159 miles. The slightly quicker way to drive to Québec City from Montréal is along Highway 20, on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River, although the north shore route along Highway 40 is that bit more scenic. Once in Québec City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, explore the narrow cobbled streets which wind steeply between Basse-Ville and Haute-Ville, which is crowned by the magnificent Château Frontenac. Alternatively, climb the Casse-Cou staircase or take the funicular connected to the Dufferin terrace, where the Château Frontenac overlooks the St. Lawrence River. Then enjoy a cruise along the river accompanied by an expert local guide.
DAY 3 Québec citY Enjoy a full day in Québec City at your leisure, exploring the many beautiful museums, historical architecture, designer boutiques and unwinding in Parisian-style cafés.
