara Jess, Incen ve (The Eighth Le er) - Sophie Kokiousis. A Reserve: Robe 36 Kalangadoo 47. We all went into this game so confident that we could come away with the win, and really we should have. Silly errors in the first quarter set us up for catch up netball for the next 3. Great defensive pressure right down the court saw us get mul ple turnovers but it just wasn't enough to peg back the scoreline. We all need to work on our full game fitness and work rate so we can put in throughout the en re last quarter and con nually back each other up. Calcu a (Loaves & Fishes) went to Ash Hunt and Incen ve (Pure Luxe) to Kimberley Aus n. A Grade: Robe 35 Kalangadoo 42. We knew we had to give it our all to get over the line against Kalangadoo. It was a great tough game, I'm proud of the girls for playing a solid four quarters and figh ng un l the end. With a few changes to the team and injuries from the previous week, we adapted well, with a few of us in different posi ons, once again proving how versa le we are. However, we just couldn't quite get there, with a few things to work on, we will come out stronger next round. Calcu a (Steve's Place) went to Annie Hunter and Incen ve (Union Café) went to Emma Grant.

NETball club notes Junior 2: Mini Magpies had another great game on Saturday against Robe. Our numbers were low, but luckily we had Harper to sit bench and help out, so firstly thanks to Harper! Next point of call was our best players, with Olivia, Heidi and Willow coming away with an award each. They all played great, used their voice well and had great team spirit. The basics of footwork, passing and team work, really shining through now. Elana had another blitzer with mul ple intercepts yet again. It's great to have her a en on, she has a lot of poten al. Ariella had her first game at GD and showed her speed and enthusiasm. Grace and Heidi in the mid court, working well, always represen ng well beyond their years. Olivia got a chance at C and didn't disappoint. Tahlia had another great game with GA and GS, keep that great a tude girls, you are all amazing and your growth is inspiring. We look forward to Adele, Charlo e, and Gracie back this week, let's go Pies! Junior 1: Our talented li le juniors did another awesome job last week and I was pleased to see so much improvement yet again when it came to unfamiliar posi ons and footwork. Everyone put in a massive defensive effort and did all the li le things when told to. Everyone had a turn at shoo ng and scored lots of sneaky goals. So happy mostly, to see everyone following our golden rule and that is to have fun. TeKani Maccas, Ashley Ma lda - Subway. 13 & Under: Once again, our team stepped up to cover the loss of a player before the game. Lucy, great driving and accurate shoo ng (Hungry Jack’s); Molly, proving you don't have to be tall to be effec ve (Paradise Pizzas); Ava, showing her strength in different posi ons (Subway) and Zara (Devine Gi s) took out the awards. Congratula ons to Elisa on ge ng her girls to the game with minutes to spare - never in doubt! Thanks to Jorja for si ng bench and to Kylie for scoring in Judy's absence. 15 & Under: Great game everybody. We love that you are listening to our feedback and trying to incorporate it in your game. Kiera (Wendy's) provided op ons and a voice in WD and WA and is improving every week. Maya (Subway) applied lots of pressure and controlled the play. Chloe (Hungry Jack’s) as always gave us lots of the ball and leadership down the court. Great team game, you should be proud of yourselves. Also thank you Carmen for our half me spread! 17 & Under: Another great team game. It's great to see us keep our heads and s cking to our own game despite what is happening around us. Ebony had another brilliant game, having touches all over the court and reading the play incredibly well. Jenna con nues to move so well in the circle, proving to be a reliable op on. Thank you to our 15s again for filling in the gaps so capably, and to Kori and Sophie for understanding their role as senior players also some mes means coming off in 17s - as a club we really
NETball club notes appreciate it. And also thank you to Mel and Lucy for their input. B Reserve: A welcome surprise to have two experienced, badged umpires officia ng our match - much appreciated by coach and players. However, it did expose many errors in our basic skills of the game footwork, passing, correct 3-foot distance, and clumsy defence etc. All things for us to work on. Overall, a good performance from the team a er losing two players to the dreaded Covid. Jodi (only hit the court once!), Sam (imita ng Emma's drive down court!), and Chelsea (thankfully free of “bondage”!) were named best, receiving the Federal, Shelton’s Butcher and RSL Awards. Emma Smith again received Devine Gi s award, keen to ask ques ons and challenge her defensive skills in another posi on. With no “gripes” about opponents or umpire calls at any of the breaks or end of the game it really was an enjoyable day at the office! Thanks Emily and Deb for si ng bench and Leanne for scoring in Judy's absence. B Grade: We had a really strong start and we were able to gain a lead that each quarter we were able to con nue to extend. We slipped a li le in the third quarter with not doing the 1 percenters and with posi onal changes for the whole team which took me to adjust. The last quarter we were able to se le and regained our momentum. Imogene had a great four quarters and implemented all that we have been working on during training. Bel shot accurately and making great passages of play. Schultz had an all-around great game going from one end of the court and crea ng lots of opportuni es to turn it over. Imogene - Collins Court Butcher, Bel - Federal, Schultz - St Mary's. A Reserve: Was so pleased to be back on the sideline with a por on of our team. We started the game strongly, but Robe kept pushing back hard with every small break we got. Shanae and Georgia worked so well along with Chloe to keep providing our a ack with turnover opportuni es and by the last quarter it paid off. Anthea and Zoe provided consistent feeding and although Robe kept our shooters on their toes they kept persis ng and came away with a strong lead. Special men on to Georgia, Chloe, Tegan and Eb who con nue to support the A Res on and off the court by filling in and si ng bench it's greatly appreciated. Zoe - Terry White Chemart, Georgia Best Wishes. A Grade: A good team performance from all players with some posi ve signs against quality opposi on. Re, Lauren and Soph worked hard causing turnovers and driving strongly out of defence. We were pa ent in a ack and had some nice passages of play. It was pleasing Robe supplied the sunny condi ons (unfortunately not the surf) and even had some of us on edge scrambling for some cash. Best players: Re (Fasta Pasta), Kirst (Collins Court Butchers).
Junior 2: What an awesome day for netball. The girls all did an amazing job, with lots of goals scored and many intercepts. However, we s ll need to work on staying on our own players. Awards went to Myla for awesome driving into space, and to Daisy for brilliant moving to post and shoo ng. Junior 1: Girls I am so impressed with your efforts against Pt Mac! Leading to the ball has improved so much, finding the space on the court. We got the ball down the court to score goals! Everyone played their posi ons with confidence. Awards went to Summah O'Brien and Pippa Bromley for the great defence and a acking abili es. 13 & Under: A really challenging game as Port Mac were a very wellpolished side. It was great to see all of you girls using some of the new set ups we prac ced at training on the court, there was definite improvement in your movement down the court. We will keep working on this each week. Remember to use your voices out on the court, and always back each other up. Awards went to Peyton Bowman for her focus on winning the ball and Ebony Gardin for con nuing to improve in confidence each week. 15 & Under: A warm day for netball and we came up against Pt Mac. With Kaitlyn away le us with 6 and our reliable 13's to fill in for the second week in a row. I do love the way our team has been able to adjust with posi onal changes on court and including our 13's into the game. A tough game but we fought ll the end never giving up. Our 2 things we need to work on is our passing and leading which will come with more prac ce. We are star ng to improve as a team which is great to see. Demi is really star ng to move well in her posi on and got the Tant Meal Voucher. Grace puts in 110% every game with many intercep ons and got the Wendy’s Award. 17 & Under: Bad luck girls. A definite winnable game but a good chance to see where we need to work a li le harder and focus a li le more. Passing was so much be er so well done to all of you. The improvement is there each week so credit to you all for listening and working hard. In tough games like this we need to remember to take it slow and come together as a team. Not a bad game girls! Onwards and upwards girls. You all gel so well on and off the court so things can only get be er. B Reserve: Came up against a very strong and well-oiled Pt Mac team who were too tough and took the win. As challenging as the game
was, we need to be able to use games like these to learn and improve our own netball game. Remember to always keep improving on the basics as this is what the strong are built upon. Our a acking end played a great game, really started to flow with each other and play as one unit. Best players went to goalies Hijisa and Em, great to see the girls movement prac ce paying off. B Grade: A disappoin ng game for us against a strong, physical opposi on, losing Bek and Laylah to injury early. Hope to have you both back on the court again soon. We need to focus on playing our own game and not get sucked in to le ng the opposi on dictate the speed in offence. Leah played a great game really listening to instruc ons from the coach and pu ng them in to prac ce. Gemmah and Kim fought hard in defence all game. Our a ack line tried their best all day but struggled with accuracy, missing 2 regular players. Keep your heads up girls, there were s ll plenty of posi ves! Tant 27 lost to Pt Mac 64. Best players: Leah Kuiper and Gemmah Cook. A Reserve: Last Saturday brought us be er playing condi ons than last weekend. We finally had our first game with a full team and you all put in your efforts. We are star ng to blend together as a team and work out combina ons. Our passes are ge ng be er and we are coming to the ball more which is allowing us to get the ball from one end to the other smoothly. The defensive work in the circle by Amy, Ella and Michelle was great with pressure and rebounding. Chloe is ge ng her hands on to so many loose balls and pu ng in a 10/10 effort in WD. Sally and Danni working well in the mid court and feeding to our goalies. Rach and Amy-lee are moving well in the circle and finding the space and me to pop out. Great effort again girls, keep it up! Best: Amy Mason McCourts Garden Centre voucher, Danni Vanderheul - Tant Ladies Commi ee meal voucher. A Grade: Bad luck girls. A disappoin ng loss for us but I really admire the hard work you all put in and never gave up. I think we know we can win that game and if we con nue to work hard at trainings I know we will. Tayla and Kate, you impress me each week and are playing so well together as a unit. Ebs played a great game and did the job we asked of you. A big thank you to Michelle, Danni and Ella who sat on our bench, I really appreciate it. Let's work hard this week girls! Awards went to Eb and Casey.
port macdonnell NETball club notes Junior 1: Another great game girls. So pleasing to see you pu ng what we prac ce into the game. We had some great passages of play looking for the right lead. Amazing shoo ng by Torah! I thought we found your posi on at WA but you con nuously impress me each week as you grow in confidence and skill. Torah won the Wendy's award. Evie played a brilliant game both in defence and a ack. Cu ng off many passes and showing some lovely front cuts. Evie received the Hungry Jack’s award. A special men on to Lily for using her right arm when defending and Emily and Daisee for great movement and passing in the circle. Juniors 2: Great game girls, keep up the hard work. There was lots of great plays bringing the ball down the court. We just need to remember to come front to get the ball. 1st best was Ana (Hungry Jack’s) who played a very good game leading to the ball and ge ng a few intercepts. 2nd best was Zariah (Fasta Pasta) you are really coming out of your shell and ge ng your hands to a lot of the ball. Let's go out and have another crack this week. 13 & Under: Congratula ons girls on another great game. We have really come together and started to play really well in a team. Our transi ons down the court out of defence and finishing with some great goals. Our improvement with our passes and footwork is amazing to see, our three feet is much be er the things we learn at training we are pu ng into game days and it's paying off. We s ll have a lot to work on with our lanes and quick movements down court. Bailee and Lilly were amazing in the goal circle first quarter, Isla and Ivy your leads down court is great out talks at training is now shown on game days, Lilly Pe ngill and Layla and Mia wow, what great skills you guys have and communica on on court is so rewarding. Chelsea and Kasey no ma er where us coaches put you girls you know the jobs that needs to be done. Great game girls, you should all be proud. Best players went to Chelsea (Boost Juice), Kasey (Hungry Jack’s). 15 & Under: Well done girls, back on the winners list. Great to see our passing is improving, our ming and leading in front is all star ng to happen. Great shoo ng by the goalies. Great rebounding at both ends. Fasta Pasta awards to Bella McLean and Lillie Lamb. 17 & Under: What a cracking day for netball! It was hot, we were red, but we persisted. And it led to the result being in our favour! It is great to see you girls individually pick up on things during play on game days and then doing something about it. This is the exact kind of thing Issy and I want to see and it is great. Tant are a very tough side with some serious talent, and it was that standard of netball that we need to get used to playing. Jorja Mason was awarded best on (Fasta Pasta) and Grace Jacob (Boost Juice). B Reserve: Great defence by

everyone turning the ball over at different stages of the game. We need to hold our leads to get our ming perfect but our persistence and backing each other up won us this game. Awards: Paige - Victoria Hotel Shipwreck Bistro & Robyn - Fi h & Madison plus Chemist King vouchers. B Grade: A strong start across the court by all. We hit the court focused and determined. It was great to see what we prac ced at training was in our game play and court structures. Our passing and ball delivery was precise. Skill errors were keep to a minimum, which was our aim. Our defence combina ons worked relessly all game crea ng turnovers. Brooklyn and Rachel posi oned well in the circle to take the defensive rebound. Working for each other to get their hands to many balls. The combina on of Elivia, Jess, Candice and Georgia in the a ack line provided us with many op ons to deliver the ball to. Working on and off the ball for each other created beau ful space to deliver the ball too. Elivia and Jess played outstanding first half together shoo ng accurately, showing that our persistence work pays off! Kelly came off the bench to impact and provided added pressure in the defence. It was a fantas c team effort and it felt like everyone had each other's back and played for their team mates. Brooklyn Jones Shipwreck Bistro Victorian Hotel Port MacDonnell, Elivia Stanley - Pick Ave Deli Bakery. A Reserve: Great win girls in warm condi ons, you ba led hard all game. We again hit the court with a new combina on, and your willingness was to adapt is a credit to you all. Sares a great start to you first run in goals for the season, you stood tall and combined well with Keyarnah. You both finished out the game very strong. Isabella you as always ran hard all day, a credit to you for being able to run out a whole game in that warmth. When the drives were on Montanna you hit your targets, and Arriella great defensive work in trying to shut down your opponent. Izy and Kaitlin you combined extremely well considering it was your first ou ng together, your mely intercepts and strong rebounds were an valuable contribu on. S ll plenty to iron out and take on board the lessons for our downfalls. Con nue to work hard, learn and grow at training and it will show on court. A well deserved win and strong finish which you all should be proud. Best players: Isabelle Sneath (Victoria Hotel) and Isabelle Lamb (Lima & Co). A Grade: Tough game girls, but we fought hard right to the end to come away with the win. The weather condi ons where completely different to last week. We played our own game, but we let Tantanoola ra le us in the 3rd, we need to be able to adapt to changes quickly and con nue to play our game. We had some great passages of play but need to keep building and working hard. Best - Liza Mutch and Belinda O'Dine.
Junior 2: It was great to see some of you using strong shoulder passes. Defensively you all chased and jumped on the loose balls. We played ghtly on our players making if hard for them to receive the ball. In our a ack line I loved seeing you chase some dodges and change of direc on. Remember to keep moving if we don't receive the ball so that someone else can run into that space. Thank you and well done to Hadlie and Addi for helping us out. Awards: Emma McGrath (HLC), Georgina Hassell (Corner Clip), Charlo e Chambers (Dentons Sportspower). Junior 1: A er a bit of a shaky start the J1 girls se led quickly into their posi ons. Leyla and Livvi were dominant in goals, working the triangles confidently before finishing with a shot. Tilly and Alirah were a speedy combina on through the centre. Their hands over the ball and quick transi ons making it hard for Kongorong to move the ball freely. Paige and Arabella read the ball beau fully, using quick footwork to get around for the intercept. Myla, Violet and Kaia slo ed easily into the team, s cking ght to their player, and backing up when needed. Overall, our ball movement con nues to improve as we make quicker decisions and look for the best op on. Another solid effort by the li le eagles. Awards: Paige Walters (Java Café), Livvi Faulkner (HLC), Leyla Marshall (Macca's). 13 & Under: We started off strongly and con nued to capitalise on our lead every quarter. Sylvie and Sienna combined well in the circle. Olivia H used plenty of prelims and had excellent vision into the circle. Olivia Beggs, Meeka and Poppy had hands over every ball, making it difficult for their opponents. Olivia Bellinger worked relessly under post, out rebounding everyone down both ends of the court. It was great to see us working together as a team, crea ng space for each other and backing each other up. Awards: Sylvie Barlow (Java Café), Olivia Bellinger & Poppy Fitzgerald (Denton Sportspower). 15 & Under: What a super effort from these girls, everyone stepped up and did their bit as is indica ve of the score. Niah is proving to be very versa le and excelling at both ends of the court. Kalli slots from midcourt to goals and doesn't miss a beat. Eva had her best game and is offering plenty in a ack. Ayrlie and Kyah got plenty of hands to ball, giving us plenty of drive. Hailey also worked hard at GS and is really taking everything on board. Thanks to Poppy, Leni and Liv for helping out and Amber for helping on the bench. Awards: Eva Thomas (Ducky's Surf), Hailey McGrath & Ayrlie Chambers (HLC). 17 & Under: Awards: Elly Redden (Ducky's Surf), Niah Faulkner (HLC). B Reserve: I don't think the score can actually be a true indica on of the game, to Kongorong's credit they played a good strong game. Our first quarter was really scrappy, we played behind we didn't use the en re court and our passes let us down. It really took us un l half me to se le and play our own game our intensity was a lot stronger all over the court and we began to play. Nic, Sarah and Jess rotated in goals and all combina ons worked well. All three pu ng up some great shots. Grace had a great half game in WA and drove down the court and released the ball into the goalies beau fully. Sally was also solid. Defensively Amy, Stace, Fee and Lucy were really strong, they all got their hands to many balls and created many
turnovers. Thank you to Annake for scoring, Sarah for ming and Nic for primary caring. Awards: Nic Thomas (Somerset Hotel), Grace Abbot (Demi Rose Hairdressing), Fiona Jackman (HS&RC). B Grade: Kongorong have had some good results throughout the season, so we knew it was going to be tough. With a few girls star ng out of posi on we had a ght first quarter, scoring off lots of turnovers. At the start of the second quarter moving Charlie into GS and Hayley into GA made a massive difference in gaining our lead winning the quarter by fourteen goals, Charlie dominated that baseline! We managed to hold our lead with the defence doing a great job as always, Meg returning from Covid managed to hold the intensity for the whole game and Sophie and Ella created endless turns. Nat worked hard all day and fed well into the goalies while being a playing coach! Jas is showing up week a er week and is a consistent all-rounder ge ng her hands on lots of balls. Ellie Cook returned to the court a er being very unwell and she played a nice strong game mostly playing out of posi on with fantas c drives to the circle and feeding into the goalies. A big thank you once again to Heidi and Stacey for scoring and ming. Hopefully Paris will hit the court this week, we couldn't have done it without you, so thanks for primary caring, bench coach holding the phone so I could watch and try and coach from home! Awards: Charlie Muhovics (Somerset Hotel), Hayley Bell (Heaven on a Hanger), Elie Cook (Kelsey Wight Fitness), Jasmyne Bellinger (HSRC). A Reserve: A solid team effort from all girls resulted in a good win for the girls. In the absence of Maddie everyone stepped up and played their part. The talk and encouragement from all girls was fantas c. Abby had a great game at GA shoo ng well and encouraging and helping Liv with movement and space. Eliza slo ed into WA and found plenty of space around the ring. Helen was the cool head and steadied the ship whether at C or WD a posi on she s ll owns. Sarah and Millie were fabulous in defence, par cularly Millie who was BOC by a mile. It was one of those days where every team needed a helping hand so thanks to Erin, Jas, Nat and Georgia for your contribu on on court. To Cav, Lucy Chant and Paris for scoring and ming, Michell Pulmer who is super organised and a great person to have on the bench. It was a pleasure to help out. Awards: Millie Smith (Somerset Hotel), Eliza Mewe (HSRC), Abby Wight (Kelsey Wight Fitness), Helen Hamilton (Sassi). A Grade: It was a tough day at the office, this season has thrown up some curve balls, none more so than this game. I can honestly say I've never finished an A Grade game with six players on the court. Somehow, we scrapped out a hard-fought win, Abby had a massive work load playing eight quarters and stood up well to be our primary scorer. Demi a er the first quarter owned the GK posi on and had a blinder in her 100th game. Everyone had their moments, but we just couldn't shake a very determined Kongorong. We should be very happy to walk away with the win. A big congratula ons to Eliza on her first ever A Grade game. Chels, we hope your ankle comes up ok and George di o on the calf. Hopefully Tegz and Maddie are back this week fit and raring to go. Thanks to Michelle Pulmer for helping on the bench, Cav and Zali for ming and scoring. Awards: Demi Vanderhorst (Somerset Hotel), Erin Watson (Kelsey Wight Fitness), Abby Wight (HSRC).

NETball club notes Junior 1: Great game from the Junior 1 girls. Hatherleigh came out with a strong a acking side and our defence took it well with great rebounds and intercep ons Zoe showed her strength in rebounds and her intercep ons and Sophie assisted making them work extra hard for the ball. Holly was working defence with Havvi and Claire defending the outer circle. Overall all the Juniors lead well and are improving each week. Great work girls. Best players Zoe ($5 cash voucher) and Sophie (Boost Juice) 13 & Under: An awesome exci ng game played by our team! We began with only 5 of our team, with Holly A will and Sophie Milich filling in for us! With last minute changes, new members to the team and playing a strong side, the girls were incredible. They fought hard for the ball the en re game, and we celebrated every goal, with an end total of 24 goals! Very proud of the team is an understatement! Awards: Angelino family $10 - Imogen Vandepeer and Hungry Jacks Jac Angelino. 15 & Under: A tough game against a very strong team but you girls played well with everyone pu ng in 100%. Awards: Kongorong Canteen - Hayley, Hungry Jacks - Ruby. 17 & Under: Great game girls, was very happy that we were able to li ourselves up a er the last couple of weeks and come away with a win. We played a great 4 quarters showing how consistent we can be when we take our me with the ball and play our own game. Best players went to Jasmin McKinnon - Lima and Co, Kate Wright - Vanity. B Reserve: Hatherleigh is always going to be a tough game. We had some great passages of play during the
NETball club notes game but we were playing behind. It was very stop; start in places where it should have just flowed. We need to get in front and find our rhythm. There wasn't as much talking on court as there usually is and free players were being over looked for players who weren't in the best op on. We need to be crea ng space and leading down the court. Let’s remember what we prac ced at training and put it into play against Glencoe today. Awards: Macy - Commercial Hotel, Nat - Chemist King. B Grade: Great fight back girls. We did well seeing as half of you have had Covid last week. Let's regroup and get back on track this week. We need to work on our fitness so we can compe vely play a full 4 quarters. I love that you're playing as a team and suppor ng each other the way you do. Awards: Vanity Brooke Holmes, Fasta Pasta Sarah Gardin. A Reserve: Weather condi ons were 100% the opposite of last week. Back to standard netball prac ce and we came out cracking. Tightly contested first half. Our defence pressure over the court is our greatest asset and need to stay in the game during the circle work. Some great feeds in a ack and con nue to read and understand when to move quickly and when to be pa ent. One more game for the round and let's go out with a bang. Awards from the Commerical Hotel went to Heidi and Kelsey. A Grade: Great effort girls, not a win but we are ge ng closer! 4 consistent quarters allowed us to stay in the game the whole day and seen some great flowing ball and passages of play. It was a great game to play and a great game to watch. Best went to Kate (Lima and Co) and Tori (The Commercial Hotel). S ck around a er the Glencoe home game for netball teas and kids disco!
Junior 2: Great game girls and boy. A fantas c improvement, great to see what we have been learning at training going into the game. Metalworx Award went to Abbie and Lico Pty Ltd Award went to Ka e. Junior 1: Great game girls. It took us a while to wake up this morning but when we did we had a really good second half. Our game is s ll quite scrappy and our decision making isn't the greatest but we are slowly improving all our skills. First best (Eddie Kuhl Tyres Award) went to Charlo e with lots of great drives down the court - just need to remember to use her voice nice and loud. Second best went to Emmy for some great intercepts and reading of the ball. Let’s come out nice and refreshed a er the bye and ready to play some great netball. 13 & Under: 36-18. Amazing game girls - you all put your heart into the game. Violet Thorne, Chloe Childs and Taya Bellinger had a fantas c game in the goal ring with implemen ng what was learnt at training. Ruby Buckley, Isabella Brierley and Macy Williamson had an amazing game in defence with blocking out and ge ng rebounds. Layla Hawke had another strong game in centre with her intercepts and driving on point. Mackenzie Biggins had a fantas c game at WD with her defence and a acking play. Dycer Construc on Award went to Ruby for her intercepts across the court and mul ple turnovers. Second went to Chloe Childs for her movement in the goal ring with brilliant holds and her shoo ng accuracy. 15 & Under: 43-25. Great game girls. The first half of the game you played a great offensive and a acking game. Defence made Hatherleigh shooters work hard for possession. Second half saw some changes in posi ons and mid court found it a bit difficult to find space to move. Great hands and over ball pressure from both teams. Jena Jagger (Maloney Plumbing Award) had a never give up a tude. Maddy Bignell got second best and she put everything into the game that we prac ced at training and chasing many loose balls. The score doesn't reflect the team effort - you all played well. 17 & Under: 29-26. Great job girls! A great win and for many of you, your first ever win against Hatherleigh! It was a great team effort and everyone responded really well even when we changed things up quite considerably at half me. Your intensity and defensive pressure really increased and everyone worked hard on their movement and listening to things that we suggested! Jorja played well in goals and par cularly in the last quarter where she managed to find the post and make some great
space to earn the DeGaris Lawyers award and Lara tried hard all day through the middle to earn the KFC Award. Well done girls, let's try to keep the good form rolling this week! B Reserve: 37-25. Awesome win ladies! What a way to celebrate my 300th game. We all played an excellent controlled game and held our lead right from the start. We need to make sure we are listening at training when we are doing setups so everyone knows where to go - no ma er what posi on you are in. Best players went to the new defensive duo of Krystal (Key 2 Sale award) and Angela. B Grade: 34-39. Not one of our be er games girls but again with an adjusted/new team we did our best. The new Mrs Dunsford (Planta on Treated Timber) ran the middle all day like she had never been away. At the other end of the court Sally (second best) tried hard all day as usual and rebounded limited opportuni es. At least we all know that we can definitely beat them next me. Today sees us again with a new line up and I can't thank the girls enough for filling in and benching for us each week. Go Murphies! A Reserve: 43-37. Excellent game girls - it was a tough one but everyone fought hard to the end which resulted in a win. Being down by 6 at half me and then coming back and winning by heaps was a great achievement and showed our determina on and drive that we have as a team. Sam (B&P Travel and Cruise Award) it was your best game yet - your consistency over the ball and drives was fantas c to see and so many intercepts especially when we needed it, well done. Abbie another great game your moving and popping has improved even since last week (second best). Feeding from Jessie and Alyce was great and being pa ent really paid off. Tameka - you had a tough opponent but it was pleasing to see your efforts and moving your feet to get around. Thank you again to Amber and Zoe for filling, you guys con nue to improve each week and you work at trainings is really paying off. Well done girls - great game and you all should be proud of your efforts. A Grade: 39-43. Bad luck girls. We had some good passages of play but need to work on focusing for a full four quarter performance. Big thank you to Laura (O'Brien Electrical Award) for stepping up and playing for us, you had a fantas c game coming front and worked well with Jenna (Commercial Hotel Award). Special men on to Chloe for a great contest all day on strong opponents. Thanks to Bec and Alyce for si ng bench. Let’s really put in the work at trainings to set us up for a strong second half of the season.

The second quarter saw Demi Vanderhorst come off the body and a ack the ball sending Hatherleigh into a ack on numerous occasions. The second half was once again an even affair with Hatherleigh holding a sevengoal buffer at three quarter me thanks to some clever feeding from Erin Watson. Injuries to Chelsea Galpin and Georgia Hunter saw Eliza Mewe enter the game in what was her first taste of A grade. Hatherleigh were able to scrap out a hard fought six goal win ending the game with six players, against a tenacious Kongorong ou it that worked hard for 60 minutes. Abby Wight was a focal point for the Eagles shoo ng a game high 45, closely followed by Buckingham for the Hawks. Best players - Hatherleigh: Demi Vanderhorst and Erin Watson; Kongorong: Kate Wright and Tori McIntyre. Nangwarry 30 lost to Mt Burr 52 The game started off strong with both teams scoring their first centre pass. A turnover from Mt Burr and accurate shoo ng from Ebony Clark saw the Burr get a jump on Nangwarry. Carly Ploenges and Hayley Vanderhorst were working relessly in defence for Nangwarry trying to stop Clark from ge ng the ball but with pin point passing from Laura Schultz and Meg Fennell made it easier for Clark to hold. Kylie Heaver worked hard for Nangwarry driving the ball down the court well and feeding to Ange Pra and Tahlia Wilson with ease. Quarter me saw Mt Burr leading by 5 goals. 2nd quarter Mt Burr came out strong scoring the first 4 goals for the quarter. Ebony Clark was having a great ba le with Meg Fennell doing her best to stop her drive onto the circle. Clark was on fire and with Zoe Brown passing off any opportunity in the goal circle made it hard for the Nangwarry defenders. Laura Schultz and Hayley Burner were having a good tussle in the centre driving the ball down the court well for their teams. Tahlia Wilson stepped it up a notch for her team this quarter presen ng well and shoo ng with accuracy combining well with Pra .
Half me saw Mt Burr leading by 11 goals. In the third quarter Nangwarry came out firing, turning over numerous intercepts in the defensive end and scoring every opportunity they had bringing the game within 3 goals. Clark stood out again for Mt Burr shoo ng with high accuracy. Simone Westerman had a great quarter making Nangwarry struggle to get the ball down the court. With a few passing errors from Nangwarry saw Mt Burr capitalise on those mistakes and extending their lead back out. Pra and Wilson con nued to work hard to score each centre pass and Heaver once again passed beau fully into the goalies. Three quarter me saw Mt Burr lead by 15 goals. Best players - Nangwarry: Ebony Lawson and Tahlia Wilson; Mt Burr: Ebony Clark and Simone Westerman. Robe 35 lost to Kalangadoo 42 With a top of the table clash it was a great game of netball to spectate. With both teams coming out firing in the first quarter with great intensity. Kalangadoo's shooters Kori Collins and Abbey Duncan combined well in the goal circle, with Collins shoo ng with 100% accuracy for the quarter. While Robe's goalies weren't as accurate but rebounded well. Kalangadoo were in the lead by 2 at the first break. No changes were made at quarter me, with both teams once again coming out with great intensity. Robe's Alannah Jennings and Kalangadoo's Kirsty Egan were having a great ba le at WD and WA, with Robe pu ng lots of pressure on every ball down the court. However, Kalangadoo had their eye on any opportunity to take an intercept and responded with a goal. Kalangadoo winning the quarter by one goal, saw them in the lead by three at half me. Once again no changes were made by any team at half me. Robe's Emma Grant and Kalangadoo's Abbey Duncan were having a ght ba le at GD and GA, with quick movement and passing by Duncan, it made it hard for Robe's defenders to get in front. However, with some inaccurate shoo ng from Duncan, Grant and Robe's Ellen Ramke made the most of any opportunity to get a rebound. Kalangadoo won the third quarter by three goals, so increased their lead to six at three quarter me.
In the final quarter Robe changed Annie Hunter to WA and Lucy Perkins to C to give some more defensive pressure down the court. A er the first few minutes Kori Collins came off with an injury and Maddy Bonanno came on into GS for Kalangadoo. With some accurate shoo ng by Robe in the final quarter - scoring 8 of their 9 a empts, however it wasn't enough to keep Kalangadoo at bay, with Abby Duncan scoring 8 of their 9 goals for the quarter and coming away winners by 7 goals. The score being 42 to 35. It was a great hard fought game by both teams. Best players - Robe: Annie Hunter and Emma Grant; Kalangadoo: Reanna Weatherall and Kirsty Egan. Tantanoola 50 lost to Port MacDonnell 51 Pt Mac won the toss and took the first centre pass of the game and were able to score quickly through their goalies. Pt Mac's defensive end stepped up early in the piece with Alana Winter and Belinda O'Dine ge ng hands to lots of ball causing havoc for the Tiger's Shooters. Pt Mac were able to convert with Toni Gilmore not looking to miss and Pt Mac going into the first break up by 2. No changes from either side in the second quarter and it was Pt Mac who found another level and were pu ng pressure on the Tigers' a ackers. The Tigers came out of the half me break with some changes to their line up with Ebony Cytrowski moving into the middle and Michelle Robinson coming on to WD. The Tigers' changes disrupted the away sides game plan and Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe were able to get some crucial turnovers and was rewarded through Emma Gould who had an impressive 14 goals to her name for the quarter. Despite the heat both sides were not giving an inch in the final term. The Tiger's Casey Walker on the wing provided speed and precision passing in their a ack line and was able to deliver to her goalies. A er going goal for goal majority of the quarter it was the Tigers who came up with a turnover, but they had le their run too late, and it was the away side who came away with the win by 1 goal.
