Never let yourself get lost in the crowd, then, or buried in oblivion. Stand out. Make yourself a magnet of attention by appearing larger, more colorful, and more mysterious, than the bland and timid masses.

48 Laws of Power Law one: Never outshine the master lways make those above you feel comfortably superior. In your desire to please or impress them, do not go too far in displaying your talents or you might accomplish the opposite – inspire fear and insecurity.

A

Law two: Never put too Much Trust in Friends, Learn how to use Enemies Be wary of friends-they will betray you more quickly, for they are easily aroused to envy. They also become spoiled and tyrannical. But hire a former enemy and he will be more loyal than a friend, because he has more to prove.

Law three: Conceal your Intentions Keep people off-balance and in the dark by never revealing the purpose behind your actions. If they have no clue

what you are up to, they cannot prepare a defense. Guide them far enough down the wrong path, envelope them in enough smoke, and by the time they realize your intentions, it will be too late.

Law four: Always Say Less than Necessary When you are trying to impress people with words, the more you say, the more common you appear, and the less in control. Powerful people impress and intimidate by saying less. The more you say, the more likely you are to say something foolish. Law five: So Much Depends on Reputation – Guard it with your Life Reputation is the cornerstone of power. Through reputation alone you can intimidate and win; once you slip, however, you are vulnerable, and will be attacked on all sides.

Law six: Court Attention at all Cost Everything is judged by its appearance; what is an unseen count for nothing. Never let yourself get lost in the crowd, then, or buried in oblivion. Stand out. Make yourself a magnet of attention by appearing larger, more colorful, and more mysterious, than the bland and timid masses.

Law seven: Get others to do the Work for you, but Always Take the Credit Use the wisdom, knowledge, and legwork of other people to further your own cause. Not only will such assistance save you valuable time and energy, it will give you a godlike aura of efficiency and speed. In the end your helpers will be forgotten and you will be remembered. Never do yourself what others can do for you.  by Rogers

7 Principles of an Eagle according to Dr Myles Munroe

D

r Myles Munroe died in an aeroplane accident just less than one month after motivating all of us Nkrumah hall, University of Dar es salaam. Let us cherish his wisdom through some of his work He said successful people are like eagles, and eagles have the following principles Principle 1 Eagles fly alone at high altitude and not with sparrows or other small birds. No other bird can get to the height of the eagle. Stay away from sparrows and ravens. Eagles fly with Eagles

Principle 2 Eagles have strong vision. They have the ability to focus on something up to five kilometres away. When an eagle sites his prey, he narrows his focus on it and set out to get it. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it. Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacle and you will succeed. Principle 3 Eagles do not eat dead things. They feed only on fresh prey. Vultures eat dead animals, but eagles will not. Be careful with what you feed your eyes and ears with, especially

When an eagle sites his prey, he narrows his focus on it and set out to get it. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it.

in movies and on TV. Steer clear of outdated and old information. Always do your research well. Principle 4 Eagles love the storm. When clouds gather, the eagles get excited. The eagle uses the storm’s wind to lift it higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagles uses the raging storm to lift him above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the other birds hide in the leaves and branches of the trees. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers relish challenges and use them profitably.

Principle 5 The Eagle tests before it trusts. When a female eagle meets a male and they want to mate, she flies down to earth with the male pursuing her and she picks a twig. She flies back into the air with the male pursuing her. Once she has reached a height high enough for her, she lets the twig fall to the ground and watches it as it falls. The male chases after the twig. The faster it falls, the faster he chases it. He has to catch it before it falls to the ground. He then brings it back to the female eagle. The female eagle grabs the twig and flies to a higher altitude and then drops the twig for the male to chase. This goes on for hours, with the height increasing until the female eagle is assured that the male eagle has mastered the art of catching the twig which shows commitment. Then and only then, will she allow him to mate with her. Principle 6 When ready to lay eggs, the female and male eagle identify a place very high on a cliff where no predators can reach. The male flies to earth and picks thorns and lays them on the crevice of the cliff, then flies to earth again to collect twigs which he lays in the intended nest. He flies back to earth and picks thorns laying them on top of the twigs.

He flies back to earth and picks soft grass to cover the thorns. When this first layering is complete the male eagle runs back to earth and picks more thorns, lays them on the nest; runs back to get grass it on top of the thorns, then plucks his feathers to complete the nest. The thorns on the outside of the nest protect it from possible intruders. Both male and female eagles participate in raising the eagle family. She lays the eggs and protects them; he builds the nest and hunts. During the time of training the young ones to fly, the mother eagle throws the eaglets out of the nest. Because they are scared, they jump into the nest again. Next, she throws them out and then takes off the soft layers of the nest, leaving the thorns bare, when the scared eaglets again jump into the nest, they are pricked by thorns. Shrieking and bleeding they jump out again this time wondering why the mother and father who love them so much are torturing them. Next, mother eagle pushes them off the cliff into the air. As they shriek in fear, father eagle flies out and catches them up on his back before they fall and brings them back to the cliff. This goes on for sometimes until they start flapping their wings.

They get excited at this newfound knowledge that they can fly. The preparation of the nest teaches us to prepare for changes; The preparation for the family teaches us that active participation of both partners leads to success; The being pricked by the thorns tells us that sometimes being too comfortable where we are may result into our not experiencing life, not progressing and not learning at all. The thorns of life come to teach us that we need to grow, get out of the nest and live on. We may not know it but the seemingly comfortable and safe haven may have thorns. The people who love us do not let us languish in sloth but push us hard to grow and prosper. Even in their seemingly bad actions they have good intentions for us. Principle 7 When an Eagle grows old, his feathers become weak and cannot take him as fast as he should. When he feels weak and about to die, he retires to a place far away in the rocks. While there, he plucks out every feather on his body until he is completely bare. He stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, then he can come out. We occasionally need to shed off old habits & items that burden us without adding to our lives. By Awesome Contributor - Rogers

The reason why Diamond supports Magufuli Friendship with Dr Jakaya Kikwete Since 2010 in which Diamond endorsed Kikwete, he has enjoyed close and fruitful relationship with the president. Special invites to State House, public endorsement, support and even being given gifts shows how close they are. Being the chairman of CCM, the president have to endorse and support Dr Magufuli, so maybe Diamond is helping a friend who is trying to help a friend, that is what friendship are after all. Power of money Diamond Platinumz was paid to perform on the launch of CCM

campaigns, Jangwani ground. Logically a fortune was made on less than 30 minutes performance. So maybe as value added service from the “Best live Act” as recognized by MTV he decided to endorse Dr Magufuli Disagreement with Lowassa Diamond performed on the launch of “safari ya matumaini” in Arusha for Edward Lowassa. During that time he was not supporting CCM, he was supporting Lowassa as a person. But he could have followed Lowassa also to CHADEMA if they had in good terms. So maybe they had some disagreements on how to approach the matter then endorsing the enemy is the easy option.

Personal choices We all the right to choose the candidates and party we like, love and support their policies. Just as you have your own reasons which might or might not align with your personal interest you ended up having a party, so do Tiffah’s dad. What if he started to support CCM since 1995 we just didn’t know because he was not a star, let us swallow it and do our part. The only way we are going to make changes to our country is by going to vote on 25th October 2015. PS: Do not take anything personal during this period, all your friends have their own options so please respect them to make peace prevail.

Tanzania We Want.

O

ctober 25th is just around the corner. We need leaders that will deliver, “the Tanzania we want”; and preferably effective leadership. Tanzania needs leaders who will use their energies, talents and intelligence by focusing towards solutions and changes like social economic transformation geared towards improved wellbeing and social-economic development of the Tanzanians. In Tanzania we have so many problems that need to be addressed. For so many years there is one problem which is the root of other problems that has been overlooked, which the coming leaders must eliminate. The growing “entitlement mentality and attitudes” among the leaders and even general population On various sources Entitlement Mentality is described as: the fact of having a right to something and the amount to which a person has a right. But myself I will define it as: first as a state of mind and attitude in which an individual comes to believe that privileges are instead rights, and that they are to be expected as a matter of course. Second, the expectation that one can achieve something with minimal or no effort and third, believing that another person or people owe one something. What we have to eliminate is this entitlement financial expenses among leaders including travel in first class or business class, using expensive luxury cars, huge allowances (office tea, meals, sitting, attendance, fuel, spouse, vehicle maintenances) huge salaries etc, which I believe they take a large proportion of tax payers money in the government budget allocations, that could have been channeled towards people development. The problem is that we, the taxpayers foot the bill for the consequence.

Over the years we’ve seen these public servants, bureaucrats and politicians have voted themselves the most generally entitlement benefit packages in history. The reason why we cannot balance a budget is simply because the entitlement cost billion of shillings/ dollars. Why we must eliminate this entitlement mentality. First, it does not make us stronger; keeps us weak depending on government and donors to solve our problems. Second; our dependence on the donor community is one area where we often feel entitled to the point of irrationality. You will hear that a certain percent of the budget will be funded by donors. We expect donors to give us resources to take care of many of our own problems, it’s funny. Ask yourself; is there no form of enterprise we can undertake that would give us the required resources and be self reliant? The third reason is the catchphrase on media these days seems to be “government should do something about it.” The government is called upon to take care of all manner of even our personal problems (school desks, latrines, refuse collection etc) and whilst some are truly our responsibility. Fourth which I see as ugly of all is the so called “I cannot do it if am not getting paid” popularly in Swahili “ya maji”. We have witnessed this during new constitution debates as many people used to argue that if they don’t get paid then they won’t attend the debates. Let’s stop this evil mentality which pulls us back How we can eliminate this? First, Family is root of everything, since from a young age, children are trained to believe ‘the government will take care of me financially by

giving me a job’, parents, rather than teaching your child that he or she is entitled to free fish for life (poor) or work (for smarter), please, teach your child to be a provider of fish i.e. not to depend too much on other people or government,. Second, I urge the coming government to develop and implement education programmes that are relevant to the attainment of the Tanzania we want. I am suggesting the inclusion of financial, organizational and spiritual education in the school curriculum. This is because most of the entitlement benefits are financial issues, caused by financial ignorance among the people, as unfortunate many people want to be paid more, do less. Third is lead by example as Mwalimu, whereby being in the senior management team in an organization or among top government leaders we should lead and live by showing our people that we are against this mentality, as instead of demanding huge salaries, unnecessary huge allowances, which suck tax payers money. Finally, it is this entitlement mentality that I can compare with what Mwalimu Nyerere called ‘pomposity’ among leaders, which he addressed on 7th July 1963. You cannot depend on the government to take care of your every need. It is far better to empower yourself and to be able to take care of you in every way possible. A change of thinking is needed at all levels. The world owes you nothing. Don’t gamble your life away with the entitlement mentality. By Seuri Kuoko seurikuoko@gmail.com

The Power of Motivation It was a weekend of December 1998, in a mansion of the richest man in Las Vegas where there was a party organized to celebrate his birthday. Out of surprise, the man stood up and said “As my birthday wish, I would like to see young men compete in swimming, so the winner out of all those who will jump in swimming pool in the count of 5 will choose one from the following 5 Million USD of cash A five storey apartment in Atlanta or Under her own consent, I will approve him to marry my only daughter Then he started counting, more than 20 young men jumped

into the swimming pool to compete. Less than 5 seconds of the jump, a very handsome and attractive young man emerged from the swimming pool heading to the Billionaire while trying to dry up his clothes. The billionaire asked him Would you take the 5 Million USD of cash? The young man said NO sir Would you take the five storey apartment? The young man said NO sir So you want to marry my only daughter? The young man said NO sir Then everyone was shocked with the response of this you man, the billionaire asked him, so young man, what do you want from me?

The young man looked the billionaire on his eyes and said “SIR, I JUST WANT TO KNOW THE NAME OF THE MAN WHO PUSHED ME INTO THE SWIMMING POOL” everyone is motivated in life, what matters is what kind of motivation do you have. Is that motivation taking you towards your dream or towards your failure and disappointment. The motive towards your dream should be stronger than the motive towards quitting, giving up or procrastinate. Do you remember that friend of yours who quitted school? Don’t worry, no one does. 
