secretaries throughout the United States and its territories. This granted her an opportunity to further expand her knowledge and practices while developing new professional relationships. Throughout her years at the Legislature, Mary has participated in multiple training and development seminars and courses to include Sexual Harassment, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Open Government Law, and Ethics in Government. Ms. Maravilla attributes her professional drive, dedication to quality, and laser-sharp work ethic to the Senators and staff that have encouraged her throughout her years of service. The same qualities can be seen in her personal life as she continues her online education in the world of professional photography. Outside of work and school, she spends her free time enjoying the company of her family and friends and gradually building a stronger portfolio.

Joanna McDonald Civil Case Manager Superior Court of Guam Judiciary of Guam

Joanna S. McDonald is currently the Civil Case Manager of the Superior Court of Guam, a position she has held since 2018. She is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the Judiciary of Guam’s Civil Justice Reform initiative, which includes the case management of civil/domestic cases. Prior to taking this position, Joanna served in various positions within the Supreme Court of Guam for eight years. Aside from her regular administrative duties, she continues to serve on various court committees to improve the administration of justice and court operations. She is also an EEO investigator and the alternate EEO representative for the Judiciary and is a member of SHRM national and the Guam Chapter. Joanna graduated from the Academy of Our Lady of Guam in 2006, the University of Guam with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with an emphasis in Language and a Certificate in Paralegal Studies in 2010. She earned a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Guam in 2011.
