BELEN JESUIT PREPARATORY SCHOOL Miami, FL The new state-of-the-art, 8,000 square foot Innovation Center offers a mix between traditional classroom, maker space, and science fiction lab. The Center includes spaces specifically designed for each state of creation: inspiration, experimentation, and synthesis. The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Program gives students access to a large selection of tools varying from 3D printers and laser cutters to powerful computers with professional design software. In addition, the Robotics teams use the Innovation Center as their home base of operation and students are also able to experience expanded extracurricular activities. MIAMI SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL Miami, FL Opened in 1928, Miami Senior High has played a role in the lives of generations of citizens throughout Miami, the state of Florida, and the nation. Zyscovich was commissioned by Miami-Dade County Public Schools to master plan the restoration of the historic Miami Senior High School to its original grandeur, while updating it to a state-of-the-art high school. MIAMI BEACH HIGH SCHOOL Miami Beach, FL The architecture celebrates the replacement of the original institution with a new invigorating and enriching facility. Phase I of construction included state-of-the-art classrooms and labs, as well as the library, auditorium and fine arts suite, followed by Phase II, which included a “Food Court” food service area and a “Health Club” physical education facility. NAPLES HIGH SCHOOL Naples, FL Zyscovich was commissioned to revitalize the prestigious and historic Naples High School through the implementation of a new campus master plan, the addition a new gymnasium and locker facility, and the replacement of select infrastructure components, including new mechanical rooms, a new main electrical feed, new mechanical chillers and lift station upgrades. DOWNTOWN DORAL UPPER ACADEMY Miami, FL The success of the Downtown Doral Charter Elementary School sparked the need for expansion of the program to include a new, 21st century Charter Middle-High School. The new school comprises a 100,000 SF, multi-story middle-high school (grades 6-12) incorporating the latest features in flexible learning spaces, technology, and security in a safe, environmentally friendly school. PINE CREST UPPER SCHOOL Fort Lauderdale, FL The firm worked closely with school leadership to recreate and re-program the campus to incorporate 21st century educational philosophy and projectbased learning pedagogy. The school’s curriculum is departmentalized, therefore student-centered learning must occur in the “in-between spaces.” These spaces are designed to support and encourage collaboration within the students’ flow, as they are talking, texting, listening to music, and on the computer with numerous windows open and the TV streaming. CORAL GLADES HIGH SCHOOL Coral Springs, FL Coral Glades High School has become a special part of the community. Its flexible design has created an exceptional learning environment for the students and has enabled the community to enjoy its public spaces. CORAL SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL Coral Springs, FL This 24-classroom and science lab addition propelled the aging high school into the future by providing a new state-of-the-art educational facility of roughly 46,890 SF. This project alleviated the overcrowding and class size reduction issues the existing school was facing, and a prototype-design classroom building was utilized in an effort to minimize the design phases required and to expedite the delivery of the project. The master plan developed for Our Lady of Lourdes Academy was a result of the process based on the core beliefs and premise of the school community. The process included an assessment of the current and future needs of the School as well as the overall campus. MIAMI PALMETTO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL Pinecrest, FL The existing facility included a total of 18 permanent buildings, built between 19582006, with associated covered walkways. MIRAMAR HIGH SCHOOL Miramar, FL The scope of work consisted of a new two-story classroom building addition with supporting spaces, a one-story science laboratory annex, a new teacher planning area, and the renovation of the business education labs. In addition, the air quality in the main building needed to be improved. Coinciding with the renovation of the school as part of the City’s beautification project, the City of Miramar committed significant resources to the landscaping and beautification of the school property fronting Douglas Road at the main entrance. MONARCH HIGH SCHOOL Coconut Creek, FL This state-of-the-art high school is composed of a very compact two-building campus around a large courtyard. The assembly functions, such as the gym and dining, are housed in a one-story building opposite the courtyard, which is also a hurricane shelter. The courtyard is lushly landscaped and provides covered dining to encourage outdoor use. The two-building campus easily facilitates after-hours assembly use without opening the entire school to the public. Student Stations: 2,000 Size: 225,000 SF

MULBERRY HIGH SCHOOL Mulberry, FL In partnership with the Polk County School District, Zyscovich has planned and designed this substantial modernization and security enhancement of the 65-year old Mulberry High School. All construction and demolitions have been phased to avoid disruptions to normal school activities, and will expand school program offerings to include modern programs in engineering, robotics, agriculture, and automotive studies. NORTH MIAMI HIGH SCHOOL North Miami, FL Initially, the North Miami Senior High phased replacement project was to utilize the original site of 16.5 acres. The existing school covered approximately 60% of the site, leaving a relatively small footprint in which to construct the 3,200-student station replacement school and virtually no room for construction staging. Zyscovich recognized these challenges and came up with an “out of the box” solution that would benefit the high school program and minimize the impact of construction on the surrounding community. WEST BROWARD HIGH SCHOOL Pembroke Pines, FL West Broward High School is designed as a courtyard school with decorative metal entry canopies, Bahama shutters and a light and airy exterior color scheme. It is composed of six building campus around a large courtyard. The two-story “C” shaped and bar buildings contains classrooms, science labs, administration and the media center. HOLLYWOOD HILLS HIGH SCHOOL Hollywood, FL Hollywood hills High School was built circa 1968 and is located on a 29- acre site. WESTERN HIGH SCHOOL Davie, FL The design approach to the 24-classroom addition and locker room expansion at Western High School created a new campus focus, a renewed sense of spirit for the school, and organization in the site. MIAMI COMMUNITY CHARTER SCHOOL Florida City, FL The Miami Community Charter School is a 640 student middle and high school, unique because Zyscovich partnered with the charter school administration and staff to invent an educational process and curriculum. Through completely innovative programming, this state-of-the-art facility is being built at 60% of the cost and half the time of a comparable public school and will provide greater opportunities for learning. The school utilizes team teaching strategies involving 40-student learning studios, enabling more personalized student attention while reducing the gross area of the facility.
