The exhibition will display twenty-four photos taken by Irene, an artist who visited Havana, Vinales, Trinidad and Cienfuegos in December last year for the photos. Her photos portray the lives of Cubans in both urban and suburban areas. The internet connection in Cuba has not yet been fully developed, so you should take this chance to explore Cuba before the economy and infrastructures transform.

The latest exhibition of Japanese photography explores the concept of eroticism with photography works by thirteen Japanese artists. The exhibition will be divided into four parts: Staged displays how staged photography strides over reality and fiction; Private Diary features the snapshots and records of private lives; Performance Photography presents how the artists film themselves in a performance; and New Expressions portray sexuality and the body through film, in different manners .

Proposed by Yip Sai-wing, the memorial concert of Beyond's late vocal Wong Ka-kui will be organized on June 10th, his 54th birthday, at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. After deducting costs, the revenue of the concert will be donated to the Po Leung Kuk organization. There will only be one show. Clockenflap 2016 presents to its audience the intertwining of music, visual art, performance art and film to Hong Kong and the rest of the world, aiming to bring together the elements that make life truly worth living. This year, the much anticipated and large-scaled festival will be held at the Central Harbourfront, and will feature big names such as Sigur Rós (Iceland), Foals (United Kingdom), Cheer Chen (Taiwan), Jose Gonzalez (Sweden), Fat Freddy’s Drop (New Zealand), Crystal Castles (Canada), and last but not least, our very own Juicyning. Clockenflap is considered to have opened up the indie and alternative music scene in Hong Kong, making its name as a true pioneer of installing and introducing international artists to festival go-ers and music lovers in Hong Kong. In the recent years, large-scaled outdoor music festivals have been on the rise, and had expanded from their original purpose of performing and sharing music, into an intricate merge with the aesthetics of art and creativity. The marriage of music and art creates new sparks that symbolize, an attitude and an experience. Outdoor music festivals have been around for many years, and throughout the past decade or so, Asia is taking the initiative and is beginning to leap onto the festive bandwagon. Hong Kong's list of the hottest and most anticipated music fests this year include Clockenflap, Shanghai's Storm Music Festival and Ultra Korea. We had the opportunity to talk to the masterminds behind the music festivals, as they share with us the most intimate details that go on behind the scene and the stage. 032

f we are going to talk about the highest ranking music festivals in Hong Kong, then Clockenflap Music and Arts Festival is surely going to be high up on the list. Clockenflap was founded by Jay Forster, Mike Hill and Justin Sweeting in 2008, and ever since its very first show, the performance line-ups and stage productions are constantly perfected and of top-notch quality. In 2013, Clockenflap became a three-day long event, and on the very first day of the festival, there was already a stunning total of 20,000 entries, earning its name as 2013’s ‘Hong Kong’s most anticipated and high-profile outdoor music festival’. We had the honour of
talking to Justin Sweeting, cofounder of Clockenflap, about the festival. Sweeting described the three-day long extravaganza as a “magical weekend”, as Clockenflap meant more to him than merely a music festival. “We created Clockenflap to give people a ‘Clockenflap experience’, and compiled the elements of life that we held most dear to ourselves: music, art, people, scrumptious food, the laughter of people around us, spending time with our families, and so many more. We wanted to re-create the perfect weekend right here in Hong Kong”. It had already been nine years since the founding of Clockenflap. Sweeting stated that he had originally started out in the music industry, and to some extent, the hardships he
had experienced then prompted him to seek for people with similar thoughts, and to create a music festival altogether. That was when he decided to deviate away from what people back home were doing. “The first step will naturally lead to the second step, and I am learning and absorbing constantly. I love what I do, and who I work with, and when everything comes together the way it does, being passionate towards life and what I work for becomes the only natural thing I would do”. Fans, musicians and producers have Clockenflap on the top of their annual ‘to-go’ list. Behind the steady increasing glory and success, Sweeting claims that producing a successful music festival is not a hefty goal, but instead, he sees it as a legitimate demand:

“There is something materialistic behind all this. I think about how we can get a certain message out through music in a sincere way, and how we can encourage and reach out to our audience and performers through our experiences. I want to also place emphasis on sustainability, both economically and environmentally, because a successful music festival should be well-balanced and considerate both in the spotlight and backstage, for example on crowd management, ground facilities and its organisation. Making everybody happy should be the most important and ideal outcome”. Each country has its own unique culture and traditions, however, music is the universal language that bridges differences. Music from all around the world is beginning to rise, and the culture of music festivals is also starting to materialise. As Sweeting had stated, this does not merely represent music, but it also represents the experience - one that deserves applaud and recognition from a global audience.

Jin Sun You ltra Music Festival has been labelled the largest electronic music festival in the global scene. Electro music junkie or not, during the period of Ultra Korea fest, one is bound to witness the entire body of social media platforms drowning in information and photographs from the fiesta. Originated in Miami and co-founded in 1999 by Russell Faibisch and Alex Omes, the electro music fest presents twelve different performing locations, attracting worldrenown DJs and performers upon its dazzling stage. The past five years have seen promising results, as tickets sold out in an instant, demonstrating the event’s rising popularity. We spoke to Ultra Korea’s Marketing Director, Jin Sun You, about the development of Ultra Korea since its beginnings in 2012, and her experiences with the festival in the past five years. 2012 was the year that brought Ultra Music Festival officially to South Korea, and numerous difficulties arose in the process of introducing the largest electronic music festival to the local scene. “Ultra Korea was born out of an accidental opportunity. In 2010, our company’s CEO had come across a video of DJ Tiësto and Diplo performing in Miami - they were performing ‘C’Mon’ both in the daytime and nighttime. He was immediately attracted to this enchanting image on his

screen: the best DJ, paired with the extravagant stage, ravishing lights and the overwhelming energy of the crowd. Although we were initially unfamiliar with the electronic music scene and culture, we were deeply entranced by its liveliness, and so we wanted to bring it to South Korea. This was extremely difficult, as the other performing locations had not heard of Ultra Korea, and the headquarters at Miami did not express interest towards our efforts. However, after years of persistence, we were able to bring Ultra to South Korea in 2012, while becoming the very first performing location in the entirety of Asia”. In the span of five years, Jin Sun had a lot to consider: “I had always been interested in different cultures. I enjoy playing the piano, listening to
classical music, and making art and photography. Before I joined Ultra Korea, I had organised and planned classical music shows and events, and had worked at an art exhibition hall. I was immensely interested in electronic music when I had first been introduced to it, and I am so honoured to have had the opportunity to work on Ultra Korea for the past five years”. The role of Marketing Director seems to naturally entice You, as she stated that there was no need for purposeful maintenance of a passionate attitude. From the initial stages of non-interest from other Ultra Music Festival locations, to the promising results that Ultra Korea had brought to the table, You shares her opinion on what a successful music festival needs in order to climb the ranks -
branding. “I hope that people will refrain from going with the flow, as different music festivals and performing locations have their own unique features. Each producing team has their own individualistic elements that can highlight their respective areas of expertise. In addition, there are other significant features that make a good music festival, and this includes a solid line-up, a high-quality sound system, as well as good catering and activities that supports what goes on in the spotlight. The event can go on for over ten hours, so all these elements are important. But what should be focused on, is the atmosphere. I hope that Ultra Korea would become the most influential local electronic music festival, in order to bring the dynamic passion and excitement of the crowd to every single person that has come to see it in its glory”.

scaled music festivals, as well as producers in China, Zho decided to start with A2LiVE, the promotional and producing company behind Storm. All things are difficult before they become easy, and to Eric, this was a truth that hit home hard. In 2013, when Storm was founded, the company went through a rough year. With profits in the red, the higher-ups were considering the possibility of discontinuing Storm. However, Eric and his team were determined as they searched long and hard for sponsorships. In the end, they garnered the support of Budweiser, and Storm’s 2014 music festival was held successfully. Zho reminisces: “2014 was a year of turning points for Storm. During the course of the year, we had pushed Storm into the spotlight, and showed the higher-ups what we were capable of. We
brought Storm to Shenzhen in 2015, and this year we will be bringing Storm to a total of six different cities in China. This is extremely exciting news, as introducing Storm to all corners of the globe is our aim, but in our current standpoint, we believe that China will possess the largest electronic music festival market in the global scene”. A2LiVE has had ample experience planning and holding electro music festivals. Ten years ago, A2LiVE had been in charge of world renowned DJ Tiësto’s performance in China. However, Eric stated that the electro music festival scene was still underdeveloped and unheard of, as the Chinese market remained narrow in its perception of music. “Some ten years ago, we started inviting international DJs into China. We were unable to grab attention, though. It wasn’t until about 2013, when the timing was
perfect, and we returned to what we did best, making sure that Storm would reach levels that it had never came close to before”. Storm had transformed into the largest and most prominent music festival, and Zho expresses that this was due to strong lineups and performers. “There isn’t a fixed formula when it comes to a successful music festival. I place strong emphasis on the performance and line-up, those in which fuse with impressive stage productions and effects. Exceptional themes and marketing ideas are also needed to capture the attention of the masses. Nobody can predict the success or failure of a music festival, but if we were to define success, then profit would be one word that I would include in the definition”. As a music festival producer, Zho stated that the most memorable performance he had seen was Above & Beyond’s act that had took place last year. “Above & Beyond’s performance last year was the only one that had touched me. Though, when I saw Kesha on stage holding a green beer bottle that wasn’t the red bottle of Budweiser that had sponsored us, I was this close to passing out due to a heart attack”.

Eric Zho torm was founded in Shanghai, 2013, and it had only been a mere two to three years before it became China and Asia’s top electronic music festival. The festival’s success was not unforeseen, as the attentiongrabbing line-up of the very first STORM Electronic Music Festival had attracted over 20,000 fans and festival-goers. Maxwell, Zedd, Benny Benussi, Jay Sean, Far East Movement and Icono Pop were some of the big names that had performed. Eric Zho, a noteworthy entertainment and variety show producer with fifteen years of experience, was the mastermind behind the glory. His ambitions to produce STORM were influenced by the rising Chinese market for electronic music festivals, and since there was a lack of larger-

十年前，在千禧年初，世界著名DJ 的團隊負責。不過Eric說當時電子
音樂的市場尚未成熟，中國市場更 是非常狹窄。 「在十多年前，我們開 始把外國DJ歌手帶來中國演出，那
時也沒有受到大家注意，但經過持 續十年不斷邀請外國DJ歌手來，直
至2013年我們認為時機已經成熟， 於是回到當初最擅長的本行，也決
出成功的電音節是沒有既定公式。 世界級的舞台製作效果，把國際級 的電音節體驗帶給觀眾。當然還要 配合具創意點子的宣傳策略，才會
吸引更多人留意。沒有人會知道如 何的音樂節才稱之為成功，如果必 須要下定義，音樂節最後的盈利愈
大，照道理來說這是成功的一種。」 作為電音節策劃人，他說於Storm 看 過 最 難 忘 的 演 出，那 是 於 上 年 Above & Beyond的一場表演。 「上 年A&B的表現是唯一能夠感動到我
的。此外，當看到Kesha拿著一個綠

ne word most aptly fit for Jeff Cheung and his art. Crude, emotional outbursts of creativity becomes both his playground and haven as he slashes paint onto his canvas – whatever he wants, whenever he wants. Emotions are both friend and foe. Cheung’s yearlong artistic journey had been one in conjunction with his combat against depression. Realism is nowhere to be found – that is not how he perceives the world. Instead, streaks of intertwined, overflowing concoctions of red, yellow, blue, black and gold race across textured surfaces, a visual stimulation that channels his very own spontaneity and loyalty towards his deepest sentiments. Under Cheung’s artistry, facial features are distorted and violated, as his works represent a window into his inner turmoil. Madman (2016) is an exhibit that attacks the eye, as what appears to be a demented figure overtakes all negative space on the canvas. His turbulent brushstrokes tear across the figure’s horrified expression, mercilessly, as if

here were no flashy store signages you’d normally find in Mong Kok above the store entrance; neither were there any overthe-top lightings on the interior. Walking into this eatery, a two-storey building that has no flashy, flamboyant decor, I soon discovered it’s the fusion food and delectable alcoholic varieties, rather than its location or its novelty, that do the tricks. A year into business on Wellington Street, Tycoon Tann at first struck me as a bar, as the bartender ran his gig behind the bar counter on the ground floor. As I was taken upstairs, I realized that the gem of the place actually lies upstairs on the second and third floor where marble slab tables and wooden chairs fill the floor. Bedecked with sakura paintings, each floor has a

Chinese element to the interior designs that I found intriguing. When the food was served, I was pleasantly surprised by how well-matched the food and my surroundings were. The first dish was a wellgarnished dim-sum platter, a quasi-appetizer. Dim-sum is as Chinese as a dish can get, and this platter elevated from other dim-sum eateries with exquisite tastes extracted from fresh, quality ingredients from abroad. The main course consisted of a roasted, honey-dripped BBQ pork, a baked crab carapace, and a humongous sesame seed ball the size and shape of a basketball. These dishes certainly packed a punch. The BBQ pork is not your usual pork from local eateries; the juiciness and chewiness of the Hungarian Mangalica meat complemented the honey that

The crab carapace, coated with melted cheese, was served with vinegar, elevating an otherwise alkaline dish with acidity. This dish was the highlight of the main course, the sheer taste of which had elicited an amazing gustatory journey that melted all my senses. The last dish was The Pearl of Dragon, a giant sesame seed ball. It looked scrumptious. Taste-wise, the glutinous rice flour wasn’t as chewy and greasy as traditional sesame seed balls. I was even more impressed that, although this dish was served cold due to air conditioning, it still tasted great. Pale Ale heavy and hardcore, just like the vast selections of home-brewed beer. Indie to hand craft beer, alternative to handmade; both worlds are in parallel. Home-brewed beer is Ale, beer with low production capacity and brewed with the traditional methods. All beer were brewed with the traditional methods before the 1900s, which were then replaced by the products of the larger beer manufacturers like Lager. The major element in determining the taste and quality of the beer lies heavily within the brewer’s creativity and skill. Normally, only natural spices will be added, with no artificial chemicals or preservatives. The first one that you can't miss is Pale Ale, a 2014-launched, cross-over beer product by North Taiwan Brewing and notable Taiwan heavy metal band ChthoniC. The liquid goes down your throat fresh and smooth, with flavourful hints of red dates and cloves and an aftertaste of burnt malt.

With the Hong Kongproduced malt carrying a local spirit, all cultivated beer are wellbalanced and have their own strengths, despite there being only a handful of choices. Dumbfoundead, a respected pioneer in the Korean-American hip-hop battle rap community, earned his name through rigorous rounds in the Grind Time West Coast league and Jumpoff’s 2007 World Rap Championship. By spitting against established

crews such as Wild ‘n Out, he spreads his influence back into Asia. Korean hip-hop’s rise in the 1990s was heavily influenced by the American scene, as Seo Taiji & Boys, DJ Doc and Drunken Tiger draw nuances in style and messages while bringing a hint of fresh controversy into the local industry. As the genre slowly reveals itself from the underground depths, hiphop raves and concerts in the youth-packed streets of Seoul city’s Hongdae area begin to popularize and appear to merge with the local mainstream clubbing culture. Along with the summer heat, Korean hip-hop delivers a sweet alternative to the usual EDM goodness.

ecently, a local nightclub had been declared guilty on court of gender inequality and discrimination. The nightclub’s very own Ladies’ Night was the culprit of this atrocity, and the news caused an uproar in the nightclub scene. What seemed surprising was the fact that clubs and bars in Hong Kong have always been charging men with higher entrance fees, and have stuck by the rule of ‘free entry for women’. This was apparently “emotionally triggering” for a portion of male clubbers and bar-goers. However, the nightclub in question had not sent out a representative or made an official response, so the court ruled the suing male entitled to compensation. Amidst the bedazzled club interiors, I’m sure that those who frequent clubs go for a promised time of fun and relaxation. Honestly, gentlemen, you wouldn’t want to enter a club just to find out that there is nothing but a sausage fest. In order to attract the ladies, clubs and bars hold Ladies’ Nights - a pretty damn good plan in my opinion. With the sounds of clinking highheels filling the scene, the entire atmosphere, the interaction, and the visuals of the club would look entirely different. Gentlemen, for

the effective protection time of an SPF 15 sunscreen is around 150 minutes. You will have to apply the sunscreen again after this period. PA is a protection grade for UVA. The grading system has four levels, ranging from PA+ to PA++++. The more 'plus' symbols it shows, the more protection the sunscreen provides against UVA. Sunscreen with SPF 15 is good enough for daily protection if you are not participating in outdoor activities. For facial sunscreen,
the winner of the 2010 Elle Genius Award for Skin. Its mild formula can even be used on laser treatmented skin, earning its reputation as the most recommended sunscreen by dermatologists. Sunscreen with SPF 50 would be perfect for those planning on hitting the outdoor activities, under the beaming sunlight. 'Banana Boat', 'Coppertone' and 'Hawaiian Tropic' have always been popular sunscreen and tanning oil brands on the market. Personally, I would prefer sunscreen sprays for the body, as it is possible to just simply spray the sunscreen onto your back without asking for assistance from others. 'Banana Boat Sport Performance Clear Ultramist Sunscreens' and 'Coppertone Sport Continuous Sunscreen Spray' are good choices. For tanning oil, I would recommend 'Hawaiian Tropic'’s Dark Tanning oil. If you want to get a red bronzed look, the trick is to mix the mercurochrome with the dark tanning oil with a ratio of 1:99, lather it onto your skin and you will achieve an aesthetically stunning tan with a subtle red bronzed tint.

THE COLOUR IN ANYTHING
I once met James Blake in person (and got a photo with him). The Colour in Anything, Blake’s third album and successor of Overgrown, had teased fans with the fact that some of its songs were recorded in notable American rock producer Rick Rubin’s Malibu studio. Rubin had participated in the production, providing fans with the expectation of some slight changes to Blake’s voice. The pre-released single ‘Modern Soul’ reeks of soulfulness, and surely, it is an eye-catching number in comparison to preceding works. The auto-tuned ‘Put That Away and Talk to Me’ sounds overwhelmingly beautiful, however, it is an American R&B number. James Blake’s electric sound retains its spirit and simplicity, casting the listener into a state of relaxation. It is like ‘Radio Silence’, a track that preserves Blake’s whimsical electric sounds, and ‘I Need a Forest Fire’ featuring Bon Iver, taking his listeners abroad a jungle journey. From the sudden ‘internet cleanse’ on May 1st - the shutdown of their official website and social media endeavors, to the digital release of new album A Moon Shaped Pool after a period of five years, the divine British band Radiohead becomes the hot topic amongst music junkies once again. All worshipping aside, the successor of The King of Limbs is yet again a masterpiece of perfection – if you acknowledge their current style of an artsy, electro-spiritual alternative sound. Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood leads the production. Greenwood’s decision to feature the London Contemporary Orchestra and Choir and its cinematic quality becomes the main focus of the album. For those who are looking for something new, pre-release ‘Burn The Witch’ features contemporary classical orchestral accompaniments, while the sentimental ambience of ‘Daydreaming’ likens it to the soundtrack of a northern European movie. Six years ago, the reunifying of Garbage, with the making of Not Your Kind of People (2012) that had fans anticipating for seven years, as well as the formation of independent record brand Stunvolume Records, marked the rebirth of a band. In the span of another four years, the band's sixth album Strange Little Birds was, like previous albums, recorded and produced in Los Angeles. Perhaps the twentieth anniversary of Garbage’s very first self-named album that took place last year steered the band’s musical style onto a clearer path, as the most authentic elements of Garbage’s sounds return. Their album Sometimes opens with a poignant goth ballad, with pre-released track ‘Empty’ screaming emptiness with its salient guitar track and cinematic aura. Minor Victories is a British indie supergroup, with members Slowdive’s Rachel Goswell, Mogwai’s Stuart Braithwaite, Editors’ Justin Lockey and Hand Held Cine Club’s James Lockey (the younger sibling of Justin). The gathering of this unexpected combination was due to Justin Lockey’s ambition to record a groundbreaking EP with tranquil, feminine vocals. The original plan to record an EP became the production of an entire album - Minor Victories. Alongside Goswell’s graceful vocals, Minor Victories’ music style is categorized under the shoegaze/dream-pop genre, and is also a deviation from Slowdive’s vibes in its tense and striking sounds. The pre-released track ‘A Hundred Ropes’ was a breathtaking classic among the realm of film soundtracks, while ‘Cogs’ is a noise rock number distinct with almighty vocals. Not to mention, there is also ‘Folk Arp’, a mythic brilliance, and ‘Scattered Ashes (Song for Richard)’ that harmonizes male and female vocals, delivering aptly the sentiments of the 90s. Minor

Fantastic Day marries the style of C86, Jangle Pop and Neo acoustic. The members met each other at the Primal Scream concert back in 2000. They officially formed the band and named it after the legendary new-waver Haircut 100’s song in 2004, which marked the beginning of their music journey into the world of Brit-pop music. Felines are featured in some of your works. Are there any particular reasons behind this? The simple reason behind this, is that cats are wonderful, amazing animals. For instance: cats are independent. They have great acrobatic athletic abilities. They are long-lasting company. They are natural hunters, and most importantly, they are good with kids! As my now eight months old baby son is really happy and laughs each time when he plays with the two cats we have at home. It's a beautiful thing to watch. Your creative style includes elements of graphic design and realism. How does this style attract you? The combination of different styles and elements, such as of graphic design and realism, attracts me the most.
Trying to find that boundary and to playfully mix and combine to create a multi-layered style is exciting. In the end, this work method contributes to an impactful and strong visual. What would you like your audience to feel or take away from your works? Through my works, by creating impactful and remarkable visuals, I hope to connect, engage and inspire my audience. Showing my audience a sense of beauty and wonder is my goal. In the end, it revolves around making beautiful things to make people happy. What and who inspired your artistic creations? While I was planning to go to Monet’s “The Spirit of Place” Exhibition at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, I got a copy of Fantastic Day's latest LP Kaleidoscope. I was so taken aback by the album cover, which is an oil painting named “The Painter’s Two Daughters” by Thomas Gainsborough. When I had cut open the plastic wrap with the white vinyl inside and faded pastel colours spilling over it, I was speechless. It is definitely one of the most beautiful vinyl discss I have ever seen. 'Fantastic Day' consists of a few Stone Roses-like tunes, some nonsense but meaningful lyrics, funky wah-

This Saturday, it would have been a month since the death of Prince (1985 – 2016). My favourite Prince album would definitely be Around The World in a Day. I’ve held the same answer for the past thirty years. The thrill and excitement when I heard Around The World in a Day was so unforgettable. It was released only ten months after Purple Rain, which shows us the rapid production capability of Prince. Around The World is not the sequel to Purple Rain. It is Prince’s ambitious attempt on a psychedelic album. The album was even compared with The Beatles’ psychedelic classic Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band or Magical Mystery Tour. Maybe it was my ignorant young self, but <Around The World in a Day> must have been the first album I heard that is so eclectic. I know every song in the album inside out. Prince’s itinerary set off
from the Middle East with 'Around The World in a Day', telling everyone to “open your heart / Open your mind” and follow him on his journey through wonderland. Psychedelic pop number Paisley Park is Prince’s ideal utopia. The poetic, poignant and hazy piano ballad 'Condition of the Heart' spins a heavenly yet arrogant jazz piano rhythm. The album’s first single 'Raspberry Beret' is a colourful modern psychedelic-pop creation. The dreamy Baroquepop strings is the reason why people compare the song with The Beatle’s psychedelic-pop. Side A ends with 'Tamborine', another unusual production of Prince. Manual open reel effect brought up 'America' and side B of the disc, illustrating America in the Ronald Reagan era. 'Pop Life' is another ear catching song of the album, as it focuses on the popping percussion and the noisy musique concrete. Prince talks about his life philosophy

expiry dates. Two bottles of wine could be labelled with the same year, but could taste drastically different. What does Parker’s ranking in 1982 indicate in the present day? Practicality and experimentation are the only reasonable answers to the question. A compilation of ten wines with narrow ullage spaces completes the preparation for a wine-tasting banquet. 1982 was a classic year, as well as a legendary one. The 1982 Chateau Lafite Rothschild had made multiple appearances in popular media, as the go-to beverage of protagonists and the wealthy. The numbers ‘1982’ stood as a symbol for the greatest year, although it was only a great year for several areas of production in Bordeaux. The rest of the world begged to differ, including France. However, the discourse surrounding the production year of wines is an everlasting one, as the year 1982 carried such meaningful implications. Bordeaux had laid low for a striking period of twenty-one years after 1961, the year of excellence, before making a comeback in the great 1982. In addition, the notable ‘king of the wine’ Robert Parker was “crowned” in the same year, securing his royal throne for
over thirty years. 1982 had been recognized as an excessively warm year by numerous European wine critics. Although the aroma was prevalent, the wine was only to be tasted with immediacy. Storing them would have been impossible. Yet, the 35-year-old Robert Parker deems 1982 to be the greatest year of the wines in the twentieth century, and this title would be preserved throughout the generations of his children and grandchildren. Parker had even gone to the lengths of publicly prizing the 1982 Chateau Lafite Rothschild with a full mark of 100. Never once had he given a winery perfect marks for its splendor. Thus, Parker had pioneered a new era of innovation, as a figure out of 100 could skyrocket the price and status of wines. The year in which wines are labelled with is not an everlasting notion, because wines have

To make it simpler, you can even get a one-piece dress from Bershka or Cotton On, so that you don’t have to think about what to pick for your bottom. The hottest item recently is white sneakers. The NMD sneakers collection of Adidas is sold out just after launch. Nike’s Air Max is also a good
choice with its simple and trendy design. A pair of white sneakers are always presentable with your elegant or casual look. For the sky blue, it is all about denim. Some people think there are not many choices for denim clothing, but it is wrong. MINI LAU@HK TATTOO How did you enter the tattoo industry? I loved drawing and sketching, and after I completed my studies I became a salesperson. I found it extremely boring. My ex-boyfriend was a tattooist, so I asked him to teach me the techniques. I loved to draw, and I saw the skin as a canvas. People get tattoos for various reasons. What are some tattoo motives that struck you? Once, a high school teacher of mine asked me to ink a family member’s name onto her body. Another client wanted to get a tattoo of their mother’s electrocardiogram on their wrist, inked in the cyclical form with two connected hearts. What was the most achieving moment in your career? Being able to use the skin as

a canvas, and to ink my own creations onto others. Making an everlasting mark onto another person feels great. The permanence of tattoos imposes serious responsibility, so I am cautious when I do it. What is your tattooing style? Some people call my works “mini tattoos”, as they can look very intricate and delicate. Some refer to them as “indie”, because I use thinner lines and faint color schemes. This style seems to be more popular among female clients, and they would often request for the artistry of female tattooists. What was the most difficult piece that you had to ink for a client? I had a client who was experienced in inking, and he requested a tattoo of a 3D

illusion on his waist area. He had to tense the skin on his waist so the pattern won’t become distorted. In the end, the unexpected pain caused him to writhe, and the tattoo turned out unsatisfactory. It was one of my moments of failure. 給我們讀者說說你成為紋身師的入 行經過?

成為紋身師後給你最大的滿足感是 甚麼?
可以把皮膚當畫布，將「畫作」紋在
別人的身上，這種替別人打下永遠 的「烙印」的感覺是很正的。一個紋
身可能會跟著別人一輩子，這成為
一個責任，動手時要非常小心處理。 你的紋身風格又是以甚麼為主?
有人會形容為「迷你tattoo」 ，因為
紋的圖案可以是好微細；又有人會
叫「小清新」 ，圖案特點是線條較幼， 用色較淺，女生會比較受落，而且有 些更會指定要女性紋身師呢。

曾經，一位中學時期的老師要求我 替她紋上其家人的名字。還有遇過 一位客人把他媽媽臨走前的心電圖
給紀錄下來，然後拿來給我替他紋
在手腕脈搏的位置，那是圍繞一圈 的一幅心連心圖案。
之中，最困難的是哪個?
經驗，不過那次替他紋一個3D錯視 圖案在腰間的位置，整個過程他必 須要將腰部的皮膚拉緊，紋出來的
圖案才不會變型。不過最後他也料 不到原來紋在肋骨上是那麼痛，在
過程中他的身體不斷移動和抽搐， 到最後紋出來的圖案當然不太理 想，也可以算是我的「失敗作」吧。
