fter their recent commercial went viral, Gabby Concepcion is on a high following his ‘surreal’ onscreen reunion with former wife and kaloveteam Sharon Cuneta. Gabby spoke with ABS-CBN News’ Mario Dumaual on Friday, February 9, and talked about working with Sharon 25 years after their last project. “Reunion talaga, bringing back the classic. Iyon ang sabi sa amin, eh,” Gabby said about their commercial. Expressing gratitude for the positive response, he said, “Thank you so much. Life’s good, people are good, everybody’s helpful, very supportive. God is good. Nothing to complain about, everything to be thankful for.” He echoed the sentiments of most

loveteam back in the 80’s until they got married in 1984. They have a daughter, KC Concepcion. However, they eventually separated and got their marriage annulled. They are now both happily married - Gabby with his third wife Genevieve Gonzales, and Sharon with Senator Kiko Pangalinan. “Ito ‘yung first time na nagsama kami na gano’n katagal in one place. Oras ang binilang noong nagsama kami, hindi lang minuto. It was surreal. I never thought that it was ever going to happen again,” the actor added. He is now excited for their dream reunion film to happen. News about the project surfaced in 2016 with the film be-

ing helmed under Star Cinema although it was postponed due to a variety of reasons. Gabby is still hopeful the movie will push through. “Kailangan lang talaga right project, para hindi lang ‘yung viewers ang matutuwa sa ginawa namin, maski kami, maski ako matutuwa ako na ginagawa ko ‘yun. At mas maganda gumawa ng project ‘pag gusto mo, at hindi napipilitan ka lang,” he explained. When asked about his message for Sharon, here is what Gabby has to say. “Thank you, Sharon, for accepting the project. Never ko naman hinindian ang kahit na anong project basta kasama ka.”

ver blunt actress Angelica Panganiban has once again shocked many with her recent revelations about an ex-boyfriend of hers. In an interview with Philstar’s Supreme, the Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes star shared that she and her ex-boyfriend never really broke up. “Yung pinakamalala yung ‘di ka brineakan tapos ikaw parang, ha? Akala ko tayo? Tapos kung gusto mo mang kausapin, di mo mahagilap, di mo makausap,” she shared. The Act of Dedication The precedent for the ceremony of baby dedication is found in the Bible. Samuel was dedicated by his mother Hannah (1 Samuel 1:28) and baby Jesus was dedicated to the Lord by HIs parents Joseph and Mary. (Luke 2:22) Jesus considered “the little ones” infinitely precious and He said, “let the little children come to me, and don’t forbid them: for such is the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14) Paul reminded Timothy that “from a child” he had known the Holy Scriptures (1 Timothy 3:15). I know that we will be able to say the same thing about Elias! The purpose of this dedication is meaningless unless Elias’ parents, dedicate themselves to the Lord, as well as Elias. Rightly understood, this ceremony is one of parental dedication. The parents are pledging themselves to obey the command of Paul, who said, “do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4) A parent’s duty never ends. God wants parents to continue to love, support and be an example to their children. Parents must take the initiative to love and maintain a right relationship with their child. Your duty is to know what is in their heart, and if the relationship should break down, you must do what you can to make things right. You are dedicating Elias here in the sight of those who love you - your Father in heaven, your church family & your earthly family. The Lord is watching over you and so are we. The festival’s site noted that film is the first Filipino film that has bagged the prestigious award since its launch in 1995. The award is given to the “Best Asian Feature Film” by a jury composed of the members of the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema (Netpac). TEN ESSENTIALS OF BIBLICAL MARRIAGE

rom the Holy Bible, there are at least Ten Essentials of Marriage that are true to every couple, everytime and everywhere. These are transcendental and transnational values given by God the Author, Witness, Enforcer and Judge of all marriages. 1. ONE AUTHORITY. “All Scriptures is inspired by God ….” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).It is the Word of God to man and woman. Marriage is not just a civil contract regulated by the State but a sacred Covenant made before God lovingly and volitionally. The terms of this Covenant is from the Bible and written into the Contract especially for believing couples. 2. ONE-MAN, ONE-WOMAN UNION. In the beginning, God created man and woman as husband and wife (Genesis 2:22-25). This is affirmed by the Lord Jesus (Mark 10:6-9). Out of the hardness of sinful hearts, this pattern was not followed giving rise to polygamy,

common-law arrangements, and later on to “same sex marriages” as legitimated in many countries. But is not the Bible against deviations from the man-woman marriage (Romans 1:26-27; cf. Leviticus 18:22)?Only God, the Author of marriage can ultimately define the true essence of marriage – not human law or culture. 3. ONE FAITH. Do not be unequally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14). The New American Standard Bible says: Do not be bound together with unbelievers. The general norm is marriage of couples of the same faith or religious belief. If God is at the center of marriage, and the couple is of the same Faith, then God’s shalom and blessings will extend to many generations after them (Exodus 20:6; Deuteronomy 7:9). 4. ONE HEAD. “The husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church ….” (Ephesians. 5:23). This is a difficult teaching considering the

equality of man and woman. Paul argues: The head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God (1 Corinthians 11:3). Christ and God are equal in attributes, but, in function, Christ subordinated Himself to the Father. Similarly, Husband and wife are equal but different in roles and functions. 5. ONE DUTY. After the fall, the default was radically changed: The wife will try to control (rebel) her husband and the husband will rule (dominate) his wife (Genesis 3:16; 4:7). So, Paul’s commands are specific to reset the default in the Garden. To the wife who seeks to usurp the authority of the husband, the command is submit to your husband, and to the domineering husband, love your wife (Ephesians 5:22, 25). God qualifies these duties as unto the Lord.Moreover, He gives us a new nature in Christ and also the Holy Spirit to obey His commands for a happy marriage (2 Corinthians 5:17; 1:20-22).. 6. ONE PURPOSE. To glorify God. The union points to Christ Jesus as the Bridegroom of the Church, His bride, and to raise godly children (Malachi2:15). Marriage is the survival of society and the foundation of civilization. 7. ONE FAMILY. Therefore, a man shall leave his mother and father and to hold fast to his wife” (Genesis 2:24). Upon marriage the couple becomes a separate and independent unit. Monogamy is the unchanging standard.

8. ONE FAITH-COMMUNITY. The spouses being believers, are part of the Body of Christ, expressed as the local church. They are not only a biological family but a spiritual family with other believers as well. The Scriptural command is for believers not to forget the assembling of (themselves) …. (Hebrew 10:25) to corporately worship God. 9. ONE MISSION. The mission of marriage is expressed by Joshua: As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord (Josh. 24:15). It is to practice the presence of God in their marriage and to proclaim the Gospel, the love of God, to others without Christ. 10. ONE LIFE-TIME. The Bible is unequivocal about the duration of marriage: for the lifetime of a spouse (1 Corinthians 7:39; Romans 7:2). God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16) although His grace reaches out to all and to give them chances to start all over again in His name. The marriage vows end with this solemn declaration “… till death do us part.” Let us build our marriage not just in love, which can be evanescent, but also with our will, in sync with God’s Word, in the name of Jesus, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and to the glory of God. There’s no problem in doing a public proposal. There’s nothing wrong with setting up fireworks or all legions of fans. But for me, I believe in sincerity kaya ginawa ko siya na kaming dalawa lang. We don’t even have an engagement photo or a video. Parang we took a photo a day or two after. Because for us, that’s what matters. Tayong dalawa,” he concluded. Christian Bautista said that he and Kat Ramnani are still looking for the perfect venue for their wedding, adding that they plan to tie the knot either late this year or early next year.
