Is the Philippines ready to host the next Miss World pageant?

“I’m a true believer of taking care of yourself habang bata ka pa, hindi yung when you reach a certain age. I wish, I should do this, I should do that. Ako ngayon palang sinisimulan ko na,” bungad ni Megan. Kasabay ng kanyang pag-aalaga sa kanyang sarili ang pag-maintain din sa kanyang beauty queen physique. “I love working out. It’s something that I’ve learned to loved, I do a lot of weight trainings so hindi alam ng mga tao na lagi akong
nasa gym, sa mga bakal gym. Yan ang gusto kong gawin kapag walang taping. At least five times a week ang workout.” “I don’t know yet. Actually nalaman ko lang din two days ago through a friend pa, but I’m really excited that Mister World is going to be held here,” sabi pa ni Megan. “I think we’re ready to host Miss World here in the Philippines. But I think it’s

fter first working with Star Cinema more than two decades ago, director Tony Y. Reyes said he has always enjoyed his experience with the Kapamilya network. “Dati naman ako dito. I started with Star Cinema nung Hindi Pa Tapos ang Labada. I think that was in 1994. And then last movie na ginawa ko [My Illegal Wife]. Okay naman pinapayagan naman ako gumawa ng pelikula sa Star Cinema,” he shared during the grand media launch of his new horror-comedy Da One That Ghost Away (DOTGA) held last April 12 in the ABS-CBN compound. Working with his two lead stars Kim Chiu and Ryan Bang for the very first time was also easy for direk Tony. “Sobrang na-amaze ako kasi hindi ko alam na

ganun sila kakuwela and ganun ka-open and everything. At saka maganda yung naging samahan namin from the storycon pa lang hanggang sa shooting hanggang
ngayon. Super saya yung pagsasama even sa set. Super saya talaga,” he admitted.
a matter of timing. There’s a lot going on right now,” sambit pa ni Megan. “Maybe not now, not this year. Because I know that there’s a country hosting it na, but I think there’s a right place and a right time for things,” ani pa ni Megan. “We’ll see! We’ll see! Like may mga investors ba na mag dadala dito. Siyempre hindi naman pwede na government yun, because the government also has other expenses with other things. But we’ll see kung may mga investor na magsasama that will be great,” pahayag ni Megan.
Handling a big cast which includes actors like Maymay Entrata, Edward Barber, Moi Bien, Enzo Pineda, Chokoleit, Lassy, Marissa Delgado, and Odette Khan was also a big challenge for the veteran director. “Actually naging challenge pero nung nakasama ko nga sila, iba yung nakita kong rapport sa kanila eh. Kumbaga parang matagal na silang magkakasama. Kaya kung makikita niyo sa mga eksena talagang all out yung comedy, yung wackiness nila lahat. Walang pretensions. Go lang sila ng go, ganun. Kaya hindi mahirap i-handle,” he said. The DOTGA director shared that his new movie will be entertaining because it has a mix of different genres. “It’s a package na may comedy, may horror, may drama, may love, and everything na kasama dun sa concept. So definitely ibang klase ang naging takbo ng scenario ng comedy na ito. Super fun talaga ang mga eksena namin. Pagdating ng shooting namin, nag-cut ka na pero tawa pa rin sila ng tawa. Ganun kasaya yung trabaho namin,” he added.

REFLECTIONS By Dr. Jun Vencer
THE KNOWABILITY OF GOD
I
nvariably, the question “does God exist” would pop up. Of course, to those who believe in God, the question does not arise. To those who do not believe, why the question? But there are skeptics, who always doubt things. Like the agnostics, they rest their case in the claim that there is no way to know there is God. But skeptics, to be consistent, must be skeptical of their skepticism. They live in a state of doubt.Yet the belief that there is no God is doubtful. The option of the skeptics is most painful because they die without knowing. After allSkepticism must deal with the question is, “What If there is God?” Of course, there are two sides to the question. The first is,
Can anyone prove that God exist? And the flip-side question is, Can anyone prove that God does not exist? These questions cannot be answered by man and science. They are both fallible and limited. But it does not mean there is no answer. The God-question is transcendent. As a Philosopher said, “value that does have value lies outside of this world.” The only way one can prove the existence of God is God’s self-revelation to man. Since man cannot know God then God must enter the experience of man to be known. This, in fact, is the logic of the incarnation of Jesus Christ. Let me call three witnesses: Firstly, Leon Straus, a brilliant Jewish scholar, simply argued that God exists because He spoke
to Israel. Nothing can be clearer than that. One can investigate the history of the Jewish people and the state of Israel.Secondly, Jesus Christ claimed He is God who became man. He subjected His Godclaim thru the litmus test of His sinless life, death, and resurrection from the dead. When Jesus Christ died and rose again from the dead, according to the New Testament, then He is who He says He is, the very God Himself. If you doubt, try duplicating His claims! Thirdly, Paul of Tarsus says that all men already “knew God.” Everyone has this primal memory of His Creator. Undeniably, men and women are incurably religious. As an Atheist once said, “Thank God there is no God.” God exists and He is knowable through Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. And where can one find the footprints of Jesus in the sand of time? Read the Holy Bible. In its pages, Jesus speaks and as the Father says, “Listen to Him.” Jesussays, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” Do you know Jesus? Amen.

Ageless Beauties on what keeps them young and fit

ge is just a number and it’s definitely not a hindrance to staying fit, healthy, and gorgeous. This was proven by Century Tuna brand ambassadors Sunshine Cruz, Ina Raymundo, and Alice Dixson, all of whom are over 38 years old. At the conclusion of the Century Tuna Superbods Ageless 2018 — the first one with the Ageless category for 38-50 year olds — these ageless beauties shared their secrets for staying hot and fab. “I box, I spin, I do yoga,” shared Sunshine, aged 40. This mother of three also credits her youthful vibe to her kids. “When I’m with them, they make me feel ageless, which makes me look ageless as well.” Ina, aged 42, has five kids herself. “I take care of myself,” she said. “And I don’t worry about getting old!” Alice Dixson, age 48, held the title of Binibining Pilipinas International in 1986. Looking at her now, her flaw-

KC Concepcion opens Avec Moi and learns jewelry business, mula sa sketching hanggang sa paghulma
K
C Concepcion finally made something out of her love for jewelries and that was making her own jewelry line “Avec Moi.” She first shared on social media how her love for jewelries developed and how she prepared for the designs for a year. “The women in my family taught me, by example, to love and appreciate fine jewelry. I remember how my grandmother would get upset if I’d go out in public with bare ears- I never liked wearing earrings! She and my mother encouraged me to draw what I would wear, and would then ask their personal jewelers to create them. It began with my name, then fairies, then eventually fireflies, even going on to labeling my debut invites and giveaways with my signature butterfly symbol. It felt like magic to design my own necklaces, earrings, and rings in diamonds (my birthstone) and white gold, for personal use. I began to love fine jewelry,” she shared in one of her posts. In another post, KC said that this is her first time designing “anything precious to sell” and it felt “nerve-wracking.” Dagdag pa ni KC, “it’s something different kasi pag mano-mano mo siyang ginawa. Pinag-isipan di ba? So if you have an Avec Moi piece, yung bumili nito e kanya lang,” ani KC.
