Message from Our… Hello Thunderpups! This is your club president, Jeffrey Fernandez, here to inform you all that even though this year’s summer hasn't been full of service events as much as I would've liked like to let everyone know that during the next upcoming month of August we will have the great opportunity to attend many service events. Also to add to the positivity, I believe will have a very fair amount of freshmen students joining our club this upcoming school year which is amazing! See You All Soon!

Hey everyone, I’m Aja, your bulletin editor. This month we haven’t had many service events, but next month we will definitely have much more! With a fresh start at school and new members coming in, we will definitely thrive once more. Although we didn’t have many events this month, they were very interesting, as well as fun. You’ll see how we enjoyed them in our newsletter, and hopefully you enjoy it, too! And remember, keep howlin’ with service, Thunderpups!

Articles Galco’s Soda Tasting Event: Lizelle Oreno “Our president Jeffrey and I volunteered at Galco's Soda Tasting Event just nearby our school. The event was held for all the residents of Highland Park to enjoy the different sodas. It was a great experience! Although I live fairly close to the store, I have never been inside. Volunteering there was a great time to explore the store. When Jeffrey and I arrived, we were given different tasks to align and separate the different root beers and sodas by their brand and setting up tables and chairs. Seeing members from other clubs was nice too! It was so cool to be in the store that I've always passed by everyday in the past. I wasn't able to stay for the actual event, but I'm sure it turned out great! I hope other members can volunteer in this event another time!

July DCM: Aja Archuleta “The July Division Council Meeting was beyond fun and entertaining! I got to meet some of the other Key Clubbers from the different schools in our division, such as Eagle Rock, John Marshall, and Holy Family. At first I didn’t know where our group was located in the park, but then some fellow Key Clubbers led the way (they were very kind). There was food and laughter all around, and overall it was great to be a part of it. Once the meeting started, I couldn’t help but take pictures of everyone, whether they were giving their reports, or watching and listening from the sidelines. Then, Ms. Jekarl arrived and was nice enough to bring us Girl Scout Cookies after she joined our DCM. Afterwards, we had a water balloon fight, and although I didn’t take part in the fun, I was busy snapping photos of people tossing water balloons left and right. But I was really happy about our canned food/clothes donations. We had around maybe ten bags of canned food and clothes altogether! All in all, I left knowing that we could still serve while having fun.”

Member of the Month For the month of July, our Thunderpup of the month is none other than our very own Dustin Tran! He’s one of the members who will still dedicated to our club no matter what the circumstances are. He’s always tries his best to be able and attend the events we have. You can give any job to Dustin and he will give it his all to help others to make our community a better place to live in. Dustin’s lively spirit and diligence will get anything done. I hope other members will look up to this veteran and strive to do the same as they join our club. This month, he attended our Region 7 Beach Clean up. He has shown the great characteristics of Key Club such as being kind to everyone, and doing what ever it takes to help others. He cleaned up the beach for the better of the community and the safety of the wildlife around the shore. School is almost is starting, and there are more events he is prepared for. We are looking forward to see his bright smiling face in our events!

Officer of the Month For the month of July, the officer of the month is Our officer of the month is none other than Jeffrey Fernandez! His passion drives him to do great things for our club. You can always see him working for the better of the community with a smile on his face. He is a Key Club veteran who knows the ins and outs of Key Club and will use his knowledge to help him in his responsibilities as our president. This month he attended the Galco's Soda Tasting Event, and our Region 7 Beach Clean Up. In the Soda Tasting Event, he was seen with determination as he was moving heavy boxes of soda. Working in the hot sun was very tiring, but he still worked hard as the other members. In our Region 7 Beach Clean Up, he cared about the beautification of our sea life and did whatever he could to help. He is easy to talk to and connected with many our family from other clubs. His passion and desire to see others smile will forever live on in his soul! His fiery soul will inspire others to join!
