FOREWORD
It is my pleasure to introduce this publication outlining the commercial interests of Malta University Holding Company (MUHC) and its subsidiaries. The Group is mainly involved in the educational, hospitality and business consulting services, amongst others. Our clients include University and language school students, tourists and organized groups, commercial entities and the general public. In the educational field, our training programmes are varied and much sought after. Our offerings, mostly (but not exclusively) delivered in our conference centre at the Residence in Lija, are continuously updated and the list of courses refreshed every year. We are also licensed as a Further Education Institution by the National Commission for Further and Higher Education Malta. The Malta University Language School, on the other hand, is one of the foremost language training facilities on the island with students coming from all over the world. Accommodation and ancillary services are an important element in our portfolio of services. The vibrant atmosphere at the Residence and the quiet environment at Hotel Kappara ensure our continued relevance to our clients’ tastes. Moreover, we also have a number of host families ready to accommodate our clients should they wish to have a real taste of traditional Maltese hospitality and family life. Through our specialized economic, management and scientific consultancy services we also serve as the industry’s key to the knowledge base, testing and research facilities of the University of Malta. Over the years we have serviced various local industries with environmental surveys, energy audits, business strategic evaluations and training needs analyses. We have also provided support for funding applications and independent lab test results. The Group is also entrusted to promote and distribute University of Malta branded merchandise. The catalogue is rich in diversity and has been refreshed very recently. These items are available from MUHC managed outlets at the University campuses in Msida and Valletta and from the Residence as well as from select private retail outlets around the islands. We also cater for merchandise commemorating special events such as Graduations and academic anniversaries. Our publishing and broadcasting functions complete the Group’s portfolio of products and services. Campus FM radio is a prominent element in the local media and is recognised as the island’s primary cultural radio. Through this publication we trust that you will have enough insight into what we can offer. I hope we can be of service. Yours sincerely, Joe Azzopardi Group Chief Executive Officer
