TOWING SYSTEMS & VEHICLE PROTECTION

UN-RIVALED 4X4 PROTECTION

Rival aluminium bumpers protect 4WDs without the disadvantage of a bulky and heavy steel bull bar Available through Drivetech 4x4 and NAPA Auto Parts, the stylish aluminium bumpers are designed to last the toughest environments and can be matched with underbody armour to protect vehicles from rocks, logs and scrapes. Drivetech 4x4 Business Manager, Ben Lavis, is quick to point out the Rival range is easy to install, using OE mounting points so no drilling or modification is required and with LED lighting integrated into the bumper. “Rival bumpers are constructed from a lightweight yet rugged 6mm aluminium alloy body, with 5mm steel mounting brackets enabling them to protect without the weight of a traditional bull bar,” Ben said. “Their distinctive design not only enhances the look of a vehicle but also increases its approach angle to improve performance.” Each Russian made bumper is vehicle specific for the front and rear, suiting the styling and size of leading models including HiLux, LandCruiser, Ranger, Navara, Amarok and Triton to name a few.

Importantly, each Rival front bumper includes a winch mount and integrated recovery points. The skid plates and under body armour are using 6mm aluminium with stiffening ribs to provide maximum strength. Powder coated with a corrosion resistant polymer, the range can include plates to protect arms, radiator, engine, gearbox, transfer case and fuel tank, depending on the vehicle. The protective underbody armour is laser cut and will not decrease ground clearance once installed. The design includes apertures for water and dirt drainage as well as airflow venting, and the concealed fit makes for minimal damage during off-road driving and connect easily with Rival aluminium bumpers for a full protection solution. Although Rival’s bumpers, underbody armour and skid plates add a new level of protection to 4WDs, NAPA Auto Parts notes that they also produce a range of roof racks, tailgate assist kits and bonnet strut kits to ensure the rest of the vehicle has an enhanced level of performance.

HAYMAN REESE’S X-BAR For serious off roaders

Merging 70 years of towing expertise with a tough off-road design and vehicle recovery top of mind, Hayman Reese says its X-Bar is a truly innovative towbar. Designed for flay tray and tub variants, the X-Bar is available for a range of top selling crew cab fourwheel-drives. Fitted with forged recovery points rated up to 8,000kg, the X-Bar is designed to deliver on the most important needs for off-road enthusiasts.

Recovery rated With off-road caravan and camper trailer sales booming, the demand for towing products for fourwheel-drive enthusiasts is also increasing. X-Bar is the first towbar to come standard with three recovery points rated to a maximum of 8,000kg. This gives serious off-roaders a safe and tested recovery option with their towing solution.

Maximum clearance The flat tray version of the X-Bar is designed to increase clearance where possible and is positioned up to 100mm higher than a standard OEM towbar allowing maximum ground clearance over rough terrain. 72

The integrated bash plate complements the clean design and keeps wiring safe and out of the way.

Superior strength Designed to handle the most challenging of off-road situations, Hayman Reese says the X-Bar is built with stronger and thicker side plates and centre cross tube when compared to a standard towbar. The forged side recovery points are rated at 4,000kg each and the centre point is rated at 8,000kg. A forged trailer ball mount is used for increased strength and durability. Further, Hayman Reese explains that the X-Bar is ADR compliant and has been tested thoroughly to ensure it will stand the test of time in the harshest of conditions.

Attention to detail Hayman Reese explains that special attention has been paid to wiring plug locations to help ensure maximum protection and adequate space to set up for your specific towing needs. The tub version of the X-Bar includes a sleek designed cover plate to ensure a clean look when not towing but lifts up to provide easy access to shackle points and trailer plugs when towing. Hayman Reese says the X-Bar encompasses the quality synonymous with the Hayman Reese name, and comes standard with MetalShield twostage paint protection and SmartClick vehicle specific wiring solutions.
