Even though I was a little nervous, it turned out that the other members that attended FABSCRAP Volunteer Event were just people who wanted to offer their time to help their communities, like me. They were all extremely friendly and excited about the event just like I am. We met an intern working at FABSCRAP named Parker, and she was very kind. She gave us simple instructions on how to organize the fabrics that were donated to this nonprofit organization by the

I learned that it's one of the oldest Dutch farmhouses in the U.S., and it was used by the Wyckoff family for 8 generations until 1901. This place is full of history, and it was so fascinating to hear about. We also took a tour of the garden, which provides fresh fruits like raspberries and peaches to the Volunteering at the Wyckoff House Museum was a great experience. I learned the history of the museum and also got to do some gardening. The event started with introductions. I met the manager at Wyckoff, volunteers that helped regularly, and some Key Clubbers from Brooklyn TechÂ
community, which is amazing. (We also spotted small houses for bees!) After the tour, it was time to do some volunteering. We all divided into groups and helped with different tasks like mulching, weeding, and composting. I was in charge of weeding the invasive weeds that grow on raspberry plants.
This place is full of history, and it was so fascinating to hear about. . .and we had a ton of fun weeding and cleaning up the garden together. and Stuyvesant. After getting to know everybody, the manager, Zach, gave us a tour of the Wyckoff House. The house itself was breathtaking! It was a

SERVICE HOUR UPDATE Service is the most important part of Key Club!
Without you guys, many city wide functions would not occur as smoothly, many people wouldn't get their meals on time at soup kitchens, and our school would crumble down at our big events. Our simple acts of kindness go such a long way and so with this sentiment in mind, we want to inspire all of us to shoot for the stars this year and provide as much service as possible. Our service hour goal this year is 15,000 hours!

On August 24th, we have a pool divisional at Mr. Gioia’s house, and I'd really like you all to attend! Also, I have decided to set division goals for this year, which will be $10,000 for fundraising, and 20,000 hours for service! Hopefully, we can reach those goals by the end of this service year! For those who are interested in running for higher office, now is the time to research those positions, and ask questions!

SQUADS ABROAD Squads Abroad is a Key Club partner, and their global education squads improve education in places like Morocco, Honduras and the Mayan highlands of Guatemala by improving infrastructure in under-resourced schools. Volunteers can provide much-needed classroom support for local teachers by participating in projects such as building and bettering libraries, updating classes with new shelves, chairs/tables, and bulletins and constructing fences around schools to improve safety
#MIRACLETREATDAY On July 25, the 2019-20 Key Club International Council supported the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals by simply enjoying some Blizzards from Dairy Queen! That day, Dairy Queen donated $1 for every Blizzard purchased. Since 1984, the Dairy Queen® system has raised nearly $150 million for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals through fundraising efforts including Miracle Treat Day, the Miracle Balloon campaign and other local initiatives.
LEGACY SUMMIT Key Club members from Wisconsin's Beaver Dam High School attended the first Legacy Summit, sponsored by Thirst Project. At the summit, held in Los Angeles, 150 students from around the country learned how to spread the word about the global water crisis.
