West Gambier’s defence was clueless as Robinson compiled a season-best tally of 14 goals to fly into the nineties.

Millicent Red, Black & White Myself and Ange were having a friendly debate about whether cold or hot milk on weetbix is better?? then she went on about how I hang jeans out by the legs instead of waist, which she says is wrong. Then we got on to talking about who has the better friends. We both offer a wide variety of anecdotes and stories, but in the end, we decided to put it to the test. Ange says "Here's what we will do I'll call your friends, and you call mine. We will both pretend that the other person hasn't come home yet, and that we are worried, whoever’s friends give the best advice about where to find us clearly knows us better, and therefore are better.” So, I agree and off we go into separate rooms, make some calls and will reconvene. I walk back into the room pretty defeated. I said Ange "I think it's pretty clear you have the better friends. Each one of them listed each of your favourite restaurants, supermarkets, hair dressers and shopping plazas, they had phone numbers for each of them, they knew your work roster by heart, work number and crew leader, they knew everything.” Ange shakes her head, "no dear" she replied. You have the better friends. I said "why do you say that” "Well" she replied "Two said you'd just left the pub with them and are on the way home, most of them had said you'd been at their place and 3 of them Bronte, Ferg and Johnny said you are still there!!”

Reserves went down by 14 points in a close game all day, leading at 3 quarter time but just being overrun. Best players from the top Clay Reilly, Harry, Hammer Reilly, Withers, Luke Ferguson and Gizzy. Special Mention to Aidan Schultz on his 50th game this weekend. Aidan and his family have been loyal saints from back in his junior days and are great club people. Congrats to Shultzy! Making my mark ! With all the stop-start in local footy, We have neglected to mention the SANFL League debut with West Adelaide by ex MFNC junior and past premiership player Hamish Gordon! North Gambier

You’d think we’d all be at full fitness after not playing much for the last couple of months, but unfortunately that was not the case on Saturday vs South, across most grades, for both teams. Thanks to those Northies that played at less than full fitness and fingers crossed for those that sustained injuries on the day.

Yellow & Black

We are lucky the Pioneers are not playing at present as Toby De Wit has been in super form and was named best. Other best players were Dylan Munn, Jake Schutz, Nick Brown, Jordan Hollit and Scott Flett. This week we are off to Millicent, where again we can expect competitive games across the day. With only 2 minor round games to go, lets all make an effort to get back to the club for awards and teas for the next couple of weeks.

Our highlight at BLSP as it so often has been this year, was the U14s who had a good win. C o a c h McInerney has been preparing the boys for finals for a while so it is now time to hit their straps. Reserves coach Kurzman has had to work hard to get a team on the field each week, and this week was no different, with 8 x U18s backing up and the big oval took a toll. Best players were Danny Poynter, Jack O’Connor, Zach Clark, Ciaran Buckley, Sam Dwyer and Jocob Arthurson. Both A grade sides were well short of their best teams and a competitive game was the outcome. We had yet another debutant, Tim Scarth, about 10 years overdue (due mainly due to injury).

With The Malseed cup run and won, its time for the champagne flow for Todd Lewis to celebrate his victory. It was a great night had by all and the crowd at the races had been well behaved unlike some of the Melbourne cup shenanigans. The 14s where of to a great start playing some great football. The side is slowly growing together and playing some great football. We started of slow but once we got going our run and style of play is great to watch. The boys are playing some tough hard football lead by Toby Stutley from the front. Our 16s came up against a rampant Millicent side who out played as a solid team. Out boys will bounce back from this and be better next time to not take them for granted. Mitch Cornolo, Harry Opperman, Brooklyn Winterfield, Joe (the Man) Judd and Tom Smith battled solidly all day.

Best players Joel Bull, Arron Herron, Cooper Sanderson, Alex Pearson, Tom Cleveland. Our seniors had a bad day at the office thanks to the one man wrecking ball against us in Gene the freak Robinson sorry I was meant to write Millicent. Welcome back to the WBFL Cat fans...maybe, still not sure at time of typing if the League are allowing us to play or not, if you are reading this at Malseed Park on your phone then I guess we are. Fridge and his merry band of volunteers always put on a good show so support the food and drink stalls as they are what keep the clubs running.

Football last weekend, lets take the enthusiasm to todays games and give the Roos a show, Carn the Cats! Thank-you to all our valued sponsors including Nutrien Ag Solutions, Taylor Motors, Glenelg Inn, Bendigo Bank, A sto n N e w m a n T i m b e rs , Casterton Secondary College and Foodworks.

FOOTY JENS HOTEL

WITH

Millicent's Andrew Nitschke may have never held the Western Border Football League premiership cup aloft, but he will go down as one of the best to ever wear the Saints' jumper. The defender turned midfielder is one of the most decorated members at McLaughlin Park with more than 300 games, three league and many more club best and fairest awards. Despite receiving potential offers to jump ship, Nitschke always stayed loyal to Millicent and remained a one-club player. “I lived and grew up in the town and just enjoyed playing footy,” he said. Nitschke's journey in the game has just entered a fifth decade and it all started on the school ovals around Millicent. “It was all through school footy,” he said. “Everyone played footy back in those days, so I had a go and off I went on the journey.” Being a born and bred Millicent man to parents helping at McLaughlin Park, there was ever any doubt which club Nitschke would complete his first training session at. By the age of 10 he had his first taste of Under 12's and went on to captain many strong Saints' junior sides. “I had to work pretty hard because by no means was I naturally gifted,” Nitschke said. “We were always competing with a good group and it was good playing against the Victorians, who were bigger and stronger.” Nitschke did not have to wait long for his first flag, when Millicent won the Under 12's grand final. But sadly, that was the only occasion he ever achieved the holy grail in the WBFL aside from some “very special” Interleague titles representing the competition across junior and senior level. After climbing through the ranks and doing all the right things in under-age football, Nitschke was rewarded with an A Grade debut in 1990. But it was not in his familiar role on the ball, instead he was thrown into the backline and was forced to learn quickly against some highcaliber forwards. Nitschke said he was happy just to be on the ground with the same Saints side he looked u p t o playing off in prelimin a r y finals. “ T h e coach said I was playing

ANDREW

well and told me to keep knocking the door down because it was difficult to get into the A Grade,” he said. “So, I had to persevere and finally got the call up.” Nitschke said he initially found the step up to the top level a large one to tackle. “It was definitely quicker with a lot stronger bodies to deal with,” he said. “I kept working on my game to get better, but it was never easy as a first-year player against ex SANFL and VFL blokes like Russell Johnston and Phil Harrison.” Nitschke proved he had what it took to fight against the big boys of the WBFL, playing the remainder of his debut year before his first full season in 1991. Having impressed so much at an early age, he fancied a challenge at Glenelg in the Under 18's setup, but homelife became the major focus. “I just travelled up there and played some Under 18's games for Glenelg, but I got a job in Mount Gambier and pursued that,” Nitschke said. With all his focus on the WBFL, Nitschke pushed hard on the training track to improve all aspects of his game, especially fitness. Eventually the hard work paid off and the youngster was gifted the chance to play in his preferred midfield role for the top grade from coach Johnston. Soon Nitschke was one of the first names on the whiteboard as he made the midfield spot his own and won his first league best and fairest award in 1997 after tying the medal count with Portland's Barry Knight. The Millicent midfielder went on to win the league's highest individual honour again in 2001 and 03 as one of the premier players in the region. Nitschke said his biggest strengths in the centre were running and working. “I always enjoyed the contest,” he said. “I liked to use my fitness and get in and under to play my best for the team.” After busting his gut in the midfield for many years and spending time as the Saints' football committee president and assistant coach, Nitschke was eventually rewarded with the top job. He said it was an honour to coach for five years, but felt he had more to give after lifting the team from the depths of the ladder to flag contention. “I enjoyed my time as assistant and coach of the Under 16's, so I got the senior gig for five years,” Nitschke said. “It was definitely a challenge, especially during the years when we were struggling. “But we trained hard, stayed united, landed some recruits and got to play some finals which was a nice reward for the group after some tough years. “We came back from 40 points down in a knockout final against East, but just went down to Imperials in the semi after kicking eight points in the opening quarter. “It probably exceeded expectations and gave everyone belief. “But then the club got another coach and it went a bit

pear shaped.” Nitschke admitted he was not expecting to be forced away from the coaching position and said there were options to switch allegiances, but he remained at McLaughlin Park. “Hindsight is a wonderful thing and if I had my time again I may have moved on, but I stayed around,” he said. The call to stay paid off as Millicent enjoyed its most successful year in the Nitschke era in 2010. After easily overcoming South Gambier in the preliminary final, the Saints marched into their first grand final since 1988. But sadly for Nitschke and many of his team mates, their one shot at the holy grail ended in heartbreak as West Gambier ended its own drought with a threepoint victory. “We played for each other and were very united,” he said. “The grand final against West was a game of inches and one late umpiring decision cost us, but that is history. “It is typical of the competition, if you are a fraction off, you get beaten. “It was a pretty ruthless competition back in those days.” By this stage Nitschke had returned to his original role in the backline and spent some time up forward in the twilight years of his career. He made his A Grade farewell in 2011, but continued in the Reserves side for a few years and won another best and fairest medal in 2012. But eventually Nitschke knew his time was up when the endless bumps, bruises and broken bones started to catch up with him after many years on the field. Nitschke's coaching prowess was not just limited to McLaughlin Park, he also continues to be a vital part of Glenelg's pathways coaching the SANFL club's academy. His time at the Bay is nearing 10 years where he works with 30 of the most promising young talents from the Western Border and Mid South Eastern football leagues for 12 weeks during preseason to prepare them for junior SANFL competitions. Nitschke has also coached the Under 15 country team for several years in Adelaide. MATCH REPORTS SOUTH GAMBIER V NORTH GAMBIER North Gambier got the job done, with Caroline Davey again the focal point with 52 from 55, but South Gambier certainly made the Tigers earn the win and it was only a lop sided final quarter that saw the scoreline blow out to a 22 goal victory. The Tigers definitely got the be er of the start and led by eight at the first change. Access to Davey was too easy courtesy of limited pressure on the feeders and Mel Renko had a quarter for the ages in centre. She was the key driver in a ack and connected perfectly with Davey, while also winning back the ball in the defensive goal third. Inaccuracy from South in the opening quarter also didn’t help but the Demons regrouped and the deficit was s ll only eight at the main break. Grace Edwards converted a perfect eight from eight, while Lara Munro started to shake the ght checking of Noni McConnell in the second quarter, while defensively the Demons also picked up the intensity as Brandi and Ellie Bouchier started to be er combine to shut down the space in the shoo ng circle, while Renee Pluckhahn and Hannah Witherow made life tougher for Renko and Teneille Barry. The third quarter was another arm wrestle as South con nued to apply be er defensive pressure but inaccuracy in the shoo ng circle was again a li le problema c and by the final change the difference was 12. Maddie Whaites, McConnell and Lauren Buddle were inspired by Renko’s lead and ge ng important touches and intercep ons as well as forcing the Demons into error with ball in hand and the scoreline was kept in check though, courtesy of the Bouchier defensive combina on that were also forcing errors from the Tigers frontline. The final quarter was representa ve of the gap between the two sides with Davey again

prominent, ne ng 16 from 17, and the Demons suffering from a lack of supply. The balls that got through Renko and Buddle were turned over by the ght checking of Whaites and McConnell and it was a disappoin ng final 15 minutes in what had been a strong performance from the young Demons. Some of the individual match ups were intriguing with Buddle and Alyssa Duncan both having a strong influence for their respec ve teams – Buddle with her tenacious a ack on the ball and Duncan with her smarts and accurate delivery. Lara Munro also had a great ba le with the ght checking McConnell, with the youngster winning some quality ball, while McConnell not only created turnover ball but also was a key link player in transi on. Given the weight of possession, Brandi and Ellie Bouchier did a great job defensively, while Renko was a key for the Tigers as she con nually won the ball back, while also being a dominant feeder at the offensive end, while the pace of Barry and Ellen Brown and their accuracy on the feed was also pivotal. WEST GAMBIER V MILLICENT Millicent started making a statement last weekend when it had the game under control against North Gambier with a 16 goal three quarter me lead before the Tigers stormed back to s ll lose but definitely make it interes ng. The Saints again came out firing at the weekend, se ng up an 8-1 lead early but the West did recover to ensure the damage was only six goals at the first change. An even second quarter saw the scoreline remain six goals in favour of the reigning premiers before the Saints took total control in the third quarte and set up a 17 goal three quarter me lead that ended up the final margin. The Saints moved Lisa Duldig to the centre and Lucy Denton to the defensive wing and

DENTON’S

it had the desired result with Duldig providing control to the offensive end of the court, while Denton secured some important touches to create turnover ball. A strong shoo ng performance from Tabatha Sanderson, who converted 14 from 15, along with the con nued stunning form from Demi Verbena , who was easily the best player on the court across all four quarters, and the Saints were in complete control. The Roos again fought back but the Saints were on the job and while the scoreline was again ed in the final quarter, the damage had been done. Sarah Ri er was again a shining light for the Roos, ne ng 41 from 46, while at the other end, Jade Ri er was crea ng turnover ball to keep the Roos as close as possible. Verbena though was the star and in a danger sign for opposi on teams she upped her shoo ng output significantly a er spending the majority of the season dishing off to Sanderson. Verbena not only did damage with her pace, ming and passing skills, she shot 34 of Millicent’s 77 goals – the highest percentage of any shooter teamed with Sanderson all year – in a great sign for the Saints who already have an embarrassment of riches in the shoo ng department with Paige Nitschke and Denton also able to take a role in the shoo ng circle. Tara Bryant had another strong running game through the mid court, while Amy Cram was s ll able to generate turnover ball as she marshalled the Roos defensive troops. In the end, though, the Saints were able to keep control of the contest with Duldig and Verbena controlling the a ack end and Por a McRae and Hannah Nitschke con nuing to develop as a defensive combina on and crea ng enough turnover ball to give their side the edge.

ROUND 14 PREVIEW EAST GAMBIER V SOUTH GAMBIER They played only two weeks ago and it is hard to see what South Gambier could probably do in such a short space of me to deny East another win but for much of the contest against North Gambier at the weekend the Demons were compe ve and only the final quarter saw the scoreline blow out to 22. On the flip side, East, having missed another ou ng at the weekend, will be desperate to con nue finetuning ahead of finals and while they have not been in trouble in any of the handful of matches over the past couple of months but there have been rusty patches with ball in hand. Tarsh McCallum will be itching to get on court a er a long lay off with injury and East will be looking to lock in some great chemistry in the a acking end of the court with their preferred star ng line up back on court. Lara Munro had a tough physical ba le with Noni McConnell at the weekend and she will again know she is in a contest with star defender Lisa Fyfe and that will be one of the great ba les to watch. South need to be careful with ball in hand and work hard to find a way through the unrelen ng East defence where Bo Creek dominates the air, Fyfe is everywhere, Tyne Bosko is as ght checking and athle c as they come and Emily Hunter is a centre who is almost more damaging at the defensive end than in a ack. Renee Pluckhahn and Alyssa Duncan will need to work together to find good posi on on the circle’s edge to ensure Grace Edwards and Munro are able to receive ball in good shoo ng posi on. Last weekend Brandi Bouchier and Ellie Bouchier ba led against a heavy weight of supply and they will have a tough ou ng again with Tenille Gray and Amryn Bosko the most damaging shoo ng combina on in the compe on, sharing the shoo ng du es and both having the ability to play on the hold or with some slick, well med moves. MILLICENT V NORTH GAMBIER It is clearly the match of the round when the reigning premiers host North Gambier at McLaughlin Park. Millicent one the first

encounter in 2021 by two at the death knock and on August 7 the Saints had the match under control before a last quarter onslaught from the Tigers, who again fell just short. Millicent certainly looked to have sorted that fade out at the weekend when a fast start was converted into a 17 goal win over West, despite the Roos staying with the tleholders in two of the four quarters. North defender Noni McConnell is coming off a strong performance at the weekend and she will need to bring that and more this weekend with Demi Verbena pu ng on a clinic at the weekend, back to her best, using her speed, ming and, most importantly, her long range accuracy, to ensure Millicent got the be er of West. Maddie Whaites, who also had a par cularly impressive second half at the weekend, again has to take on a tall shooter and Tabatha Sanderson has also been in good form and would be feeling even less pressure given the output from Verbena. At the other end, the ba les are also cri cal. Young defender Por a McRae is having her third crack and denying star Tigers hooter Caroline Davey easy ball and her eleva on to A Grade ranks has been as impressive as any debut season in a season where East’s Amryn Bosko; West’s Sarah Ri er and South’s Lara Munro also impressing. Her combina on with Hannah Nitschke is star ng to really fine some mojo and with Lucy Denton and Lisa Duldig out front pressuring the ball coming in, the Tigers will need to be careful with ball in hand. Mel Renko, Teneille Barry, Brianna Walters and Ellen Brown are charged with the responsibility of delivering the ball into Davey, while Brown should also be looking to implement her long range accuracy on the shot more o en, taking a leaf out of Verbena’s book, to make the Tigers hoo ng circle even more potent. It will be the mid court ba les, though, that decide the contest as once the ball is in the hands of the shooters there will be li le the defenders can do. Millicent to make it three from three in another ght ba le.

WEST GAMBIER V C A S T E R T O N SANDFORD The Cats will have everything crossed they can hit the court this weekend and West will certainly also looking for a hit out to iron out the wrinkles from their clash with Millicent where the Roos went goal for goal for two quarters but had two quarters where the Saints were able to take scoreboard control. The development of the young Cats under the most difficult of circumstances with matches unable to be played due to government regula on on both sides of the border has meant match prac ce has been at a premium but the tenacity and willingness to contest of the defensive trio of Caeleigh Humphries, Claire Foster and Ebany Jarrad has been outstanding and points to a bright future for the Cats. Credit must go to not just coach Tori Broomby and skipper Scarle Jarrad but other senior players at the club that con nually provide encouragement and advice to ensure the girls are more compe ve each me they step onto the court. The likes of Makayla Hutchins and Zhane Crawford have also made an impact while Broomby, Scarle Jarrad and Paige Murrell have been strong leaders on court and the Cats will be looking to limit the scoreboard damage with a strong four quarter performance. On the other hand, West also needs a consistent four quarter performance, and will be looking to ensure their offensive work is safe and precise, with an unrelen ng commitment to defence when they don’t have possession. Sarah Ri er and Lisa McGregor will be looking to sure up their connec on with Carlee Ransom, while the ba le between Scarle Jarrad and Tara Bryant will be one of the best of the round. Both run hard all day and both are key link players with their strong drives and pace onto the circle. Jade Ri er and Amy Cram will also be looking to work in conjunc on with Bryant and Nikeisha Facey to ensure every ball the Cats take is under pressure and maintaining that intensity for four quarters. The Roos will take the points but they will most certainly earn them.

Millicent Red, Black & White

A Grade A great four quarter effort for the girls Saturday. Lots of speed from the whole attack line, moving the ball from the centre to score quickly. A great game by Demi who shot accurately the whole game. Lisa worked hard through the middle getting hands to lots of ball. Best players: Demi & Lisa Millicent def West 77 to 60 A Reserve A very slow start for the A Res, who were down at half time. A better second half in the physical battle with the team pulling away. Lots of things to take away and work on. Best players: Sophie & Annelise Millicent def West 63 to 53 B Grade A great win for the B grade girls who led the game from the start. Another great shooting game for Mia, working well in goals with Jacqui and Kate. Heather again gained lots of turnovers through the midcourt and in the circle, giving the goalies plenty of opportunity. Best players: Mia & Heather Millicent def West 56 to 27 C Grade The C grade continue to show their strength, beating West convincingly. Great games again from Nicola and Krystal, showing their skills and consistency throughout the season. Well done girls. Best players: Nicola & Krystal Millicent def West 55 to 26 Under 17s A good game for the Under 17s again yesterday with a good win over West, who hold second position on the ladder. A strong game for Lucy in goals, again shooting accurately. Olivia provided the team with lots of turnovers and used her height over the shot. Best players: Lucy & Olivia Millicent def West 72 to 55

North Gambier

Under 15 A’s A slow start for the girls in slippery conditions. After adjusting, the team had a great second quarter. There were a few slower patches of play in the third, however the girls came out firing for the last. Great game for the Easterby sisters. Best players: Edie & Ella Millicent def West 61 to 30

A Grade North 60 vs South 38 Our focus for our game was to start strong and continue the momentum for all 4 quarters. North took a small lead at each break with a competitive South consistently pressuring passes. Caroline was strong under the post, whilst Maddie took crucial intercepts when required. Our last quarter saw North stamp the game and it was good to see all members applying team goals. Best players: Caroline Davey (Federal Hotel) and Maddie Whaites (Nourish Nook)

Under 15 B’s A tight game for the Under 15B’s, however the girls showed great teamwork, working together and take the win. Strong games from Matti and Alannah. All girls worked hard again to show some great defence throughout the game. Best players: Matti & Alannah Millicent def West 24 to 22

A Res North 65 vs South 23 The first quarter saw North go up by 14 goals, with an impressive turnover/conversion rate. The mid court had strong, deep leads onto the circle that allowed the goalies to shot comfortably. The defensive pressure all down the court saw the lead increase at half time and North was able to make some positional changes in defence. Both North shooters were able to draw the contact calls with their front position and get rebounds under the post which made the score increase again at the end on the Third Quarter. Macey Grittith’s made her A res debut in the Fourth Quarter at GA and looked right at home. What a super star in the making. A convincing win by North and a great team effort. Best players: Libby Morgan-Howe (Federal Hotel) and Madi Stegmeyer (Di Giorgio Wine)

Under 13 A’s A slow first quarter for the girls to adjust to slippery conditions on court. It was quite a scrappy game giving the girls lots to work on and take into finals. Best players: Chloe & Emily Millicent def West 40 to 14 Under 13 B’s The 13B’s worked really hard for the win against a strong West team. Many turnovers in defence kept the team in the game. The girls will work hard on valuing the ball on turnovers to convert goals. Best players: Tahnee & Jeda Millicent def West 22 to 14 Under 11s Some more awesome teamwork and encouragement from all players. The team continues to show improvement in defence and hard work was shown by everyone throughout the whole game. A great game despite the result. Millicent lost to West 10 to 13

B Grade North 31 vs South 50 With South being the strongest team in the comp i feel we did ok. We always seem to hold on until 3/4 time, then... Their defence were tight all game so with a change we were able to move the ball around a bit better. This game saw Stella Mobbs make her senior debut at 14 years old and hold her own. When Souths goalies missed Stella and Elyse were able to rebound which we capitalised on a few of those just not enough unfortunately. Best players: Alice Tentye (Federal Hotel) and Ash Whan (Sorrentos Café) C Grade North 42 vs South 30 A comfortable win over South by 12. We were a bit up and down, with one end being our better scoring end. Very proud of the girls for working through South’s defence and bringing it home in the last quarter. A wonderful team performance. Best players: Zoe Rout (Federal Hotel) and Ilana Adam (The Roadhouse East) Under 17 North 32 vs South 65 The girls had another tough game against a strong South team this week. The girls were a little slow to start however they had a strong second half to stick with them and finish out the game. The defensive end worked tirelessly all game getting their hands to

Yellow & Black lots of intercepts, and the attacking end worked well together as the game went on, transitioning the ball down the court into the goal circle showing some lovely movement. Best players: Gianna Morello (Federal Hotel) and Alysha Coon (McDonalds) Under 15A’s North 54 vs South 5 Great game girls. Played like i know we can. Defence once again were solid and our goalies converting with a high percentage. Awesome run through the middle with some timely intercepts that were converted was great to see. Let’s follow on with this performance at training and we can match it with Millicent. Best players: Coco Mackereth (Federal Hotel) and Jayme Young (McDonalds) Under 15B’s North 22 vs South 17 Well done girls on getting over the line on Saturday. We had an excellent third quarter which gave us the lead to get us through to the end. Hopefully we can build on this win next week. Best players: Summer Mackereth (Federal Hotel) and Sarah Brown (McDonalds) Under 13A’s North 43 vs South 24 Players demonstrated their versatility against South. They were a challenging opposition which tested the players leading up to finals. Best players: Shana Grassi (Lip Balm) and Kelsie Anderson (McDonalds) Under 13B’s North 36 vs South 7 The 13B girls played a strong game this week. Without the height of Penny and Megan in the team this week, the team was substantially shorter which was no issue for the team. The girls did an amazing job in adapting to these changes, making strong leads towards the ball and cutting in front to receive a pass. The universal nature of our team was also shown through our changes in positions throughout the game, with the likes of Zoe being able to jump from GK to GS, Misha from GD to GA and Georgia from C to GD. Well done to the team for your continued open mind in regard to positions and your ability to respond to the challenges we set you as coaches. Best players: Zoe Davison (Federal Hotel) and Lacey Allen (McDonalds) Under 11’s North 16 vs South 11 Bit of a change up in our team structure today which saw our senior girls play more quarters. There were some great passages of play and lots of defensive work to provide opportunities to score and take us to a win. Best games I’ve seen from the junior members who slotted in perfectly getting passes and making huge efforts to keep play moving. Well done to all. Best players: Jenna Baron (McDonalds) and Grace Collins (McDonalds)

West Gambier Blue & Red After an extended break it was great to be back out on the courts. Unfortunately not our day though for wins with the Under 11’s the only team to finish the day with a win, well done 11’s.
