Woman in
Thought Leadership Shara Evans
S
hara Evans has been in the male dominated tech industry throughout her career - starting as a software engineer then head of program management deploying huge telco networks for carriers and government agencies, regional head of sales and marketing for a global telco vendor - and founded her first tech analyst firm in 1997 (which she sold to a publicly listed company) and has been running her own companies ever since then. Today, Shara is known as one of the world's Top 50 Female Futurists (per Forbes in March 2020) - one of only a few technology futurists on the list - and is a professional keynote speaker and regular media commentator. 14 | WOMENSBIZGLOBAL.COM
She’s appeared on global and Australian broadcast TV many times including a recent USA science education documentary series that was nominated for 3x Emmy awards in 2021.
In 2022, Shara was named as one of the top Australian futurist speakers - one of very few women on this list. Shara was an early female technology pioneer and has been breaking down barriers her entire career. She’s encouraged many women (and men) to
enter technology related fields and has mentored many people about the exciting career paths in the science and technology sectors. As a world leading technology futurist keynote speaker - who happens to be a woman – Shara has the ability to influence the actions of C-suite execs in global corporations as well as educate a wide variety of audiences about how technology can be used in many different ways, and the importance of ethics, privacy and security in the development of products and services. And, as a cyber security expert also helps many people understand cyber risks and how to best protect themselves.
