March is a month of celebration for women. International Women’s Day falls on the 8 March and team New Age Salon & Spa wishes and salutes all its fantastic women.
There is a lot going on in hair, makeup and beauty trends with each of these segments becoming more and more specialized with the passing year. Cuts, colors, and styles have evolved into hair art. Colors are also constantly evolving and from the shocking pinks and blues to more cultivated and ornate ochre, sunset colors with a hint of the natural look looming ahead. The makeup sees a surge in the seventies look, with deep dark red lips and the funky and functional styles of the working women of then. Beauty trends are predetermined with the introduction of newer and savvier products on the stands for professionals. Our product showcase surveys and put outs all the latest in the market and on shelves today. Our people profiles include the young make up artist Iram Kazmi, blossoming into her own alongside with the much accomplished and much feted Kanchan Mehra the cosmetologist. We have showcased some incredible hair styles and hair art series, including the Selfie show by Inter Coiffeur Mondial chief Klaus Peter. The Dream Catchers, Cat Nicholson, salon director and senior artistic team member at Charlie Miller put on a fabulous collection for sheer visual delight. A step by step for a mid-length layered men’s hair and another one on how to create that perfect Top Knot. The nail section has a fascinating Alice in Wonderland inspired nail art. Click by Click the show goes on... On January 30th, 2016 Celebrity hair designer and World President of Intercoiffure Mondial, Klaus Peter Ochs took the stage by storm. His large than life presence was promoting his latest hair collection #selfie#kpOchs. The dazzle and razzmatazz was all too visible on the stage. The theme was well chosen and as contemporary as can be. “Selfie” synonymous with the phone crazed world and youth was the rather brilliantly executed theme for the hair art show. The event was held at Aqua, The Park on January 28, 2016 was attended by leading hairdressers of the industry and the crème de la crème of the society including celebrities and socialites. Dr. Blossom Kochhar, President ICD India introduced Mr. kpO as the “Best of the Best” hairdresser (among the ten best hairdressers in the world by Estetica

Kanchan Mehra
Kanchan Mehra is a familiar face in the beauty circles in Delhi. She has worked many years in the industry, almost 18 , and today is enjoying the fruits of her labour in a sense. New Age Salon & Spa caught up with Kanchan to get a close up view of her work life, her professional achievements and her drive to succeed. Here is a glimpse of it.
“I have always had a passion and interest towards grooming and well being of individuals. This led me to this beauty profession and made it my journey towards excellence. “ A decision made based on a clear identification of the field and profession she wanted to be in. Today she owns a chain on 3 salons by the name Navrang PROFEESIONAL and an academy in the name of International Beauty Academy where she imparts quality education in the field of Hair, Skin and Beauty to budding aspirants Kanchan did pursue the normal route of getting a graduation from Delhi University

and then went on to do a Bachelor in Education course as well, as the back up plan B. In keeping with desire to be in the beauty sector, she did a course in Naturopathy which in a sense introduced her to the basics of natural and herbal ingredients so essential for the well being and beauty of a person. In the field of beauty she pursued many courses in India as well as abroad whenever an opportunity provided itself. An education from Toni n Guy, ASK Academy are part of her resume.

Iram Kazmi : A young makeup artist Iram Kazmi got drawn into the beauty industry because of a strong and positive influence of Vidya Tikari, the well known make up artist. Her transformation into a budding professional in the industry is heart warming. Here is a glimpse of this transformational process.
How did you get into the beauty field? I got into this the beauty industry through my mentor Vidya Tikari. I was confused clueless after my graduation and that’s when I had a conversation with her. I was a complete “no make up” person, she really influenced and motivated me to take up this career. Your education and specifically your training in beauty and makeup. I did my graduation BCom (Hons) before I got into makeup. I did a cosmetology course and then a makeup course from Vidya Tikari. Who are your mentors and role models? Vidya Tikari has always been my mentor because I feel she is a woman of substance and a highly influential personality. And as role models I look up to Bobbi Brown and Charlotte Tilbury.
