Hair and Pregnancy During pregnancy a lot of changes happen in many aspects in the body. Two main changes that affect the overall appearance and growth of hair are changes in the diet and hormones. Most women experience accelerated growth and density of hair during pregnancy. This is not necessarily true; it is actually just that the shedding of your hair reduces. In pregnant women estrogen levels increase significantly hence prolonging the growth phase of the hair which in turn reduces the shedding of the hair, resulting in thicker tresses of hair. A lot more physical changes in the appearance of the hair may be noticed during pregnancy. Hair may change from coarse to softer or from curly to
wavy and even shinier than usual. Enjoy this phase and show off your hair instead of locking it away in braids as most pregnant women I have seen doing,. Don’t stop to wonder why God made it this way. This luxurious hair does not last too long after giving birth since the hair goes into the resting phase and then the shedding phase also sets in. At this time you can only treat your hair to improve texture and appearance. If you are not breast feeding you can take hair supplements that create an optimum growth environment for the hair. In most cases these supplements come with hair growth serums that are massaged on specific areas since the hair loss is more prominent on the hairline,
for example Hair & Scalp Extract by Nisim However, the key is to prevent the hair loss, rather than treat it after it has happened. There are a number of products on the market that can assist with prevention of hair loss, recovery of hair and to promote healthy hair, such as Nioxin follicle booster, Trichotin Regenesis and Nisim NewHair Biofactors. Conditioning the hair is particularly important to restore moisture, especially during the winter months. However all these changes that happen during and after pregnancy are not permanent and your hair will usually go back to its normal cycle of growth, resting, and shedding.

Make Your Bed! For Productivity, Profit and Peace
A
t the risk of sounding childish or lazy (maybe both?) I’ll just be honest: I hate making my bed. Rather, I used to hate making my bed. Why should I bother? I often reasoned. I’m just going to get right back into it later, and no one except my immediate family will see it (and as it turns out, they are stuck with me and my covers-tossed-in-disarray).
But something I read last week in Charles Duhigg’s “The Power of Habit” changed my mind. According to Duhigg, making your bed every morning is correlated with better productivity and stronger skills at sticking with a budget. It has also been suggested that making your bed boosts happiness. My interest was piqued. Happiness? Yes, I’ll take it. Productivity? Yep, I’ll take that too. Sticking to a budget? Sounds good to me.
Gretchen Rubin, author of the bestselling book “The Happiness Project”, explains that making the bed was “the number one most impactful change that people brought up over and over” as she researched her book on inspiring happiness. Can an act that takes three minutes (yes, I timed it) really make that much of a difference in your life? Apparently, making your bed (and other feel-good tasks like

exercising and cooking your own food) is something called a keystone habit. Keystone habits are those routines that, if you can identify them, spill over to other habits. According to Duhigg, changing or cultivating keystone habits “helps other habits to flourish by creating new structures, and they establish cultures where change becomes contagious.” A keystone habit is essentially a catalyst for other good habits. I figured that I was the perfect test case for the Make Your Bed to Achieve Happiness Theory (reminder: I never make my bed) and that it was worth a try. So far I’ve made by bed for 10 days in a row. And here’s what I’ve noticed: Making my bed inspires me to get my kids to make their beds. Which inspires me to get them to clean their rooms. Which inspires me to do the laundry, the dishes, and to pick up abandoned stuffed animals, dropped underwear (theirs! not mine), and newspapers-turned-light-sabers as I corral my two toddlers out the door to school. I look at my watch to see that it is 8am and the house is an unusual shade of clean before coffee. I’m smiling.

“Walipanda treni bure, kwenda shule za bure”
M

Your Body& FOOD
Soft, saggy, chunky tummy doesn’t say sexy to anyone. Most people have struggled with it for so long they give up and say, it’s age or I can’t do anything about it. The last thing you want to do is expose that body when you are not feeling yourself; it’s hard to feel good when you look at yourself in the mirror. Well guess what, it’s not just about what you eat.... it could be what your body is hosting. Here are 10 questions and tips for you:
1
Are you hosting toxic?
You have been mer but your tummy is making you feel all depressed and lack the desire to even get out of the house. Ooooo! Don’t I know? I mean it’s summer and the last thing you want to wear is an oversize top so that it covers the big tummy spilling out. Don’t stress – that makes it worse. Think about what your body is hosting. It could be auto-intoxication where toxic waste that isn’t properly cleared from the gut is re-absorbed and settles in as fatty deposits. Try detoxing by cutting out foods and
2
Are you hosting fluids?
It’s a common excuse and maybe even a cliché, but it happens. Try eating
just for cocktails - carrots, cucumber and parsley. I know it can feel like another diet so try juicing it up a bit. One mixture that you can try is cleansing and ginger boosts circulation. One can never have too much -
Fatty foods can also be toxic to the body, and hence require to be properly removed. One can wonder how you really detox fat. It’s simple: you cannot get rid of all the fat in the body but you can burn it and take in less by using low the use of fat, such as grilling, roasting, stir fry, broiling, baking, etc.
What is your

You’re inclined to be puff... Well it’s no wonder you are hosting toxic… you are not
prevents you from snacking. Why? When your cells get dehydrated, the body looks for water from other sources, including fat cells. If they lose water, their ability to use fat for energy is fuelled up, leaving you feeling hungry. Try drinking one glass as soon as you wake intestines. Two glasses midday, two mid-afternoon and one last thing at night (don’t worry about going to the bathroom; rather think about the increased oxygen in the system leading to the fabulous you). In total you of the day with more glasses being water than any leaves your skin hydrated and fresh. Water in comso keeps you regular.
4
Wrong food wrong time... Fresh fruits are the best but not
in just any order. Fruit is digested fast, so if you eat it for desert it will ferment in the gut while it waits for the rest of your meal to digest slowly. This can lead to a swollen tummy and an uncomfortable feeling. Rather try having fruit as part of your breakfast when you can eat as much as you like. You can even have a fruit salad at work as your quick meal – You know, those mornings when the time for breakfast is not there and the day is calling!!
5
Your gut has plaque... Undigest-
ed food causes a build up of mucoid plaque in the gut, which prevents us from absorbing nutrients and lowers our energy levels, bloats us and causes an overload in circulation. Colonic hydrotherapy can clear the plaque and other nasties to give you back that bounce in your walk. Try drinking a lot of water and green tea. – Yep! Your answer water. Has water ever killed anyone?
6
Dinner time... What time do you have din-
ner? Maybe it’s time to reconsider burning the mid-night oil after eating. The mystery behind your fat gut may just lie in the time you have your dinner, and most likely that late dinner included carbs. All the food and diet gurus say the same thing – late night starches are killers on the tummy. They suck water like a sponge as they pass through and swell you up like a juicy water melon. Try lean ing and tasty.
7
You’re probably hosting too much salt... Less salt is not just for those with high
blood pressure….it is for those wanting the great body too.
A gram of sodium will retain 450g of water. It’s great when travelling long distances and you don’t want to have too many stops, but it’s a Check the salt in your diet, especially processed foods.
8
You are lugging/hosting muscle that’s gone asleep... Now that you
…… think about where your muscles have been. Maybe the tummy was a little big because of the food or the pregnancy and the muscles
muscles take a break and loosen up. Take command – you are the boss. Try sucking in your stomach as often as you can. until you got the hang of it.
9
You’re hosting fat in sensitive “no go” areas... Most people only discover
it when they go to the doctor. Guess what, you don’t have to wait that long, do right by your body and it will do right by you. Intraabdominal fat is that fat that wraps itself around organs and increases chances of all kinds of diseases. It is caused mainly by stress, menopause, or simply genetic predisposition. No it is not an excuse to settle for less than the body you have been blessed to have. Recent studies show that moderate exercise will reduce that. I know you are busy working, taking care of business at home and all of that, but thirty minutes three times a week can do wonders.
10
Does it feel like you’ve got menopause throug out your life? Does it feel like you have all this
mass around a tense tum? Try taking supplements – B6 a day starting 10 days before your period and continue until it ends. Remember drink lots of water – it’s not just for pregnant women wanting to keep their feet from swelling. It’s for all of us.
Last but not least, look after your body and it will look after you. Enjoy your body. Feel good!

TERMINATOR
IT’S a rare case when a film’s most iconic line practically preordains its franchise. As promised, The Terminator, and the man who originated the steely machine — Arnold Schwarzenegger — are back for another go-around in “Terminator: Genisys.” “Terminator: Genisys” is taking the elements of James Cameron’s 1984 original and twisting them a bit to create an entirely new timeline. Two more “Terminators” are planned. “The Avengers” and “Jurassic Park,” Paramount Pictures recently showcased a few minutes of action-packed footage from “Terminator: Genisys.” all to help generate early buzz for what the studio hopes will be a bona fide summer blockbuster.
