The Branson Auction Celebrating Three Decades of Service to the Collector
APRIL 8 & 9, 2011
Hilton-Branson Convention Center Branson, Missouri
Welcome, We’re ready for Spring! How about you? One of the worst winters in history has embedded in its records some of the best collector car sales in recent history. Our hobby is alive and well and it seems as though records are made to be broken. One of the most interesting comparisons I’ve seen of late was that of Sports Car Market comparing a purchase of a 289 Cobra 30 years ago with $30,000 worth of gold coins (1981 $460 an ounce) to the sale of the same Cobra in March for $467,000. “The $467,500 selling price of the Cobra represents an increase of about 15 times the original purchase price of $30,000 and outperforms the gold market five times over.” And that’s with gold at a record level of over $1,400 an ounce.
Our Auction Venue The Hilton-Branson Convention Center at the Branson Landing is a stunning 220,000 square-foot facility that not only grants us an elegant new showcase for our seller’s automobiles, but accords our guests, bidders and consignors unparalleled waterfront shopping, dining and entertainment within walking distance at the new “Branson Landing,” overlooking Lake Taneycomo. The new Hilton Hotel at the Convention Center is also our Host Hotel. For Reservations, call 800-445-8667 or book online at bransonauction.com and click on the Hilton Hotel link.
Of course, those of us that play with old cars knew it all along, right? Please join us on your annual Spring hunt for new toys, its like Easter eggs for grown ups. As always we look forward to seeing all our old friends and the opportunity to meet someone new.

1934 CADILLAC V12 CONVERTIBLE SEDAN
This very special Cadillac was designed by Harley J. Earl and the lavish body was built by Fleetwood in an era of extremely diverse economics. One would think that the great depression would have fostered a more austere and spartan vehicle. Actually, Cadillac was very successful during the decade with the 12 and 16 cylinder cars producing over 15,000 of them. Owen Nacker engineered this 12 cylinder, overhead valve engine which produced 133 horsepower, and the Harley Earl design was a very unusual 4 door convertible with a dividing window between front and rear compartments. The additional luxury items of the time included the dual side mounted spares and a rear luggage rack. This particular example has received multiple awards including Peoples Choice, twice as an overall Concours winner and an AACA Senior first place award in 1994.

1927 LANCIA LAMBDA
The overhead camshaft V-4 engine and more make the Lancia Lambda one of the most innovative, imaginative and effective automobiles of the Twenties, if not of all time. The Lambda stayed in production for years, a firm and successful base for Lancia’s subsequent growth. The Lambda was introduced in 1922 and this 1927 Lambda Touring car is a Tipo 78 seventh series example originally delivered to Australia where a dash plaque indicates it was first sold by Shields Motor Company in Melbourne. It was completely restored in Australia with exceptional paint, body, upholstery, top and soft trim and nickel brightwork. Like all of its type it is righthand drive and has four wheel mechanical drum brakes . The overhead cam four makes approximately 50 horsepower and propels the lightweight unit body Lambda to 70 mph or more. This is a true classic in both the inherent sense of the word and also (by application) by CCCA. Brought to the U.S. in 2004, it has been in an important California collection since then, is freshly serviced and detailed and needs nothing to be driven and enjoyed enthusiastically.

1929 AUBURN 8-90 CABRIOLET
This stunning Auburn was owned by one family from the late Forties until recently and comes with a voluminous history file depicting in photos, articles and receipts its sixty years as the family’s constant companion. It has been restored by the family twice, once in the 70’s and again since the turn of the century. It was shown back in 1956, at a time when many of today’s collector cars were still in new car dealers’ showrooms or on their designers’ drawing boards. Certified by the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club in 2006, it won an ACD First Primary award in 2007. Finished in red with a black beltline molding that sweeps back from the radiator cap across the hood and down the sides to the rear bumper and black fenders and running boards, it has matching red wire wheels with chrome centerlock nuts, wide whitewall tires, Auburn step plates, a rumble seat, dual sidemounted spares with strap-on mirrors, Trippe lights, Auburn’s characteristic black tube bumpers with chrome end caps, a folding luggage rack with wooden slats and a golf bag door on the right side. The top is beige cloth complementing the tan leather upholstery. It has been sympathetically restored to showroom condition . Very few collector cars of any age or significance have such a long, caring ownership history, let alone one documented so well and presented in such attractive condition. It needs nothing except another sympathetic caretaker. w w w. B R A N S O N A U C T I O N . c o m • 8 0 0 - 3 3 5- 3 0 6 3

1932 PACKARD 902 COUPE ROADSTER
1932 Packard Model 902 Coupe Roadster 319 Inline 8 Packard, a leader in the luxury car market, introduced its new 9th Series Standard Eight lines for 1932 on June 23, 1931. Stealing center-stage was the fabulous lineup of the new 902 series which fielded a dozen different body styles mounted on a wheelbase of 136.5. Under the hood was an improved 319 cubic-inch in-line eight that was now pumping out 110 HP, making Packards some of the fastest and most powerful cars on the market. Among the more popular body styles was the Coupe-Roadster, body style 509, which gave the owner the look and feel of a spirited sports car. Providing access to the rear compartment was the smaller door, to stow away golf clubs . One of the smartest innovations seen on this new coupe-roadster was the top, which when folded down was completely below the belt-line of the body giving the car a superb profile. This beautiful example has been finished in a correct shade of Dove Gray with red accents, the interior fitted in quality black leather while the top, also in black, fits as snug and tight as when this Packard was new. Given a complete restoration that was finished in 2007, everything seems right about this car. Well appointed with very desirable accessories, such as the enclosed dual-side mount tires, and an accessory trunk rack. The front mounted Pilot Ray lamp magically swivels to illuminate the pathway the car takes through a turn. Other rare and factory approved items include a custom fitted grille guard and the Goddess of Speed radiator mascot.

1937 CORD 810 SUPERCHARGED
170hp 288.6 cu. in. L-head V8, front wheel drive, four-speed electric preselector transmission. In 1929, E.L. Cord took Auburn to the next step, the Cord Front Drive – most commonly known as the L29. With its distinctive and sporting appearance and great mechanical performance it was considered a relative bargain for its offering price. Designed by the renowned Gordon Buehrig, Its distinctive styling provided the basis for a new medium-priced front-wheel drive car from Cord eventually leading to the 1936 model 810. Powered by a Lycoming V8 engine, it created an instant sensation at its November, 1935 introduction at the New York Auto Show – so much so that Cord could not meet the ensuing demand for orders. Model 810/812 Cord Phaetons were owned by some of the most stylish and noteworthy individuals of the period some of which included Frank Lloyd Wright, Gary Cooper, and Clark Gable, while the great Tom Mix owned three Cords simultaneously, one of which was sold here last year for a record price. Model 810/812 Cords were only produced for a very limited time, about 18 months in total, from February 1936 to August 1937 This example was built in the spring of 1936 as S/N 1984H and was fitted with an unsupercharged engine FB385. Notably, it was one of the first production Phaetons delivered. Supercharged engines were not introduced until the Model 812 was introduced in 1937. While Ken Steinberg was restoring this car, he purchased a late supercharged engine with S/N FC2927 from wellknown Cord collector Robert McEwan. He installed the engine and made a few minor modifications to the car (primarily the use of locks on the glove box doors) to as closely resemble a 1937 Model 812 car. Following the engine and cosmetic work the car was reregistered in the mid 1980s as a 1937 example. It was also with great time, effort and diligence that the present owner uncovered the true history of the car as it was previously unknown to the ACD club. In 2003, following careful inspection by the objective marque experts of the ACD club, the car was certified as a Category One car and subsequently received the highest honors available to be bestowed on an example such as this. Upon close examination, one can see the quality of the paint, chrome, and upholstery remain excellent even today and show only limited signs of aging. The undercarriage is clean and blacked out, although it is not show quality. Similarly, the engine bay was properly detailed during the restoration, but shows some evidence of use and maintenance. The car is fully equipped with a heater, defroster ducts, radio and fog lights, each of which are very desirable options. w w w. B R A N S O N A U C T I O N . c o m • 8 0 0 - 3 3 5- 3 0 6 3

1960 MERCEDES BENZ 220 SE CABRIOLET
The first 220S Cabriolet was introduced at the Frankfurt Auto Show in September of 1955. The first production cabriolet rolled off the assembly line in July of 1956. The coupes followed in October of 1956. These cars were very luxurious for their time. Mercedes Benz realized that there was a market for a less expensive, more personal automobile. This was achieved by shortening the chassis of the very successful 220 Sedan by 4.7 inches and adding lots of chrome, wood and leather. Still hand-built, these elegant automobiles were very driveable. The platform for these fine automobiles are very different from their sedan counterparts. There are additional floor reinforcements to compensate for the absence of a roof, the overhang behind the rear wheel is longer. Longer doors made for a very appealing look to the car and to save weight, the doors were steel skinned over alloy frames. Lower in weight, with better structural strength than the previous model, the 220 was a better handling car as well. In 1959 the cabriolets and coupes received the 2.2 liter fuel injected power plant which gave them more power. Produced until November 1960 there were only 5,371 Pontoon coupe and cabriolets built over the four years of production, making it a very rare automobile. The 220 SE Cabriolet you see here has been owned by very particular and caring owners its entire life as can be seen by close inspection of the fit, finish and overall condition. 6

1948 DELAHAYE 148L
Started by Emile Delahaye in 1895, standardizing on overhead valve inline sixcylinder engines in the 30’s and developing a reputation for power, reliability and fuel economy which brought the marque recognition as one of France’s grandes routieres and a successful competitor in grands prix and sports car races including the 24 Hours of LeMans. Following World War II Delahaye offered sixes with 4,453cc in its sports models and 3,557cc in the more popular 135 and 148. Offering luxury and performance competitive with most of the European marques of the day and even the larger American cars, the 148L sedan had 95hp, independent front suspension and a long 124” wheelbase for a comfortable ride and abundant interior room. It boasts a Cotal semi-automatic 4-speed gearbox. New tires have been fitted for safety and the wheels repainted. Finished, as all self-respecting French luxury sedans of the day were, in Black with Tan cloth upholstery, its coachwork by LeTourneur et Marchand is distinguished by wide-opening doors hinged at the center pillar which give unusually easy entry either into the front or rear seats. Under the hood the engine is orderly and still has its original air filter assembly. The interior is luxuriously appointed with wood trim and window surrounds, rear seat armrests, pullout ash receivers, a full complement of working gauges and a beautiful 3-spoke steering wheel with riveted leaf spring spokes. The correct spare wheel and tire are in the trunk. This is a wonderfully preserved automobile of impeccable quality and heritage that needs nothing to be used and enjoyed and its rarity and heritage is sufficiently important that it should probably never feel the restorer’s touch, just be driven and displayed with pride. It is recognized by the Classic Car Club of America as a Full Classic™, one of a select series of postWorld War II automobiles accorded this important distinction. This example is typical of the 148L and more importantly is almost miraculously original and well maintained. It was displayed in the Preservation Class at the 2008 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. It also completed the Pebble Beach Tour and, the original radio actually works. w w w. B R A N S O N A U C T I O N . c o m • 8 0 0 - 3 3 5- 3 0 6 3

Chevrolet’s Impala option made its debut in 1958, adding exclusive trim, higher-grade interiors and a new optional 348 CI big block generating as much as 315 horsepower. Fresh from a restoration completed in December 2010, this 1958 Impala convertible is equipped with a Tri Power-equipped 348 CI engine mated to a Turbo Glide transmission. It is correctly finished as original in Tuxedo black with a white convertible top and correct Black, Grey and Blue interior. Optional extras include power steering and Wonderbar AM/FM radio.
1960 LINCOLN MK V CONVERTIBLE 430 CI 315 Horsepower – Automatic While the 1958-1960 Lincoln Continental continues to rank among the largest post-war American cars ever produced, they were also one of the most comfortable, powerful, and stylish luxury cars of the era. The Lincoln Continental Mark V Convertible presented here is one of only 2,044 examples produced in 1960, and it is among fewer than 500 examples surviving today. This car was ordered new by the dealer and kept for private use until sold to a personal friend, then, re-purchased and kept in the Bliss collection until four years ago when purchased by the current owner. The subject of an extensive re-commissioning by this long time Lincoln collector assures the new owner of an excellent purchase with all systems working.

1923 MAXWELL OPERA COUPE
Ben Briscoe and Johnathan Maxwell didn’t have a lot of working capital in 1903 so they convinced the consummate investor of the time that their new Maxwell automobile was a worthy venture. None other than J.P. Morgan put up the necessary $150,000 and the MaxwellBriscoe Company was born. Alice Ramsey was the first woman to drive across the country in a Maxwell, and many famous names were involved over the years, including William Durant and Walter Chrysler who was at the head of the company in its last year of production, the same year this little coupe was produced. An older but very sound restoration that also has the distinction of participating in the very first Great Race Rally Across America. A very rare car with a very interesting provenance.
1935 FORD 48 DELUXE PHAETON
In 1935 Ford manufactured over 800,000 cars, and only 6,073 of them were deluxe Phaetons. The power was a 221 cubic inch flat head V-8 producing 85 horsepower and shifted with a 3 speed transmission. Today the Model 48 Deluxe Phaeton is not only rare, but also very desirable. This Particular car has a known ownership history from new, also very rare and desirable, and it sports its original side curtains and mostly original paint. A new correct top has been fitted and some time ago the brakes were upgraded to hydraulic. This Phaeton is definitely not a “Barn Find”, and it has not been “Totally Restored”. It’s just real.

1941 LINCOLN 2 DOOR CONTINENTAL COUPE 292 cubic inch V-12 / 120 Horsepower Think “classic,” and one of the collector cars you’re likely to envision is the original 1941 Lincoln Continental. Ford Motor Company president Edsel Ford, was responsible for one of the most revered automotive designs of all time: the timeless 19401941 Lincoln Continental. From the moment it appeared it was a car that turned heads and made people eager to part with lots of money just to own one. Today, seventy years later, it still does. This older restoration is very well maintained in its correct black with tan Bedford cloth interior with leather trim. Still sporting it’s original radio and Columbia Overdrive rear axle and new wide white sidewall tires. A complete engine and transmission rebuild have seen very few miles since completion.
1948 PACKARD 2 DOOR CLUB SEDAN 288 Cubic inch straight 8 135 Horsepower Packard presented its first postwar body in 1948 — prior to its competition from the major firms Cadillac, Lincoln and Chrysler. The design chosen was of the “bathtub” style, predicted during the war as the destined future of automobiles. Six cylinder cars were dropped for the home market. The car presented here has been the subject of mild restoration and extreme care and exhibits an excellent finish and interior with excellent detailing underhood.
1949 PACKARD CUSTOM SEDAN Super Eight Series 2306 Straight 8 356 Cubic inch – 165Horsepower With the “Goddess of Speed” hood ornament leading the way for this Golden Anniversary edition of Packard the Super Eight trim upgraded the offering considerably. More and longer side moldings plus full fender skirts and the cloisonné hub cap emblems were stylish features. This top of the line Packard retains its original luxury interior.

1950 AUSTIN ATLANTIC A90 With its curved hood, three headlights, chrome hood stripe, curved and raked windshield, sweeping envelope fenders, skirted rear wheels and sleek blind quarter convertible top it was way ahead of its time in 1950 and still looks like an auto show concept car that has somehow found its way onto the street. Dark blue leather with white piping and a dark blue convertible top are emblematic of the early postwar years’ enthusiasm and optimism. Sir Herbert Austin’s company envisioned it specifically to appeal to the American market, giving it dual outside mirrors, whitewall tires with hubcaps and chrome trim rings, gold gauge faces, seating for five with a 60-40 split front bench seat and, for some reason known only to British designers, two gloveboxes in the dashboard. Its 88hp 2660cc overhead valve four later proved its mettle as the powerplant for the first AustinHealey 100/4s. This example has been thoughtfully restored with attractive paint, a very nice interior and a very nicely presented engine compartment with painted firewall . A spare wheel and tire, jack and handle reside in the trunk to complete its equipment.
1950 FORD CUSTOM CONVERTIBLE 238 V8 – 100 Horsepower A beautiful ’50 Ford Convertible that has been restored back to original condition except for the dual exhaust. It runs and drives extremely well and is ready to go. The 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive connected to the 238 V8 producing 100 horsepower makes modern speeds with little effort. Features include an AM radio, clock, tonneau cover and a tan convertible top. Great investment convertible.

1956 FORD FAIRLANE 312 V8
The name Fairlane came from Henry Ford’s mansion located on Fair Lane near Dearborn, Michigan. For 1955, the Ford models were completely redesigned with longer, lower and wider bodies and offered with a broad range of V8 engines as well as distinctive brightwork and elegant interior treatments. The Fords were mildly restyled for 1956 including Ford’s new ‘lifeguard design’ safety features, which comprised dished steering wheels, improved door latches and breakaway rear-view mirrors, while a padded dash and seat belts remained extra-cost options. This beautiful hard top is equipped with and automatic transmission and power brakes.
292 Cubic inch V-8 – 162 Horsepower Ford had a lot to offer the convertible buyer in 1955. Dramatically new sheet metal and a trendy wraparound windshield draped the carryover 115.5-inchwheelbase chassis. A concave checkerboard grille, Fairlane “checkmark” bodyside trim, and large “Jet-Tube” taillights completed the look. Interiors featured a new dash design that still retained the seethrough “Astra-Dial” speedometer concept first seen in 1954. Convertibles featured all-vinyl upholstery in five two-tone combinations. This Sunliner has only been driven about 200 miles since its total restoration. The automatic transmission, and power top, plus everything converted to 12 volt, makes everything a breeze in the Sunliner.

1956 FORD THUNDERBIRD 312 V-8 – 225 Horsepower Though inspired by, and positioned directly against, the Corvette, Ford billed the Thunderbird as a personal luxury car putting a greater emphasis on the car’s comfort and convenience features rather than its inherent sportiness. Thunderbird sold exceptionally well in its first year. In fact it out sold the Corvette by more than 23-to-one for 1955 with 16,155 Thunderbirds sold against 700 Corvettes. With the Thunderbird considered a success, few changes were made to the car for 1956. The most notable change was moving the spare tire to a continental-style rear bumper in order to make more storage room in the trunk. Among the few other changes were new paint colors, the addition of circular porthole windows in the fiberglass roof to improve rearward visibility, and a 312 cu in V8 making 225 horsepower.
1956 FORD THUNDERBIRD 312 V8 – 225 Horsepower Ford first introduced the convertible Thunderbird in 1955 and continued the two-seater body style thru 1957. Its original sales triumphed over the Chevy Corvette was the result of clean styling, creature comforts, and V8 refinement. The sales volume didn’t impress Ford conservative management and a four seater replacement was in the works for 1958. This ’56 has brand new paint, tires, radio and clock.

1955 CHRYSLER WINDSOR DELUXE CONVERTIBLE
301 cubic inch – 188 horsepower. Created by legendary designer Virgil Exner, the inspiration for the 1955 Chrysler was his 1954 Parade Phaeton show car. Only 1,395 1955 Chrysler Windsor DeLuxe Convertibles were produced and survival today is estimated in the low hundreds making it one of the most rare of all Fifties convertibles as well as sharing its exterior design with the exciting Chrysler C-300, also introduced in 1955. This example has received an enthusiast restoration and presents very well in Tango Red with a matching black and red vinyl interior, black carpets and a new black cloth power top. Power is provided by Chrysler’s new 188hp 301 cubic inch V8 and a Powerflite two-speed automatic transmission with Chrysler’s heavily promoted dash-mounted shift lever. Other features include power steering, power brakes, pushbutton radio and heater. It rides on Kelsey-Hayes chrome wire wheels with wide whitewall tires. It runs and drives very well.
1959 FORD FAIRLANE 500 SKYLINER 352 V8. Back in the days when Dwight D. Eisenhower was president, the 1957-1959 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner retractable hardtop was a sensation of the first order, so much so that “Ike” even ordered an early example for himself. Even though the public didn’t seem to be clamoring for cars that combined the attributes of hardtops and convertibles, the idea began to reassert itself in the early 1950s in the mind of Gil Spear, head of Ford’s Advanced Design studio. Spear built a scale model of his concept, which caught the eye of styling executive Gene Bordinat. After word of Spear’s model -- dubbed the Syrtis with “Roof-O-Matic” -- reached higher-ups, the company approved more than $2 million to further develop the idea. Work got under way in 1953 and the final product is what you see here. This ’59 500 has new paint and upholstery a re-furbished engine compartment and polished side moldings. The 352 V8 provides plenty of power and automatic transmission, power steering and brakes, it’s a great ride.

1953 CHEVROLET BEL AIR
The 1953 Chevrolet was advertised as “Entirely new through and through,” due to the restyled body panels, front and rear ends. The 1953 Chevrolet 240 Bel Air rose to meet the challenge posed by the changing tastes of American auto buyers. Instead of mere transportation, increasingly affluent families sought cars that reflected their upscale lifestyles. Chevrolet asserted that the Bel Air stood “in a class all its own,” and plenty of customers agreed. A total of 514,760 were produced, including nearly a hundred thousand alluring Sport Coupes. This featured ’53 has all gauges working including the original speedometer. A chromed A/C Compressor and alternator have been added.

Seller is the fourth owner. Because of conversations with previous owners when the seller bought the car, he can confirm the mileage showing is actual. There are 35 previous registrations in the glove compartment showing previous owners names and addresses. The car is original inside with the exception of the dash pad and the red cloth material in the seats (redone with factory correct replacement material) and a rebuilt brake system with all new components and lines, wheel seals and bearings. This car has one repaint as well as all the chrome being replated and all the stainless trim buffed and polished. This automobile runs, shifts, drives and rides as new. The original spare tire is still in the trunk.
1957 FORD FAIRLANE 500 CONVERTIBLE 312 Cubic Inch – 245 Horsepower 1957 was a great year for Ford. It was the first year Ford outsold Chevrolet since 1935, a remarkable rise from the dismal situation after World War II saddled it with outdated production. When you look at the 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 today, it’s difficult to believe that it’s a 54-year-old design. The Fairlane 500 was the top of the Ford line, and had a new frame which allowed a lower height without cutting into the interior roominess. Powering the car was the familiar Y-block V8, now punched out to 312 cubic-inches, this example has a 312 with 245 horsepower, and an automatic transmission. Fifty years ago, this convertible would have listed for $2,505 plus options of about $600.

1952 MG TD ROADSTER
4 cylinder 1250 cc – 57 horsepower In 1950 the TD MkII was introduced, produced alongside the standard car, with a more highly tuned engine with 8.0:1 compression ratio giving 57 bhp at 5500 rpm. Nearly 30,000 TDs had been produced, including about 1700 Mk II models, when the series ended in 1953 with all but 1656 exported, 23,488 of them to the US alone. The car presented here was the subject of a complete restoration in 2002 including a complete mechanical rebuild, new interior and electrical system entire disassembly with the application of base/clear coat paint and the extensive use of stainless fasteners.
1959 MG MAGNETTE
4 cylinder – 150 cc. The Magnette was designed by Gerald Palmer and featured modern Italian inspired styling. Power came from the then new four cylinder1.5 L (1489 cc) engine with twin 1¼ inch SU carburetors delivering 64 bhp driving the rear wheels through a four speed manual gearbox with synchromesh on the top three ratios. Suspension was independent at the front using coil springs and had a live axle with half elliptic leaf springs at the rear. The steering was by rack and pinion. Hydraulically operated Lockheed 10 in (254 mm) drum brakes were fitted to front and rear wheels. The car had leather trimmed individual front seats and rear bench seat. The dashboard and door cappings were in polished wood. Although the heater was standard, the radio was still an optional extra.

1955 MG TF 1500
4 cylinder 1500 cc - 63 horsepower MG Heritage Registry # 11984 The TF was launched in 1953 as a ‘facelifted TD with a sloping grille and the headlamps in the wings.’ The following year, 1954, MG offered the TF 1500 - meaning 1466cc and 63 horsepower at 5500 RPM - using a redesigned XPEG motor. It was the final model of MG’s popular T-Series, a more aggressively-styled version of the TD but built in far smaller number. The TF 1500 model built for the 1955 model year reached production of only 3,400 cars. The 1500cc engine produced 17-percent more torque than the 1250 of the previous year, thus making the TF more competitive with its sales rival. This example has been the subject of an extensive restoration and inclusion in two different collections where it received the very best of care.

1967 TRIUMPH TR4-IRS 4 cylinder 2138 cc straight-4 – 4 speed The Triumph TR4A was built between 1965 and 1968 by the Triumph Motor Company in the United Kingdom. The TR4A was an evolution of the TR4, updated with a new chassis. It was hoped the new, but more complex independent rear suspension would address the buying publics’ desire for more comfortable riding sports cars. This version has an “IRS” badge on the rear. It has been estimated that 75 percent of TR4A were built with IRS. In 1965 the TR4A IRS sold for just under $2500 in the US. The new suspension eventually proved itself with the buying public and in racing, with three TR4A IRS models posting a team win and finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in class at the Sebring 12-hour race of 1966.

1977 MGB
The motor has approx. 8k miles on it since a complete rebuild. It received the owners best effort and all the best NOS parts. Mild porting with a stage 2 cam gives it a very nice idle with more torque and power between 2800 and 4000. This MGB has 1 ½” dual Su’s. Of course balanced and .030 over. Lifetime Stainless steel exhaust. New clutch, hoses, and sundries you would expect with a proper job. Title history from new. The car was Pro undercoated when new. No rust anywhere is a true statement. Was completely repainted when owned by a body shop owner for his wife. It has had the complete suspension and brakes and driveline rebuilt over time, ( by Prather racing). One more thing, the owner/seller/ engine builder, he’s a 5 time SCCA National Champion in an MG.

1974 MASERATI MERAK
3 litre V6 – 190 Horsepower. The Maserati Merak was introduced at the 1972 Paris motor show . It shared the Bora’s mid-engine layout, but the big difference was under the rear hood: the Merak was powered by a 3 liter V6 which could trace its roots back to the Citroën SM-Maserati project. The engine was remarkable for its compactness, allowing a five-speed gearbox to be mounted ahead of the engine. Hydraulic brakes provided prodigious stopping power and were praised for their progressive response. The name Merak did not refer to a wind, as was customary in this period, but rather to a star from the Great Bear constellation. This innovative styling was once again the work of Giorgetto Giugiaro.

1967 MERCEDES BENZ 230 SL COUPE/ROADSTER 6 Cylinders – 2300 CC. The Mercedes-Benz W 113 roadsters, designed by Paul Bracq, were produced from 1963 through 1971. They were known as the “pagoda roof” SL. Boasting an inline sixcylinder engine with multi-port fuel injection it is rear-wheel drive, but also equipped with independent rear suspension, a feature that greatly improved road handling. Most of these early SLs were sold with both the removable hard top and a soft top in the so-called “Coupe/Roadster” configuration. The roadsters weight was reduced in part by the use of aluminum panels for the trunk lid, front hood, tonneau cover and door skins. Production began in 1963 with the 2.3 liter 230 SL. with a 4-speed automatic transmission found to be popular for U.S. market cars. The 230 SL sported front disc / rear drum power-assisted brakes. They quickly gained popularity in the U.S. market. This particular SL is being offered from a long time collector of the marques who has a philosophy of “no expense spared” when it comes to the maintenance and care of his vehicles, therefore we take pride in presenting one of his excellent examples.

1967 CHEVROLET CORVETTE STING RAY ROADSTER 327 V8 – 4 Speed 1967 was the last year for the Sting Ray Corvette. Finished in rare correct Sunfire Yellow, this Roadster has been restored to an as-new condition including factory shims and chalk marks. The undercarriage is as nice as the top. Equipped with a 327 V8 and factory M20 4-speed transmission. Options include power steering, power brakes, tinted glass, side exhaust, and radial redline tires. This car has been restored to an extremely high standard and is ready for Bloomington Gold Certification.
1967 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CONVERTIBLE The 1967 Corvette was a Sting Ray refined to the limit -- the very best of the five-year run and quite possibly the best Corvette ever. The previous models’ old-fashioned wheel covers gave way to slotted six-inch Rally wheels with chrome beauty rings. Interior alterations included revised upholstery, and the handbrake moved from beneath the dash to between the seats. The same family owned this ’67 for the past thirty years. Under the hood is a late model Chevy small block engine with a mild cam, aluminum intake and ceramic coated headers. The original 327/300 h.p. engine is included with the sale of this vehicle on an engine stand. Original trans. and rear end still in car. Features include: rare powerglide automatic, pw,ps, side mount exhaust system, am/ fm/ radio and vinyl covered hardtop. Extremely rare. One of just a few hundred equipped as shown as this car had a factory big block hood since there was a shortage of small block hoods due to a defect in the mold in the month of February, 1967 when this car was built.

1966 PLYMOUTH SATELLITE 426 Hemi V-8 – 425 Horsepower (sure) Chrysler offered its 426 Hemi engine briefly and in very limited numbers in some ‘65 Mopar intermediates, but with 12.5:1 compression and competition-grade tuning, it was too high-strung for the street. That changed in ‘66, when the 426-cid Hemi V-8 was added to the regular production options list. And one of the muscle cars that benefited from this change was the 1966 Plymouth Satellite 426 Hemi. Creating the Street Hemi required numerous changes to the race engine, including substituting castiron cylinder heads for aluminum ones and dual Carter four-barrels for the racing Holley carb. Among other alterations, the compression ratio was reduced to 10.25:1, a milder cam shaft was installed, and a choke was added to the rear primaries so the engine could start in cold weather. As delivered from the factory, the race Hemi developed an estimated 550 bhp. The Street Hemi was rated at 425 bhp, though actual output was higher. This restored example features Power steering, power brakes, power windows, factory clock, rear window defrost, factory AM/FM radio with reverb, factory tach on console, wood grain steering wheel, original certicard. This car is one of 314 originally built. Restored by an Indiana State Patrolman, everything is NOS on this car. Numbers are all matching or correct for the automobile. No expense was spared on its restoration.
1967 FORD MUSTANG “ELEANOR” RECREATION 351 Cleveland V8 – 4 speed It’s not often that the car is genuinely the star of a Hollywood film but this one is different. This one has a cult movie, later remade into a $90m blockbuster, to its name. In the 2000 film Gone in 60 Seconds, a 1967 Ford Mustang named Eleanor starred alongside Nicolas Cage and stole almost every scene (apart from the one with Angelina Jolie balancing a Ferrari’s carburetors). This Eleanor is the kind of car your mother wouldn’t like. A sinister version of throbbing metal that bulges with menace and muscle. It’s a villain’s car. In fact, some of the most dastardly villains in Hollywood have outrun the long arm of the law in the very same car. Completed by experts with all approved components by the only licensed manufacturer of Eleanor recreations.

1961 FORD SUNLINER CONVERTIBLE
292 CI V8 – 175 Horsepower Clean, simple, and refreshingly gimmickfree, Ford’s big ones -- like the 1961 Ford Galaxie Sunliner -- were among the most pleasing of 1961 cars. They took a while to be fully appreciated, however -- even the sun-loving ragtop. Still part of the top-line Galaxie series, the ‘61 Sunliner started at $2849. As in earlier years it had a standard V-8, now a 175-horsepower and a three-speed Cruise-O-Matic self-shifter. This Sunliner convertible has been in a private collection for many years and while its use has been limited its care has not. Ready for Summer.

1961 OLDSMOBILE STARFIRE CONV.
394 V8 – 330 Horsepower. Oldsmobile’s all-new 1961 full-size car was significantly smaller than its 1960 predecessor. The styling was clean and lean, from the bold horizontal grille to its missile-podshaped tail-lamps. It was an exciting season for Olds, and the mid-year introduction of the ultrasporty Starfire was icing on the cake. Priced at a line-topping $4,647 and available as a convertible only (on the 88 chassis), the Starfire was a show-stopper. Inside, the Starfire was styled to the latest trend, with ultra-plush leather front bucket seats, center console, even chrome-accented floor mats. Powering this beauty, a 330-horsepower version of the Olds 394 cubic-inch V8 teamed to the new-for-1961 three-speed Hydra-Matic transmission. Total Starfire production was 7,800 units in 1961. This example has been in a private collection of some note for many years and was restored by its current owner. Close inspection is invited.

1966 PONTIAC GTO 389 cubic inch – 4 speed. The GTO was the brainchild of Pontiac engineer Russell Gee, an engine specialist; Bill Collins, a chassis engineer; and Pontiac chief engineer John DeLorean. In early 1963, General Motors’ management issued an edict banning divisions from involvement in auto racing. At the time, Pontiac’s advertising and marketing approach was heavily based on performance, and racing was an important component of that strategy. With GM’s ban on factory-sponsored racing, Pontiac’s young, visionary management turned its attention to emphasizing street performance. This GTO has been restored back to its original condition. Equipped with numbers matching 389/335 hp engine. Power brakes, power steering, air conditioning, 323 posi track rear-end. So what do you do about that? You build a monster 462 incher, hook it to a 350 Turbo Hydro and a 3:55 Posi.
