Welcome to the fifth edition of “On the Air” as we now look forward to not only celebrating our fourth Birthday, but also the exciting news that Ofcom has extended our licence to 2027. We are all so pleased to have re-opened our studios since they were mothballed in March 2020, and look forward to welcoming you once again – as many of the team now are back at the DYCC. We cannot pretend that the last 20+ months have been easy, but Park Radio is fighting fit and ready to get on with the job - with a busy programme of projects to deliver across our communities. Our aim is to establish satellite studios in both Harleston and Eye which will help promote ownership and community cohesion, plus providing a great training facility for each town too! Park Radio has achieved so much and the recent Outside Broadcast [OB] was a real game changer which both the team and listeners enjoyed very much. We also promoted three of the team to the Board of Directors, which will help the station develop and grow. Our monthly road trips to a different village have also been well received – Parky Bear always brings a smile! Park Radio is now a well established and trusted part of the local broadcasting landscape with its team of 50 volunteers both on and off air – this is also down to all our supporters, advertisers, local councils, Ofcom and YOU! I’m now in my 11th year with the project and personally love what I do and feel it’s a real privilege to be able to do this job – thanks for sharing your time with us all. We hope you continue to enjoy what we do and will help us by completing the short questionnaire inside which will automatically enter you into a prize draw to win a meal for two at Oaksmere.
