Marlon Stockinger, who was Pia’s date at the ball, was all praises for the actress’ fashion-forward look. “I love how Pia is always at the forefront of fashion. She’s not afraid to take risk as well which I love about her, this year with ABS-CBN Ball and Star Magic Ball before, so i love it,” Marlon said. Aside from strutting on the red carpet with her stunning attire, Pia also looked forward to spending quality time with her friends at the ball. “I’m always looking forward to reconnecting with my old friends from ABS-CBN or Star Magic, that’s always something to look forward to. In a new Instagram post, Kris showed the effects of her condition to her body. In the short clip she posted, the host showed the rashes she acquired all

cades- I fall under that category,” Kris revealed on Instagram. She added that stress is a major contributing factor why people get this condition. She added that eating healthy would help alleviate the effects of the disease. She wrote, “Stress we cannot avoid, but it is a big factor. A healthier food plan with vegetables (except alfalfa

Last weekend, the show produced its first winner in newly crowned Miss World Philippines Katarina Rodriguez. Director of Miss Supranational USA. He judged the Miss Universe 2017 pageant in Las Vegas and hosted this year’s Miss Teen USA pageant in Shreveport, Louisiana. “Katarina is someone who is focused, determined and knows what she wants and is unapologetic for it. We at The People’s Queen are very proud of her and we look forward to seeing her compete and support her candidacy at Miss World in Sanya, China!” Veteran pageant journalist and trainer Voltaire Tayag said: “Underneath all that chiffon and crystals, lies Katarina’s unwavering determination, discipline and tenacity which won her Miss World Philippines 2018. At The People’s

Queen, our philosophy is mentoring by empowering -- empowered by one’s dreams, heart and mind. I’m very happy that Katarina took all that we’ve taught her and made empowered decisions. She wins not just a crown but she’ll continue to win in life with this attitude.” This is what Rodriguez had to say regarding her mentors and experience: “The People’s Queen developed me with a holistic approach in competing for Miss World. Cece and Voltaire more or less gave me the answers on what a queen is, handing me on a plate the areas I should focus on. But they left it up to me to really make every angle my own. They are like super cool parents that aren’t so strict but you respect them so much that you want to really make them proud. When you get two professionals guiding you with their hearts and still let you be yourself, the gratitude you have

makes it a bit easier to do the right things to win.” Rodriguez continued: “I’d say the most important thing they taught me is that the secret to success in pageants is recognizing the queen in every other female. The People’s Queen created this environment where we weren’t competing with one another and that’s why we became lifelong friends. Cece and Voltaire reminded me to do the right thing.” Executive produced by Olivia De Jesus, Jun Del Rosario, John-D Lazatin and Glenn Meehan, The People’s Queen will be seen globally on Myx TV (Myxtv.com) starting October 24; on TFC on cable, satellite, TFC online (TFC.tv) and Lifestyle Network on October 27 in North America, Europe and Middle East (October 28 in Japan, Papua New Guinea and Australia); and on Metro channel in the Philippines in November.

REFLECTIONS By Dr. Jun Vencer

ARE YOU FULFILLING GOD’S DESTINY FOR YOUR LIFE?

W

e are told that there were more Christian martyrs in the last century compared with all the previous centuries combined. Jesus warned His disciples that they will be “like sheep among the wolves” (Matt. 10:16) and that “persecution will arise because of the word” (Matt. 13:21). Our Lord did not pray that His disciples be taken from this world but that God will protect them from evil (Jn. 17:15). . In other words, Christians will not be exempt from trials, testings, temptations and demonic attacks but they are promised eventual protection

and vindication. Today, many Christians are standing before Religious or Civil Courts for their faith in Jesus. Many will be convicted to serve prison terms and others may even lose their lives. Dietrich Bonheoffer reffered to these as the “cost of discipleship.” The question is: If you and I are accused in a court of law as being Christians, will we be convicted? When people who know us or observe us evaluate our Christian life, will they “take note that (we) have been with Jesus” (cf. Acts 4:13). In fact, today, do we want to be known as Christians? Or do we feel more comfortable to

Family with lustrous image but dim relationship in “Kadenang Ginto”

ABS-CBN brings another enthralling story that touches on family love that goes beyond blood ties in “Kadenang Ginto” streaming via TFC Online (www.TFC.tv)

BS-CBN offers another compelling story about a family that glimmers with love but tainted by hatred in its newest series “Kadenang Ginto,” seen outside the Philippines via The Filipino Channel (TFC), streaming in most countries worldwide via TFC Online (www.TFC.TV). Get to know Romina (Beauty Gonzalez), a loving daughter who strives to give comfort to her family, especially to her mother. Aside from her family, she also finds happiness from her boyfriend Carlos (Adrian Alandy). They will pursue their

dreams together, and eventually decide to get married. However, a day before their wedding, Romina gets raped by an unknown man--a crime that will change her life forever. In disbelief of her girlfriend’s

testimony, Carlos will break up with Romina and blame her for her unfortunate fate. But another news will shock her--she is pregnant and the child she carries is the result of the horrific act done to her. In her moment of despair, she will find refuge in Robert (Albert Martinez), the owner of the company where she works. They will eventually become lovers, but Robert’s daughter Daniela (Dimples Romana) will get in their way and do everything to tear them apart. Mean and conceited, Daniela will treat Romina unfairly and accuse her of being a gold digger. Their conflict will push Daniela to run away and live on her own. But she will return as Carlos’ wife, and will bring with them their daughter Margaret (Andrea Brillantes). Daniela and her family’s return will also mark her quest to get the whole share from her father’s inheritance. But this will not be made easy by Romina and her daughter Cassandra (Francine Diaz), who is now a legal child of Robert. This will deepen their rivalry for the love of Robert and their right as the true heirs as they decide to live under one roof. Daniela and Romina’s rivalry will

seem to be reflected by their daughters Margaret and Cassandra. Margaret will grow up rebellious and used to getting everything she wants. On the other hand, Cassandra was raised to be kind, compassionate and respectful. As they live under one roof, Margaret gets increasingly jealous of Cassandra and does everything to win the love and attention of Robert, Margaret’s grandfather and Cassandra’s adoptive father. The two young actress joining the new ABS-CBN series has poised their acting chops at an early age. Brilliantes was just 10 years old when she headlined her own teleserye, “Annaliza,” which showcased her potential as a drama actress. She was dubbed as Teleserye Princess (TV series Princess) and won the Best Child Performer Award at the PMPC Star Awards for Television in 2013. On the other hand, Diaz is new in the industry and impressed everyone when she portrayed the young Erich Gonzales in “Be My Lady” in 2016, and young Kim Chiu in “Ikaw Lamang ang Iibigin” in 2017. Meantime, also part of the cast of “Kadenang Ginto” are

Eula Valdez, Ronnie Lazaro, Luke Conde, Nikko Natividad, Adrian Lindayag, Kat Galang, and Savannah Rosales. It is under the direction of Jerry Lopez Sineneng. Can their golden hearts still return to their gleaming glow now that they are dimmed by anger? Don’t miss the drama in “Kadenang Ginto” seen outside the Philippines via TFC, with its pilot episode streaming in most countries worldwide via TFC Online (www.TFC.tv) on October 8 at 3:45 P.M. namin sa mga audience natin,” pahayag pa niya. Bukod kay Angel, bahagi din ng programa sina Maricel Soriano, Janice De Belen, Ryza Cenon, at Eula Valdez.
