When entering the winter of every year (during Nov.-Dec.), it will be the season of harvesting “rice” in the fields of rural folks. And at the beginning of a new year, there will be festive events for the folks to meet each other and relax after tiredness of farming for a whole year. วันนีท้ างทีมงานขอนำทุกทานขึน้ ไปสัมผัสวิถชี วี ติ ชาวบาน ในชนบท คือที่..เมืองแกนพัฒนา ซึ่งตั้งอยูทางทิศตะวันออกของ อำเภอแมแตง หางจากตัวเมืองเชียงใหมไปทางทิศเหนือตามทาง หลวงแผนดินหมายเลข ๑๐๗ ระยะทางประมาณ ๔๘ กิโลเมตร โดยใชเสนทางแยกตามถนนชลประทานเขื่อนแมงัดสมบูรณชล มีเขตการปกครองครอบคลุม ๒ ตำบล คือ ตำบลชอแล ๖ หมบู า น และตำบลอินทขิล ๑๐ หมบู า น จำนวนพืน้ ทีป่ ระมาณ ๑๕,๐๐๐ ไร ชวงบายแกๆ เราถึงเมืองแกน โดยมี.. คุณจรัส ไชยยา นายกเทศมนตรีเทศบาลเมือง เมืองแกนพัฒนา พรอมเจาหนาที่ ของเทศบาลฯ คอยใหการตอนรับ (ตองขอขอบคุณมา ณ ที่นี้ ดวยเลย) ซึ่งปที่แลวทานก็เคยตอนรับเรามาแลวครั้งหนึ่ง ครั้งนั้น เราไดเขาพักบานโฮมสเตยของชาวบาน แตในครั้งนี้เราขอพักบน เรือนแพในเขื่อนแมงัดสมบูรณชล เพื่อเปลี่ยนบรรยากาศกันบาง บรรยากาศหนาเขื่อนจะเปนทาเทียบเรือโดยสาร และมีรานอาหาร

Today we will take you to experience the rural lifestyle at ... Mueang Kaen Pattana located at the east of Mae TaengDistrict, away from Chiang Mai city to the north by Highway 107, approximately 48 kilometers, using the separated routealong irrigation of Mae Ngat Somboonchol Dam. Its administrative area covers 2 sub-districts Cho Lae Sub-district with 6 villages and Inthakhin Sub-district with 10 villages, total area of 24 sqm (15,000 rai). Late afternoon we reached Mueang Kaen, where ... a houseboat in the Mae Ngat Somboonchol Dam to change the atmosphere. At the front of the dam, there is a harbor and restaurant called Sai Nathee Restaurant. We took a boat to the houseboat located in the dam, taking about 20 minutes (thefare for round trip is 500 Baht/ boat with maximum of 10 persons).And if you are interested in fishing, hiking, sightseeing a cave, sitting in the boat to see views around the dam, they also provide you those services along with a driver as well. When we arrived to the houseboat, we chose a double room with fan and bathroom, which ranges from 500-1,800baht/ night, and is limited for 2persons (the additional one is charged at 200 Baht/ person).Most activities areswimming,sailing and fishing. In the atmosphere in the morning was very good and natural. This may because the houseboat is located in a valley surrounded by natural mist which isso pure. We could see sunrise by standing on the houseboat. And there was fragrant smell of pandan leaves surrounding us, making us feel comfortable in the morning.
ออกจากเขือ่ นแมงดั ก็ตอ งไมพลาดทีจ่ ะศึกษาประวัตศิ าสตร ในพิพธิ ภัณฑแหลงเตาอินทขิลเมืองแกน ซึง่ เปนสถานทีอ่ นั ภาคภูมใิ จ ของคนเมืองแกน เพราะเปนสถานที่ที่ยืนยันความเปนเมืองเกาที่มี ประวัตศิ าสตรมาชานาน วากันวาเปนสถานทีป่ ระสูตขิ องพระเจาสาม ฝง แกน กษัตริยผ คู รองนครเชียงใหม องคที่ ๘ (ป พ.ศ. ๑๙๔๕ – ๑๙๘๔ ) และมีแหลงเตาอินทขิลเมืองแกน อายุกวา ๖๐๐ป ไวเปน หลักฐานทางโบราณคดีที่บงบอกถึงความสำคัญของชุมชนที่เปน แหลงผลิตเครื่องถวยชาม และนอกจากนี้ทุงเมืองแกน หรือที่เรียก กันวา “ทงุ พันแอกพันเฝอเมืองแกน” กวา 3 หมืน่ ไร ประกอบดวย พืน้ ทีต่ ำบลอินทขิล, ตำบลชอแล, ตำบลบานเปา และตำบลแมหอพระ เปนพืน้ ทีเ่ กษตรกรรมทีส่ ำคัญ เปนแหลงผลิตขาวและอาหารของเมือง เชียงใหมมาโดยตลอด ประกอบกับประชาชนในเมืองแกนยังคงดำรง อัตลักษณความเปนลานนาในการดำเนินชีวิต และยังคงมีประเพณี วัฒนธรรมแบบดั้งเดิมที่ยังหลงเหลืออยูภายใตความเปนธรรมชาติ
The last 3 times of “This Winter at Mueang Kaen” got good feedback, which tourists came to visit continuously throughout the 10 days of the event, and can respond demand in every detail of joy to people of all ages and sexes. This is a good time for tourists to have a “trip to Chiang Mai” at the end of this year. Out of the dam, we did not miss to study history in Museum of Inthakhin Muang Kaen Kiln where is the pride of Mueang Kaen because it is a confirmation of the old city with long history. It is claimed as a birth place of King Sam Fang Kaen, the 8th king who ruled Chiang Mai (1402-1441) and there is a site of Inthakhin Muang Kaen Kiln aged over 600years as archaeological evidence indicating the importance of the community as a source of dishes and bowls. In addition, there also is Tung MueangKaen, also known as “Tung Phan Aek Fua Mueang Kaen” over three thousand rai, consisting Inthakhin Sub-district, Cho Hae sub-district and Mae Ho Phra sub-district, whereis a major agricultural area, a source of rice and food of Chiang Mai. This can be observed from that there are the temples, which are the spiritual centers where people can go to practice dharma, in almost every village. But today we chose to study architecture and buildings with exquisite ancient art form, especially the art and Buddhist art in Lanna style at “Wat Ban Den Salee Si Mueang Kaen”. This can be said that those who have a chance to see personally will be amazed at the grandeur and beauty of almost every piece of the buildings that appear
in this temple. These represent the Buddhist faith in the way that even foreigners are surprised. In this trip, we got a smell of nature... fully, saw the Lanna arts and culture ... fully, and got kindness of the folks ... fully especially “Mayor Ting - Mr. Charas Chaiya” who asked us to publicize the annual event. This is a concept allowing farmers in the area to do agricultural activities, health activities, and local cultural and art activities rare to see in order to welcome tourists to visit Chiang Mai during the winter of this year. This will also promote making of income for the community in the festival of happiness of New Year’s Eve “The 4th This Winter at Mueang Kaen” during 25 December 2013 – 3 January 2014 at Mueang Kaen Pattana Stadium, Mae Taeng District, Chiang Mai Province. Inside the event, you will see interesting activities such as lifestyle of Mueag Kaen people and demonstration of traditional farming, tasting grilled herbal sausage which is longest in the world. If you like fun and excitement, there also are Mueang Kaen competitions: half marathon, mountain biking, cars race rally, and the one as a highlight of this event, that is, “Parade of Mueang Kaen Agriculture”.

So, the tourist polices have to serve tourists thoroughly about serving tourists, which there are major service points in various tourist destinations such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Pattaya, etc. These will provide insight into the various attractions, manners to the tradition and culture of each of pace, where should be avoided. For the safety matter, the tourist polices will take care of and protect on both water and ground, such as boating, swimming, rented car, and hiking.
