Don’t worry because I am still relevant until the end of the term, April

th. It has been a crazy roller coaster serving as Lieutenant
Governor and I hope you will be able to give Frank Le the love and support you have all given me. Please take the time to thank the officers that served you. Also, officer, take the time to thank the members who have been there for you since the beginning. Remember that we all serve each other. Without officers, there will be no one to plan events and make your Key Club journey the best. Without members, there will be no one to serve. Thank you all for being a part of my Key Club journey and I hope you will continue to serve in Key Club if you are not graduating this year. Since the term is ending in

ROSE
FLOAT
Edison key club got the opportunity to help out with the rose floats for the New Years rose float parade in Pasadena. Even though we had a 7 hour shift, time seemed to fly bye. We got the opportunity to clean up the floats and even put some flowers on! Some of the more daring key clubs went on top of the scaffolding to decorate the float in some tricky areas. The experience was well rewarding and a lot of fun! The Meaning of Christmas Event was a very fun and most definitely one of the best events. Taking place at Phuoc Loc Tho, the event felt very heart warming and family like for it was a location that is like a hometown to me. I’ve always gone to this mall since I was a little child; thus, it was very fun to buy the toys that I’ve always wanted as a child for the little children. As a fluent Vietnamese speaker, I was put in charge of advertisement. I went around and talked to the parents and children. Some of them were very intimidating and reluctant of our offer; however, others were very happy and excited that we were there to celebrate a late Christmas with them. I had the chance to go shop with my partner Kevin Do. The little Asian children were the CUTEST LIVING THINGS!!!!!!! One baby was only 13 months old and could barely walked; thus, he held my finger and my partner’s finger as he waddle around the mall looking for a toy. It was the cutest sight and I couldn’t help but smile. The smiles on the children’s face, the parents’ amazement, and the holiday spirit around the mall truly made this event unforgettable.
The Meaning of Christmas
CLOTHE THE CHILDREN
“Christmas and the holidays are the season of giving. It's a time when people are more kind and openhearted,” Gisele Bundchen. On Saturday, December the 5th, the true spirit of the holidays was being shown wholeheartedly. The Walmart located on Beach and Talbert hosted an event named Clothe the Children and opened its doors to the children of struggling families and provided them with a nice breakfast, kindly provided from the McDonalds located within, a $100 gift card to use for shopping, and a to top it all off, a visit from Santa. Throughout the event, there were several KEY roles going on that helped the event happen smoothly. Before the children arrived, many of our members were a part of the set up team that set up all the tables that the children would eat on. Next, another group of volunteers were put on a team that helped the children get seated, made sure they had enough food and drinks for breakfast, and then cleaned up after them once they were done. Volunteers were also able to personally help the children shop, making sure that they used their money wisely yet still enjoying everything that they got. To be able to see all the kids ecstatic over every item they got, from the brand new Lego set to a box of warm socks, made my entire day because they didn’t care that what they got was “top of the line”, it only mattered that it was theirs. It was something they could call their own. Not only that but I loved being able to see the generosity of some of the volunteers because they were willing to contribute some of their own money of the children went slightly over their limit of $100. Clothe the children was an amazing event that was only possible to the extreme generosity of Walmart, McDonalds, and the awesome volunteers. I am so thankful as to have been a part of it.
Mikaella Miguel This is my story. (So far, at least!)
My Key Club Story
I think we all agree that the transition from middle school to high school was quite puzzling, since this was a time of finding one’s true self. I never really found myself till I stumbled upon the Key Club table during club rush of my freshman year. But why Key Club? I’ll be honest, at first, I was pretty hesitant, since I was scared to admit that I liked community service. I thought to myself while looking at the pictures on the Key Club display board, “Hey, some people might call me lame for liking the things I like, but these people sure look like they’re having a great time. Why not give it a shot?” The alluring feeling of acceptance and unity as a team is what really brought me to write my name down that moment. To this day, I’m sure as heck glad I did. Initially, I like many others had no idea what Key Club was and what to expect from it. I had a lot of daunting questions like: Did these people make keys?? What kind of keys??? how2locksmith?? It was in my first meeting of the term that I had what I consider to be one of my favorite “Key Moments”. I was a pretty introverted person, observing the vibe of the room and assessing what I should do that would result in the least embarrassing outcome. Through all of these anxiety ridden thoughts, a gentle tap on my shoulder and a warm smile unexpectedly greeted me. “Welcome to Key Club, you must be new here!” Meekly I replied yes, and the rest from that point onward was history. Eventually, I found out that this was no mere student club that was held only at my school run by a few teens, but multiple clubs run by a variety of teens that reached the vast International level. Nearing the end of my freshman year, I took a risk and ran for VP for my home club. I didn’t win, but I never let it discourage me as I continued with the club and found myself growing with every new event I attended. I accepted the fact that there was a lot of uncharted territory left for me to explore. Fast forward a year and a half, and I’ve been to a numerous amount of service events, various training conferences, Conclave, 2 Fall Rallies, and nearing my second DCON! (See you there cuties ;)) Seeing the growth of others and myself in the club really has impacted my love for the club. I’m so fortunate to have obtained skills from this club like confidence, public speaking, compassion, and connecting and making bonds with other Key Clubbers and officers. I agree with many others when I say that joining Key Club is by far the best decision I have made in my entire life. So in a way, I suppose Key Club really does make keys. Keys that unlock everyone’s potential as a leader! Thanks for taking the time to read this, and make sure you attend DCON! :^)

Although she is just a freshman, she has wholeheartedly jumped into the lifestyle of key club. She has been to basically every event that has been held, and has done so with a smile. She is friendly to everyone at events and works hard to make sure that she upholds the name of Key Club. She is an all around loyal member that brings smiles wherever she goes.

She is basically the right hand woman to the club and club president. Every time I read her Officer Report Forms, she always carries a positive vibe even when things are looking downhill. There has never been a time I can remember where she has been negative or pessimistic.
Club of the month-Fountain Valley Fountain Valley just completely blew me away for the month of December and January. They served 863 hours of community service (the most in the division) in December and currently waiting to calculate the total for January. They always provide service for the members they serve and readily has an event prepared for every weekend. The officers use their break time wisely to be proactive and give members the chance to serve while on vacation.
