PVC
POLYVINYL CHLORIDE PVC cables offer good flexibility and performance at low cost, ideal for most applications around the home.
LSHF
LOW SMOKE HALOGEN FREE LSHF cables are those which emit minimal levels of toxic fumes and smoke (0.5%) in the event of fire. They are ideal for installations near sensitive electronic equipment or in areas that may be difficult to evacuate. Always check that cables sold as LSHF are throughout – jacket and cores.
LSF
LOW SMOKE & FUME LSF is a modified PVC compound which gives off less toxic fumes and smoke than PVC in the event of fire. Not to be confused with LSHF cables, LSF cables should be regarded as only slightly better than PVC cables in the event of fire.
PE
POLYETHYLENE PE is a form of thermoplastic that offers excellent resistance to moisture and abrasion. Cables with PE jackets are suitable for external applications.
DUCT GRADE PE Our duct and external grade cables feature a tough, water and UV resistant polyethylene (PE) jacket over the standard cable. They are suited for external installations such as through ducts or clipped to the outside of buildings.
SWA
STEEL WIRE ARMOUR Steel wire armour (SWA) cables are ideal for fixed installations or direct burial in the ground where additional mechanical protection is required.
OFC
OXYGEN FREE COPPER OFC uses 99.99% pure electrolytic copper conductors to achieve lower resistance and improved sound quality. Our TruSound range use OFC for optimum performance.
CCA COPPER CLAD ALUMINIUM CCA is an aluminium conductor or braid wire coated with a thin layer of copper to give the appearance of copper but with electrical characteristics closer to aluminium. There are some applications where CCA conductors are incorporated into the cable design, however none of the cables in this catalogue use CCA. Great effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information in this catalogue. However products may vary due to manufacturing changes, technical improvements and commercial factors. In particular, overall diameters and weights are given for guidance only and if critical, they should be confirmed at time of order.
