My friend spent two years in Finland with her son constructing a holiday cabin on the border between Sweden and Finland. They built a sauna and terrace on the lake’s edge to enjoy the Finnish winter, and during the summer they go hunting with the dogs in the forest or have a barbeque. Liquid Glacial 著名建筑设计师扎哈·哈迪德为伦敦David Gill Gallery设计了不少家居产品。 近来，她更是从冰融化成水的进行状态中找到灵感，以此打造了一系列冰川桌和碗 具，让观者无不感慨“建筑女魔头”的匠心独具。柔和的曲线和褶皱是对冰川从静态 到动态过程的最佳模仿，很好地表达了冰和水微妙的复杂性。桌面被打磨成平静透 彻的冰面，折射出光，也制造了斑驳的阴影，桌腿则及时“定格”了水从水平面倾泻而 下被冻住的瞬间。 Architect Zaha Hadid has added a range of stools and a bowl designed to resemble ice formations to her collection of furniture for London’s David Gill Gallery. The curved shapes are intended to mimic the forms of melting glacial ice. The horizontal sections of the stools slope gently into vertical supports to look like pouring liquid. Patterns are milled into the clear surfaces to refract light through the material and create dappled shadows. One of the stools is tinted blue, intended to evoke the appearance of rippled water frozen in time.

Why are you here? And that’s why I am here, providing a unique healing tool. What healing tool do you provide? Sound is at the core of creation, and therefore, is the medicine of the future. I do it not just through instruments, but through our voices, because right at the very core of our being is a sound that is our signature note that is the song of our soul. So I go around the world and introduce people to the song of their soul.
How do sounds help people? It brings things into harmony. Sound is one of the major mechanisms, because it is at the core of creation, that brings us all into harmony. None of us likes listening to noise; we all want to listen to harmony. So if you are near a pneumatic drill, one thing you want to do is get away from it, but if you hear somebody speaking with a mellifluous voice, or you hear a beautiful singer or a beautiful piece of music, all you want to do is get near it. You’ve worked with a lot of multinational companies. Could you tell us a little more about that? What’s interesting over the last 20 years is that I’ve developed a platinum practice, where leading CEOs come to me, because everybody is terrified about public speaking. So I make it easy for them and, often, very experienced highly intelligent leaders will come, sometimes world leaders, they need somebody that can hold them and they share their problem with me, which is completely confidential, of course, and then I provide them with strategies about how to heal their problem. Often I have to be very strong with them, because the ego gets in the way. They call me a muse, which means I help them transform their status in very muse-like ways through enlightening teachings, through the relaxation processes and through great art and great philosophy. So I share with them classical concepts that shift them into a contemporary context. What advice would you give to our modern society and its busy people? D a i l y m e d i t a t i o n i s n e c e s s a r y, daily relaxation is necessary. Beijing is so stressful - people are rushing, doing. It needs to be more doingbeing, doing-being. And the only way to do this, because obviously there are responsibilities that need to be fulfilled in doing, is to move into finding stress-free meditation or relaxation process.

Her drawing, painting and writing traverses cultures and disciplines, taking inspiration from a deep engagement with literature, philosophy and the natural world. It is a 5-metre long floral drawing resulting from the combination of thousands of thin marble sticks, which Paolo carved one by one, as if they were pixels in a digital screen. Indeed, all of Ulian’s creations for the Bufalini Marmi firm - vases, small tables, folding screens - appear not only supremely elegant, but also surprisingly fresh. “History has given us the idea that marble must be heavy and austere, but I think tradition is just a start”, he says. A similar spirit animates Subalterno, a Venice-based collective whose latest collection of vases aims to reconcile the tradition of the Murano glassmakers with the most advanced 3D-printing techniques.
