All the foregoing in collaboration with different agents among which Golem, stands out, as the operator running the 7 multiplex cinemas since the beginning, with a quality and varied proposal. Dedicated to film exhibition, distribution and production, Golem not only brings commercial premieres to cinemagoers, but also different film productions from around the world. In these 10 years, it has presented in the Alhóndiga the works of Oriental directors such as Zhang Yimou, KoreEda and Takeshi Kitano; European authors with the prestige of Lars von Trier, Michael Haneke, Robert Guediguian and Laurent Cantet; and last but not least, Spanish and Basque film-makers such as Montxo Armendáriz, Julio Medem, Imanol Uribe, Manuel Martín Cuenca and Fernando Franco. Now, in 2020, we would like to recall the 10 year relationship between Azkuna Zentroa and Golem with a special cycle offering the most noteworthy of the film programme in the last decade, i.e., a selection showing the evolution of contemporary film creation and its commitment to society.
