In this issue, we will take you to experience the world heritage city... Letˆs go.

ART GALLERY )( 3 ( 2 ) %)( 3 * * * L Before we set off to visit Sukhothai Historical Park, letˆs learn a little about its background. In the past, Sukhothai was a capital of Thailand, which flourished greatly. It was a religious, administrative and economic center. Inside the park, there are landmarks including palace, religious place, and ancient remains, with moat, city walls and ancient gates surrounding in square shape. The park covers an area of over 70 square kilometers. And there are many spectacular archaeological sites. Letˆs start at .. Wat Si Chum, the temple not much far from Banmo Resort, where ,Phra Achana/ is enshrined, the large stucco Buddha image in Mara Vichaya Posture (Subduing Mara Posture), with base width 11.30 meters. The temple is a square building like Mondop (square hall with a pyramidal roof), but the roof collapsed all, remaining only the four walls, each of which was bricked tightly. And on the south wall, there is an opening as an entrance to get in, and walk up the narrow stairs to the side wall of the ,Phra Achana/. Or you may up to the ridge above the wall. Inside the wall space, along the wall, there is an ancient painting, most part of which is blurred. This painting is almost 700 years old. When you walked along stairs, it will take you to the roof of the temple, where you can see view of the old town of Sukhothai around.
Outside the Si Chum Temple, you will see ,Grandma Chalao/, aged 94 years, sitting and making fish-shaped ornaments made of palm leaf. She stayed here for long time. Next, you will meet a coffee shop and the art show of ART GALLERY group. This is where foreign tourists stop before leaving. !+)( 3 +! - ) %)( 3 | 1 )(.3 . + $ ! 2 % 1 % 4 + { + = { - ! !.-) (& % +( $ !) + 1 ) & ! - '‹ % 4 !.-) ) 2 % 4 % +( $ + % +( 8 [ %+( 1 2 ) )(3 ) 2 4

It is a big and important temple of Sukhothai, with a Mahathat Chedi in lotus-bud shape as the pure Sukhothai art, as the main pagoda, surrounded by the eight pagodas on the same base, that is, laterite pagodas located at 4 directions, and bricked Pagoda in castle shape that was influenced by Lanna. The survey found that at Wat Mahathat, there are pagodas in several styles about 200 pagodas, 10 halls, 8 Mondops (square structure with four arches and a pyramidal roof), 1 ubosot (Buddhist sanctuary), 4 wells. On the east side of the main pagoda, there is a large hall bricked with laterites, inside of which there is a podium that once was for placing the largest bronze Buddha image in Thailand, that is, Phra Sri Sakyamuni, and at present it has been moved to the Wat Suthat, Bangkok. At the north and the south of Mahathat Chedi, there are Buddha images in the posture of standing in the Mondop called ,Phra Attharod/. And there are also many temples and ancient remains such as Sukhothai city wall, Wat Chana Songkhram, Phra Ruang castle hill, or palace area in Sukhothai era, Wat Traphang Ngern, Wat Sra Sri, Wat Sri Sawai, Ta Pha Daeng Shrine, Wat Phra Phai Luang, Wat Chang Rob, archeological source of Sukhothai pottery (Thuriang Kiln), etc. for visiting for the whole day, which I do not think that I can see them all. Therefore, we can see many foods that are put in banana leaf or clay pots, i.e. jade noodles in banana leaf, rice steamed with chicken soup in banana leaf, paste of rice flour in clay, Thai desserts in banana leaf, mortar-toasted egg in banana leaf, and the spicy minced fish salad also is in a banana leaf. People of Ban Ta Klang originally were Suay or Gui or Guai people skilled in rounding up elephants, training elephant and raising elephant. Mostly they had to travel to round up the elephants at the border between Thailand-Cambodia. As the current situation of international politics, the people cannot go to round up the elephants as before. Anyway, they still raise and train the elephants to perform in the elephant fair of the province every year. Raising elephant of Ban Ta Klang people is not like that of the northern people doing for work purpose, but the Ban Ta Klang people raise the elephant as their friend, sharing the same roof with them. Therefore, if you have a chance to go to Ban Ta Klang, besides seeing the elephant plant in such conditions, you also will experience lifestyle of Suai people, and meet and talk to an elephant doctor experienced in rounding up the elephant. You also can travel to visit the area Chi River and Mun River flow to converge each other. And only 3 kilometers from such area, you wil see the beautiful views relaxing and inviting you to have natural study.

Mr. Somsak Phurisisak, Minister of Tourism and Sports, said that the governmentˆs direction of development of and giving precedence to tourism industry are on the right track since Thailand has various travel resources not different from many top tourist destinations of the world. Anyway, we need to plan for a complete solution for the safety of tourists first, and then everything will be smooth since it is an image of the country and will impact on the tourism sector in long term so that It may destroy the target of revenue we set. As the problem of a lot of tourists entering into, it is a significant concern because we have to admit that our current measures and infrastructure still cannot facilitate the growth of the number of tourists. Thus, we would like to ask for cooperation from the provincial tourism and sports to play a key role in every event, especially the case of crime against tourists, as well as discussing with the Royal Thai Police about prosecution against those causing the crime against the tourists to be stricter. This includes discussing with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), private tour operators in the approach focusing on the quality tourists or the ones with high cost per head per day, tourists with specific purpose such as spa, golf, honeymoon and marriage rather than ordinary tourists, which may help to increase number of tourists but they may make our tourism resources soon deteriorated as well. If we aim to only the number of tourists, that would be the wrong approach. ,Therefore, if we want to maintain the rank of our tourism, the ministry has to cooperate with other related agencies by playing as a co-starring actor rather than hero who does not approach to anyone. We have to think about getting into discussions with the relevant agencies to plan for integration of the tourism together because if weˆre conceited and waiting for other to come to, the concrete success would be difficult to get,/ Said Mr. Somsak Phurisisak, the Minister of Tourism and Sports.

Spice Market Thai Restaurant of Four Seasons Hotel Spice Market is one of the four main dining rooms of the Four Season Hotel Bangkok. With its name, you may guess itˆs an Indian dining room! (Or not?), which is actually a Thai dining room. It is the one decorated in Thai retro style with various props in 50 years ago in Thailand, placed throughout the dining room. The decor is also quite awesome. For its service, of course, this can get five skulls according to standard of 5-star hotel. For this meal, the first dish is my favorite dish, Spicy Grilled Eggplants Salad. This is what I often order when I am in luxurious Thai restaurants. And Spice Market did it well according to its standard. The 2nd dish is Beef Masaman Curry and Roti. This also is as the standard masaman curry available in other Thai restaurants generally. But the one making it look better is its beef which is quite more delicious than others. The beef is just right soft and oily and it is served in big size. The other dish is the most delicious one in this meal, with fried salmon and minced scallops with black pepper. When I ate it, it is as expected, that is, the salmon was fried very well, and the black pepper sauce and minced scallops to be topped also match with it perfectly. Conclusively, my lunch at Spice Market @ Four Season Hotel, Bangkok, is also considered to go well. And of course, most of Thai restaurants usually cook to be tasty for foreigners. So, I do not have anything to blame. So, having any meal in the Thai restaurant in any hotel should be considered as taking its good atmosphere and services...
