Freerice is a fun trivia app and website that donates to the World Food Programme every time you answer a question right. 100% of the funds that are generated on Freerice goes to the World Food Programme, which helps address issues concerning hunger and food security. The trivia questions are fun and easy. There are categories ranging from facts about the current pandemic, world landmarks, or about English grammar. It's really fun and easy to get points and hours from!

T'S GOOD TO HAVE FUN WHILE YOU'RE HELPING CONTRIBUTE TO A CAUSE BTHS KEY CLUB WAS ABLE TO RAISE 379,140 GRAINS OF RICE Freerice is especially beneficial during these times because of both COVID-19 and the Yemen Humanitarian Crisis. FreeRice generates money to purchase large quantities of rice by displaying advertisements as users play and answer questions right. When users see one of these ads, it triggers a financial payment to the World Food Programme (WFP).

Project Implicit was a really enjoyable virtual event to

participate in because personally, I think that it is interesting

to learn about the hidden biases that can inhabit the human mind. Additionally, implicit bias is becoming ever more prevalent in our current social circumstances. Protests against racism and police brutality, the women’s march, and pride parades are all great examples of how both explicit and implicit bias have played a role in our history.

mental health awareness

28

Remote learning has been recently introduced to students because of COVID-19 and as we prepare for the upcoming school year, that is filled with uncertainty, we do know our education will to some extent be through remote learning. However, some students have not been able to mentally adjust to the changes and students do not have the same access to mental health resources as they would inside the Brooklyn Tech facility. The month of July, Brooklyn Tech Key Club aimed to bring this issue to light and create some solutions.
