Welche Klimafragen fordern Stuttgart? Das Land Baden-Württemberg und die Stadt Stuttgart engagieren sich seit 1977 in der Klimapolitik. Der Stuttgarter Klimaatlas und der KLIPPS (Climate Planning Passport Stuttgart) der Sektion Klimatologie befassen sich mit der UHI (Urban Heat Island) und dem Hochwassermanagement als die drängendsten klimatischen Herausforderungen der Stadt. Die Innenstadt, in der die öffentlichen Räume normalerweise liegen, akkumuliert die von der Sonne abgestrahlte Wärme, besonders bei heißem Wetter. Überschwemmungen in der Innenstadt Laut dem Bericht des Stuttgarter Tiefbauamtes haben die zunehmend heftigen Regenfälle in Stuttgart die Kapazität des städtischen Hochwasserschutzsystems erreicht. The inner city is one of the lowest spots in the Stuttgart region, and a high percentage of impermeable materials has covered it. However, the current solution projected by the city is to increase the sewage infrastructure rather than the natural-based solutions for flood management.
