F.L. Although the Tigers cannot improve from fourth position on the ladder, this is a crucial game as they hope to carry some momentum into finals. The yellow and black could not keep up with Millicent's pace last week despite the best efforts of Sam Stafford and Jake Schutz at both ends of the ground. But with nothing to lose, expect the Roos to jump in hard. The red and blue scored their first win in 84 days last weekend, while the yellow and black could not stop the rampaging Saints. There could be some emotional scenes when the final siren sounds with injured West leader Steven Wenman already announcing to his team mates his playing and coaching days will be over after this weekend, while veterans Dwayne Phillips and Tom Holmes may also assess their futures during the summer. Weman said he is determined to give the stalwarts a special send off if they do decide to retire. “We want to finish the year on a positive not and just enjoy our footy,” he said. “We might have a few guys finish up on the weekend, so we want to put in a good performance in for those possibly playing their last game in the red and blue.” With finals just around the corner, the Tigers would be hungry to generate some winning form, but the Roos will throw plenty of punches. With regional Victoria still in lockdown the South Gambier v Casterton Sandford clash has been abandoned.

The reserves went on their winning way and are ready for the finals series. The season starts again then and being unbeaten doesn't mean much as all teams start level. We played a fast and skilful team in East Gambier last Saturday and they showed us how to go about it with a comprehensive win in the seniors.

With the Shepparton Outbreak being announced late on Friday there was the worry that we wouldn't be able to get over the border finally for some footy, but not to worry we were all over before the cut off time and enjoyed a sunny day at Malseed Park, West Gambier.
West were playing in front of a large group of returned players and officials and Fridge and his crew had put on a great array of tucker and drinks for the day, best schnitz and gravy in the South East! The Cats were strong defensively and held up play in the clinches, Diarmid Cleary, Adrian Jarrad and the returning Tom Foster were wrapping up Westies left right and centre restricting scoring opportunities for the majority of the quarter. West kicked away in the latter stages though putting on 3 goals in the last 5 minutes, to take a 25 point lead into the quarter time break.

future of our great club. The second half was dominated by West but their were some good linkage plays by the Cats that went unrewarded, led by young guns in Dillan Carlin, C o rey Wo m bwe l l , N i c k Schembri, Casey Jones, McKinnon and Nash. Dillan Carlin was able to get a third major on the board late in the last quarter but the Cats last game for the year (I'm guessing) was not to have a fairy tale finish. Well done on the effort all year Cats and it is pleasing to hear that so many have already made the commitment to come back next year, I can't wait for 2022 with so many exciting young prospects at the club and hopefully we can get a full season in!
D E E M N A O G D N A B The second quarter was more evenly poised on the score board as the Cats moved quickly forward through the exciting Zac Nash, helped along by a solid shepherd by Dylan Ayton, to the equally exciting Adam McKinnon, McKinnon kicking the Cats first goal.

As the 2021 Bendigo Bank Western Border Football League season heads into finals, players need to dig deeper to reach the top and few perfected that skill like Heath Sims. Sims was lucky enough to win many premierships during his junior days at Millicent before even more flags followed after his switch to South Gambier. Growing up in Millicent, his introduction to the game was through the school footy system and before too long he ventured off to McLaughlin Park. Sims said it was a fun time rising through the grades with a super Saints' outfit. “We were rather successful in junior footy through Under 12's to 16's,” he said. “We played in four consecutive grand finals and won three premierships, which was nice to have as a junior.” However, it was a special day with some of Glenelg's SANFL stars from the eighties which made the biggest impact on Sims' childhood. “Way back as a 10-year-old I will always remember turning up at a Glenelg Football Club clinic where some footballers came down and I was lucky enough to win an award from Mount Burr boy (300 SANFL game veteran) John Seebohm,” he said. “I won a footy and then I was hooked, following the Glenelg footy club and one player I loved was Kym Hodgeman, who moved to North Melbourne, hence I am still a North Melbourne tragic to this day.” After flying through juniors, Sims broke into Millicent's A Grade unit at the raw age of 17 under the stewardship of Port Adelaide legend and eight-time Collingwood player Russell Johnston. He said it took a while to get his head around the situation. “I was a scrawny little whippet, so I was a bit overawed being around club legends because it was just an honour to train with the seniors,” Sims said. “It was when the We ste r n B o rd e r was at its top being a hard competition and I was thrown onto the wing. “It was strange because on the football field I had a bit of a no-fear factor and I probably put my body in places it should not have been.
HEATH
“Although Millicent was not a massively successful club on the field, you still had to work hard to earn your spot.” Sims strung together close to 50 games for the Saints, but lived in Mount Gambier completing an apprenticeship and the recruiters at Blue Lake Sports Park sensed an opportunity to bolster their loaded list. “I was working and living in Mount Gambier, but still travelling to Millicent three nights a week, so it was full on,” he said. “Then the great Peter Sims from South Gambier tried to track me down over a few phone calls which I rejected. “But then we sat down and in the end, I thought had some mates at South, I was doing a lot of travelling and playing against them they were very professional and respected, so it was an easy thing to say 'yes I want to be a part of that'. “They were very accommodating in welcoming me and they were very humble which taught me some great life skills.” Sims arrived at South in 1998 and enjoyed success straight away helping the team to its third successive flag in his first grand final. He admitted he was nervous during his maiden A Grade decider and said the competitive, but unified vibe around the club was the secret to the Demons' success. “Training was a fun place to be,” Sims said. “You did not want to let your mate beat you, so there was always a desire to improve “My first grand final was amazing; everyone had a job to do and we were lucky enough to get the job done. “It was all about mateship and enjoying football.” South did it again in 1999 where Sims played a starring role winning the best-on-ground medal with four goals, but it almost never happened. “We had just come off a preliminary final against North Gambier where I broke a finger after getting it caught in Andrew Close's guernsey,” he said. “I thought that was the end of me, but the finger was put back together on Monday and I fronted up on Saturday. “Peter Sims decided to put me into the forward line and I kicked three goals in the first quarter which was not expected.” The Demons complete their staggering five-peat, a record in the WBFL in the following year and Sims believed it was the high point in his career from a team and individual perspective. “Under Duncan McGregor we went through 2000 undefeated which I think had never been done before,” he said. “I also thought I played my best footy during that year and got to represent the state in the national championships. “We played in Wagga and it was very cold, but was coached by Adelaide Crows legend Rodney
Maynard and the team manager was Darren Chandler, who happens to be my boss at the moment. “Myself, Jon Copping and Brett Exelby were the locals from the team and they are mates for life. “It was a great experience playing fast and hard footy, so it was pretty well the perfect year.” South and Sims' habit of collecting trophies continued throughout the 21st century with three more grand final victories in seven years. The veteran remained an integral part of the Demons' side performing roles across all areas of the oval. But Sims concluded enough was enough after a failed attempt to score a seventh premiership against North Gambier in 2012. “I had never played in a losing grand final, so it was not the best way to go out, but it was not a hard decision to make,” he said. “I started to get those old man injuries and thought I had my time and wanted to get more involved in my kids' footy. “I remember sitting with Leigh Capewell in the changerooms and we thought 'that is it' so we weren't being the big tough guys anymore.” The magnificent midfielder is still deeply involved with the game though his job as the game development coordinator at the SANFL. Sims has only been in the role for six months, but is honoured to continue giving back to the game. “That Glenelg clinic put a smile on my face, so it gives me a lot of enjoyment now doing similar sorts of stuff representing the Glenelg Football Club,” he said. “I cover all three leagues in the South East zone and all the schools in between to grow and improve fo o t b a l l p a r t i c i p at i o n t h ro u g h co a c h i n g , competitions and clinics. “Working in something that is a passion like football, it doesn't seem like work.” Sims still bounces around Blue Lake Sports Park, keeping a close eye on his sons Jed and Mitch, who are also becoming very successful and talented Demons in their own right. Sadly, this will be the final footy flashback of the year. It has been a privilege speaking to some of the modern-day greats of the Western Border world and learning their amazing stories. I hope you have enjoyed reading them as much as I loved writing them!

MATCH REPORTS EAST GAMBIER V SOUTH GAMBIER Much like the previous weekend against North Gambier, South Gambier played a strong first half against the undefeated Bulldogs and trailed by only five at quarter me and 11 at the main break. Missing tall shooter Grace Edwards, who suffered a season ending ankle injury mid week, the young shoo ng combina on of Alyssa Duncan and Lara Munro shower no fear, combining well and using their agility and understanding from some seasons in junior ranks together, to work their way through the tough East defence of Lisa Fyfe and Bo Creek. In the end, it was a 28 goal loss but the young South shoo ng combina on c e r ta i n l y m a d e t h e m o st o f t h e i r opportuni es, ne ng 36 from 42, in a promising glimpse into the future for the Demons. But in the end, the Bulldogs relentless pressure and speed with ball in hand wore t h e D e m o n s d o w n , re co rd i n g t h e comfortable victory with Emily Hunter and Tarsh McCallum domina ng the mid court and Tenille Gray and Amryn Bosko revelling in plenty of supply to ensure the scoreboard was eventually weighted in the home side's favour. Gray was at her prolific best, taking plenty of ball high in the court and using her usual decep on on the pass to work plenty of shots from close range or dishing off to her composed younger shoo ng partner. South defenders Brandi Bouchier and Ellie Bouchier s ll got some touches but the weight of supple told a story. Hunter, Tyne Bosko, Fyfe and Creek s ll had their moments of crea ng turnover ball, especially when the ball was delivered cross court or in the air, while another four quarters with McCallum back in the line-up a er a long injury lay off, can only be valuable for the compe on pacese ers. East certainly trialled some offensive and defensive plays during the contest, readying themselves for when they will be seriously tested by Millicent this weekend and in a twist in the draw – the following week, in finals. Duncan was clearly the best for the Demons – thrown back into the shoo ng circle a er a season on the a acking wing, and not missing a beat. In fact, she was then general of the forward line, accurate on the finish and combined well with Munro. Ellie Bouchier also made her mark while taking on the toughest defensive gig in the compe on – denying Tenille Gray easy
ball – and while Gray was clearly on of East's best, Ellie Bouchier took some strong rebounds, got her hands to some cri cal ball and was strong over the shot.
injury has certainly not helped their premiership campaign.
WEST GAMBIER V CASTERTON SANDFORD Glad to be back on court, Casterton Sandford but in a strong first half against the finals bound Roos, trailing by 11 at the main break.
Buddle has allowed Mel Renko to move into the centre and has combined well with the circle defenders, Maddie Whaites and Noni McConnell, to pressure opposi on into error and crea ng turnover ball. On the flip side, North has been running with eight players, rota ng their mid court, so a rejigging of the line-up will not be as disrup ve as it could have been.
Paige Murrell used her pace and ming on the drive to secure a number of scoring opportuni es for the Cats, ne ng 18 from 22 in the opening half. The defensive pressure from Caeleigh Humphries and Ebany Jarrad was also impressive as they ba led the height and accuracy of Sarah Ri er and smarts of Lisa McGregor to try and minimise the scoreboard damage. T h at b e i n g s a i d , S a ra h R i e r wa s outstanding again, ne ng 54 from 65, as she con nued to hit the long and close range shots, while McGregor really picked up her scoring in the second half with 16 from 18. Kit was the third quarter when the damage was done – West taking the quarter 24-10 which put the result beyond doubt. The hard running Tara Bryant and Scarle Jarrad had a great tussle through the mid court, while West defender Amy Cram was marshalling the troops in the defensive third and crea ng plenty of turnover ball with her ability to read the play and cut off many a foray forward from the Cats. Celebra ng her 50 game milestone, Zhane Crawford did her best to stop Carlee Ransom influencing the contest with a consistent performance on the defensive wing for the Cats, while Murrell thrived on the move to goal a ack in the final quarter, conver ng eight from nine as her pace and ming against proved pivotal. It looms as the final minor round match for the Cats with lockdown set to stymie their final round clash with South Gambier, while West now face North Gambier in the final minor round before taking the Tigers on again in the first semi final. MILLICENT V NORTH GAMBIER It was another classic ba le with Millicent defea ng North Gambier for the third me this season in another ght encounter. The Tigers again showed they will be as compe ve as anyone in the upcoming finals series, although losing wing defender Lauren Buddle to an Achilles
North held a one goal lead at the first break and won the second quarter by one as well but it was the third quarter that turned the game, the Saints taking it by eight to take a six goal lead into the final quarter before eventually winning by five goals. As expected it was a ba le of the tall shooters, North's Caroline Davey ne ng 50 from 56 and Millicent's Tabatha Sanderson conver ng 47 from 53, with both shooters having a perfect quarter each – Davey opened the match with 12 straight, while Sanderson finished with a flurry in the final quarter with 13 without a miss. Of course, someone has to get the ball to the tall mber at the post, and North's Brianna Walters and Millicent's Lucy Denton did it well, with both being named in their respec ve team's best. Both used their pace and accuracy on the feed to ensure both shooters had plenty of opportuni es to hit the scoreboard. The third quarter dominance from the Saints was as much about the defensive work as it was what Millicent did with ball in hand, keeping North to only 14 scoring opportuni es as Denton and Duldig applied the pressure out front and Hannah Nitschke and Por a McRae created enough turnover ball to give the Saints the ascendancy and Sanderson's 16 from 17, courtesy of some crea ve feeding from Demi Verbena, ensured Millicent got band for their buck. Normally losing three mes to a team during the minor round would be defla ng for an opposi on but North knows they are in striking distance and will now turn their a en on to taking on West Gambier, both this weekend and then in the knockout semi final the following weekend.
ROUND 15 PREVIEW EAST GAMBIER V MILLICENT It is the top of the table clash and a preview of next weekend's 2nd semi final so given it is somewhat of a dress rehearsal, both East Gambier and Millicent have a chance to trial things and also hold a few tac cs back, making the result of this contest hard to quan fy. There is certainly a psychological advantage to be gained by securing the victory and East will be keen to emulate their opponent's incredible record in seasons past, by ending the minor round undefeated and not showing any chinks in the armour as they head into the double chance final next Sunday against the reigning premiers The Bulldogs took more than a half to shake off a determined South Gambier last round and they will be looking to bring more intensity to this weekend's contest, especially in terms of the full court defensive pressure the Bulldogs have long considered a trademark and that was more evident in their dominant second half against the Demons. Much will rest on the ability of Paige Nitschke and Demi Verbena to use their speed and smart s to work their way through the tough defensive efforts of Emily Hunter, Tyne Bosko, Lisa Fyfe and Bo Creek, while at the other end, it will be the pressure from hard working mid courters Lucy Denton and Lisa Duldig to try and force the feeders into error and deny Tenille Gray and Amryn Bosko too much easy ball.
The return of Tarsh McCallum saw some strong structure in the offensive end and the a ack line will be be er for having returned to their preferred star ng seven and no doubt any wrinkles have been ironed out this week on the training court. Millicent are certainly more match hardened, having some off a tough victory over North Gambier in a high quality contest and they have proved in 2021 that they are good at keeping opposi on teams at bay in ght goal for goal contests. The start will be cri cal with both sides usually looking to blow opposi on out of the water early but while the gap is closing on East and the challengers, the Bulldogs should end the 2021 minor round with a zero in the loss column. NORTH GAMBIER V WEST GAMBIER This will be a match to savour and like the East versus Millicent clash is a dress rehearsal for the following Saturday's knockout semi final. North Gambier is hos ng West Gambier with the results split thus far in 2021. The Tigers should enter the clash confident a er again pushing Millicent to the limit but West will also be buoyed by a domina ng performance over the Cats. There are intriguing match ups all over the court with Maddie Whaites looking to quell the influence of star Roo shooter Sarah Ri er and at the other end, Jade Ri er looking to deny iconic
DENTON’S
Tiger shooter Caroline Davey too much ball. Both Whaites and Jade Ri er will be relying on pressure out the front from their respec ve mid courts, as well as the work of their fellow circle defenders with both North's Noni McConnell and West's Amy Cram are the generals of their respec ve defensive thirds. The mid court clash between experience North centre Mel Renko and rising star Tara Bryant will be intriguing as both boast a strong work ethic, and impact at both ends of the court, hi ng the circle hard in a ack and ge ng important defensive touches. This match will be all about gaining the mental edge for the following week and imagine both will be going all out to win. North will be hampered by the season ending injury to Lauren Buddle so this weekend will be a chance to develop a new team chemistry at the defensive end but they should be able to secure a narrow victory on their home court. SOUTH GAMBIER V CASTERTON SANDFORD Match abandoned
North Gambier Yellow & Black A grade North 57 vs Millicent 62 A good strong start saw us up by 2 at the main break. The first half was a strong 7 player performance. Unfortunately, in the third quarter Lauren was injured and left the court for the remainder of the game. Tenielle stepped into the WD tag and played her part in a strong defensive structure. Unfortunately, we went down by 5. However, there is a lot to like about the work ethic of each player.

The girls had a strong start to the D efen s ively yo u a ll wo rked game which is a real positive as together to get many touches and this is something we have been intercepts which resulted in working hard on throughout the turnovers and kept their score to a season. Unfortunately, we weren't minimum. Our passing down court able to maintain this momentum and driving is improving each throughout the game, and lost week so let's keep up the good Alysha to an ankle injury in the work for our last game. Well done second quarter which made things to all. Congratulations to Ava and difficult. Proud of the girls Taylah for receiving the awards attacking efforts to achieve our this week. goal we set at the start of the game. Well done to Zarly who worked hard all day to drive onto the circle and feed beautifully into the goalies. Best players - Lauran and Zarly.
What a great day to play netball in what was our final home game for the season! Was even better to welcome Casterton to Malseed Park after we weren't sure if the games would even go ahead the night before. Was great to see the smiling faces on the all the kids faces who were just happy to be playing the sport they love. Thank you to all the people that worked in the b a c k g r o u n d t o m a ke i t happen.

South Gambier Red & White Well - that was it ladies - the last minor round game of the season for the mighty Demons with this weekend's clash with Casterton Sandford unfortunately unable to go ahead because of Victorian lockdown. The A Grade had another great first half against the undefeated Bulldogs with Alyssa putting in one of her best performances of the season, slipping into the shooting circle for the first time this season in A Grade and killing it with accurate shooting and also great feeding into Lara. Brandi and Ellie again battled hard for touches against the slick East offence, while Tully had her first four quarters on the court and was especially important as a link player. Renee and Hannah also ran hard all day, while Megan made a great cameo on the attacking wing. The A Reserve had their best outing for the year - saving the best for last. Injuries and player unavailability has made it a tough year but Megan and Emilia played a great game in goals, while at the other end, Mykaela and Macca created some good turnover ball with Macca even spending the final quarter in centre - nice work!!!! It was one of Mel's best games for the year as she got some important touches and was also a critical link player, while Tori ran hard and delivered some of her risky but impressive balls into the circle. Tully and Ruby worked hard through the mid court with Ruby also heading back to goal keeper in the final quarter and getting a couple of important touches.

The 17 & Under girls avenged their shock loss to East the previous time around - even without Flick at the helm and they, too, now have a finals campaign to prepare for. The 15 & Under A girls had their best game for 2021 - another team saving the best for last - with a draw - with Maddison and Sophie the best of what was a great team effort. The 15 & Under B girls had a narrow loss, while the 13As recovered from a slow start to win and they, too, have finals in their sights. The 13 & Under B girls had a tough outing with skipper Lily a shining light with a great four quarter effort and Halle and Zara also putting in strong performances. Scarlet hit the ball hard and took some great rebounds, while Kadie, Aaliyah and Sophie worked overtime in defence to create a lot of turnover ball. Tegan was also fantastic with her hard running and she is one to watch given she technically has three more years in the age group. The 11s had a great finish to the season with their first win over East for the season with their court work being really good and backed up with some great finishing from Holly, Elsie, Courtney and Maya... this group of 15 troopers have been amazing and the club should be excited about their progress...
Casterton-Sandford
The wait was finally over for us to hit the court again after several weeks off and the A grade girls made the most of what would turn out to be our last game for the season. With an injury cloud over Claire Foster Charlotte Rice started on the court at GA and the attack line up started with Tori Broomby in the WA and Paige Murrell in her most dominant position of GS with ever reliable Scarlett Jarrod running the C position. The attach line was able to get off to a strong start finding their feet with some create passing and strong leads made. The defensive end consisted of young guns Zhane Crawford on the WD and Caeleigh Humphies and Ebany Jarrod in the circle. The girls managed to find their feet quickly and didn't make it easy for the experience West attack line.
The second quarter saw West get a quick jump on the Cats however the team wasn't going down without a fight. Our defensive line up dug deep creating turn over after turn over. The cats moved the ball well down the court each time managing 8 unanswered goals to go into half time only 6 down. Some changes were made and we welcomed Claire Foster into the GD position. Claire and Caeleigh quickly teamed up and where able to get their hands to a few balls. Paige continued her strong driving and leadership within the goal ring as Charlottes confidence continued to grow. Scarlett and Tori continued to work hard to get the ball on the ring and use their voices to support their goaling team. West come out firing in the third pushing their lead out to 20. Changes where made in the last break bring Ebany back on who didn't take long to get her hands to the ball again. Zhane was wearing her player down with her tight checking defensive. In the attack end more changes were made. Tori went back to goal shoot with Paige out at GA. Charlotte moved to WA giving the team some extra drive through the centre. Tori and Paige didn't waste time getting score on the board finding plenty of space. Scarlett continued to push out four consistent quarters through the centre. To wests credit they continued to build on their strong margin. The cats definitely didn't go down without a fight and were about to put together what could have been their most consistent game for the season. The cats A grade girls have definitely done our club proudly through what has been, at times, a tough year on the court. They have never given up and have done the blue, white and red dress proud. All the best to all clubs and teams as they move into finals. A reserve, unfortunately went down to West 60-61, unfortunately resulting them missing out on their finals dream. This season A res, had a very new team, consisting of many new players, but continued to work hard and improve as a team throughout the whole season and should be very proud of their efforts.
The B Grade continued on its merry way, while the C Grade just fell short again but both have a chance to make thier mark in the finals and we will all be out there to support them.
B Grade had a special game on Saturday with mid court star, Lorree Lane played her 200th game for CSFNC. They had a fantastic win over West 60-31 to cement there place in the 2021 finals. Best players were Annalee McKinnon and Lauren Cleary. Best of luck girls for finals. C grade had a close game on Saturday, unfortunately going down to West by two goals. After Several weeks off the girls were keen to get back onto the court and get another win on the board for the season, unfortunately just falling short at the final whistle. B players were Janine Parsons and Kimberly Hutchins. The 17&under Casterton Sandford girls stepped onto the court against West Gambier. First game back since 10/7. After being

Blue, White & Red lockdowned and not being able to train as a team, the girls had come onto the court ready to go. Chloe foster and Charlotte rice, playing goals together all season, did not disappoint. Scoring every chance they could and even being defensive attackers when the play didn't go our way. Chloe Kerr and Marissa Jamieson who played our wing attack fed the ball to the goalies without hesitation. Always backed eachother and followed through with their strong leads onto the ring. Makayla Hutchins running out the tough position of C for 4 consistent quarters, she fed well to the goalies, drove hard for the ball and down the court to ensure she was always there. Ebony Mutch and Sophie hart fulfilled the Wing defence position, sticking right to the opposing player, working hard on getting any hard to lose balls, leading strongly through the mid court to be that option. Our defenders Caeleigh Humphries and Ebany jarrad, did not disappoint, all season they have played together, improving on making it harder for their opposing players to get into the ring. Getting lots of hands to the ball and being strong for the rebounds. Unfortunately the girls didn't walk away with a win, but they did give a fight. After not being about to train as a team, the girls adapted phenomenal to the changes and walked onto that court like they hadn't missed a game. Well done to all of these girls, your fierce competitiveness on the court was great to see. I could not be more proud of you all. 50 - 62. 15 and under As are continuing to improve each week. They showed great strength in contesting the ball across the court. After having a slow start in the first quarter after not playing for several weeks, the girls soon got back on track to play a solid game of netball. The girls even managed to match West's 13 goals scored in the final quarter. The best players were Ivy Lane and Pheobe Carlin. Massive thanks to Caitlyn Gorman for filling in. 15& under bs, had a slow start to the game allowing the westies to get a few goal lead on them. After regrouping and making a few changes on court, the girls got back in the groove, took back their lead and went on to lead for the rest of the match, finish 50-24. Due to injured shooter Chelsea Hulm and Hannah Nash we welcomed Brydie Carlin and Olivia Nolte into the team, who came onto the court and fitting straight in, massive thank you to you both. After not playing for several weeks the under 13 A girls were keen to get back on court. We started the game off well and the girls drove strongly in attack. West had very tall goalies but our defenders never gave up. The girls had some great passages of play and reduced the deficit from the first round against West. Thanks to Chloe and Marlee for filling in. The under 13 b team almost came away with the win in a fantastic game that saw the girls fall a goal short at the final siren. After not having played for several weeks the girls were raring to go, and were neck and neck the whole game, but unfortunately couldn't away with the points. The Casterton-Sanford under 11's girls had a great final game against West on Saturday, each girl continued to show improvement over the season and should be very proud of them selves. Good luck to all the teams in the finals.

such a different game. We just didn’t place the ball correct to our team mates - with soft passes and incorrect choices, seen South take the ball way too easy. We need to fight harder in tougher games and work the ball smarter. We did however have some great passes of player from deep in defence to our goalies who finished off well. However, the consistency wasnt enough and we game away with a draw. Let's regroup this work and put in 4 solid quarters
A Grade In what was a close game which was marred by a very serious injury to North's WD Lauren. On behalf of MNFC we wish her the very best with her recovery. The girls collectively worked well as a team to secure another good win in the lead up to finals.

We came away with the win, however we had to fight for it and wasnt an easy win. We need to stay body strong and want the ball a lot harder than what we did on saturday. Second attempts, chase and attack the ball strong is what wins games. you can't just cruise and expect it to happen, make it happen and work hard and strong.
