The best styles in most shops are only available in XS & S sizes, larger sizes offer less fashionable items ……..Maryam.
g Veiled
females usually have a constant problem with finding appropriate evening gowns for events or occasions. We often end up tailoring our own styles or wearing long sleeve bodysuits underneath to cover all bare areas. It’s very frustrating and the options are limited…….. Amal The option of tailoring is way better than the second option. However, I believe that several local and international designers and brands did introduce veil friendly gowns and soiree pieces. With a little bit of research, maybe in unexpected places, you will probably start finding various options of conservative evening wear in veil and non veil specialized boutiques.
Brand names do not produce or manufacture different styles for different sizes, unless the store is targeting a specific age, size or height clients. For example specialized boutiques for petite ladies, XXXL men, pregnant women, etc. Otherwise in typical high street stores, the styles range from XS to XL in most global brands and some local stores too. I think you may feel that certain styles look nicer and more chic in smaller sizes. This could be a valid point, however, most styles should still look good in all sizes. Try various styles and trends on yourself, and you will eventually end up preferring a certain one, and be confident that different styles look good on different people.
How should apple shaped females dress up ……..Abeer Females with apple shaped bodies tend to have fuller faces and necks, broad shoulders, full breasts, undefined waists, narrow hips, flat rear ends and shapely legs. Go for V necklines to steal focus from the shoulders, and belted jackets to define the waistline. On the other hand, avoid puffy sleeves, light colors and patterns above the waist, and make sure the clothes are not to too baggy nor too tight.

INTERVIEW
Tara Emad... Putting the ‹super› in supermodel By Mahamad El Haddad
What’s your background in modeling? When and why did you get started? I’ve always wanted to be a model. It’s been my dream since I was a little child. And my mom is the one that always supported me, she took me when I was 8 years old to a modeling school (En Vogue by Sherley Shalaby). There I practiced my catwalk, etiquette and dancing. At age of 14, I went to “Face to Face by Youssef Spahi” a modeling agency, and at the same time started doing TV commercials, photo shoots and fashion shows. My first catwalk was for Beyman and first photo-shoot was with photographer Khaled Fadda and art director Maissa Azab for Layalina magazine, I ended up on the cover. Since then I modeled in Montenegro and was the Face of Montenegro Royal Fashion, attended Berlin Fashion Week, went to Brasil for Miss Global Teen, attended Cartage Fashion Week in Tunisia, became the face of the year book of The Angel Foundation of America, and ended up on four covers of ELLE Oriental magazine with Life Model Management in UAE. Who are some of your favorite models and designers, and why? My favorite models would be Giselle Bundchen and Naomi Campbell, I think they’re flawless. As for designers I have a few, McQueen, Elie Saab, and Iris Van Herpen; I would love to model for them one day. What is fun and rewarding about modeling and what do you dislike about modeling? I get to travel a lot, meet new people from different backgrounds and different cultures. Thus I learn a lot. Also I get to try on dresses and accessories from known designers all around the world. I wouldn’t say it has a downside, all it needs is love, hard work, persistence and confidence that you can do it. What distinguishes a good model from a bad one? Confidence! I believe that confidence is the ticket for a model to become successful. If she believes in what she’s doing then the rest of the world will believe her too. However, this has to be accompanied by good training on how to pose and walk and how to carry yourself out as a model.
What advice do you have for other aspiring models? Stand in front of the mirror and get to know yourself. Training in front of the mirror is one of the best trainings a model can do. Try posing and seeing which angle of your face and body fits you best. Also, eat healthy and exercise regularly. Not to forget to mention, take care of your skin and hair. How would you describe your personal style? I would describe it as quite simple. I love pastel colors. I prefer wearing things that are comfortable for me to walk long distances in. So you can always see me in a comfy pair of jeans, a shirt and mostly ballerinas if not sneakers. Do you ever get shy in front of the camera? Generally I tend to be a very shy person. However, many people have noticed that the Tara that’s in front of the camera is a totally different version of the usual Tara. In front of the camera I am not shy, I am very confident! Five things you can’t live without? My BlackBerryZ10, notebook+pen, lip balm, deodorant, and water. What do you consider your best and worst qualities? Best would be that I am a hard worker, passionate about what I love, and very optimistic. And the worst would be I can be very lazy at times and I often procrastinate. Tell us about your upcoming projects and collaborations. The coming month is crucial for me and I will need a lot of patience as I got few different offers. I did casting for a film and got a proposal for international modeling. Hopefully very soon I will know what I will end up doing this summer. Fun Facts Favorite Color: Green all the way. Lucky Number: 7 Favorite Food: I love everything but I have to settle with PASTA! Star Sign: Taurus. Favorite Movies: Vanilla Sky, The Butterfly Effect, Gone with the Wind, The Great Escape and I am absolutely in love with the new movie The Great Gatsby.

Met Gala 2013 Editor’s Pick By Mahamad El Haddad
PUNK: Chaos to Couture, organized by The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art; aka Met Gala 2013 focuses on the influence of the Punk movement on fashion since the early 70’s to present day. Undeniably the Met Gala is the biggest fashion event of the year, where stars strive to push the envelope and unleash their inner fashionistas. So let’s see who wore what with Cairo Fashion Report’s Editor’s Picks! Jennifer Lawrence you did it again! Just as we thought that the Oscar winner won’t be able to top off her Dior look at the 2013 Oscars, she rocks this black 50’s inspired Christian Dior dress, with a “Je ne c’est quoi” black mesh net head piece paired with Brian Atwood studded black ankle straps, finished off with a red pout cherry on top. FLAWLESS… just flawless!
CFR 10
Nina Dobrev’s look was a combination of a delightful and cutting edge surprise. The young starlet clearly had fun with her custom-made Monique Lhuillier ensemble paired with ‘Elba’ pumps by Rupert Sanderson. Nina rocked a Chantilly lace molded bustier jumpsuit which was unapologetically feminine and flirty overlaid with a ‘take no prisoners’ black leather harness attached to a flared full tulle skirt that definitely stole the spotlight. Way to go Nina! Carrie Mulligan all decked out in Balenciaga from head to toe. While some stars opted for “stating the obvious” with their expected over the top punk looks; Carrie went for this simple geometric cut-out dress featuring a big gold statement safety pin as an homage to Punk’s obsession with safety pins inspired legendary looks. Oh and the shoes… could they be more chic as they reflect the dress’s angular cutouts. Well done Miz Mulligan!
January Jones (almost unrecognizable) gives the LBD a whole new meaning in Chanel Haute Couture, and Nicholas Kirkwood shoes. The sequined little black dress with Sci-Fi inspired eye makeup, bleached out eyebrows, and the mohawk hairstyle, paired with punk patchwork shoes almost morphs January Jones into this enchanting siren from the future. Oh and kudos for the structured shoulders and the side pockets, way to stay on trend JJ!
Miley Cyrus unfortunately ended up on some worst dressed lists, but I am here to defend MC, not that ghastly hair of course, but her Marc Jacobs net dress. Miley looks like a glistening mermaid in this fishnet number, it is absolutely fresh and age appropriate for the young starlet. And come on, with her recent punk influence on her everyday personal style, she was bound to nail this one!
Cameron Diaz oh so ladylike in this cobalt blue Stella McCartney custom-made outfit. Personally I am a big fan of the cape trend, which is having a huge comeback this season, here, it exudes this understated elegance while the gold spiked belt screams PUNK as it adds just the right amount of edge… Pure Genius!
Katy Perry in Dolce & Gabbana from head to toe, or should we say her Majesty? Katy tweeted she is channeling the Queen of PUNK Joan of Arc with her religious referential getup. The bedazzled dress is like a piece of mosaic art, and it’s not a surprise Katy is rocking that crown as her latest perfume is named Killer Queen. Two thumbs up your Highness!
